국민건강증진을 위한 영양 부문의 2000년 잠정목표와 전략 (Provisional National Nutrition Targets and Strategies for Health Promotion of Koreans)

  • This study attempts to propose a priority of national nutrition targets and strategies for health promotion by the year 2000 in Korea, as a part of the task set for national health promotion objectives and strategies. Among all of the important health issues raised, ten were chosen, nutrition was one priority area. In the first part, the current status of the nutrition-related health problems and risk factors are reviewed, in conjunction with the newly arisen health phenomena, such as changes in prevalence of lifestyle disease and causes of death, changes of food consumption patterns in our country. In the second section this study suggests six feasible national nutrition targets, eight implementing strategies and current major tasks on the basis of the assessment of present status and in consideration of the other health promotion goals and strategies, with reference to that of other developed countries. The main targets and strategies are suggested as follows ; Firstly, the national nutrition monitoring and surveillance system should be established for identifying the nutritional problems for our people, and current National Nutrition Survey is a strong need for improvement to a more comprehensive and reliable one. Secondly, effective administrative mechanism should be operation at national level for the development of nutrition policy. Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) as well as local health department must be remarkably renewed and strengthened the nutrition section. And it is recommended that MOHW organize and operate “The Council of Nutrition”, in which all government authorities related with foodstuffs and nutrition would incorporated. The Council of Nutrition would act as an adjustor as well as a coordinator in nutrition related policy-making. Thirdly, healthy eating pattern will be supported by activities of introducing a nutrition labeling for providing consumers with the necessary information and skills for food selection. Fourthly, nutrition education, and nutrition intervention programs will be carried out in various settings such as health centers, schools, and clinical fields and workplace. Fifthly, the current dietary guidelines shall be continuously improved in detail, and publicly circulated to particular levels of people by age group and by health condition. And finally, researches and epidemiological studies particularly in regard to diet for development of chronic diseases are needed for more investigation and up-to-date national health and nutrition data should be collected with the support and cooperation from the various medical professional teams . 배수혈을 중심으로 한 주요 치료혈 정보 구축 (A study of constructing information of main treating acupoint with priority given to five vicera's Back-su point)

  • Objection : A medicine which is patient-initiative and preventive is required in Korea, which is going to an aging society. On this, we started this study to make a new rule to diagnose and treat more definitely by linking traditional Oriental medicine to Sasang Constitional medicine, which thought to be suitable because of Sasang Constitional medicine has been valued on staying, diet and human's nature which means preventive medical propensity. Methods : On this study, we discriminated Sasang Constition of 161 students, who is in college of oriental medicine, Wonkwang university, by using QSCCII program; and in those students, we checked 30 volunteers's five vicera's Back-su point on riging and depression, tenderness reaction, and color reaction after cupping treatment. Results : As a result of study of riging and depression of five vicera's Back-su point, we could confirm that defecient organ's Back-su point were more depressed than excess organ in Seum-in, Taeeum-in, Soyang-in. As a result of study of tenderness reaction of five vicera's Back-su point, we could confirm that excess organ's Back-su point showed stronger tenderness reaction than defecient organ in Seum-in, Taeeum-in; and excess organ's Back-su point showed weaker tenderness reaction than defecient organ in Soyang-in. As a result of study of color reaction after cupping treatment of five vicera's Back-su point, we could confirm that excess organ's Back-su point showed stronger color reaction than defecient organ in Seum-in, Taeeum-in; and excess organ's Back-su point showed weaker color reaction than defecient organ in Soyang-in. Those data suggest that there are close correlation between Sasang Constition and on riging and depression, tenderness reaction, and color reaction after cupping treatment of five vicera's Back-su point in treditional Oriental medicine. Conclusions : From this study, we can make a new rule to differentiate Sasang Constition by clearfy a relation between Sasang Constition and five vicera's Back-su point; and with this rule, we could contribute to popularization and objectification of Sasang Constition medicine and further more, Oriental medicine by making a Sasang Constition diagnosis instrument. With this, a trait of Sasang Constition medicine that is preventive and valued on character of individuals will contribute to building a patient-initiative and preventive medical system and will expend the domain of Oriental medicine.

Genome-wide association study reveals genetic loci and candidate genes for average daily gain in Duroc pigs

  • Objective: Average daily gain (ADG) is an important target trait of pig breeding programs. We aimed to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and genomic regions that are associated with ADG in the Duroc pig population. Methods: We performed a genome-wide association study involving 390 Duroc boars and by using the PorcineSNP60K Beadchip and two linear models. Results: After quality control, we detected 3,5971 SNPs, which included seven SNPs that are significantly associated with the ADG of pigs. We identified six quantitative trait loci (QTL) regions for ADG. These QTLs included four previously reported QTLs on Sus scrofa chromosome (SSC) 1, SSC5, SSC9, and SSC13, as well as two novel QTLs on SSC6 and SSC16. In addition, we selected six candidate genes (general transcription factor 3C polypeptide 5, high mobility group AT-hook 2, nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase, oligodendrocyte transcription factor 1, pleckstrin homology and RhoGEF domain containing G4B, and ENSSSCG00000031548) associated with ADG on the basis of their physiological roles and positional information. These candidate genes are involved in skeletal muscle cell differentiation, diet-induced obesity, and nervous system development. Conclusion: This study contributes to the identification of the casual mutation that underlies QTLs associated with ADG and to future pig breeding programs based on marker-assisted selection. Further studies are needed to elucidate the role of the identified candidate genes in the physiological processes involved in ADG regulation.

경북지역 일부 성인남녀의 영양소 섭취량과 영양섭취의 균형도 평가 (Assessment of Nutrients Intake and Evaluation of Nutritional Adequacy of Adults Living in Kyungpook Area)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라의 식생활에 적절한 영양 평 가 방법을 제시하는데 기여하고자 하는 목적으로, 경북지역에 거주하는 성인 남녀 196명을 대상으로 24시간 회상법을 통해 개인별 영양소 섭취상태를 조사한 후 영양상태를 질적, 양 적으로 평가하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 경북지역 성인 남녀의 일일 평균 영양소 섭취량은 비교적 양호한 편이나, 칼슘과 비타민 A에서 영양 권장량보다 적은 83%, 77%를 섭취했으며, 칼슘을 제외한 모든 영양소에서 남자의 평균 섭취량이 여자의 평균 섭취량보다 많았다. INQ로 살펴본 영양소 섭취의 질적 평가는 비타민 C가 2.39로 가장 높게 나왔으며, 비타민 A가 0.84, 칼슘이 0.89의 점수를 보여 Ca과 비타민 A는 양과 질 측면에서 우려되는 것으로 조사되었다. 평균 영양소 적정도는 남자가 0.88, 여자가 0.86으로 남녀 간에 차이가 없었다. 영양소 섭취량과 각 용니과의 상관관계에서 남자의 경우에는 영양소 섭취량과 유의 한 관계를 나타내는 요인으로서 지방과 연령 사이에만 유의한 양의 관계가 나타난 반면 여 자의 경우에는 나이, 식사 섭취 횟수는 대부분의 영양소에서 유의적인 양의 상관관계를 보 였다. 남자는 가계 총수입이 높을수록 식사 중의 비타민 B2 영양밀도가 높았으며 여자의 경 우에는 INQ 중에서 인(p<0.050)과 철분(p<0.05)이 연령과 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였다. MAR은 여자의 경우에 한하여 연령(p<0.05)과 양의 상관관계를, 학력(p<0.01)과 유의적인 음의 상관관계를 보였으며 하루식사횟수(p<0.001)와도 유의한 양의 관계를 나타내었다. 이 상을 종합해 볼 때 경북지역에 거주하는 성인의 경우 남자가 여자에 비해 영양섭취상태가 전반적으로 양호하다고 할 수 있으며 여자 20대의 경우에 영양섭취가 가장 저조하였고 특히 칼슘과 비타민 A의 섭취가 부족하였다. 이연령층은 임신, 출산과 연결되는 영양취약집단이 므로 이들을 대상으로 규칙적인 식사의 중요성과 다양한 식품의 섭취를 홍보하는 영양교육 이 보건소를 통해 강화되어야 하리라고 보여진다.

초등학교 급식용 김치 메뉴 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Kimchi Menus for Elementary School Food Service)

  • 초등학생의 김치섭취량 증가를 목적으로 초등학교 급식용 김치 메뉴를 개발하고 평가하였다. 먼저 부산광역시 소재 H 초등학교 학생의 김치 섭취 실태조사 및 초등학교 영양(교)사를(n=87) 대상으로 NEIS(교육행정정보시스템, National Education Information System)에 등록된 김치 메뉴의 학교 급식 활용도를 조사하였으며, 문헌 및 실험조리에 근거한 초등학교급식용 김치 메뉴 7가지를 개발하였다. 각각의 메뉴를 학교 급식에 적용한 후 학생들의 기호도 및 잔반량 조사를 통하여 메뉴를 평가하였다. 또한 선정된 메뉴의 표준레시피에 대한 영양(교)사의 급식 활용 의사를 알아보았다. 주요한 결과는 다음과 같다. 저학년(2학년)과 고학년(5학년)의 급식 시 김치 섭취량은 각각 7.7 g 및 6.9 g으로 한국인을 위한 식사구성안에서 제시한 분량(40 g)의 19.3% 및 17.3%에 불과하였다. NEIS에 등록된 29종의 김치 메뉴에 대하여 설문 대상 학교의 75% 이상에서 연 7회 이상 활용한 메뉴는 단 하나도 없었으며, 김치찌개가 유일하게 절반 정도의 학교에서 제공되었다. 닭살김치튀김, 김치스테이크를 포함한 10가지 메뉴는 전체의 75%가 급식에 전혀 이용하지 않았으며, 밥, 죽, 볶음, 전, 튀김, 구이류는 전체 3/4의 학교에서 김치 메뉴로 활용되지 않았다. 이를 바탕으로 메뉴의 김치 사용량이 10~20 g(1인분)이면서 메뉴 재료의 김치 비율이 30%를 넘는 7가지 메뉴를 개발하였다. 1차 기호도 및 잔반량 조사 결과 김치치즈크로켓과 김치소스두부덮밥이 가장 높은 점수를 받았고, 다음은 김치완자, 김치닭감자찜, 김치베이컨주먹밥, 김치채소우동볶음, 김치감자샐러드 및 김치계란찜의 순으로 나타났다. 상위 50%의 메뉴에 대하여 저학년 및 고학년(n=100) 대상 2차 기호도 및 잔반량 조사 결과, 김치완자가 4.3점으로 가장 높았으며 김치닭감자찜 및 김치치즈크로켓도 4점 이상의 비교적 높은 선호도를 보였다. 김치소스두부덮밥은 1차 조사와 달리 종합점수 3.8점 및 17.1%의 잔반을 보였다. 개발된 8종의 메뉴에 대한 표준레시피를 초등학교 영양(교)사가 평가한 결과 김치치즈크로켓이 활용 가능성이 가장 높았고 김치감자샐러드가 가장 낮았다. 종합해 볼 때, 초등학교 급식용 김치 메뉴개발은 초등학생의 김치 섭취량 향상 및 김치 기호도의 증가에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Review of Production, Husbandry and Sustainability of Free-range Pig Production Systems

  • A review was undertaken to obtain information on the sustainability of pig free-range production systems including the management, performance and health of pigs in the system. Modern outdoor rearing systems requires simple portable and flexible housing with low cost fencing. Local pig breeds and outdoor-adapted breeds for certain environment are generally more suitable for free-range systems. Free-range farms should be located in a low rainfall area and paddocks should be relatively flat, with light topsoil overlying free-draining subsoil with the absence of sharp stones that can cause foot damage. Huts or shelters are crucial for protecting pigs from direct sun burn and heat stress, especially when shade from trees and other facilities is not available. Pigs commonly graze on strip pastures and are rotated between paddocks. The zones of thermal comfort for the sow and piglet differ markedly; between 12-22$^{\circ}C$ for the sow and 30-37$^{\circ}C$ for piglets. Offering wallows for free-range pigs meets their behavioural requirements, and also overcomes the effects of high ambient temperatures on feed intake. Pigs can increase their evaporative heat loss via an increase in the proportion of wet skin by using a wallow, or through water drips and spray. Mud from wallows can also coat the skin of pigs, preventing sunburn. Under grazing conditions, it is difficult to control the fibre intake of pigs although a high energy, low fibre diet can be used. In some countries outdoor sows are fitted with nose rings to prevent them from uprooting the grass. This reduces nutrient leaching of the land due to less rooting. In general, free-range pigs have a higher mortality compared to intensively housed pigs. Many factors can contribute to the death of the piglet including crushing, disease, heat stress and poor nutrition. With successful management, free-range pigs can have similar production to door pigs, although the growth rate of the litters is affected by season. Piglets grow quicker indoors during the cold season compared to outdoor systems. Pigs reared outdoors show calmer behaviour. Aggressive interactions during feeding are lower compared to indoor pigs while outdoor sows are more active than indoor sows. Outdoor pigs have a higher parasite burden, which increases the nutrient requirement for maintenance and reduces their feed utilization efficiency. Parasite infections in free-range pigs also risks the image of free-range pork as a clean and safe product. Diseases can be controlled to a certain degree by grazing management. Frequent rotation is required although most farmers are keeping their pigs for a longer period before rotating. The concept of using pasture species to minimise nematode infections in grazing pigs looks promising. Plants that can be grown locally and used as part of the normal feeding regime are most likely to be acceptable to farmers, particularly organic farmers. However, one of the key concerns from the public for free-range pig production system is the impact on the environment. In the past, the pigs were held in the same paddock at a high stocking rate, which resulted in damage to the vegetation, nutrient loading in the soil, nitrate leaching and gas emission. To avoid this, outdoor pigs should be integrated in the cropping pasture system, the stock should be mobile and stocking rate related to the amount of feed given to the animals.

섬유질배합사료 내 조단백질 수준이 임신초기 흑염소의 건물섭취량, 소화율 및 질소출납에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Crude Protein Levels in Total Mixed Rations on Dry Matter Intake, Digestibility and Nitrogen Balance in Early Pregnant Korean Black Goats)

  • 본 연구는 섬유질배합사료의 조단백질 수준이 임신초기 흑염소의 사료섭취량, 영양소 소화율 및 질소 축적율에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 임신흑염소의 적정 조단백질 수준을 구명하기 위하여 실시하였다. 공시축은 임신초기흑염소 12두를 4처리구(관행사료구, 조단백질 10, 12 및 15%)로 나누어 처리구당 3두씩 대사케이지에 완전임의 배치법으로 배치하여 시험을 실시하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 섬유질배합사료의 일반 조성분은 건물 함량이 $89.0{\sim}91.0%$를 나타내었고, ADF와 NDF 함량은 $18.87{\sim}19.85$$53.41{\sim}54.80%$로 나타나 조단백질 수준에 따른 섬유소 함량의 차이는 없었다. 조단백질 함량은 TMR10, TMR12 및 TMR14구가 각각 10.61, 12.15 및 14.97% 이었다. 하지만, NFC 함량은 섬유질배합사료내 단백질수준이 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 건물섭취량, 영양소 섭취량 및 가소화 영양소 섭취량은 TMR15와 대조구가 TMR10과 TMR12구 보다 유의하게 높았으며(p<0.05), 대사체중당 건물섭취량과 체중에 대한 건물섭취비율에서도 대조구와 TMR15구가 유의하게 높았다(p<0.05). 건물소화율은 $69.01{\sim}70.33%$ 범위로 나타났다. 에테르 추출물 소화율은 세 수준의 단백질을 함유하는 섬유질배합사료군이 대조군 보다 유의하게 높았으나(p<0.05), 섬유질배합사료군간에는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 질소축적량 및 축적율에서는 TMR15구와 대조구가 다른 처리구 보다 유의하게 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과에서 임신초기 흑염소사료 내 증가하는 수준의 조단백질 함량은 건물섭취량 및 질소 축적을 증가시켰고, 특히 TMR 사양에서 임신초기 흑염소의 조단백질수준은 적어도 15% 이상은 되어야 할 것으로 추정된다.조생 다수성 IRG, 6월 상순으로 벼 이앙시기가 늦을 경우에는 5월 하순 수확이 가능하면서 생산성과 사료가치가 높은 밀이 권장되었다.함량으로 낮아졌다. 비보존성 반응(즉 침전, 흡착, 산화, 용해 등)과 보존성 반응(예: 수리학적 혼합)은 미량원소가 강으로 이동되는 것을 크게 감소시키는 효과적인 자연저감 기작이었다.가되는 추세를 보이고 있었으나 정상군에 비해 면역반응 신경세포의 총수는 43.9%(1형: $23.7%\downarrow$, 2형: $17.8%\downarrow$, 3형 : $56.2%\downarrow$) 감소한 상태로 남아있었다. 이상의 결과로 capsaicin 투여에 의해 성숙흰쥐의 근육층 신경얼기에서 칼슘채널 ${\alpha}_{1B}$ subunit의 면역활성도는 투여 후 1주일가지 빠르게 저하되며 그 이후부터는 점차 정상으로 회복되나 완전한 상태로의 회복에는 4주 이상의 시간경과가 필요함을 알 수 있었다.形態學的) 배양학적(培養學的) 특성(特性)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果) Candida guilliermondii var. guilliermondii 로 동정(同定)되었다. 6. CHS-13 균주(菌株)를 당화액(糖化液)에 배양(培養)시켰을 때 Lowry-protein 함량은 $0.72\;mg/m{\ell}$ 이었으며 , yeast extract 첨가(添加)하여 배양시(培養時)는 yeast extract 농도(濃度)가 증가(增加)함에 따라 단백질(蛋白質) 함량(含量)도 증가(增加)하였다. 7. CHS-13 균주(菌株)의 RNA 함량(含量)은 $4.92{\times}10^{-2 }\;mg/m{\ell}$이었으며 yeast extract 농도(濃度)가 증가(增加)함에 따라 증가(增加)하다가 농도(濃度) 0.2%에서 최대함량(最大含量)을 나타내고 그후는 감소(減少)

퇴원시 환자의 간호요구도 조사 (A Survey on Patients도 Nursing Needs Following Discharge from Hospital)

  • The purposes of this study were to determine the relevant nursing needs of patients following discharge; to identify the degree of their nursing needs; to identify types and status of discharge order and information given to patients; and to determine their specific nursing needs according to their diagnosis. In addition, opinions toward home care services provided by hospitals or by public health nurses and appointment plans with their physicians were also asked in order to determine the necessity of follow-up care for the patient after discharge. Nine hundred and eighty eight subjects were collected among patients being discharged from one national university hospital and four city hospitals. Data were collected from June,1979 to December,1979 using questionnaires and interviews. On the bases of these data the following findings were observed; 1) Almost 40 percents of total subjects discharged from the hospital with some or great degree of nursing needs in general. The most problematic nursing needs were needs for comfort which include needs for releaving pain, for sound sleep and rest, because these needs can only be met by professional help. More than 50% of total subjects have this problem. 2) Needs for mental health, general metabolism, general hygiene and activities and safety were observed in more than 20 percent of subjects. 3) Discharge orders on diet and oral medication were recorded in patients' charts in 70% of all cases. However, more than fifty percents of patients have not been told these information from doctors or nurses. Even though some of them might have had appointment plans with their physicians, they would not keep the appointments unless they completely understood the necessity of the follow-up care. If they have not had any appointment or would not visit the out-patient clinic, there is no method of caring them and prerenting funther discomfort or complications. Even in injection, ski care, dressing and bath, only one thirds of the subjects having recorded discharge orders understood what they need after discharge. The rest of cases have not known what to do for their further care. 4) More than 80 percents and 70 percents of total subjects agreed to a system of home care services provided by hospitals or public health nurses respectively. That is, regardless of sources of medical expenses, most of patients wanted to be taken care of at home following discharge. 5) While more than half of the patients having benefit of medical insurance or paying fully by themselves had appointment plans with their physicians, only one thirds of the patients fully or partially paid by government had appointment plans with their physicians. These results ex-plain that the appointment plan is directly associated with their economic power. This indicates that the home care services are more needed to the people with lower economical status. 6) Those who have been in the hospital more than 24 days wanted !o have home care services more than those who had less hospital days. They also had more appointment plans than other groups. 7) More than 70 percents of the subjects who had been in a university hospital and approximately 30 percents of the subjects in the city hospitals had appointment plans with their physicians. 8) Those who had the cerebrovascular disease, cancer or hypertension demanded more nursing needs such as needs for comfort, for general metabolism and for mental health. 9) Factors which were associated with the degree of patients' nursing needs were age, duration of hospitalization, opinion toward home care services given by public health nurses, hospital appointments and types of hospital. That is, the older they were and the longer the periods of hospitalization were, the higher were their nursing needs. The more they had nursing needs, the more they wanted to have nursing services and had appointment plans. It can be concluded that there is a great demand for a positive and systematic home care services to the people who have been discharged from hospitals following critical care. This program is definitely demanded for the low income groups of people with less education with the financial assistance of the government or other funding agencies.

  • 본 조사는 전국의 4개 권역의 쇠고기를 판매하는 도 소매점을 상대로 이루어졌으며, 쇠고기의 위생적 관리와 표시규정의 준수 여부를 주요 항목으로 정하여 실시하였다. 4개 권역의 축산물 판매업소의 규모를 보면 소형영업소의 규모가 가장 많은 비율을 차지하고 있으며 그 다음으로는 중형영업소와 대형영업소 각각 차지하고 있었다. 비포장 및 포장 쇠고기의 판매 영업소의 항목별 적합여부의 조사 결과는 4개 권역 모두 양호하였으나, 포장육의 조리방법 표시와 보관방법의 표시 등 일부 항목은 잘 지켜지지 않아 영업자들에게 그 필요성이 인식되지 않고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 특히 호남권역의 시급한 개선이 필요한 것으로 조사되었다. 위생 실태에 관련한 항목에서는 조사지역에 관계없이 금속류 및 이물질 검출, 기계 및 기구류의 세척 및 소독, 위생적 보관, 종업원의 장신구 접촉예방 등의 항목에서 상대적으로 저조한 적합률을 나타내었다. 원인으로는 영업자의 식육의 오염에 대한 관념이 부족한 것으로 사료되며 이에 정부의 위생과 관련한 안전교육은 위생 관념이 부족한 영업자들에게 시급한 문제임을 본 연구를 통해 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 전국 축산물 판매업소의 원산지 표시실태 및 위생상태에 관한 모니터링결과로서 식품안전성을 확보하기 위해서는 식품위생과 안전성, 식품표시에 대한 홍보와 교육이 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것이며 또한 소비자들 의 식품안전에 대한 인식과 신뢰도를 높여야 할 것이다. 이를 위해서는 생산자와 소비자, 식품가공업자 언론, 정부, 학자들이 함께 풀어야 할 복합적인 문제로서 향후 더 많은 다양한 연구가 진행되어야 할 필요가 있다고 사료된다.
