Recently, research for machining next-generation micro semiconductor processes and micro patterns has been actively conducted. In particular, it is applied to various industrial fields depending on the machining method in the case of FIB (Focused ion beam) milling. In this study, intends to deal with FIB milling machining technology for ultra-precision diamond tool fabrication technology. Ultra-precision diamond tools require nano-scale precision, and FIB milling is a useful method for nano-scale precision machining. However, FIB milling has a problem of Gaussian characteristics that are differently formed according to the beam current due to the input of an ion beam source, and there are process conditions to be considered, such as a side clearance angle problem of a diamond tool that is differently formed according to the tilting angle. A series of process steps for fabrication a ultra-precision diamond tool were studied and analyzed for each process. It was confirmed that the effect on the fabrication process was large depending on the spot size of the beam and the current of the beam as a result of the experimental analysis.

PURPOSE. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of five different metal framework designs on the fracture resistance of the metal-ceramic restorations. MATERIALS AND METHODS. For the purpose of this study, the central incisor tooth was prepared, and the metal analogue of it and a master die were fabricated. The counter die with the 0.5 mm clearance was used for fabricating the wax patterns for the metal copings. The metal copings with five different metal framework designs were designed from Group 1 to 5. Group 1 with the metal collar, Group 2, 3, 4 and 5 with 0 mm, 0.5 mm, 1 mm and 1.5 mm cervical metal reduction respectively were fabricated. Total of fifty metal ceramic crown samples were fabricated. The fracture resistance was evaluated with the Universal Testing Machine (Instron model No 1011, UK). The basic data was subjected to statistical analysis by ANOVA and Student's t-test. RESULTS. Results revealed that the fracture resistance ranged from 651.2 to 993.6 N/$m^2$. Group 1 showed the maximum and Group 5 showed the least value. CONCLUSION. The maximum load required to fracture the test specimens even in the groups without the metal collar was found to be exceeding the occlusal forces. Therefore, the metal frameworks with 0.5 mm and 1 mm short of the finish line are recommended for anterior metal ceramic restoration having adequate fracture resistance.

Since magnesium alloy sheets have been employed in industrial field which requires the light weight and thin engineering components, most of researches have been focused on the formability of magnesium ahoy sheet. In warm press forming of magnesium alloy sheet, it is important to control the sheet temperature by heating the sheet in closed die. When forming a commercial AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets which are 0.5mm and 1.0mm thick, respectively, time arriving at target temperature and temperature variation in magnesium alloy sheet have been investigated. Sheet metals were mostly formed in simple shapes such as circular or rectangular. Few studies about forming of complex shapes were reported. Thus, the formability of magnesium alloy sheet for complex shapes is investigated. The process variable for a double sink shape deep drawing with circular and rectangular shape was investigated by varying temperature, velocities, and clearances. Accordingly, temperature, velocities, and clearances suitable for forming were suggested through investigating the thickness variation of the product.

Recently, boss and rib test based on backward extrusion process was proposed to quantitative evaluate the interfacial friction condition in bulk forming process. In this test, the tube-shaped punch with hole pressurizes the workpiece so that the boss and rib are formed along the hole and outer surface of the punch. It was experimentally and numerically revealed that the height of boss is higher than that of the rib under the severe friction condition. This work is focused on the effect of the punch design and friction condition on deformation pattern in boss and rib test. From the boss and rib test simulations, it was found that there is slight variation in both the heights of boss and rib according to the length of punch land, nose radius, and face angle. However the hole diameter of the punch and the clearance between the punch and die have a significant influence on the heights of the boss and rib. In addition, the effect of flow stress was also investigated on the deformation patterns through FE simulations.

In the micro hole punching, the size and shape of burr and burnish zone are very important factors to evaluate quality of micro holes which depend on punch-die clearance, stain rate, workpiece material and etc. To get micro holes with small burr and wide burnish zone for industrial demands, not only the parametric study but also a study on fracture behavior in shear band are necessary. In this study, 100 $\mu\textrm{m}$, 25 $\mu\textrm{m}$ micro holes in diameter were fabricated on brass (Cu63/Zn37) and SUS 316 foils as aspect ratio 1:1, and the characteristics of micro holes was investigated comparing with man holes over several mm by scanning electron microscopic views and section views. Like macro hole, micro hole is also composed of 4 portions, rollover, burnish zone, fracture zone and it shows similar fracture behavior in shear band, but? by high strain rate (10$^2$∼ 10$^3$s$\^$-1/) unlike macro hole fabrication and increment of relative grain size several different results are shown.

A state purpose to produce fine blanking die gets to be the maximum size of share surface the study considered that change a size of share area. the clearance affecting most greatly size of share surface fixing as 1% of material thickness and while change share speed, A distance change from share line to V-ring center, A change of V-ring angle. it designed. Each test specimen taken from the share surface size analysis of the V-ring distance of 2mm, the outer $45^{\circ}$ / inner$30^{\circ}$ if the, Shear speed was found that the area of the entire cross section is largest the 6.4m/min.

In addition, the effect of flow stress on the calibration curves was investigated through FE simulations. It was found that there is no effect of strength coefficient of the workpiece on the calibration curves for estimation of friction condition. On the other hand, the strain-hardening exponent of the workpiece has a significant influence on the calibration curve.
A process planning system for cold forging of non-axisymmetric parts of comparatively simple shape was developed in this study. Programs for the system have been written with Visual LISP in AutoCAD. Shape of the product must be drawn with the solid line and the hidden line, and with the plane and front view, as well. At the plane, the system recognizes the external shape of non-axisymmetric portions - the number of the sides of the regular polygons and the radii of circles inscribing and circumscribing the polygon. At the front view, the system cognizes the diameter of axisymmetric portions and the height of the primitive geometries such as polygon, cylinder, cone, concave, convex, etc. The system perceives that the list developed from the solid line must be formed by the operation of forward extrusion or upsetting, and that the list developed from the hidden line must be formed by the operation of backward extrusion. The system designs the intermediate geometries again by considering clearance between workpiece and die, and then finally the billet diameter, in reverse order from the finished product, on the basis of volume constancy and using the operations, the forming sequence, the number of operations and the intermediate geometries which were already designed. The design rules and knowledges for the system were extracted from the plasticity theories, handbook, relevant reference and empirical knowledge of field experts. Suitability of the process planning was analyzed using SuperForge of FVM simulation package. The results of analysis showed good formability.
A parametric study was conducted on the effects of five fundamental design parameters on springback, including die clearance, step height, step width, punch radius, and taper relief in an L-bending process, controlled by the compression force. The experiment was also conducted to verify the usefulness of the parametric study procedure for process design, as well as the finite element predictions. The elastoplastic finite element method was utilized. The L-bending process of the york product, which is a key part of the breaker mechanism, was employed. The deformation of the material was assumed to be due to plane strain. Five samples of each design parameter were selected based on experiences in terms of process design. The finite element predictions were analyzed in detail to show a shortcut towards the process design improvement which can replace the traditional process design procedure relying on trial-and-errors. The improved process design was verified to meet all the requirements and the predictions and experiments were in good agreement.
