Most existing FRADs support only permanent virtual circuit-based frame relay services. But several applications such as intranets, desktop video conferencing, remote access and voice applications typically do not require the dedicated bandwidth capabilities of PVCs because connections are only occasionally needed. So it drives the need of switched virtual circuit-based FRADs which offer potentail cost savings associated with dynamic bandwidth on demand connectivity. In this paper, we describe Frame Relay Network Access System(FNAS) that provides switched virtual circuit-based frame relay access for dial-up Internet services. The hardware configuration, software architecture and call processing flow of FNAS is explained.

In this paper, the voltage monitoring system is designed to monitor the outage and voltage fluctuation by using a dial-up telephone. The master station receives tire outage signal-such as interruption and voltage sag etc. - from the remote in on-line of real-time. The SCC(Serial Communication Controller) is adapted to monitor voltages multiple clients(about 256 clients) simultaneously. The voltage fluctuation in a normal range shall be transmitted to the master station, at early morning the clients use the telephone less frequently. The operating system shall be "window 95" and the database is programmed in Visual-basic for a easy analysis of voltage fluctuation.

We have developed a Differential Absortion LIDAR (DIAL) method for the measurement of lower tropospheric ozone concentration. We used two laser beams from quadrupled Nd:YAG (266 nm) for the resonance wavelength and dye lasers (299.5 nm) for non -resonance wavelength. Aerosol extinction coefficients in the lower troposphere was computed by both Klett and Slope methods. To correct the SIN (Signal -Induced Noise) effect caused by photo detector, we subtracted a new-fitted baseline on the background part of a LIDAR signal, after the subtraction of the DC level. This is because SIN can be treated as an exponentially decaying tail. Using theme results, ozone profiles were obtained approximately 2km at daytime and 3km at nighttime. We compared the results derided by the Slope method with those measured by UV spectrometer. The computed results are in mostly good agreement with experimental results. In the measurement of the vertical layer, we observed the variation of the ozone profiles around the top mixed layer.

This paper describes on the interworking services. interworking issues and the design concepts in the Interworking System (IWS) between Pubilc Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and Packet Switched Data Network (PSDN), which has been developed at the Electronics and Tedecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). As a gateway between PSTN and PSDN, IWS provides the interconnection between PSTN and PSDN. In addition to the provision of basic interconnection services (i.e. dial-in/dial-out services), IWS provides the Maintenance and Administration (M&A) services for system itself and the supplementary services such as the call barring, direct call and closed user group. The architecture of IWS is based on the multiprocessor system with single system bus. And a multiprocessor real time kernel is used to support the inter-board communication as well as the inter-process commmunications. Especially, the operation and maintenance functions of IWS are treated in detail.

1. To know the site of saponin synthesis in this plant, 4-years old Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer was administered with 1, 2-l4C-acetate (Na salt, 10 ucilplant) by stem injection and was continued to grow for 3 weeks and the distribution of the radioactivity in leaf, stem and root part was identified. The percentage of radioactivity recovered was about 3.99%. 2. The sliced roots or leaf discs (2g) were bathed in the reaction mixture containing sugar, ATP, NADPH, and the distribution of the radioactivity of the fractions (sugar, saponin, sapogenin) was identified. 3. It seemed that major synthesized saponins in roots and leaves are dial and triol-type, respectively. Although both types of saponins are synthesized in roots, the main saponins seemed to be dial saponins and a significant portion of triol saponins are supplied from leaves through stem.

In order to maintain the faith and accuracy with precision of machinery, it is recently required the precise comprehension about approach which is appeared in the contact area between two bodies, because approach affects the static stiffness and dynamic characteristic of contact area. This study applied H. Hertz's circle contact area theory as much lower measuring force. It is measured approach influenced by various factors which were concerned with contact errors like material, form of two bodies, using calibration tester. As a result, the following conclusion can be obtained. 1) The approach appears greatly in order of carbon steel(SM20C), aluminum(A601-T6) and high density polyethylene(5305E) 2) The approach appears in order of concave, disc, convex form, in the ration of contact area size by the difference of curvature.

상업 인쇄기들에 대한 원격 진단(remote diagnostics)은 이제 더 이상 새로운 것이 아니다. 인쇄기 조작원이 발견한 문제점을 인쇄기에 장착한 전화로 연결(dial-up)함으로써 인쇄기 제조업체들이 공유할 수 있도록 하는 이 시스템은 이미 십여년 동안 소프트웨어 업데이트와 보완을 거치며 발전해왔다.

터치스크린 입력 방식은 키보드나 마우스 등의 다른 주변 장치의 도움 없이 손이나 펜 등을 이용해 직접 화면에 접촉을 통한 입력을 수행한다. 이러한 입력 방식은 키보드, 마우스 등의 조작을 통해 포인팅 커서를 움직이거나 입력하는 방식에 비해 비교적 유연한 손가락을 이용한다는 점에서 입력의 유연성과 직관성을 극대화 시키는 장점을 가진다. 그러나, 손가락을 이용한 조작에 의해 야기되는 조작의 부정확성과 터치스크린을 활용한 새로운 인터페이스의 부재는 터치스크린 입력 방식의 큰 단점으로 지목되고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 터치스크린을 사용하는 이동 단말기의 효율적인 입력을 위한 다이얼 메뉴 유저 인터페이스를 제안한다. 본 기법은 사용자의 명령을 받기 위해 작은 아이콘 형태로 대기하고 있는 비활성화 상대, 사용자의 터치 명령을 받은 후 다이얼 형태로 인터페이스가 전개된 활성화 상태, 활성화 상태에서 원하는 명령을 찾고 실행하기 위한 네 가기 동작인 회전, 확대, 축소, 그리고 클릭으로 구성되어 있다. 본 기법을 통한 직관적인 조작은 터치스크린의 단점인 부정확한 포인팅을 극복하고, 터치스크린이 가지는 드래그 기능을 활용하여 메뉴 검색에 신속성을 부여한다.
