Design and Implementation of a Web-based Diagnostic Evaluation System for Efficient Teaching Method (교수방법의 효율화를 위한 웹 기반 진단평가 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • For efficient teaching method a teacher should understand the current level of learners. Diagnostic evaluation is generally used to grasp a knowledge level of learners. However, it is not easy to take a diagnostic examination in every class because of time limitation. Accordingly, we propose a web based diagnostic evaluation system for efficient teaching method. In the proposed system, it is possible for teachers to feed diagnostic evaluation questions on the web at any time and for learners to take an online diagnostic examination without space and time limitation. In addition, the proposed system automatically grades the diagnostic evaluation and provides a teacher with various statistical data that can be a criterion to decide a proper teaching level.

  • Many studies have reported that each evaluation had a stronger effect on the development of a student's teaming ability. Nevertheless, in reality schools rely on the results of summative evaluation after the lesson only for the purpose of learning evaluation. Such a method of evaluation is a result-oriented learning evaluation, with no consideration of developing process of loaming ability of each student. Existing learning evaluation has been considered difficult to process learning performance ability in a clearer manner, as it examines teaming performance ability by diagnostic evaluation and learning ability improvement by formative evaluation, separately. Therefore, this paper proposes a learning evaluation method incorporating diagnostic and formative evaluation, using a Fuzzy inference, for a more objective assessment of performance ability. The proposed method assessed teaming ability based on different weight values, in order to reflect the level of diagnostic and formative evaluation.

Suggestion for Objective Evaluation of Comparative Pulse Diagnosis

  • Objectives: Pulse is a method of Korean medicine diagnosis and is an important clue to detect the organs, nature, and progress of the disease. Pulse examination is included in the basic examination of Korean medicine doctors, but there is no standardized method for diagnosing pulse although the types and methods of the pulse taking are briefly described in the literature, making it difficult to spread the examination method. In this regard, I would like to propose an objective evaluation method. Methods: Although the importance of pulse examination and the method of pulse examination are known in the literature, it is difficult for undergraduate students or inexperienced Korean medicine doctors to access it, so in this paper a method of marking the size of the pulse power in the blank space for objective evaluation was devised and presented. Results: The size of the pulse power should be indicated using the 1-cell, 3-cell, or 5-cell method according to the left and right wrists and the cun, guan and chi on both sides. Conclusion: The method of pulse diagnosis is an important diagnostic method as a verification process for making a Korean medical diagnosis. The remaining Korean medicine diagnostic methods, including pulse diagnosis, also need to undergo objectification. It is believed that the objectification of these diagnostic methods will lead to an improvement in the treatment rate of Korean medicine.

Development of a Web-based Diagnostic Evaluation Program for Prevention of Nurse Malpractice Liability (간호과오책임 예방을 위한 웹기반 진단평가 프로그램 개발)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop a web-based diagnostic evaluation program for nurses to prevent malpractice liability. Methods: A comprehensive review of the literature and 9 specialist interviews were used to search for learning goals and content for protection for nurses from malpractice. Data on needs for learning goals were collected from 56 hospital nurses who agreed to complete a self-report questionnaire. The diagnostic program was evaluated between September 2008 and August 2009 by 35 new hospital nurses using an application of the web-based program evaluation tools by Chung (2000). Results: A comprehensive review of the literature and interviews were used to search for learning goals and content. The evaluation program was composed of the 73 questions for diagnostic evaluation under 23 learning goals and 6 grand learning goals which included the principles of law, patient's rights, legal responsibility, patient's safety, regulation on nursing practice and patient's rights protection. Evaluation of the program showed that the mean for program evaluation was 3.43 (SD=.37). Conclusion: This diagnostic evaluation program could be an efficient method for teachers and learners to improve nurses' behavior in protecting the patient's rights and preventing malpractice claims.

  • Evaluation of learning ability of students is classified a step of diagnostic, formative and summative evaluation. This step-by-step evaluation is the standard of synthesis judgement, from a student's prior learning of preparation state to devotion of learning process and even learning result. In this paper, we propose the method of synthesis learning evaluation which is considered evaluation of each step in using fuzzy inference. In order to get objective evaluation of learning ability, we applied to the weights by evaluation steps. And we reflected defuzzification values of final evaluation membership function interval obtained by fuzzy inference about diagnostic, formative and summative evaluation. As a result, it processes definite inference ensures objectivity and shows validity of the synthesis evaluation method.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this guideline is to show the evidence-based guidelines of diagnosis and evaluation of Hwabyung by the synthesis and organization of existing research contents. Methods : We investigated the existing research on the concept of Hwabyung. Further, we investigated the diagnostic tools, self-diagnostic method, symptoms assessment tools, oriental medical diagnostic methods, treatment evaluation tools and other testing methods of Hwabyung. Results : There was a Hwabyung diagnostic interview schedule (HIBDS) in the standardized measure for the diagnosis of Hwabyung. In the symptoms assessment tools of Hwabyung, there was a self-report measurement tool of Hwabyung and measurement tool of Hwabyung to be evaluated by the interviewer. In the oriental medical diagnostic method, there was an instrument of pattern identification for Hwabyung. In the treatment assessment tool, there was an instrument of oriental medical evaluation for Hwabyung. In addition, MMPI, SCL-90R, Zung's self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), Zung's self-rating depression scale (SDS), State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI) and etc. can be used for the diagnosis and assessment of Hwabyung. Conclusions : We expect 'Clinical Guidelines for the Treatment of Hwabyung' to be useful for the diagnosis and assessment of Hwabyung.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide KFDA's guidance for premarket notification submission and labeling for prescription use drugs of abuse in vitro diagnostic devices. To evaluate in vitro diagnostic devices the following performance characteristics should be described in detail within the submission: analytical sensitivity or minimum detection limit, cutoff concentration, specificity and cross reactivity, interference, precision, method comparison and stability.   • In order to be efficient teachers should understand the current level of leaners through diagnostic evaluation. However, it is arduous to administer a diagnostic examination in every class because of various limitations. This study examined, the major issues arising from the development of a new science diagnostic evaluation system by incorporating the using knowledge state analysis method. The proposed evaluation system was based on the knowledge state analysis method. Knowledge state analysis is a method where by a distinguished collection of knowledge uses the theory of knowledge space. The theory of knowledge space is very advantageous when analyzing knowledge in strong hierarchies like mathematics and science. It helps teaching plan through methodically analyzing a hierarchy viewpoint for students' knowledge structure. The theory can also enhance objective validity as well as support a considerable amount of data fast by using the computer. In addition, student understanding is improved through individualistic feedback. In this study, an evaluation instrument was developed that measured student learning outcome, which is unattainable from the existing method. The instrument was administered to pre-service physics teachers, and the results of student evaluation was analyzed using the theory of knowledge space. Following this, a revised diagnostic evaluation system for facilitating student individualized learning was constructed.

  • Background: This thesis aims at suggesting the direction for the introduction of public free treatment support system according to the establishment of [Special Education Law] and the right settlement of therapeutic support service. Method: It introduced the characteristics and the contents of school based PT & OT, diagnosis and evaluation, and operation method. It set up question items and presented intervention plan, and substantial intervention, beginning from the request of whole process. The diagnostic evaluation was described from 4 aspects, which are consideration matters in the time of document drawing and diagnostic evaluation, chiefly centering around SOAP. The flow of overall treatment support service, the allocation of 16 handicapped children for 1 therapist, and the weekly treatment frequency according to the treatment support location and environment were suggested in the concrete operation method. Result: The concrete method should be explored in order to provide handicapped students with requisite services, which are offered by various experts in the amended 'Special Education Law'. In addition, work condition and social welfare, which are equal to school teachers, should be provided for all experts. Conclusion: Along with these things, special education support center should establish the road-map for the education rehabilitation of the handicapped children from the evaluation of early diagnosis of the handicapped children to treatment support and lifelong education.

  • We propose the intelligent tutoring system for the mobile english learning. The proposed system is based on the item response theory to analyze the level of learner. We define the types of item, teaching method and item disposition according to contents modeling. The system estimates the learner level and it gives the learning contents, the evaluation results, and feedback. The system gives those by inference engine which consists of learner's level estimation value, method diagnostic value and disposition diagnostic value.
