This study examines the sustaining power of program effects of Reading Comprehensive Strategy Program, for underachieving gifted students in middle schools, which was developed and applied by Choi(2015). The study was a kind of follow up study of Choi(2015) as this study traced and collected all data from the same samples that Choi(2015) used since Choi(2015) stopped his program and data collection from 31 participants for 9 to 12 months. As the results, Among 11 subjects, who overcome underachievement through Choi(2015)'s Reading Comprehensive Strategy Program, 5 subjects could consistently maintained their performance level. However, 3 subjects could not maintain their performance and went back to the underachieving level, and another 3 showed instability as they went up and down around the border line. And among 20 subjects, who could not help the underachieving level through Choi(2015)'s program, 5 subjects could reach the achieving level. But 15 subjects still remained in their underachieving level. In conclusion, we may say that at least 16.1%(5 among 31) of underachieving gifed students could overcome their underachiving issue by Choi(2015)'s program even in the most pessimistic view, and 51.6%(16 amoung 3) in the most optimistic view. After all, at least about 50% cases could not be explained only by cognitive factors such as absence of reading comprehensive strategy. We suggest that we should handle the underachieving issues of gifted students by more comprehensive approaches.

One Book One City' project is regarded as one of the most successful reading promotion campaign conducted by public libraries in this age. The purpose of this research is to analyze the present stage of this campaign in Korea, and to suggest the actual plans to make this campaign successful. To look into deep context and process of this campaign in Korea, I did a case study for 'One Book One Busan' project. After analyzing the strength and weakness of the project, I suggested the strategies for the development of 'One Book One City' campaigns in Korea.

This paper presents the development of the automatic safety inspection technique for the ammunition fuzes using radiography images. The technique inspects 49-ammunition fuze by detecting the X-ray or neutron radiographic images to check whether the fuze is unintendedly armed or/and some major assembled parts are at right place. To execute the program, we loads the image(s) for under test. After reading images, the program conducts a series of pre-image processing, and then starts inspecting input images by using the detection algorithms which are designed distinctively for each fuze. After completing the detection process, the program displays the final result of the fuze status: "safety or danger." Through this program, we can cut off the fuzes which have any doubt about safety, and can only provide absolutely safe fuzes, compared with the current naked eye inspection method.

The aim of this study is to develop and suggest a reading strategy to learn for integrating reading and writing. The reading and writing strategy could be divided in directed strategies related to the cognitive process and indirected strategies to carry out the process successfully. Therefore, its strategies are constructed of the indirected strategy corresponding with the instructional design model and the direct strategy containing specific action plans of the model's progressive stages. When considering the reading to learn could be run as a program in the school, in this study, the basic model of the indirected strategy is devised with four steps of 'preparing-designing-implementing-evaluating'. And the implementing stage of the read to learn combining reading and writing is consisted of six steps as 'selecting subjects-considering contents-searching-writing-correcting-publishing'. Also, proper indirected strategies such as graphic organization and checklists are suggested in order to assist reading and writing activities in the implementing stage.

This paper highlights the home concentrate device(HCD) that integrates the data reading and display of the six types of meters (water, hot water, heating, cooling, gas and electricity) used in Korean residential areas. Unlike the conventional system which utilizes single MCU, the developed system uses two MCUs for one MCU to gather the meter readings and for the other MCU to communicate to the server computer. Hard ware design, communication protocols, LCD design and program structures are discussed and the test results are shown in this paper. With the implementation of integrated meter reading, the developed system can increase the popularity of automatic meter reading(AMR) with its better scalability, pricing, installation fee, maintenance and faster response.

Subjects were 88 two-year-old-toddlers(25-36 months of age) and 32 teachers in 13 childcare centers; they were randomly assigned to experimental or control groups. The researcher observed teacher-toddler interaction in the picturebook reading situation. Analysis of patterns of teachers' verbal behavior and coding of toddlers' verbal and nonverbal behaviors were based on Senechal, et al.(1995) and Whitehurst, et al.(1988), respectively. In comparison with the control group, toddlers of the experimental group showed significant differences in verbal behavior; they acquired nouns occurring in the picturebooks and more expressive and comprehensive language. After training intervention, teachers of the experimental group showed changes in quality and quantity of verbal behavior.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an e-learning orientation program for nursing students(junior), to evaluate the program, and to find out its effects on adapting to clinical practicum. Methods: The e-learning orientation program was developed according to ADDIE model(analysis, design, develop, implement, evaluate) using an Active Tutor Program. Twelve nursing professionals and 31 nursing students(learners) evaluated the e-learning orientation program. Thirty one nursing students participated in the e-learning orientation program both on-line and off-line. Results: The e-learning orientation program consisted of 5 parts including 'Taking a lesson in gastrointestinal tract', 'Fundamental nursing skill and reading a medical chart', 'Taking a ward orientation by head nurse', 'Clinical practice with preceptors', and 'Writing for case report'. Adapting scores to clinical practicum were significantly different between pre-test and post-test(t=-5.76, p=.000). Conclusion: The e-learning orientation program of on-line and off-line has an effect on adapting to clinical practicum for nursing students.

The goal of this study is to propose the contribution strategies of public library as cultural infrastructure to local cultural development in Korea. For this goal, researcher evaluated how public libraries contribute to the local cultural development in terms of interdependence of public library and local culture. Then, the researcher divided into the local culture to knowledge culture, reading culture, learning culture, living culture, and leisure culture, and suggested six contribution strategies(improving core competencies including the collection development and user service, strengthening education and support for digital information literacy, reading promotion and base expansion for everyday life, optimization of lifelong learning & culture program services, increasing openness and friendliness of the facilities and space, expansion of cooperation with relevant agencies) of public library for their development and promotion.

This study investigated the effects of young children's emotional reading ability on prosocial behavior. The participants in this study were 192 young children's. From December 17, December 27, 2018, after conducting a survey on emotional reading ability and prosocial behavior of infants, the data was analyzed using the SPSS WIN 22.0 program for pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis. The results of the analysis suggest the following: First, there were significant relationships between young children's emotional reading ability and prosocial Behavior. Second, young children's emotional reading ability affected prosocial behavior. In conclusion, this study is believed to be the basis for the development of programs to improve emotional reading ability and promote prosocial behavior.

Sookmyung Women's University Library developed a Cyber Learning Program for Information Literacy Education in the Fall semester of 2004. The program was enforced as a pass/fail prerequisite of the "Reading & Writing", a compulsory course for the first-year students. The paper describes why and how the university reached to the decision to initiate such a program. It identifies the factors which contributed to the early success of the program by analyzing the contents development process and the actual course management process. Suggestions for further developments is made by analyzing the technical and procedural difficulties faced using the Learning Management System(LMS).
