  • Supply chain is viewed as a number of organizations(at least three) working cooperatively with at least some shared objectives. The concept of supply chain management represents the most advanced state in the evolutionary development of purchasing, procurement and other supply chain activities. This study aims to analyze and develop a measurement instrument for supply chain performance in international logistics. A measurement instrument for supply chain performance in international logistics are developed by Lai et al(2002). Supply chain reliability, customer service and cost are constructed reflecting service effectiveness and operations efficiency between shipper, forwarder and liner. The results of this study are as follow. We firstly tested the measurement properties of the sub-dimension of the supply chain performance construct using reliability test and confirmatory factor analysis follow by exploratory factor analysis. For each of the factor, reliability and validity are achieved because of the significant loading of the measurement items on their latent factors. Further research perform the analysis of variance by multi respondents within each firm and across partner firms in the supply chain. The result of analysis present the difference with shipper, forwarder and liner in statistics.

  • Purpose: The study was done to identify the construct validity and reliability of the life transition scale (LTS) for parents who have children with autism. Methods: Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmative factor analysis (CFA) were conducted to identify the most adequate measurement model for structural validity. Convergent validity and discriminant validity were also conducted for structural validity. Data were collected from 208 parents through self-reported questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS/WIN 15.0 and AMOS 20.0 version. Results: A four factor-structure was validated (${\chi}^2$=541.23, p<.001, GFI=.82, RMSEA=.07, IFI=.89, CFI=.89, PNFI=.73, Q (${\chi}^2/df$)=2.20) at the 3rd order of EFA and CFA, and factors were named as denying, wandering, despairing, and accepting. Both convergent and determinant validity for LTS were 100%. Cronbach's alphas for the reliability of each structure were .77-.90 and .83 for total structure. Conclusion: The four structures, 24-item instrument showed satisfactory reliability and validity. LTS has the potential to be appropriate for assessing the transition process of life for parents who have children with autism and provides basic directions for differentiated support and care at each stage.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the preference determinants of buddhist temple food(BTF) and leaded to its activation based on these results. 354 subjects were participated in the survey using questionnaires. 66.9% of subjects had over the normal interest. The taste of BTF was light(34.7%) and it would be helpful in their health(72.9%), subjects answered. Lightness and not strong taste was the main reason of preferring BTF(50.8%), but lack of nutrients was dislike reason of BTF generally. According to factor analysis, the factors of preference determinants deduced as the external form, social environment, health, essential quality and information of food. There were not significantly different between factors by sex and family form. External form, health and essential quality of food had the significant difference by generation and education level. The factors of external form and the essential quality of food showed the significant difference by job. According to the monthly income, the factor of social environment, health and information of food had the significant difference.

  • Inhalational anthrax is caused by B. anthracis, a virulent sporeforming bacterium which secretes anthrax toxins consisting of protective antigen (PA), lethal factor (LF) and edema factor (EF). LF is a Zn-dependent metalloprotease and is the main determinant in the pathogenesis of anthrax. Here we report the identification of a lead small-molecule inhibitor of anthrax lethal factor by screening an available synthetic small-molecule inhibitor library using fluorescence-based high-throughput screening (HTS) approach. Seven small molecules were found to have inhibitory effect against LF activity, among which SM157 had the highest inhibitory activity. All theses small molecule inhibitors inhibited LF in a noncompetitive inhibition mode. SM157 and SM167 are from the same family, both having an identical group complex, which is predicted to insert into S1' pocket of LF. More potent small-molecule inhibitors could be developed by modifying SM157 based on this identical group complex.

  • This study is to test the influence of stock option granting information on the firm's performance. The important issue in stock option is that agent cost is the important determinant factor for the long term performance. The agent cost arises between the manager and shareholders. So many study are concentrated in diminishing the agent cost, and develop some substitute tools to measure the agent cost. The event study about stock option analyzes returns around event date at a time. Event study provides estimation periods and cumulative returns. Announcements about stock option are generally associated with positive abnormal returns in short term period, but not showing positive effect in long term period. It is important to investigate the responses of stocks to new information contained in the announcements of stock option. Therefore it is important to study the long term performance in the case of stock option. The event time portfolio approach exists the CAR model, BHAR model and WR model. And the calendar time portfolio approach has the 3 factor model, 4 factor model, CTAR model, and RATS model. This study is forced to develop and arrange two approach method in evaluating the performance, the event time portfolio approach and calendar time portfolio approach.

  • Purpose: This study examined how many determinant factors (service dimensions, food quality, and price perception) affect revisit intention. This practical concept is service quality (SERVQUAL), customer satisfaction, and repeated/revisit behavioral intention based on the theory of reasoned action (TRA). Research design, data and methodology: This research applied a hybrid mixed-method comprising exploratory and explanatory sequential design by Creswell (2014). The 400 responses were collected in four townships in Myanmar. This study drilled down to exploratory factor analysis (EFA) followed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) prior to test the hypothesized factor structure of all the variables resulted in the form of the goodness of fit. For further data analysis, structural equation modeling (SEM) was applied to test the relationships among the variables of the proposed model. Results: The results showed that perceived service quality, food quality, and price perception have direct effects on customer satisfaction and indirect effect on revisit intention. The perceived service quality has the most significant influence while the food quality has the least influence on customer satisfaction. Conclusions: The results are useful for the restaurant managers to better understand the significant strategic choice factors to improve higher quality service amongst restaurants both domestic and international under the stiff competition.

  • This study comprehensively investigates whether there is an impact of risk, size, profitability, earnings per share, dividend yield, and book-to-market equity on the stock prices of Jordanian banks listed on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) for the period 2006-2018. To mitigate endogeneity concerns and to control for within-bank dynamics, panel data fixed effects estimations are used. This study shows that size (SIZE), profitability (ROA), dividend yield (DY) and book-to-market equity (BE/ME) ratios are statistically significant determinants of stock prices. The risk (RISK) factor measured by volatility of ROA has a positive and significant effect on the stock prices, while earnings per share has minimum influence on the stock prices. The results show that ROA has a significant and positive effect and provides the largest effect among all variables used in this study, while the RISK factor has a positive and significant effect. In contrast, SIZE, DY, and BE/ME have a significant negative effect on stock prices. The paper presented new evidence showing that ROA is a better determinant of stock prices in Jordanian banks, and RISK significantly affects stock prices. The researcher recommends using a factor of profitability represented by ROA which has a significant positive effect on the stock prices in Jordanian banks and applying the ROA variable to other sectors.

  • This study investigates the ultimate factor structure of consumer dissatisfaction with the off-line purchase and usage of clothing. It identifies the determinant dimensions of consumer dissatisfaction on clothing purchase and usage and investigates the hierarchical structure of consumer dissatisfaction by assessing and comparing the effectiveness of five alternative factor structure models. A total of 300 women were online-surveyed to assess the level of dissatisfaction based on their dissatisfying experience with clothing purchases and usage in terms of product quality, price, salesperson's attitude, and store environment. The exploratory factor analysis identified the underlying dimensions of dissatisfaction: Handling, Aesthetics, Salesperson, Size, Price, Product Quality, Service, and Environment. By employing a first-order confirmatory factor analysis and higher-order confirmatory factor analysis, consumer dissatisfaction was confirmed to have a hierarchical structure with three second-order constructs Intrinsic instrument is manifested by handling, quality, and size, Intrinsic expression consists of service, salesperson, and environment, and Extrinsic circumstance contains aesthetics and price. On empirically demonstrating the multi-dimensional constructs of consumer dissatisfaction by identifying its hierarchical structure, the study provides the theoretical and practical insights to comprehend consumer purchase and post-purchase behavior. Specifically, it affords an empirical platform to extend the scope of research with condensed concepts of dissatisfaction to researchers. In addition, it also enables marketers to take a broader view of consumer dissatisfaction by providing cues about potential problems and identifying the source of those problems.

  • The purpose of this study is that we regard the notion of reality that television viewers feel as presence, point out problem of measurement tool that appropriate for TV, clarify the subordinate concept of presence, and develop measurement tool that have reliability and validity. To achieve this, we paid attention to reality of television as a determinant of presence and tried to elicit proper subcategories. That is, we progressed two steps research that distinguished external characteristic and content of the media into sensible reality and cognitive reality, and develop measure item and verified statistical validity. We analyzed the second research result about measurement category of presence selected by first research and then we did Exploratory factor analysis and Confirmatory factor analysis. As a result, the first characteristic that make people experience presence is sensible reality, that is, it is the factor of sensible faithfullness, image faithfullness, and image reality as the form factor of the media. The second characteristic is cognitive reality. That is the factor of social reality, relational reality, and practical reality as the factor of media content. Synthesizing these subordinate factor, we can conceptualize presence experience as a reality of media form and content in HDTV viewing environment.

  • This paper is to estimate the total factor productivity(TFP) in the Korean manufacturing and service industries during the period 1975:1-2016:4 using the stochastic frontier analysis model. In order to analyze the determinants for the total factor productivity the paper estimates the industry-specific determinant elasticities of TFP using the autoregressive distributed model. The industry-specific determinants, which reflect the industrial structure and properties include markup, the ratio of capital to labor(KL), and the ratio of foreign intermediate goods (FIG) to industrial output. The average value for total factor productivity growth was estimated to be 0.0199 in manufacturing and 0.0063 in the service industry. The markup and KL elasticities of TFP were estimated to be 2.481 and 0.651 in manufacturing respectively and -1.403 and 0.042 in the service industry respectively. The empirical results suggest that the industrial markup and the ratio of capital to labor have had decisive effects on the changes in the total factor productivity in the Korean manufacturing and service industries during the period 1975:1-2016:4.
