The Thrust and Normal Force Analysis of Hybrid Linear Pulse Motor

  • This paper described the forces analysis of a hybrid linear pulse motor (HLPM) with high accuracy and repeatability. The HLPM is fed from a phase current by microstepping drive. The finite element method (FEM) is employed for calculating the force. The forces between mover(forcer) and stator(platen) have been calculated using the virtual work method. The detent force, rate of tooth width to tooth pitch and magnetic saturation were analyzed to considered the distortion characteristics of static thrust. The thrust to displacement produced a high pulsating force while the normal force is much higher than the thrust force.

  • Linear motor is an energy conversion device which makes kinetic energy from electrical energy. This paper presents a method to reduce torque ripples by variation of the current. The torque ripples are basically caused by detent force so this method has a focus on reducing detent force. The torque ripples were calculated by finite element method.

  • Due to various advantages over the conventional linear motion device such as ball-screw, linear motors have been used in wide variety of industrial applications for years. Driven by increased demand for precision machine tools, the importance of high positioning accuracy, high stiffness and high thrust are greatly increasing. In this paper, thrust ripple, detent force and thermal behavior are considered for the development of high performance linear motor whose thrust is up to 4, 000N. This paper presents a comprehensive study for an iron core type linear motor characteristics that include the influence of PM position on thrust thrust ripple by detent farce and motor dynamics as well.

  • The inherent drawback of iron-core type permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) is detent force that is dependent on several major factors such as PM length, slot clearance, and skewing. To minimize the detent force, this paper proposes a structure optimization using the combination computation of two dimensional (2-D) finite element analysis (FEA) and response surface methodology (RSM). The RSM, that is a collection of the statistical and mathematical techniques, is utilized to predict the global optimal solution based on the FEA calculated results of the detect forces for different combinations of factors. With the help of the combination computation the high capacity iron-core type PMLSM with more than 12000 N propulsion forces only contains less than 3 N detent forces.

  • The detent force of a permanent magnet linear motor(PMLM) consists of the end force and cogging force, and should be reduced for high precision purpose applications. The cogging force comes from the electromagnetic interaction between the permanent magnets and interior teeth(or the slots) of the stator, and of which the magnitude depends on the ratio of the numbers of the armature and permanent magnet poles as well as the geometrical shape of the permanent magnet and armature pole. In order to reduce the cogging force of a PMLM, this paper proposes a new configuration which has 9 permanent magnet poles and 10 armature winding slots. By theoretical investigation of the principle of cogging force generation and simulating using finite element method, the proposed PMLM configuration is proven to give much less cogging force than the conventional configuration which has 8 permanent magnet poles and 12 armature winding slots. A proper winding algorithm, modified (A, A, A) winding method, for the proposed configuration is also suggested when the proposed PMLM is operating as a 3 phase synchronous machine. A theoretical and numerical calculation shows that the proposed configuration makes slightly bigger back-emf and thrust force under same exciting current and total number of winding turns condition.

  • This paper presents the vibration reduction of PMLSM according to permanent magnet array. The detent force and the lateral force arc generating the thrust ripple that cause vibration in PMLSM. The detent force, the thrust and the lateral force is analyzed by 3D FEM. And the acceleration sensor is used for experimentation of vibration.

  • 선형 하이브리드 스테핑 전동기는 간단한 구조와 저가의 구동 방식으로 위치 제어를 요구하는 일부 반도체 공정 및 사무실 자동화 기기 등에서 최근 각광을 받고 있다. 그러나, 구조가 간단한 반면 이로 인한 릴럭턴스 및 코깅 추력에 의한 리플 때문에 아직까지 고부가가치의 정밀 공정에는 적용이 제한되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 선형 하이브리드 스테핑 전동기의 추력 리플 발생 원인을 분석하고 이를 통하여 리플 추력을 상쇄하는 고성능 폐루프 제어 방식을 제안한다. 실험실에서 제작된 선형 하이브리드 스테핑 전동기에 대한 다양한 실험 결과를 통하여 해석 및 제안된 방법의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • The problem is improving the positioning precision of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). Thus, this paper presents the design and realization of an adaptive dither to reduce the force ripple in PMLSM. A composite control structure is used, consisting of three components: a simple feed-forward component, a PID feedback component and an adaptive feed-forward compensator (AFC). Especially adaptive feed-forward component cancel out detent force using wavelet transformation. Computer simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for high precision motion trajectory tracking using the PMLSM

  • 본 논문에서는 철심형 영구자석 선형동기전동기(PMLSM, Steel-Cored Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor)에서 운전 특성을 고려한 설계 특성 및 전략 등에 대한 내용을 다룬다. 특히 반송장치의 운송궤적에서 요구하는 동적특성과 전동기의 동적용량(Dynamic Capability)을 고려한 동적제약조건(Dynamic Constraints) 규정을 통하여, 짧은 변위의 급가감속 왕복운전을 위한 철심형 PMLSM의 최적설계 전략을 살펴본다. 이와 더불어 동특성이 두드러진 PMLSM의 설계특성으로 열적인 특성, 디텐트력 해석 및 저감, 그리고 자계의 포화특성에 대하여 추가 고찰한다.
