Bootstrap Bandwidth Selection Methods for Local Linear Jump Detector

  • Local linear jump detection in a discontinuous regression function involves the choice of the bandwidth and the performance of a local linear jump detector depends heavily on the choice of the bandwidth. However, little attention has been paid to this important issue. In this paper we propose two fully data adaptive bandwidth selection methods for a local linear jump detector. The performance of the proposed methods are investigated through a simulation study.

Optical Characterization of Superconducting Strip Photon Detector Using $MgB_2$

  • Bias current dependence of a superconducting strip photon detector is studied in the wavelength range of 405 to 1310 nm. The detector is made of an $MgB_2$ meander pattern with the line width of 135 nm and thickness of 10 nm. At 1310 nm, the detection efficiency exponentially decreases as the bias current decreases. While at 405 nm, the detection efficiency almost saturates in the high bias current region. These features suggest that the intrinsic detection efficiency of the $MgB_2$ detector is high at 405 nm.

  • 본 논문에서는 시스템 수준 설계 언어인 SystemC를 이용하여 디지털 이미지 프로세싱의 한 부분인 Edge Detector 구현에 대하여 기술한다. Edge Detector는 마스크의 가운데 픽셀을 강조하는 Sobel 알고리즘을 사용하여 모델링 하였으며, 설계된 디자인의 동작은 간단한 BMP 파일을 적용하여 검증하였다. 또한 Edge Detector를 구성하는 하위 모듈들 간의 연결을 각각 sc_buffer 채널과 so_fifo 채널을 이용하여 설계하였을 때의 실행시간을 비교하였다.

A nonparametric detection scheme of composite signals in additive noise (덧셈 잡음에서 합성신호의 비모수 검파기)

  • In this paper, rank-based nonparmetric detection of composite signals in additive noise is considered. Based on signs and ranks of observations, the locally optimum detector is deived for weak-signal detection under any specified noise probability density funhction. This detector has similarities to the locally optimum detector for comjposite signals in additive noise. The asymptotic performance of this nonparametric detector is shown to be as good as that of the locally optimum detector.

  • In this paper, we first propose a modified OS CFAR detector called the order statistics cell averaging(OSCA) CFAR detector and anlyze its performance for a Rayleigh target in homogeneous backgrounds, clutter edges, and satistics smallest of(OSSO) CFAR detectors for a Rayleigh target to nonhomogeneous environments. Computer simulation results show that the OSCA CFAR detector has superior performance to OS, OSGO, and OSSO CFAR detectors in homogeneous and multiple target environments. And the proposed detector shows its robustness for fast detection because it requires falf the processing time of the OS CFAR detector.

  • 본 논문에서는 Porous Si(PSi)의 Photoluminescence(PL)특성을 이용한 UV detector를 이론적으로 고찰하곤 제작하였다. PSi의 PL에 의해 발생하는 빛의 피크 파장과 photodiode의 흡수영역을 최적화하여 UV detector의 효율을 극대화 시켰다. 제작된 PSi detector는 기존의 Si에 비해 반응 표면적을 증가시킬 수 있다는 장점이 있어 optical biosensor에 응용이 기대 된다.

5-GHz Delay-Locked Loop Using Relative Comparison Quadrature Phase Detector

  • A Quadrature phase detector for high-speed delay-locked loop is introduced. The proposed Quadrature phase detector is composed of two nor gates and it determines if the phase difference of two input clocks is 90 degrees or not. The delay locked loop circuit including the Quadrature phase detector is fabricated in a 0.18 um Standard CMOS process and it operates at 5 GHz frequency. The phase error of the delay-locked loop is maximum 2 degrees and the circuits are robust with voltage, temperature variations.

Study of the Usefulness of Tiltable standing detector in Testing Shoulder Joint Superoinferior axial (견관절 Superoinferior axial 검사 시 Tiltable standing detector의 유용성에 관한 고찰)

  • In this study, we compared the alteration of test positions according to various test equipments when testing shoulder joint superoinferior axial to estimate the clinical usefulness of tiltable standing detector. Our objectives were patients who visited our hospital. Among them we chose patients who were prescribed to get a shoulder axial test, again we selected 30 patients whose abduction is more than 90 degree.(2008. Nov.$\sim$2009 Jan.) With the patients cooperation, we used CR(Agfa, Belgium), fixed-detector(Canon, japan), Tiltable-detector(Philips, Netherlands). Tested with only one equipment(tiltable detector), and posed with the other two. We surveyed 5 inspectors and 30 patients, asking them to rate the convenience of test position. Also, we checked how long it takes to have the image appear on screen after testing with the equipment We provided a standard for an assessment of the image to an expert in bone radiology, an orthopedist and a radiologist with 5 years experience. When the patients were asked about the convenience of the equipments, 15 people(50%) answered CR is convenient and 14 people(46.7%) answered the Tilting detector is convenient, showing not much difference. However, when the inspectors were asked the same question, 4people(80%) out of 5 answered that the Tilting detector is more convenient The time test showed that CR takes 2 minutes and 50 seconds, the Fixed detector 1minute and 48 seconds andor had no distortion showing the shoulder joint space. However, even though the Fixed detector showed ac the Tilting detector takes 1 minute and 43 seconds to bring the image to the screen after the position. The results of the value of image taken by each equipment, CR and the Tilting detectromion, coracoid process, due to the unstable pose, they were quite distorted and scored poor in observing glenoid fossa. By this study, we can see that testing the shoulder joint superoinferior axial projection with a detector that has a tilting device would be more convenient than testing it with a CR.

A Study on the Reliability Analysis for Smoke Detector using Dust (분진을 이용한 연기감지기 신뢰성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a study on the analyzing reliability of smoke fire detector using accelerated life test. In general, the smoke fire detector is broken by dust which flow in smoke detection chamber. In order to conduct accelerated life test of smoke fire detector dust is set accelerated factor in this paper. The dust is fly-ash which is test particle 5th regulated by KS A 0090. The dust accelerated level is 60 g, 180 g and 360 g and failure time is measured by smoke sensitivity testing. It is considered to failure of detector if detector don't operate within 30 secconds when subjected to an air stream having a velocity of 20 cm/s~40 cm/s containing smoke with a concentration of 15% of rate of light-response of 1 m. The goodness of fit test and mean life prediction conduct using the failure time. The result show that life distribution fits the weibull distribution for failure time data and the mean lifes calculate 22.5 year in domestic product and 14.7 years in overseas product applied dust stress only.

Low-Noise Detector Design for Measuring the Electric Conductivity of Liquids (액체의 전기 전도도 측정을 위한 저잡음 검출기 설계)

  • In this paper, design of a conductivity detector using a synchronous demodulation is presented to detect the electric conductivity of liquids with low noise. For the purpose, the detector is constructed by the combination of a carrier generator, conductivity detecting cell, and synchronous demodulator. The signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of the detector is improved by adjusting the frequency bandwidth of the demodulator, whereby infinitesimal conductivity signals can easily be measured under various noise environments. As an application example, a conductivity detector, which is applied to the air monitoring in a fabrication process of semiconductor chips, is designed using the synchronous demodulation. The validity of the design technique is verified by experiments. Since experimental results are shown to approach the design performance of the detector, the synchronous demodulation proves to be useful to the design of a conductivity detector for measuring the infinitesimal electric conductivity of liquids.
