변위계수법 및 약산식 내진성능평가에 기초한 비보강 조적조 건물의 내진보강 요구강도 산정 (Strength Demand Calculation for Retrofitting Unreinforced Masonry Buildings Based on the Displacement Coefficient Method and the Preliminary Seismic Evaluation Procedure)

  • Based on the nonlinear static analysis and the approximate seismic evaluation method adopted in "Guidelines for seismic performance evaluation for existing buildings, two methods to calculate strength demand for retrofitting individual structural walls in unreinforced masonry buildings are proposed." The displacement coefficient method to determine displacement demand from nonlinear static analysis results is used for the inverse calculation of overall strength demand required to reduce the displacement demand to a target value meeting the performance objective of the unreinforced masonry building to retrofit. A preliminary seismic evaluation method to screen out vulnerable buildings, of which detailed evaluation is necessary, is utilized to calculate overall strength demand without structural analysis based on the difference between the seismic demand and capacity. A system modification factor is introduced to the preliminary seismic evaluation method to reduce the strength demand considering inelastic deformation. The overall strength demand is distributed to the structural walls to retrofit based on the wall stiffness, including the remaining walls or otherwise. Four detached residential houses are modeled and analyzed using the nonlinear static and preliminary evaluation procedures to examine the proposed method.

  • A new form of construction utilizing structural steel as the boundary elements in ductile flexural concrete walls is proposed to solve the bar congestion problems associated with such a heavily reinforced region. Two wall specimens containing rectangular hollow structural sections(HSS) and channels at their ends respectively were constructed rectangular hollow structural sections(HSS) and channels ar their ends respectively were constructed and tested under reversed cyclic loading to evaluate the construction process as well as the structural performance. One companion standard reinforced concrete wall specimen was also tested for the comparison purpose At an Initial stage all three specimens were carefully detailed to have the approximately same flexural capacity. Analysis and comparison of test results indicated that the reversed cyclic responses of the three walls showed similar hysteretic properties but in those with steel boundaries local bucking of the corresponding steel elements following significant yielding of structural steel was prominent. Design procedures considering local instability of the structural steel elements and the interaction between steel chord and concrete web members in such composite walls are presented.

  • KIER has been running a demonstration project for 10kWe solar thermal power generation. the project is to build and operate the first solar thermal power generation system in Korea. For concentrating solar thermal energy $40m^2$ dish type concentrator was adapted and a stirling engine is going to be integrated to the system for power production. At the moment building the dish concentrator including mirror and sun tracking system was completed and it's performance are being closely evaluated. This paper will introduce some detailed designs and construction procedures which we have experienced so far.

  • 이 논문은 역률제어회로를 갖는 인버터 구동 에어컨에 관해 설명한다. 정류기에 역률제어회로를 적용함에 의해서 전원선으로의 고조파 삽입을 줄일 수 있고, 효율을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 기존의 인버터와 비교해서 전체 시스템 가격을 낮출 수 있다. 또한, 역률제어회로의 출력전압을 안정화함에 의해서 시스템 성능을 향상시킨다. 본 논문에서는 역률제어회로의 자세한 설계절차를 제시하고, 역률제어회로의 여러 가지 장점을 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해서 확인하였다.

  • Solar thermal power generation allows additional benefits of cheap thermal storage and easy hybridization with other fossil fuel-driven power generation. KIER has been performing the project for solar thermal chemical reaction hybrid power generation. The project is to build and operate the first solar thermal chemical reaction hybrid power generation system in Korea. For concentrating solar thermal energy $m^2$ dish type concentrator was adapted and a heliostat is installed for reflecting horizontal insolation to the dish concentrator. At the moment building the dish concentrator including mirror and heliostat with sun tracking system was completed and it's performance are being closely evaluated. This paper will introduce some detailed designs and construction procedures which we have experienced so far.

  • In the area of clustering, there are numerous approaches to construct clusters in the input space. For regression problem, when forming clusters being a part of the overall model, the relationships between the input space and the output space are essential and have to be taken into consideration. Conditional Fuzzy C-Means (c-FCM) clustering offers an opportunity to analyze the structure in the input space with the mechanism of supervision implied by the distribution of data present in the output space. However, like other clustering methods, c-FCM focuses on the distribution of the data. In this paper, we introduce a new method, which by making use of the ambiguity index focuses on the boundaries of the clusters whose determination is essential to the quality of the ensuing classification procedures. The introduced design is illustrated with the aid of numeric examples that provide a detailed insight into the performance of the fuzzy classifiers and quantify several essentials design aspects.

한국과 미국, EU의 FTA협정 상 원산지검증에 대한 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on FTA Verification System Among Korea vs USA, EU)

  • Origin verification is regarded most essential for FTA performance administration. This administration is divided into direct and indirect system where Korea has adapted indirect system to Korea-EU FTA while direct system to Korea-USA FTA. A comparative analysis was conducted on the system of origin verification and provisions contained in preferential tariff law of each countries. The study finds that Korean origin verification system is a bit lack of procedural provision resulting in less protection of domestic trader's rights. Another point is that Korean Customs Authority is weak, in respect of organization and man power, to protect illegal bilateral tariff application by counter part FTA countries. And therefore this study suggests the policy makers to arrange detailed FTA origin verification procedures with earliest meeting with counter part FTA countries, and further stress that make up of organization and man power for origin verification in a timely manner.

비행선 여압장치 설계 및 시험 (Design and Tests of an Airship Pressurization System)

  • Pressurization system of a 50m unmanned airship was manufactured according to the detailed design. In this paper. the whole procedures including system design. simulation and fabrication were described. The fabricated part were ground tested to check compliances with design requirements. Ground tests include operational tests, leakage tests, endurace tests and low temperature environmental tests. Results shows pressurization system of a 50m unmanned airship meets design requirements. Currently. pressurization system is installed to the KARI airship, Via 50m and performance verification through the flight tests are being conducted.

저궤도 위성의 본체 초기 점검 (Spacecraft Bus Initial Activation and Checkout of a LEO Satellite)

  • 지구 저궤도 위성은 발사체에서 분리된 이후 탑재 소프트웨어에 의해 자동으로 초기 동작을 수행한다. 이후 본체 초기 점검 기간 동안의 지상국 접속을 통해 정상 운용 모드로의 전환을 준비한다. 먼저 태양 전지판 전개 여부를 포함한 위성의 건강 상태를 확인한 이후 각 장치의 기능을 점검한다. 정상 운용 모드에 사용되는 모든 장치의 활성화가 완료된 이후 영상 촬영을 위한 기동 성능을 점검하며, 궤도 조정을 위한 기능을 점검한다. 초기 기능 점검은 한정된 지상국 교신 시간동안 수행되므로 사전에 모든 절차가 상세히 설계되어야 한다. 초기 점검 절차는 지상국 접속 시간에 따라 구분되어 수행된다. 또한 발생 가능한 모든 상황을 대비한 절차도 준비되어야 한다. 정상적인 점검 절차 수행 중에 발생할 수 있는 다양한 상황 및 예상치 못한 긴급 상황에 대한 조치 절차도 준비되어야 한다. 이러한 긴급 절차도 지상국 교신 시간을 고려해 설계된다. 저궤도 위성은 성공적으로 발사되었으며, 본체 초기 점검도 성공적으로 완료되었다. 이 논문에서는 저궤도 위성의 본체 초기 점검 설계 및 수행 결과에 대해 설명한다.

  • 현재 국내에서 적용되고 있는 입력중심형의 사업추진 절차(Input-oriented procurment process)하에서 민간투자사업은 민간의 창의성 도출과 민간 자본의 유입이라는 본래의 장점을 살리고 있지 못해 영국 등 선진국의 민간투자사업 등에서 추진되고 있는 성능중심적 방식(Performance(or Output)-oriented Procurement Process)의 도입이 시급한 실정이다 현재 국내에서는 민간투자사업의 본래 목적인 민간의 창의성 및 효율성으로서 인프라 서비스를 제공한다는 취지에 부합하지 못하는 면이 있다. 이러한 국내의 현황과는 달리 국외에서는 특히 영국을 중심으로 정부가 필요한 서비스를 공급하기 위한 새로운 개념으로서 서비스를 제공하기 위해 건설하는 시설물을 어떤 작업을 통하여 만드는가에 중심을 두는 것이 아니라 그 시설물이 제공하는 최종 목표인 서비스의 성능에 중심을 둔 개념으로 각 14개의 추진절차상에 성능중심적 개념을 도입하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 성능지향적 추진체계를 성능중심적 방식으로 정의하고 민간투자사업의 성능중심적 방식도입에 관한 기초연구로서 PSC(Public Sector Comparator)의 활용방안과 도입방안을 제시하였으며 향후 실질적인 도입을 위해서 기술분야와 제도 및 법령분야에서 구체적인 연구 및 실무작업이 필요할 것으로 사료되며 향후과제로 제시하였다.
