Humans desire the achievement a of sense of unity between themselves and place to create an identity of place as a realization of his or her sense of belonging. Humans develop ideas from their culture and environment to be expressed physically within the landscape through symbols. Symbols are formed within a place through the structure of the space and, more visually, through the details. The purpose of this paper is to examine the structure of space and the details of 'the Courtyard of the lions' in the Alhambra and to study how the details influence the formation of the identity of place. This paper also compares the structure and details in terms of the meaning of symbols, design languages, cultural, social and historical background and the experience of the place. The structure of the space in 'the Courtyard of the Lions' represents Paradise in the Islamic religion a common theme in the composition of traditional Islamic gardens. The design languages expressed within the structure are order, balance, accent and enclosure; the inherit meanings of the structure are religion, the natural environment and way of life. The details tell of the ideology of Paradise, royalty, nature, and praise of God, while their design languages include physical and visual continuity, accent, variation, the feeling of movement, rhythm, and depth perception. The details also express the historical background of the Dynasty of Nasrid and the style of Mudejar. The name 'the Courtyard of the Lions' was taken from the detail of the lim figures, details within the landscape which are important in building an identity of place. This study demonstrates that the details at 'the Courtyard of the lions' achieved a sense of unity between man and place. In conclusion, details have immense influence in building of the identity of place.

The current distribution structure in Korea film industry is in the multiplex chain. As a result, most small or medium-sized theaters have been excluded from the market, and all the multiplex chain have gradually been formed into the vertical integration structure. The strike by multiplex theaters in Chuncheon who did not screen for one month led to the problem of the vertical integration, which resulted in many effects. Particularly, it caused considerable effect on the cultural desire and instigated movie-goers to turn to illegal content. This study surveys the process in which Korean multiplex theaters in vertical integration structure took over the Korean film market, and consequently, small theaters collapsed, and the theaters in vertical integration structure kick out small theaters in horizontal integration structure, and conducts a survey on the effect of the one-month strike by Chuncheon CGV from September 27 to October 30, 2008 in Chuncheon where said processes had completed so as to determine the effect of and impact of the problem of the vertical integration, monopoly structure. When major consumers of the film industry, i.e., people in their 20s, see their access to newly released films limited due to closing of multiplex theaters, they feel the impulse to access illegal contents. If they miss viewing the newly released films, they prefer to view illegal contents or films on recording media rather than visiting theaters showing those films. They are also influenced by timing of film release. Specifically, methods of illegal access to newly released films, permanent accessibility to them via recording media, and timing of film release influence their viewing patterns.

Purpose: This study was designed to search for nursing intervention strategies centering around the meaning structure of the nurse's turnover experience by applying phenomenological methods. Methods: The participants were 6 nurses in small and medium sized hospitals who had experienced at least 1 turnover. Data were collected used MP3 records. The data analysis was done by Giorgi (1985) method. Results: The results were divided into the following categories: 1) Careless decision: wrong decisions, imprudent desire, insufficient patience, unclear future, 2) Inappropriate working environment: irregular working hours, high workload, poor working environment, insufficient understanding of related divisions, lack of opinion collection, low salary, 3) Interpersonal relations problems: discord with colleagues, difficulty in relationships with others, difficulty in daily lives, 4) Lack of specialization: feeling of inertia, lack of role identification, lack of self identification, 5) Inappropriate coping: regret with clinical challenges, difficulty with a new environment, repentance, expectation, relative humility, 6) New self-dignity: expectation, new challenge, relaxing lives, decisions based on future-oriented confidence. Conclusion: The finding of this study will offer profound information on the nurse's turnover experience and provide basic raw materials for improving the quality of nursing performance and contribute to the development of hospital organization.

Variable Curvature Friction Pendulum (VCFP) bearing is one of the alternatives to control excessive induced responses of isolated structures subjected to near-fault ground motions. The curvature of sliding surface in this isolator is varying with displacement and its function is non-spherical. Selecting the most appropriate function for the sliding surface depends on the design objectives and ground motion characteristics. To date, few polynomial functions have been experimentally tested for VCFP however it needs comprehensive parametric study to find out which one provides the most effective behavior. Herein, seismic performance of the isolated structure mounted on VCFP is investigated with two different polynomial functions of the sliding surface (Order 4 and 6). By variation of the constants in these functions through changing design parameters, 120 cases of isolators are evaluated and the most proper function is explored to minimize floor acceleration and/or isolator displacement under different hazard levels. Beside representing the desire sliding surface with adaptive behavior, it was shown that the polynomial function with order 6 has least possible floor acceleration under seven near-field ground motions in different levels.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the basic design elements for dwelling environment planning of downtown in Taegu.The evaluation of the dwelling environment should be approached from the satisfaction and the cognitive of the residents, that are based on their desire and various values on the conditions of residential area. This paper concerns the satisfaction and the congnitive image structure of the residents in the various dwelling types, from which design elements for dwelling environments can be derived. The results are as folIows: 1) The analysis on the satisfaction of dwell ins environment shows lots of displeasure about the lack of open-spaces and the housing low-quality, neighborhood in Mun-hwa, Korean style housing and the low-rise apartment areas. In order to make the variety types of dowelling in downtown district, the improvement of housing qualities and the expantion of the urban facilities for the open-spaces and communities are need. 2) The design elements of dwelling environments in downtown find out the important planning elements for urban design. The evaluation of the cognitive image structures about the safety and affection should be considered in design for urban dwelling areas.

The present study attempted to offer more insights into the foreign consumers' consumption decision structure of Korean restaurants located in foreign countries. A survey was designed based on the means-end chain theory, using the laddering interview technique. The qualitative data obtained from 10 Americans, 10 Japanese, and 10 Chinese were content analyzed and resulted in categories such as 'new experience', 'interest in Korea', 'recommendation', 'good food', 'easy to access', 'service', 'dining environment', and 'price' as perceived attributes of choice. The hierarchical value maps linking attributes, psychological consequences, and terminal values were presented. The most frequent consequences were 'experience new culture', 'be exposed to new experience', and 'learn more about Korea' which were related to 'happiness', 'pleasure', 'good relationship', 'desire fulfillment', and 'self-satisfaction' as personal values. Laddering interviews, which required laborious analysis, provided important information on the relationship between perceived attributes and the reasons for choosing Korean restaurants.

Especially, artistic elements of modern arts are being introduced as motives, and of which representative is e introduction of kinetic art which is thought the artistic approval on mechanization trend in the 20th century. Thus, the study was intended to investigate how and in what forms the various features of kinetic arts is reflected in the modern hair shaping, and to suggest a new prospect of kinetic art-applied hair shaping.

In this study, we define the measuring method of crank angle precisely using an event and perform a study on the hardware structure and software algorithms which is applicable for the commercial engine. Also we developed a Computer-ECU(Personal computer based electronic control unit) using a computer and a microprocessor, for performing the ignition at a desire position(angle) and for controlling a duty ratio a pulse for ISC(Idle speed control). We applied these algorithms to the modeling which is induced a concept of event and got a better result than a conventional ECU in the state of transient as a result of performing air fuel ratio control in a commercial engine. This technique can be used for the back to improve ECU performance. It the present type of Hybrid I. C voltage regulator is altered to the new type of regulator, we will be surely able to reduce the production cost as well as simplify the design of alternator\`s rear bracket and rectifier part because of the removal of trio diode. Experiment is taken by MS-R004.

This study analyzed the fashionable characteristics of functional fashion mask types. This study reviewed the literature on masks and analyzed fashion photos found in fashion books, fashion collections and on internet fashion sites. The results were categorized into four characteristics. Integration of structure and function showed mask designs that connected to the hood and portable items. It represented the reflection of nomadic life, liberation, obscurity and the consciousness of discomfort. Signs of playfulness showed mask hybrids and animal images, the mask hybrids and humanoid images, the printing of animal characters, body parts and unusual material hybrids. It represented the liberation from a fixed identity, the loss of seriousness, the reduction of tension and the pursuit of pleasure and freedom. The duplicity of aggression and protection showed a futuristic or aggressive helmet facemask, an enclosed mask of intensive color, and the morphological hybrid of a disgusting or aggressive motif. It represented the end of human weakness, the desire of new self-expression and the longing of superhuman power. Fanciful decoration showed masks with glittery decoration, sunglasses with luxury decoration material, a medical facemask made of lace material and fanciful printing. It showed one facet of extreme consumption, the creation of new personality and value, the pursuit of high quality and a mutual coexistence of status and anonymity.

Purpose: A Phenomenological study was conducted to investigate the experiences of infertile women who had an unsuccessful in vitro fertilization(IVF) attempt and the structure of these experiences was identified in a socio-cultural context. Method: In-depth interviews were done with five participants from Nov. 1997 to Feb. 1998. Data was recorded and analyzed by Colazzi's method. Result: Significant statements were extracted from the data resulting in 4 themes and 11 concepts. The concepts were: 'lack of information', 'unable to anticipate the outcome', 'reaffirmation of need', 'financial strain', 'emotional suppression', 'change of social relationships', 'physical fatigue', 'blaming oneself or God', 'trying different ways', 'famous place shopping', and 'praying to God'. The significant themes of the participants' experiences with IVF emerged as: "uncertainty", "burden", "blaming" and "vigorous desire". Conclusion: The results indicate that the care of infertile women with an unsuccessful IVF attempt should be based on a deep understanding of their personal experiences. Also, information on alternative choices should be offered and supported.
