Johannes Vermeer is one of the masters in the 17th century Dutch Genre Painting. Genre Painting represented the mundane everyday life and humble domestic spaces of the time. It was so unique in the history of western art. Most common subjects of the medieval art had been myths, historical heroes, and the christianity up to that time. However, Dutch Genre Painting that was originated from the 16th century Flandre art has fundamentally changed perception of art. Genre Painting was related to the prosperous development of civil society and early capitalism in the Netherlands of the time. In the paintings of Vermeer, there are unique spatial characteristics. This study aims to 'spatially' analyze the representation of everyday space perceived by the painter himself. Three analytical elements were chosen: light, space, and geometry. These elements have crucial roles to construct a space together within which Vermeer tried to express his discoveries as well as perception of the world. Four paintings were selected to be further analyzed in detail: $\ulcorner$A Maid Asleep$\lrcorner$ (1656-57), $\ulcorner$The Little Street$\lrcorner$ (1658-60), $\ulcorner$The Music Lesson$\lrcorner$ (1662-1665), and $\ulcorner$Young Woman with a Water Pitcher$\lrcorner$ (1662). It has been found that there are distinct spatial aspects in his paintings: Structure of Frontal Layers, Diffusion of Light, and Subtle Geometrical Tension. It is hoped that this sort of interdisciplinary research could enrich the related studies in the field of architecture & interior design, and could help to rediscover the everyday world that we live in here and now.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the continuous forms of time and space that work as architectural design principles of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (Jewish Memorial). Continuity is divided into two, physical and non-physical attributes. The former extends from small installations to furnitures, finishes, spatial composition, and even spatial networks that complete architecture, and the latter is tied to time, from traditional to historical, developmental, commemorative or memorial elements. They are inherent in architecture as continuous forms. The Jewish Memorial is analyzed by the analysing framework of these two items. The analysis of the two layers can be summarized as follows; physical continuity is found in the space networks of the Memorial's inside and outside, the undulating spaces, the finishes, the small furnitures and installations, the entrances of staircases, the expanded underground of the ground order, and non-physical continuity manifests in the topological variation of spatiality, the morphological development of memorial architecture, the connection of semantic sense of space, and the superposition of historicity and modernity. These forms of continuity do not aestheticize the German enormity history, but make the meaning of the Memorial into non-superficial, in-depth architecture as a monument. Thus, the results of this study show that physical and non-physical continuity should be considered as the important design principles of architecture that makes the Memorial architecture possible.
The Expressionism took shape in the early twentieth century, so called as the time of change and innovation which intermediated between the time of extreme prosperity and peace and the time of disruption. This study is based on the wide sense of Expressionism out of various concepts of Expressionism. The afore-mentioned phenomenon was emphasized all the more in the French Expressionism and it is the most important and substantial object in the Art to make a direct transference of emotion , feeling and thought and it could be regarded as one of characteristics of the French Expressionism . In Addition, the Expressionism produced " Aesthetics on Ugliness "Aesthetics des H lichen )" in creating work of art. It was an expression of the Existentialism based on Humanism for modern people who lived at time of nihility and such artistic movement accepted polarity and ambivalance concepts claimed by Nietzsche into three specific fields in accordance with thought and technique in the work of art and those are the Intuitional Expressionism. Cubistic Expressionism and Fantastic Expressionism. This study makes a close analysis of costume style trends on the basis of the categorized Expressionism enumerated as above. The characteristics of Intuitional Expressionism is that poverty and a sense of alienation dominated all society and thus the social reality brought a trend of social participation . This social reality effected significantly modern costume style and a reformative costume turned up at last . This reformative costume was classified into Gar onne look, Military look and Lingerie look by characteristics of style in order to make a close examination for the relationship between social reality and the reformative structure. Cubistic Expressionism effected costume forming and changed costume style through " Deformation " and " Distortion" in forming technique , and also it has developed geometrical style of costume, which could be symbolized by mechanism. And on the other hand, this Cubistic Expressionism has emphasized exaggerated expression ability to produce rigid and stiff style of costume. Fantastic Expression pursued basic artistic worth from the primitive and ethnic customs and accepted fantastic oriental Exoticism . This Fantastic Expressionism effected costume style of twentieh century and such designers as Lon Bakst, Paul Poiret, Elsa Schiapareli adopted intentive primary color. It also applied " Depaysment" to modern costume style , which introduced avant-garde design to give an impact through destruction of the existing traditional concept. This study also analized seven major representative costume designers of the early twentieth century. They are L on Bakst, Paul Poiret, Madeline Vionnet, JeanPatou, Gabriel Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli. These designers deployed creative costume design work with peculiar expression technique based on the French expressionism. The costume study related to art history was so far made mostly to approach costume forming but only a few study is found to have approached idealistic background of art history in connection with creating costume. From that point of view, it is profoundly significant for this study to analize idealistic background and characteristics of Expressionism and relationship between costume and expressionism and to examine modern costume of twntieth century in conjunction with technical characteristics and spiritual sense of Expresionism.eristics and spiritual sense of Expresionism.
The history of design has been closely related with the development of technology. The digital revolution requires design to be as innovative and inventive as the Industrial Revolution had been. In the current society demanding innovation and a new role for design, a successful result can be obtained in the interrelationship between digital and physical environments. In this point of view, exhibition design as a part of space design has had the method of analogue virtual reality, which induces spectators' experiences by creating a virtual environment, as its main expression means before digital technology was introduced. This method was developed from plane images or models to picture techniques according to the development of media technology. Nowadays, the exhibition method introducing multimedia, which enables interactions, is being developed. The main purpose of this study is to identify the meaning and role of virtual space in the view of space design and to analyze its functional interaction. Through this, it attempts to actively promote organic integration and development of widely used cyber space and traditional space design.

Code-compliant seismic design should be essentially applied to realize the so-called emulative performance of precast concrete (PC) lateral force-resisting systems, and this study developed simple procedures to design precast industrial buildings with intermediate precast bearing wall systems considering both the effect of seismic and blast loads. Seismic design provisions specified in ACI 318 and ASCE 7 can be directly adopted, for which the so-called 1.5Sy condition is addressed in PC wall-to-wall and wall-to-base connections. Various coupling options were considered and addressed in the seismic design of wall-to-wall connections for the longitudinal and transverse design directions to secure optimized performance and better economic feasibility. On the other hand, two possible methods were adopted in blast analysis: 1) Equivalent static analysis (ESA) based on the simplified graphic method and 2) Incremental dynamic time-history analysis (IDTHA). The ESA is physically austere to use in practice for a typical industrial PC-bearing wall system. Still, it showed an overestimating trend in terms of the lateral deformation. The coupling action between precast wall segments appears to be inevitably required due to substantially large blast loads compared to seismic loads with increasing blast risk levels. Even with the coupled-precast shear walls, the design outcome obtained from the ESA method might not be entirely satisfactory to the drift criteria presented by the ASCE Blast Design Manual. This drawback can be overcome by addressing the IDTHA method, where all the design criteria were fully satisfied with precast shear walls' non-coupling and group-coupling strength, where each individual or grouped shear fence was designed to possess 1.5Sy for the seismic design.
Wood cutting utilizing CNC art in the field of furniture design industry, art, education are diverse. However, there is lack of data in the case for wood cutting, such as cutting conditions and wood cutting. So this article is to establish furniture design processing using CNC. The researchers investigated the processed products using CNC, the data of the web site and CNC relevant articles, then organized its impact on the furniture industry today. History and definition of CNC have studied for a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages. Then, the researchers analyzed the cases to investigate the wood cutting conditions, was applied to the fabrication of furniture domestic and foreign. CNC organized systematically design information through the computer So, it allowed to reduce the repetitive behavior that has to work hand in the furniture manufacture existing. CNC has made it possible to design a fine complex in furniture design industry. So it became possible to make a new representation and production of various forms. Material about CNC are mostly for milling machine and shelves for metal processing. So, the researchers investigated and precautions general content of wood cutting. The enhanced understanding to investigate an example that is applied outside the country, is used to analyze the expression various techniques CNC. It is difficult to obtain accurate data processing, it has various characteristics in the same timber, Future research is about analyzing type applications and CNC machining range at the time of processing the various wood.
The materials on the development of modern architecture in Korea are being collected and organized in a systemic fashion. However, this is not the case with the materials relative to interior design. They are gradually disappearing or being lost. In particular, no serious attempt has yet been made to determine the characteristics and historic value of the interior design of the modern bank buildings. The purpose of this study is to trace the disappearing legacy of the interior design of modern bank buildings by learning the inner space arrangements of these buildings and the characteristics of modern interior design in order to determine the historic significance of modern commercial interior design. Banks of relatively large scale were selected for the purpose of this study. They consisted of: Chosun Bank(1911) and its Andong, Wonsan and Cheongjin branches; Chosun Shiksan Banks and its Busan, Daegu and Pyongyang branches; the Busan branch of the 18 Bank; Dongil Bank, Chosun Savings Bank(1935) and their branches. The study focused on the space arrangements and design characteristics of these banks. Although they aimed at modernization in designingtheir interior spaces, the modern bank buildings were not representative of any particular style of interior design. While western style designs were prevalent, eclectic designs incorporating many different styles existed. The characteristics of the interior design of banks of the time included installation of such decorations and use of high quality construction materials for interior and exterior expressing the wealth as to create an aura of credibility for the banks, while the floor arrangements were relatively stereotyped and simplified.
Through the technology of the 4th industrial revolution, agricultural machinery is becoming increasingly intelligent, and the machine is replacing the role of farmer manpower as a whole. However, safety accidents caused by careless use of agricultural machines and theft accidents due to the difficulty of keeping them are increasing every year. Because agricultural machines do not manage the history of events and accidents unlike automobiles, they are often used for crime. There is also no way to cope with the issues if there happens issues on agricultural machines. In this paper, we propose the system based on block chain which can manage the history of the agricultural machinery by registering the chassis number at the same time when purchasing the agricultural machinery. Since this system contains the history of accident and repair information about the owner's agricultural machinery, it is possible to trace back even if a theft occurs. The proposed system also allows buyers to secure transactions by providing reliable data through inquiry of this system when trading in the secondary market in the future.
The ephemeral and temporal nature of pavilions is the underlying motivation that led to the development of this paper. From the beginning of the industrial era through contemporary history, there have been many instances of architects attempting to rethink architectural design in the context of modern social, cultural, and technical imperatives. Today, the leading changes in humanity are accompanied by a revolutionary electronic digital medium. The pavilion has been in an amalgamation of architectural integration since the beginning of human history. World's Fairs/Expos have, since their establishment, served as international presentations of goods and achievements of particular nations. They became a popular stage wherein potential architectural achievements were showcased through the evocative architecture of pavilions. Due to the pavilion's "temporary nature," its coverage includes various perspectives: social, historical, geographical, post-colonial, iconographical, temporal, and ephemeral. It has also served as a receptacle due to its representational value at a given time. The pavilion has offered architectural designers, clients, and visitors a place to use their imaginations. Moreover, the architect's role in creating pavilions cannot be overestimated. Due to fact that they abound in symbolism, contemporary designs, and innovative solutions, pavilions often mirror modern mankind and plan for the next aesthetic revolutions and ideological architectural theories. To understand and appreciate architects' original intentions with their pavilions, this paper focuses on noteworthy pavilions that were created from the beginning of industrialization through the present. It explores and discusses the pavilion's characteristics, highlights the significance of its physical form as generated by a specific theme.

This paper addresses a fundamental study that is necessary to complement and improve the current domestic design specifications for the strong motion duration criterion and the envelope function of artificial accelerograms that can be applied to the earthquake-proof design of nuclear structures. The criteria for the design response spectra and strong motion duration suggested by USNRC and ASCE Standard 4-98 are commonly being used in the profession, and they are first compared with each other and reviewed. By applying 209 real strong earthquake records that are greater than 5 in magnitude at rock sites to the strong motion duration criterion in ASCE 4-98, an empirical regression model that predicts the strong motion duration as a function of the earthquake magnitude was then developed. Using synthetically generated earthquake time histories for the 10 cases whose strong motion durations varied from 6 to 20 seconds, extensive seismic analyses were finally conducted to identify the effects of the strong motion durations on the seismic responses of the nuclear power plant containment structures.
