Dressmaking is a high value-added sector of the fashion industry in which the individuality and skills of designers play a prominent role. The appropriate use of the draping and the flat pattern techniques in the dressmaking process also play an important part in perfecting the finished product. The purpose of this study was to improve the understanding of dress design and identify a pattern production technique to enhence efficiency in each of the three elements of the dress manufactureing process. For this purpose, analysis of the design of 1,389 wedding dress photographs published in Wedding 21, Korea's leading wedding magazine, during 2019 and 2020 was conducted. This analysis identified 15 bodice designs and 11 sleeve designs based on neckline and eight skirts based on silhouette which were ranked by frequency distribution. Patterns for the design of samples were then developed according to the highest combined frequency distribution of these three elements. Eight samples were finally produced to test the the efficiency of the patternmaking techniques empolyed and the selected designs. The findings from this study have practical applications, notably in improving the efficiency of pattern production techniques that will facilitate further growth in the dressmaking industry.

본 연구는 다른 분야에서 성공적으로 활용되고 있는 다양한 추천 기법들을 비교하는 사례 연구를 통해 더욱 효과적인 디자인 개인화 서비스 개발의 기회를 모색하고자 하였다. 우선, 문헌연구를 통하여 '컨텐츠 기반 기법', '협력적 필터링 기법', 그리고 '인구통계적 필터링 기법'과 같은 대표적인 추천 기법들의 특징과 장단점을 고찰하였다. 다음으로 이러한 기법들이 디자인과 같은 컨텐츠를 대상으로 적용되었을 때 예상되는 추천 정확성을 분석하기 위해 실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 인구통계적 필터링 기법은 나머지 기법에 비해서 비교적 낮은 정확성을 보였으며 컨텐츠 기반 기법이 가장 좋은 높은 추천 정확성을 나타내었다. 아울러 협력적 필터링 기법은 참여자들의 수가 증가할수록 좀 더 높은 추천 정확성을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로 디자인 추천 서비스는 컨텐츠 기반 기법이나 협력적 필터링 기법의 적용을 통해 그 추천 정확성을 향상시킬 수 있으며 대상 사용자의 수가 일정 수준 이상으로 증가된다면 협력적 필터링 기법이 가장 우수한 효율을 나타낼 가능성이 높음을 제시하였다.

한국의 고령화가 급속하게 진행됨에 따라 고령자의 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위한 필요성이 증가 하고 있으며, 이에 따라 건축 설계 방식들도 고령자의 주거 환경 향상 및 행태 변화에 대응하기 위한 모듈러 공법으로 전화되어가고 있으며 고령자들을 위한 다양한 IT 시스템들도 제안되어 오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 앞서 언급한 고령자를 위한 주거설계 기법과 IT기술들의 배타적인 발전에서 벗어나 건축 설계 초기부터 IT 기술과의 융합적 건축 설계를 하기 위한 방법론에 대하여 논하며, 구체적으로 고령자 행동 및 주거 IT서비스 계획 요소 분석과 모듈러 주거 공법에서 IT서비스의 융합의 고려사항들에 대하여 연구하였다.

본 논문에서는 해양작업 상태의 하중조건을 고려한 부유식 원유생산 저장 하역장치에 설치된 라이져 보강구조의 강도설계에 관련하여 다양한 근사화 기법 기반 설계최적화 및 그 성능을 비교하고자 한다. 설계최적화 문제는 하중조건별 구조강도의 제한조건 하에서 중량을 최소화하여 설계변수인 구조 부재치수가 결정되도록 정식화된다. 비교 연구를 위해 사용된 근사화 기법은 반응표면법 기반 순차적 근사최적화(RBSAO), 크리깅 기반 순차적 근사최적화(KBSAO), 그리고 개선된 이동최소자승법(MLSM) 기반 근사최적화 기법인 CF-MLSM와 Post-MLSM이다. RBSAO와 KBSAO의 적용을 위하여 상용프로세스 통합 설계최적화(PIDO) 코드를 사용하였다. 본 연구에 적용한 MLSM 기반 근사최적화 기법들은 제한조건의 가용성을 보장할 수 있도록 새롭게 개발되었다. 다양한 근사화 모델 기반 설계최적화 기법에 의한 결과는 설계 해의 개선 및 수렴속도 등의 수치적 성능을 기준으로 실제 비근사 설계최적화 결과와 비교 검토하였다.

Customary way of thinking may be the most major stumbling block to creative thinking in basic design education in the information and network era. The basic design education was used to be based on personal experience or subjective ideas, but these days, the role of divergent thinking and convergent thinking which provide the basis of creative techniques has been closely examined. Going beyond a divergent thinking and directly starting a convergent thinking means bypassing the design process of the existing basic design education. Though preceding studies considered various creative techniques apart from divergent thinking and convergent thinking, this study presumed that complementing the most typical methods of divergent thinking and convergent thinking may result in the same basic design education effect. So, what approach must be used to the design? The way of thinking needs to change. For that, we try to apply the mapping to basic design education. It must encompass interactive thinking which includes immaterial elements and communication. Divergent thinking can begin with the accurate understanding of current state, and the created current state resolves the design process that needs to be a certain thing. The purpose of this study was to present the method for applying the mapping techniques to basic design education based on divergent and convergent thinking which provides the basis of creative ideas.

Open ground story (OGS) reinforced concrete (RC) buildings are vulnerable to the complete collapse or severe damages under seismic actions. This study investigates the effectiveness of four different strengthening techniques representing the local and global modifications to improve the seismic performance of a non-ductile RC OGS frame. Steel caging and concrete jacketing methods of column strengthening are considered as the local modification techniques, whereas steel bracing and RC shear wall systems are selected as the global strengthening techniques in this study. Performance-based plastic design (PBPD) approach relying on energy-balance concept has been adopted to determine the required design force demand on the strengthening elements. Nonlinear static and dynamic analyses are carried out on the numerical models of study frames to assess the effectiveness of selected strengthening techniques in improving the seismic performance of OGS frame.. Strengthening techniques based on steel braces and RC shear wall significantly reduced the peak interstory drift response of the OGS frame. However, the peak floor acceleration of these strengthened frames is amplified by more than 2.5 times as compared to that of unstrengthened frame. Steel caging technique of column strengthening resulted in a reasonable reduction in the peak interstory drift response without substantial amplification in peak floor acceleration of the OSG frame.

This paper examined the kinds and characteristics of leather and also analyzed the expression techniques and characteristics of leather in contemporary fashion. The objective of this study lies in re-interpreting the current location of leather in contemporary fashion design, enlarging unlimited potential expression fields of leather, and at the same time, helping create new viewpoints and expression types of leather. For this purpose, this paper examined the kinds and characteristics of leather through the existing literatures, and it also carried out positive analysis of the expression techniques and characteristics of leather clothes through local and foreign fashion magazines and collection papers, such as Gap, Vogue, and Mode & Mode, focusing on the works presented in the fashion collections after 2000. Leather in contemporary fashion is expressed in different colors through dyeing. Through various expression techniques such as wrinkles, ruffle, stitch, embossing, quilting, patchwork, holing, nailing, cutting, laser cutting, fringe, weaving, printing, and collage, leather breaks the fixed ideas of itself and further, it makes the images of fashion design affluent. Leather clothes, which are made through various expression techniques, have some characteristics. First, leather clothes emphasize women's voluptuous beauty. Second, leather clothes create a decorative effect through mixture of materials and various expression techniques. Third, through the feel of materials and the emphasis of shapes, primitive beauty is expressed.

Two different issues, design of reduced-order robust model predictive control and input signal design for identification of a MIMO system, are addressed and design techniques based on singular value decomposition(SVD) of the pulse response circulant matrix(PRCM) are proposed. For this, we investigate the properties of the PRCM, which is a periodic approximation of a linear discrete-time system, and show its SVD represents the directional as well as the frequency decomposition of the system. Usefulness of the PRCM and effectiveness of the proposed design techniques are demonstrated through numerical examples.

This study concerns visual humor in fake technique fashion. While previous studies focused mainly on expression techniques of fake technique fashion, this study analyzed visual humor in fake technique fashion based on classification criteria of visual humor expression techniques, differenting this study from other studies. The purpose of this study was to derive visual humor in fake technique fashion by classifying cases of fake technique fashion, and re-classifying outcomes of primary classification based on criteria of visual humor expression techniques. As for methods, this theoretical study was conducted on humor, expression techniques of visual humor, fake fashion and fake expression techniques through literature review. Subsequently, 485 fake technique fashion images obtained from research were classified by expression techniques, and cases of fake technique fashion were analyzed. In addition, by combining this theoretical study with case studies, fake technique fashion was re-classified according to criteria of visual humor expression techniques to derive the characteristics of visual humor in fake technique fashion. Based on visual humor expression techniques, visual humor in fake technique fashion was created by distortion and transformation that made the fake look real by distorting or transforming the fake, enlargement and reduction that created new forms by altering familiar forms, and typeplay that added fun by changing familiar luxury logos into various forms.

The purpose of this study is to promote the artistic value and formative aesthetic of clothes in daily life through a proposal of inventive fashion design by utilizing Depaysement of Surrealism, which visualizes a more realistically and more specifically than fact in illogical and unfamiliar situation, Focused on details of Korean traditional costume silhouette. The method of this study, the literature and existing researches related to Depaysement were analyzed through theoretical review for establish the expressive techniques of Depaysement expressed in contemporary fashion. Conclusions from this study are as follows: first, the expressive techniques of Depaysement are derived that are 'change of scale', 'change of materials', 'combination of heterogeneous objects', 'arrangement of object in a strange space', 'overlapped object', 'paradoxical image', 'variable awareness of boundary.' Second, expressive techniques of Depaysement present a new methodology which can express an irrational thinking, which is not controled by reason such as unconsciousness, dream, and fantasy etc, in a way that is easier and more realistic rather than thinking centered on an art which is ruled by consciousness. Third, unique and free-form fashion design, which destroys a general idea, was could develop by using abundant materials and composing items borrowed various silhouette for expressive the techniques of Depaysement. Forth, Through this study, the concept of Korean fashion design, that was limited by the standard form when we approach Korean fashion design as identity of social culture, ideology of reflection and expression, object of commercial expression, was could think outside of the box.
