The purpose of this study was to analyze the signification system between logo and brand concept systematically in sportswear brands. For this purpose, 37 apparel brands focused on sportswear brand were selected and the results of the study were following : First, the sportswear brands that symbolize a specific sports used a related supplies such as a golf ball or tennis ball, etc to express sports or concept that pursuit each brand. Second, the sportswear brands used the brand logo that represent or symbolize a specific animal, plant and natural world to express a strong spirit of sports and active energy. Third, the sportswear brands used the word mark or symbol that design a brand name in dynamic or speedy typeface to represent a speed and progressive spirit of sports. Fourth, the sportswear brands used the symbols that represent a concrete object, person such as a mast, shield, etc to emphasize the brand concept. Fifth, the sportswear brands used the symbols of a graphic or geometric style to represent the special quality of brand in type.

Purpose: This study was to identify the relationship between mental adjustment to cancer and anxiety. Method: This study used a cross-sectional descriptive design. A total of 124 ambulatory cancer patients completed the Mental Adjustment to Cancer (MAC) scale and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation. Results: There was a significantly negative correlation between anxiety and fighting spirit which was adaptive adjustment to cancer (r=-0.29, p<0.001). However, anxiety had significantly positive correlation with helplessness/hopelessness (r=0.38, p<0.001), anxious preoccupation (r=0.55, p< 0.001), and fatalism (r=0.22, p<0.05) to cancer. Conclusion: Cancer patients' mental adjustment is correlated with the degree of the psychosocial distress. Anxious preoccupation and helplessness/hopelessness are the most maladaptive adjustments whereas fighting spirit is one of the most adaptive adjustment to cancer.

Globally, several ethnic groups have expressed their spirit cultures based on their ethnic identity in diverse ways. Clothing has been one of the convenient objects to express ethnic identities. Therefore, patterns and colors used in traditional costumes have worked as a means to help understanding spirit cultures of ethnic groups. Since colors help strengthening solidarity of social members based on ethnic preference and community consensus, colors have performed a crucial role as a strategic tool in the fashion business closely related to consumers' individual characteristics. In survey results, color preferences of Korean and Italian specialists showed significant differences in signboard colors and disliked colors. Many Korean fashion specialists selected pink as a preferred color, black as a clothing color, red and white as a color with high visibility, and orange as a disliked color. In case of Italy, many specialists selected red and black as highly visible colors for a signboard, and green as a disliked color. In results comparing color preference for colors between Korean and Italian fashion design specialists, there were differences in color sensibility. Since this research used data from survey conducted using a very limited and much manipulated stimuli among a wide range of color schema and patterns, the study result may not be fully generalized. In future studies, more research using diversely segmented stimuli would be needed.

This study is to focus on an innate creative 'spirituality' of Weimar Bauhaus' pedagogical thoughts and their backgrounds. In particular, this notes three elements of Universal mysticism, Orientalism in early Bauhaus including Expressionism, and Froebelian Education as the more practical among the romantic legacies as a source of modernism. Arguably, through these researches, just as the expressionists represent the crystallization of glass as the spirit, the important that should be noticed is explained as the fact that a panentheistic Idea of matter and spirit as a whole had been spreading to be recognized consciously or unconsciously; in other words, this awakening as dualistic monism might be one of the greatest peculiarities of modernity, and, as the fact that the universal thought and principle of 'panentheism' emphasizing a 'divine' artistic volition which is immanent in the individual is implanted first of all fundamentally by Froebelian educational influences.

Mies van der Rohe is still known as the architect whose influence is the largest among modem architects. As his work is typical of modern architecture, the architecture of Mies shows an interest in materials and techniques, even though It established the new architectural world by glass and iron, and only transparency is emphasized with glass. So it is blame for the loss of peculiarity a result of thinking In the way of sachlich with expression and structure of material and hierarchical relation. Vincent Scully has insist on that an appearance of modem architecture be occur not by simply a technical request of a technician but by reflection of the times and times' spirit. In this means, the works of Mies is the trial to express the new times' spirit that the new times order and an understanding of material properties about glass with new material of modern. For that, this study tries to consider that Mies'work is the new trial through reflection of material to express about the bstraction beyond the limit of sachlich expression, on the point of expresslonal characteristics of material shown in plan of the Barcelona Pavilion and skyscraper and on the basis of the theory of Gottfried Semper and Karl Boetticher that architectural surface Is a medium which can define space and also express mass.

This study is to comprehend indie fashion which pursues the realization of self-identity, values, freedom and a creation that deviates from conventional cultural flow. This study also aims to understand the definition and characteristics of indie fashion in Korean culture. A rigorous study on indie fashion has not yet been done; therefore, this study was conducted through both a literature study and empirical study. The empirical study asked individuals who engage in indie fashion to provide opinions on the definition and characteristics of indie fashion. The results are as follow. First, indie fashion does not impose conformity upon an individual nor does it pursue differentiation. Second, indie fashion based on self-identity is characterized by an individual's consistent and unchanging style. Third, images (or styles of indie fashion) cannot be uniformly defined as styles different from one individual to another. Fourth, indie fashion can be defined as when an individual perceives themselves as pursuing indie spirit and its attitude. Next was an empirical study that showed in what position indie fashion is and who the fashion leader is in indie fashion. People who enjoy indie fashion said that (regarding indie fashion) it exists independent from the flow of trends as it regards personal values and identity as important.

디자인이란 다양한 문화적 기반의 필요성에 반응해야 한다는 측면에서, 한국 전통 문화에 대한 디자인적 접목은 매우 중요한 일이 아닐 수 없다. 이 같은 배경에서 본 연구는 한국 문화원형에 대한 현실적 재조명 작업의 일환으로 '무신도와 무신 원형'에 대한 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 개발 방안을 모색하였다. 문헌연구, 인터넷 탐색, 사례연구로 진행된 본 연구의 주요 내용은 다음과 같이 세 가지로 정리된다. 첫째, '무당, 인간, 자연, 내세'라는 기준을 통해 무신들간의 위계 구조를 확립하고 이를 기반으로 시나리오, 캐릭터 소스, 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 개발에 필요한 '기획 프로세스'를 제안하였다. 둘째, 위프로세스의 실행 방안의 하나로서 기복 캐릭터 팬시 상품, 모바일 및 게임 캐릭터, 게임 및 애니메이션 시나리오, 디지털 온라인 굿, E-card, E-부적 등의 '사업별, 장르별 적용 방안'을 제안하였다. 셋째, 향후 산업화와 관련하여, 온라인 및 모바일 게임 시나리오, 인터넷 무협 소설과 같은 시나리오 기반 창작 사업으로 확대 적용될 수 있는 '산업화 실행 방안'을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 가장 큰 성과는 우리 문화원형의 창작소재 대상과 범위를 확충시키기 위한 멀티미디어 디자인적 접근이 모색되었다는 점이다. 본 연구 결과를 통해서 향후에는 '무속' 테마에 대한 다양한 디자인 접근이 시도되어지고, 더 나아가 국가 전략적 차원에서 우리 문화원형 개발에 대한 새로운 인식이 재고될 수 있기를 기대한다.

몸을 건강하게 하고 정신을 자유롭게 하는 집이란 디자인 기능의 효율성과 물리적 합리성의 측면을 넘어 인간의 육체와 정신에 관계되는 커뮤니케이션과 몸의 근본이라고 하는 기(氣)의 순환을 고려한 집으로서 사람을 활(活)하게 할 수 있는 집을 말한다. 한옥에서의 집이란 인간의 행위와 감정 및 이성의 모든 정신을 담는 형태가 없는 가변적 형태이며, 다양한 삶의 행위들을 이끌어 스스로의 삶을 생성하고 창출해 나가는 통합된 전체였다. 이러한 의미에서 동양인에게 좋은 집이란 몸을 편리하게 하기보다는 건강하게 하는 기능을 가져야 했고 그러기 위해서 끊임없이 변화하고 운동하며 기를 생성하여 통하게 하는 생명과 같은 역할을 해야 했다. 본 논문은 인간에 대해 거주공간이 건강한 육체와 자유로운 정신의 공간으로 실천되기 위하여 기(氣)의 순환을 중심적으로 고려한 주택 설계안을 연구한 것이다. 이에 기(氣)를 정신과 육체의 두 가지 측면으로 보고 이들의 순환을 이루는 집이 인간의 삶 속에서 생명을 가진 것처럼 기운생동(氣運生動)하게 하는 방법을 고려하여 설계된 중암의 설계 과정을 사례로 제시한다.

Modern society is indefinable and constantly changes like nature changes. It uses design to create new experiments and trend within social environment and culture. In the history of interior architecture and postmodernism, the Italian design movement of Archizoom, Studio Alchimia and Memphis are very important, and Andrea Branzi was the central figure of this design movement. His experimental and defiant works throughout this design movement produced design with combination, indefiniteness, sustentation, and reiteration. Designers must recreate themselves continually and need to have constant experimental spirit and attempts. From this point of view, the study on Andrea Branzi who led Italian design revolution with various experiments and attempts is valuable, and it will help to find the direction of design in this modern social and cultural environment.

The purpose of this study is to pointed artistic representation design on fashion through observation, integrating of the formative arts. Above all, designing principle should be considered with trend, styling ,coloring. It is supported for fashion information which is relating to design through industry society.
