셀 생산 시스템의 통합 구조 (An Intergrated Framework for a Cellular Manufacturing System)

  • The objective of this paper is to provide an alternative framework for the integration of process planning and scheduling in cellular manufacturing. The concept of an integrated cellular manufacturing system is defined and the system architecture is presented. In an integrated cellular manufacturing system, there are three modules : the process planning module, the manufacturing-cell design module, and the cell-scheduling module. For each module, the tasks and their activities are explained.

Comparison of Injection Molding Characteristics according to Thickness Variations of Preform for PET bottle

  • Due to the problem of environmental pollution by plastics, it is necessary to decrease their consumption. In the case of PET bottles, it is essential to reduce the thickness of the bottle for the reduction of plastic used. For manufacturing PET bottles with reduced thickness, it is a prerequisite to design a preform with reduced thickness and study its molding capability. In this study, the injection molding capability was investigated after reducing the body thickness of the preform to 15% and 20%, respectively, for the two preform models currently in use. Injection molding analysis was performed on the existing models and on the models for reduced weight, under the molding conditions of the existing models. Using the computed results, temperature distribution, pressure distribution, deformation and clamping force were compared. Based on the analysis, the injection conditions of the preform model with less thickness were discussed.

니트제품 생산업체의 제품기획 및 니트조직 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on He Design Process and Knit Structure in Knit Production)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the actual conditions of the manufacturer's design processes. Questionnaires were sent out, and 57 interviews were used as research methods including designers, programmers, and merchandisers working for a knit manufacturer in Seoul, followed by a frequency analysis using SPSS 12.0. The results are as follows: knitted fabric goods were the top choices in casual wear. Brand image depended on 'elegance', 'modernity', and 'romanticism', among other lifestyle pursuits. The distribution ratio of the 'basic' and the 'trendy' knit was at 3:7 or 7:3, while the ratio of 6:4 or 4:6 was more common. Knit structure was proven to be the most important factor in the changes in designs. Style and yam ranked second and third, respectively. In addition, details (embroidery and beading), color, pattern, and processing were among the other factors, in order of importance. Based on the difficulty in designing and manufacturing knitted fabric goods, 'manufacturing cost:' 'lack of a manufacturing facility for small production,' and 'limited delivery time' were among the reasons cited in the questionnaire. These results appeared to have been caused by small-scale manufacturers or small-scale manufacturing facilities that made small volume production difficult. The results of the interviews on knitted fabrics that were most frequently used and with the highest sales volumes showed that plain, lace, links & links, miss, and 1:1 rib were ranked accordingly for S/S use, while jacquard, cable, 1:1 rib, links & links, milano, plain, and half cardigan were ranked accordingly for F/W use.

  • Parametric modeling and configuration design method are a important methods for rapid design in manufacturing. This paper proposes a relation rules which parametrically models a bonnet trimming tool based on Pro/Engineer. The concept of desogn is applied a trimming die of the bonnet outer panel. Trimming die have a many parameters. Each a parameter is related the die face and punch profile. A design system consists of a Pro/Engineer, a Pro/program.

  • Offshore Bridge Crane and Hoist which are used FPSO Ships that can move through self - power and have oil production, store and loading and unloading facilities are increasing demand. These equipments must use Crane safely by pitch and rolling of the high wave. For this, they have to be equipped with high durability and safety. So the advanced shipbuilding industries use a private design system which can be prompt in design and analyze in the first stage. For this study, It was developed a basic design system for "Bridge Crane and Hoist" used on FPSO ships. By developing this automated system for "Bridge Crane and Hoist" design, we will be able to make the design data easy to understand. This basic design system will help reduce the amount of working time it takes to design new systems, construct design databases and get approval for the finished design.

  • This paper introduces the development of a three-dimensional jig design system for automotive body welding assembly. Recently, three-dimensional CAD systems have been introduced in the jig design area, because they reduce errors in design process and the design result can be used readily for virtual manufacturing simulation. However, to facilitate three-dimensional jig design, it is essential to customize three-dimensional CAD system for this specific design area. To accomplish this object, we first standardized the parts and units in a jig assembly, and then built the standard part library. We also developed the dedicated 3D design capabilities of jig units and a jig base. By using this system, design can be performed more intuitively, and verification and simulation of design results can be done more easily. The proposed system has been implemented using the UG/Open API of the Unigraphics system.

  • 고비용 생산구조, 중국 제조업의 가파른 성장과 해외 생산 증가로 생산기반 약화를 겪는 국내 제조업의 현 시점에서 성장성 복원을 위해 사용자 특성정보를 발굴하여 DB 시스템을 통해 사용자의 인지 감성 정보기반의 제품 설계를 지원할 수 있는 통합 시스템의 구축이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 제조업 분야 중 주력사업인 정보기기 업체를 대상으로 인지 및 감성 정보를 활용한 사용자 중심 제품설계 지원 시스템 구축에 앞서 제조업 실수요자들의 요구사항을 분석하여 실제 적용이 가능한 시스템의 설계 방향을 정의하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 관련 6개의 제조업체와 in-depth interview를 통해 현 제품 제조 프로세스, 제품 제작 시 활용 데이터, 인지 감성 정보 데이터의 유무와 사용방식, 인지 및 감성 정보를 활용한 사용자 중심 제품설계 지원시스템의 필요도 조사를 수행하였다. 이를 통해 사용자 특성정보, 특히 중소 제조업체가 개별적으로 조사 할 수 없는 인지 감성 사용자 데이터에 초점을 둔 디자인 지원 시스템에 대한 필요도를 확인하였다.

  • The dynamic simulation of machine tools and motion control systems has been widely used for optimization, design verification, control design, etc. There are three main streams in dynamic simulation: structural dynamic analysis based onthe finite element method, dynamic motion analysis based on equations of motion, and control system analysis based on transfer functions. Generally, one of these dynamic simulation methods is chosen and employed for specific purposes. In this study, an integrated dynamic simulation is introduced, in which the structure, motion, and control dynamics are combined together. Commercially well-known software is used in the integrated dynamic simulation: ANSYS, ADAMS, and Matlab/Simulink. Using the integrated dynamic simulation, the dynamics of a magnetic bearing stage is analyzed and the causes of oscillation and noise are identified. A controller design for suppressing a flexible dynamic mode is carried out and verified through the integrated dynamic simulation.

수문의 자동설계 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Automatic Drawing System for Water-gate)

  • The biggest challenge facing today manufacturing industry is better quality and high productivity. From an economic point of view, productivity is the most important parameter, as high productivity will reduce the cost. However, the customers of today are not only cost concerned, but also quality conscious. So high accuracy levels should also be achieved in the manufacturing process. This paper reports the development of a automatic design system based on AutoCAD program. This work is composed of three section that are design of top down menu, guide frame and gate lifter for water-gate programed by AutoLISP language and runned Windows system. The developed system ultimately generates the design for a water gate through AutoCAD program. In the design of the water gate, it needs about 23 hours with an expert, but this system can be only 80 seconds without an expert.

  • Virtual manufacturing is a technology facilitating effective development and agile manufacturing of products via sophisticated computer models representing physical and logical schema and behavior of real manufacturing systems including manufacturing resources, environments, and products. Based on these models, virtual manufacturing supports decision making and error checking in the entire manufacturing processes from design to mass production. At first, we analyzed manufacturing preparation activities of the four major production shops such as press, body assembly, painting and final assembly, of a Korean automotive company. We then developed the workflow models out of the analysis by the IDEF methodology, and generated a strategic plan for the systematic application of the virtual manufacturing technologies. We identified many manufacturing preparation activities that can be improved by the application of virtual manufacturing technologies. Finally, we estimated the effect of improvement including time savings in car development processes and corresponding cost savings.
