Today, interior design industry is continuously developing in domestic and foreign, and the industry is getting more internationalized and professionalized day after day. At the same time, the interior design industry is overwhelmed by sudden changes. However, the sudden change can be regarded as a turning point requiring management paradigm shift and an understanding of fundamental concept of interior design industry management. In other word, it is the point where a design management strategy should begin. The previous management strategies are no longer effective. Only the companies providing impressive and practical designs followed from qualified market research and analysis can survive in the society. This research examined the tasks the interior design industry confronted and the factors of environmental changes, and analyzed the current status and trend of changing environments. The purpose of the research is to propose a direction to the effective management available in highly industrial national society.

Korea adopted a university education ,which it would have been many changes and innovations until modem developed university has its distinct feature. Design education is started just before release of korea and it has inclueded various majors in many changes until now. On the basis of 'Design', multi-media design has been happened and it shows the em of computer. With this change, the School Curriculum was tried many revisions and major subjects has had many changes reflecting the trend of the times. The Visual Communication Design Education is no exception to this. Especially the Visual Communication Design Education has a special quality that accept ail kinds of medium which can deliver on visual angle. Also it takes the problem that how to receive and teach new medium-Computer. The University education that original subject and new computer subject are mixed appropriately must be established promptly. We reside at the very point where past and present merge toward the future of computer graphic design.

In this paper, an estimator design of underwater environment changes is proposed by using observer techniques for ROV control system. The underwater environment changes are considered as an external disturbance term for ROV model and it is added into the input term of ROV model. To estimate the environment changes, a PI observer which does not effect the external disturbance input term is proposed. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, the step and the sinusoidal environment changes are considered in simulation. The proposed method will be applied to design the haptic controller for ROV in future.

As the design of the day focuses more on human-centered design, this shift creates value for society and also fulfills on a sense of social responsibility. In the area of fashion, the design activity is used as a type of fashion design to realize the social value of design in a changed society; this concept was defined as Fashion Design Activism. The objective of this study is to empirically research design activity as a practical value of the day when the social contributions of fashion design are rising in the overall society through the research on the practice of Fashion Design Activity which is adapting to changes in the fashion design paradigm. Regarding the study method, the literature research and case study were combined. We examined the meaning of social design by reviewing the literature related to this social paradigm, and we analyzed cases in which the effects of fashion design on society were realized through practical activities. Also, we defined the role of fashion design based on an analysis of design types based on previous research. This study divided the roles of fashion design in a pattern based on the social roles that design inhabited, in terms of how 'fashion design fulfilled on social responsibility', 'anthropocentric fashion design putting emphasis on users', and 'fashion design aiming for eco-efficient changes'. This study aimed to seek measures to develop fashion design that could promote changes focusing on society, humans, and the environment.

This article aimed at understanding the characteristics of Swedish furniture design since 1980s in the reference to the major paradigm changes in the contemporary design field. For this, the authors examined the theoretical background of modern and post-modern design paradigms to identify today's design tendencies. And we used this frame in the analysis of the latest examples of Swedish furniture design. The main characteristics of Swedish furniture design since 1980s included 'furniture as art object', 'the succession of the Swedish Modern (neo-modernism)', and 'conscious design for sustainable development'. These could be viewed as the consequences of the choices that the Swedish furniture industry and designers made during the last decade, that was to take plurality and contradiction as the accompanying values of the traditional Swedish modern design.

Engineering changes are indispensable engineering and management activities for manufactures to develop competitive products and to maintain consistency of its product data. Analysis of engineering changes provides a core functionality to support decision makings for engineering change management. This study aims to develop a method for analysis of engineering changes based on On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP), a proven database analysis technology that has been applied to various business areas. This approach automates data processing for engineering change analysis from product databases that follow an international standard for product data management (PDM), and enables analysts to analyze various aspects of engineering changes with its OLAP operations. The study consists of modeling a standard PDM database and a multidimensional data model for engineering change analysis, implementing the standard and multidimensional models with PDM and data cube systems and applying the implemented data cube to core functions of engineering change management, the evaluation and propagation of engineering changes.

In the development of large complex assembly, most design changes are from the following reasons.: 1) insufficient consideration of assembling sequence of downstream process. 2) interference and fit-up of related parts. 3) initial design changes which are not completely resolved. In order to reduce the first reason of above, the assembly-centric modeling methodology was proposed in the part (1) of the thesis. In this part (2), a Digital Mock-Up system, which is a tool to build a virtual mock-up in design stage, has been developed in order to prevent the other two reasons. The system can build a virtual assembly in various ways as followings.: 1) assembling parts which are located in user defined envelope. 2) assembling parts with the specified disciplines. 3) assembling parts that are selected in the part list. It can also make an assembly by the combination of above methods. In addition to that, it has the functions to read/write the virtual assembly and to explode parts of the assembly in desired direction. With the virtual assembly, engineers can design interference free parts without making physical mock-up. The system has been implemented with Oracle database management system in CATIA environment.

As people abroad have been much interested in the usage of modern architecture from the early days, many researches about various methods of using them have been progressed. In Korea, with the need to protect the modern architecture through active usage of them in the dimension of protecting the disappearing history, at present, many modern architectures were renovated and used. This research is to find out the sense of direction about the changes of design of the renovated modern architectures in Korea by analyzing the design changes after the renovations in Korea and abroad. Under the limitation of the modern architecture renovation case in Korea, Japan and China, the changes of design after the modern architecture renovation in Korea and aborad were analyzed by the analysis of the ways of remodelling for each case according to the case analyzing frame. Based on the reasons of renovations which had purpose of preserving social history with many other various reasons in common in both cases of Korean modern architecture remodelling and abroad, the common direction of design is to meet new with old to preserve the special image though they did it in different ways. However, different from the case of Japan and China which are coexisting present and past in space, Korean case focused too much on outside, which resulted in only outside designs. In the case of Korea, the past should have mutual understanding to have the firm space image by forming unique interior space culture through the architectural grafting the present in the past not only in the outside space but also in the indoor space. In another words, for the various changes of design in Korean modern architecture renovations, a systematic research should be done about the interior spaces of present architecture and modern architecture.

The emphasis of this paper is to find out the changes in length of nose in line with speed improvement and changes of the tendency in the shape of the nose in line with time series based on the Shinkansen vehicle. The length of the nose on the lines of high speed tends to get longer, however there is no proportion between the speed and the nose according to optimal design that was designed to reduce micro-pressure wave and air resistance. The Shinkansen vehicles, according to the shape, can be classified in to an Advanced Paraboloid shape, a Sharp-nosed shape, a Flat-nosed shape and an Organic Double-edged shape and is gradually changing in the trend of diversity and distinction. Hereafter, the design of the nose will be developed better into the design that will comprehend identity of manufacturer, region and culture on the basis of optimized aerodynamic shape.
