혼합 윤활을 고려한 캠 축 진동 특성 해석 (Analysis of Camshaft Vibration Characteristics with Mixed Lubrication)

  • This paper focused on the dynamic behavior of camshaft in a direct acting type valve train system. To investigate camshaft behavior, transient vibration analysis is performed by using the transfer matrix method. The camshaft is treated as a lumped mass system supported by spring and damper, From the presented analytical model, we could predict dynamic behavior of camshaft, shaft locus within bearing and bearing load. The presented model and results will be very helpful to design the optimal camshaft and valve train system.

대체냉매(HFC134a, HC600a)용 밀폐형 왕복동 압축기의 성능해석에 관한 연구 (Performance analysis of a hermetic reciprocating compressor using the alternative refrigerants, HFC134a and HC600a)

  • Thermodynamic and dynamic analysis has been conducted to investigate performance variations induced by substitution of alternative refrigerants, HFC134a or HC600a for CFC12 in hermetic reciprocating compressors. For the thermodynamic analysis, mass and energy conservation laws are applied to the cylinder volume and Helmholtz resonator modeling method is adopted to describe gas pulsations at suction and discharge system. The modeling of the dynamics of the compressor mechanism has been performed with lumped mass method to analyse the bearing loads and friction losses at each bearing. To verify the correctness of this analysis, results of the performance simulation have been compared to those of calorimetric measurrements of compressor operating with CFC12. Analysis of the various losses, noise and reliability as well as performance has been conducted to present the design guideline for the compressor development with alternative refrigerants. It is found that compressors with alternative refrigerants, HFC 134a or HC600a give better COPs than those with CFC12 under the same operating conditions and especially, compressors with HC600a show better reliability and noise characteristics also.

해상 부유식 1MW 해수온도차발전 시스템의 라이저 설계 (Design of Riser in 1MW OTEC system mounted on Floating Barge)

  • 1 MW 해수온도차발전 시스템의 라이저에 관한 설계를 수행한다. 라이저의 직경은 1 MW 발전을 위한 심층수 취수량에 기초하여 결정되고, 관종은 제작 가능한 상업용 파이프를 대상으로 종류별 특성을 분석한 후 선정한다. 강관, GFRP관, 그리고 HDPE관 중 HDPE관을 선정하며, 선정된 관종의 중량과 강도를 보강하기 위하여 설계를 수행한다. HDPE 라이저 하부 끝단에 중량체를 설치하여 중량을 보강하며, HDPE 라이저 축방향으로 와이어로프를 설치하여 강도를 보강한다. 중량체의 중량은 GFRP관 무게 대비 25%와 50%가 되도록 설계되며, 라이저 끝단에 연결되는 중량체의 모든 하중은 와이어로프가 지지하도록 설계된다. 설계된 HDPE라이저는 연중 온도차발전이 가능한 하와이 인근 해역에 설치되는 것으로 가정하여, 수치해석적 방법에 의한 안전성 평가를 수행한다. 안전성이 검증된 HDPE 라이저에 대하여 경제적으로 가장 유리한 HDPE 라이저의 최종 제원을 결정한다. 설계된 라이저는 향후 1MW 해수온도차발전 시스템 실증을 위한 설계 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

콘크리트궤도 슬래브의 다웰 연결부 파괴 거동 (Fracture Behavior of Dowel Joint of Concrete Slab Track)

  • 최근 콘크리트궤도 공법이 증가함에 따라 인접한 슬래브를 연결하는 방법에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 슬래브의 연결부는 효과적인 하중전달, 변형 연속화, 응력 분산을 위해서 다웰 시스템이 다수 적용된다. 본 연구에서는 콘크리트 슬래브 다웰연결부를 효율적으로 이상화할 수 있는 연결부의 집중 전단스프링 (Lumped shear spring) 모델을 제안한다. 전단 스프링 모델의 강성은 다웰바의 강성과 유격을 고려하였으며, 강도는 연결부의 전단파괴에 근거한 Concrete Capacity Design(CCD) 방법에 의해 산정되었다. 해석모델의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 다웰로 연결된 슬래브 실험체를 제작하고 재하실험을 수행하였다. 제안된 해석모델은 다웰과 콘크리트 간의 유격으로 인한 초기 비선형성 및 콘크리트 재료 비선형성을 합리적으로 반영하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 향후 슬래브 다웰 조인트로 연결된 콘크리트궤도의 파괴 시까지의 비선형 거동을 합리적으로 예측함으로써 철도 궤도의 설계 시 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

마운트 시스템을 갖는 유연 로터-베어링 시스템의 기초전달 충격 과도응답 해석을 위한 유한요소 모델링 (FE Modeling for the Transient Response Analysis of a Flexible Rotor-bearing System with Mount System to Base Shock Excitation)

  • Turbomachinery such as turbines, pumps and compressors, which are installed in transportation systems, including aircrafts, ships, and space vehicles, etc., often perform crucial missions and are exposed to potential dangerous impact environments such as base-transferred shock forces. To protect turbomachinery from excessive shock forces, it may be needed to accurately analyze transient responses of their rotors, considering the dynamics of mount designs to be applied. In this study a generalized FE transient response analysis model, introducing relative displacements, is proposed to accurately predict transient responses of a flexible rotor-bearing system with mount systems to base-transferred shock forces. In the transient analyses the state-space Newmark method of a direct time integration scheme is utilized, which is based on the average velocity concept. Results show that for the identical mount systems considered, the proposed FE-based detailed flexible rotor model yields more reduced transient vibration responses to the same shocks than a conventional simple model, obtained by treating a rotor as concentrated lumped mass, equivalent spring and a damper or Jeffcott rotor model. Hence, in order to design a rotor-bearing system with a more compact light-weighted mount system, preparing against any potential excessive shock, the proposed FE transient response analysis model herein is recommended.

Implementation of Zero-Ripple Line Current Induction Cooker using Class-D Current-Source Resonant Inverter with Parallel-Load Network Parameters under Large-Signal Excitation

  • The systematic and effective design method of a Class-D current-source resonant inverter for use in an induction cooker with zero-ripple line current is presented. The design procedure is based on the principle of the Class-D current-source resonant inverter with a simplified load network model that is a parallel equivalent circuit. An induction load characterization is obtained from a large-signal excitation test-bench based on parallel load network, which is the key to an accurate design for the induction cooker system. Accordingly, the proposed scheme provides a systematic, precise, and feasible solution than the existing design method based on series-parallel load network under low-signal excitation. Moreover, a zero-ripple condition of utility-line input current is naturally preserved without any extra circuit or control. Meanwhile, a differential-mode input electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter can be eliminated, high power quality in utility-line can be obtained, and a standard-recovery diode of bridge-rectifier can be employed. The step-by-step design procedure explained with design example. The devices stress and power loss analysis of induction cooker with a parallel load network under large-signal excitation are described. A 2,500-W laboratory prototype was developed for $220-V_{rms}/50-Hz$ utility-line to verify the theoretical analysis. An efficiency of the prototype is 96% at full load.

다목적연구용 원자로의 30/5 톤 천정크레인에 대한 지진해석에 관한 연구 (Seismic Analysis of 30/5 Ton Overhead Crane for 30MWTh Korea Multipurpose Research Reactor (KMRR))

  • The KMRR 4-wheel crane which has a span of 30.6m long shall be designed to maintain its structural integrity during and after seismic shocks. Horizontal and vertical FRS for OBE and SSE conditions at the crane support are after seismic shock. Horizontal and vertical FRS for analysis are 4% for OBE and 7% for SSE. The crane consists of girder, saddle main and auxiliary trolley, and necessaries. They are modeled as beam elements and lumped masses for the following 4 cases ; trolley at center of the crane with and without the rated load, trolley at end with and without the rated load. The static analysis as well as the linear dynamic analysis including frequency and response spectrum analysis are performed for the seismic qualification of the crane using the Finite Element Method. For the simplicity of the analysis, the decoupling criteria are considered for the crane rope and the crane supporting beams. The main sections of the crane are stiffened until the calculated stresses satisfy the allowable limits. The seismic resultant loads are used to design the seismic restraints of the saddle and the trolley to protect the clue from the seismic uplifting loads the study results have show that the seismic design of the KMRR crane is governed by the OBE condition. not by the SSE condition. This paper briefly describes the analysis procedure used in the seismic design of the KMRR crane, and summarizes the analysis results.

공진기형 SAW 필터에 위드로월 가중법이 미치는 효과에 대한 이론적 연구 (Theoretical Study on the Effects of the Withdrawal Weighting on the Performance of Resonator Type SAW Filters)

  • 본 논문에서는 단일 SAW 공진기의 불규칙적인 전극배열에 대한 주파수 특성을 계산할 수 있도록 기존의 Smith 등가회로를 이용한 집중소자 해석법을 한 단계 발전시켜 불규칙적인 전극배열까지 해석할 수 있는 수정된 집중소자 해석법을 처음으로 유도, 제시하였다. 이를 위해 단일전극에 대한 Smith 등가회로의 y-파라미터를 유도하고 이를 전체 IDT로 조합한 경우의 총 전류를 계산함으로써 전극단에서의 어드미턴스 값을 수식으로 유도하였다. 이 수식을 통해 위드로월 (withdrawal) 가중이 부여된 SAW공진기의 집중소자해석이 가능하며 그 예로서 여섯 개의 공진기를 결합한 사다리 필터를 구성하고 이 때 각 공진기의 위드로월 가중에 따른 필터 특성변화를 조사하였다. 그 결과 SAW 공진기에 위드로월 가중법을 적용할 경우 기존의 단순공진기 필터에 비해 더욱 개선된 대역폭과 천이대역의 특성을 구현할 수 있었다. 본 해석법은 공진기형 SAW필터의 설계 및 분석도구로 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

능동 소나 배열의 개념 설계를 위한 반복법 기반 배열 해석 (Iteration-based Array Analysis for Conceptual Design of Active Sonar Arrays)

  • The array equations are commonly used for analysis and conceptual design of active sonar projector arrays. Calculation of the radiation impedance matrix poses a major computational bottleneck for the solution of the array equations, which leads to a dramatic increase in computational load as the number of constituent transducers increases. Here, we propose an iteration-based solution method that does not require the calculation of the radiation impedance matrix, as a computationally efficient alternative to the status quo. The validity of the iteration-based analysis is judged against the full finite-element analysis that includes the entire array as well as the medium. The array equations for the 1/3-sector of a cylindrical array comprised of 48 Tonpilz transducers are augmented by the lumped element models, and are solved iteratively for the acoustic and electro-mechanical characteristics. The iteration-based analysis exhibits rapid convergence and accuracy comparable with the FE analysis. Simulations also reveal that the acoustic coupling between transducers has more pronounced effects on the electro-mechanical characteristics of individual transducers than the acoustic performance of the array.

광 픽업 액추에이터의 부공진 원인 규명과 저감화 (Analysis and Reduction of Subsidiary Resonance of an Optical Pickup Actuator)

  • An asymmetric actuator can be used to reduce the distance between the reflective mirror and objective lens of a small optical disk drive for use in the notebook-sized personal computer data storage devices. However, this asymmetric actuator is very sensitive to the subsidiary resonance which is caused by its rigid body motion. In this paper, an analytical approach using a simple lumped parameter system model is presented with a physical insight to investigate why the subsidiary resonance occurs. The finite element method is used to figure out the force and torque characteristics of the asymmetric actuator which are essential to understand the subsidiary vibration characteristics. The frequency responses are presented to examine how the subsidiary resonance is altered for various situations of having different thickness of a yoke and permanent magnet and of having a different magnet circuit. Finally, the design guidelines to avoid the subsidiary resonance will be presented.
