  • The application contents, process, and its limitations are discussed for the setting of Korean legal guides & criteria for water cycle and ecological condition in development project of land use by thorough comparison and examination of prerequisites and credits of water cycle and soil+vegetation by USA's SITES (Sustainable Sites Initiative). In the case of SITES, due to the implementation procedure operated as a non-governmental independent assessment system by Green Business Certification, Inc, the natural condition of water cycle and soil-vegetation items-the key element of ecosystem services can be quantitatively assessed, well along with its legal and institutional guidelines and regulations. On the other hand, in the case of Korea, as a part of the national certification procedure for green building, the ecological area ratio system still have very limited role as an only amenity resource in the creation of artificial green spaces and insufficiency of management system for rain water. In conclusion, it was understood as an urgent situation in necessary for prompt establishment of site's sustainability certification system at the national level, based on management of water circulation and natural soil & vegetation in developed area with consideration of various land uses and types of development projects.

  • In platoon driving, several autonomous vehicles communicate to exchange information with each other and drive in a single cluster. The platooning technology has various advantages such as increasing road traffic, reducing energy consumption and pollutant emission by driving in short distance between vehicles. However, the short distance makes it more difficult to cope with an emergency accident, and accordingly, it is difficult to ensure the safety of platoon driving, which must be secured. In particular, the unexpected situation, i.e., variability that may appear during driving can adversely affect the safety of platoon driving. Because such variability is difficult to predict and reproduce, preparing safety guards to prevent risks arising from variability is a challenging work. In this paper, we studied a simulation method to avoid the risk due to the variability that may occur while platoon driving. In order to simulate safe platoon driving, we develop diverse scenarios considering the variability, design and apply safety guards to handle the variability, and extends the detail functions of VENTOS, an open source platooning simulator. Based on the simulation results, we have confirmed that the risks caused form the variability can be removed, and safe platoon driving is possible. We believe that our simulation approach will contribute to research and development to ensure safety in platoon driving.

  • The electronic attendance management system is being introduced and operated on a pilot basis by some universities and educational institutions. However, most of the related systems have installed and operated the existing barcode and magnetic card systems. Classroom attendance is managed by introducing RF cards, but it causes problems such as recognition distance (less than 5cm) and the need for a check process in which students have to read the card each time with a reader for attendance. Also, it is not possible to respond in real time to the situation of midterm (early leave, absence from the second lecture time, etc.) because it is used in the lecture time of one subject with the record checked once. In order to solve these problems, the various mobile attendance systems proposed to solve these problems are also unable to fundamentally solve problems such as interim attendance and proxy attendance because they check attendance using only the application of a smartphone. In this paper, we use geofencing technology, which is a positioning-based technology that detects the entry and exit of people, objects, etc. in areas separated by virtual boundaries. The proposed system solves the problem of intermediate attendance and alternate attendance by setting the student to automatically record the access record when entering and leaving the classroom set as a geofence with a smartphone. In addition, it also provides a function to prevent unintentional mistakes that occur through the smartphone by limiting some of the functions of the smartphone such as silence, vibration, and Internet use when entering the classroom.

  • The purpose of this study was explored the effect of Flipped PBL on Communication and Problem Solving skill of University students. For study, students in the college of education at A University and S University located in Gyeonggi-do were set up 60 students. They majored in Christian education and early childhood education, and the level of education was similar in the same region and department. In the experiment, the comparison group and the experimental group were separated, and data were collected through pre-test before class and post-test after class, followed by analysis covariance(ANCOVA). Between the comparative group performing flipped learning and the experimental group performing flipped PBL, the problem solving ability and communication ability using the flipped PBL averaged 4.28 and the communication ability averaged 4.06. As a result, it was higher than each of the comparison groups, confirming that it had a significant effect. This will be able to present a flipped PBL class design as an alternative method to overcome the limitations of the existing flip learning in a changing classroom situation and to improve the communication and problem solving ability of the learner.

  • Architectural evidence of Gaya is insignificant than any other area. In this situation, house-shaped earthenware is particularly helpful in the study of Gaya architecture. However, house-shaped earthenware is not a building, it has just the shape of buildings. So, we have to find out architectural evidence from that. In this paper, I tried to estimate the architectural characteristics of Gaya through house-shaped earthenware in detail. I also consulted historical records, archeological results, and other scholars' papers. The results are as follows. First, house-shaped earthenware can be classified into three types according to its shape, and each type has distinct architectural structural characteristics. Second, house-shaped earthenware generally has a gambrel roof, and the characteristic of architectural design with the gable side of the gambrel roof as a front is the biggest feature of Gaya architecture. Third, various types of buildings existed according to their functions in Gaya architecture, and house-shaped earthenware was showed buildings of ancient storage, pens, and residences, which are symbols of the richness among various types of buildings.

  • Purpose This paper aims to improve management performance by effectively responding to production needs and reducing inventory through synchronizing production planning and procurement in the aviation industry. In this study, the differences in production planning and execution were first analyzed in terms of demand, supply, inventory, and process using the big data collected from a domestic aircraft manufacturers. This paper analyzed the problems in procurement and inventory management using legacy big data from ERP system in the company. Based on the analysis, we performed a simulation to derive an efficient procurement and inventory management plan. Through analysis and simulation of operational data, we were able to discover procurement and inventory policies to effectively respond to production needs. Design/methodology/approach This is an empirical study to analyze the cause of decrease in inventory turnover and increase in inventory cost due to dis-synchronize between production requirements and procurement. The actual operation data, a total of 21,306,611 transaction data which are 18 months data from January 2019 to June 2020, were extracted from the ERP system. All them are such as basic information on materials, material consumption and movement history, inventory/receipt/shipment status, and production orders. To perform data analysis, it went through three steps. At first, we identified the current states and problems of production process to grasp the situation of what happened, and secondly, analyzed the data to identify expected problems through cross-link analysis between transactions, and finally, defined what to do. Many analysis techniques such as correlation analysis, moving average analysis, and linear regression analysis were applied to predict the status of inventory. A simulation was performed to analyze the appropriate inventory level according to the control of fluctuations in the production planing. In the simulation, we tested four alternatives how to coordinate the synchronization between the procurement plan and the production plan. All the alternatives give us more plausible results than actual operation in the past. Findings Based on the big data extracted from the ERP system, the relationship between the level of delivery and the distribution of fluctuations was analyzed in terms of demand, supply, inventory, and process. As a result of analyzing the inventory turnover rate, the root cause of the inventory increase were identified. In addition, based on the data on delivery and receipt performance, it was possible to accurately analyze how much gap occurs between supply and demand, and to figure out how much this affects the inventory level. Moreover, we were able to obtain the more predictable and insightful results through simulation that organizational performance such as inventory cost and lead time can be improved by synchronizing the production planning and purchase procurement with supply and demand information. The results of big data analysis and simulation gave us more insights in production planning, procurement, and inventory management for smart manufacturing and performance improvement.

  • Maker education has recently been actively practiced under strong governmental support as a nation-wide policy for innovative education, which now had to confront the unexpected challenge and crisis of 'contactless educational environments' due to COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, this study aimed to develop a checklist needed for developing 'contactless maker education program' which still continues to maintain 'maker mindsets' as the goal and direction of maker education, since maker education has been regarded as an alternative educational environment suitable for the 4th industrial revolution age. For this purpose, this study first conducted literature review related to maker education and contactless (i.e. online) education environments, from which several characteristics of the contactless maker education have been extracted. And then, 5 maker education instructors currently conducting the contactless maker education programs in various settings provided feedback on the developed checklist draft, which actually became the final version of the checklist. Considering the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, the checklist for the contactless Maker education might be helpful in preventing to diminish or reduce the educational values and active application of maker education.

  • Purpose This study explored overall phenomena in context such as YouTube channel operation, strategy, and profit generation through interviews with two research participants who started their own businesses and are recognized as influencer on YouTube and analysis of viewer responses to uploaded contents. With the explosive growth of YouTube content provision and use, previous studies on YouTube are only being conducted individually on YouTube's content, influence, and content providers, so it is need to explore YouTube channel operations and the effect of revenue generation in context from an integrated perspective. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present an integrated model that provides a specific process by contextually linking the factors and results influencing YouTube channel operation and revenue generation phenomena to individuals and companies who are trying to operate YouTube channels for the first time. Design/methodology/approach This study systematized and structured the overall phenomena in context such as YouTube channel operation, communication strategy, effect on revenue generation, and YouTube channel operation results by selecting interview subjects and collecting data through interviews, and analyzing viewer reactions (likes, comments, etc.). Due to the lack of previous studies exploring integrated phenomena, research analysis used Strauss & Corbin (1998)'s grounded theory approach, which presented inductive research methods to discover new theories by structuring concepts and categories based on detailed observations and information provided by interviewees. Findings The academic implication of this study is that while previous studies are conducted as individual studies on YouTube's content, influence, and content providers in the current situation where YouTube content provision and use are exploding, it integrally explores and presents an integrated model throughout the process. In addition, taking into account the lack of previous studies, it can be found in the aspect of using the grounded theory approach, an inductive theory approach that establishes a new theory. The practical implications can be found in that it presented practical directions to beginners who want to start operating YouTube channels by identifying operational preparations, communication strategies with viewers, and response management strategies.

  • Purpose: We aimed to identify collaborative disaster governance through the demand and supply analysis of resources recognized by nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: We used a descriptive study design with an online survey technique for data collection. The survey questions were developed based on focus group interviews with nurses responding to COVID-19 and expert validity testing. A 42-question online survey focusing on disaster governance was sent to nurses working in COVID-19 designated hospitals, public health offices, and schools. A total of 630 nurses participated in the survey. Demand and supply analysis was used to identify the specific components of disaster governance during a pandemic situation and analyze priority areas in disaster governance, as reported by nurses. Results: Demand and supply analysis showed that supplies procurement, cooperation, education, and environment factors clustered in the high demand and supply quadrant while labor condition, advocacy, emotional support, and workload adjustment factors clustered in the high demand but low supply quadrant, indicating a strong need in those areas of disaster governance among nurses. The nurses practicing at the public health offices and schools showed major components of disaster governance plotted in the second quadrant, indicating weak collaborative disaster governance. Conclusion: These findings show that there is an unbalanced distribution among nurses, resulting in major challenges in collaborative disaster governance during COVID-19. In the future and current pandemic, collaborative disaster governance, through improved distribution, will be useful for helping nurses to access more required resources and achieve effective pandemic response.

  • Recently, as the use of applications such as big data programs and machine learning programs that are driven while generating large amounts of data in the program itself becomes common, the existing main memory alone lacks memory, making it difficult to execute the program quickly. In particular, the need to derive results more quickly has emerged in a situation where it is necessary to analyze whether the entire sequence is genetically altered due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. As a result of measuring performance by applying large-capacity data to a computing system equipped with a self-developed memory pool MOCA host adapter instead of processing large-capacity data from an existing SSD, performance improved by 16% compared to the existing SSD system. In addition, in various other benchmark tests, IO performance was 92.8%, 80.6%, and 32.8% faster than SSD in computing systems equipped with memory pool MOCA host adapters such as SortSampleBam, ApplyBQSR, and GatherBamFiles by task of workflow. When analyzing large amounts of data, such as electrical dielectric pipeline analysis, it is judged that the measurement delay occurring at runtime can be reduced in the computing system equipped with the memory pool MOCA host adapter developed in this research.
