Five-axis finishing tool path generation for a mesh blade based on linear morphing cone

  • Blisk is an essential component in aero engines. To maintain good aero-dynamic performance, one critical machining requirement for blades on blisk is that the generated five-axis tool path should be boundary-conformed. For a blade discretely modeled as a point cloud or mesh, most existing popular tool path generation methods are unable to meet this requirement. To address this issue, a novel five-axis tool path generation method for a discretized blade on blisk is presented in this paper. An idea called Linear Morphing Cone (LMC) is first proposed, which sets the boundary of the blade as the constraint. Based on this LMC, a CC curve generation and expansion method is then proposed with the specified machining accuracy upheld. Using the proposed tool path generation method, experiments on discretized blades are carried out, whose results show that the generated tool paths are both uniform and boundary-conformed.

  • A Spacecraft container must afford the satellite a relatively benign thermal, vibration, and particle environment that is oblivious to the extreme temperatures, sand, dust, vibrations and shocks that can accompany the transportation. This paper discusses the extensive yet simple vibration test and validation of one such spacecraft container used for KOMPSA T-1 spacecraft, which was transported from KARl Taejon, Korea to Vandenberg Air Force Base(VAFB) on September 30 and launched successfully December 21, 1999. The test results are presented and compared with the design requirement. The dynamic characteristics of shipping container, such as natural frequencies, satisfied the design requirement and showed that shipping container was well. designed and manufactured. This kind of know-how will help to develop the next generation of Korean space program, such as KOMPSAT-2 and Korean tele-communication satellite.

방향탐지 정확도 개선을 위한 안테나 전면판 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Antenna Front Plate Design for the Improvement of DF Accuracy)

  • In this paper, we present the AFP(antenna front plate)s which were designed to reduce the reflection for the sake of the improvement of DF(direction finding) accuracy. The AFP consists of front plate, absorber and radome. The AFPs were optimized respectively by real test and we performed the DF test using our AFPs in laboratory. The DF test shows that the DF accuracy is about 2 times better than the requirement capability. Then, the DF field test was executed using the AFPs, which were installed in helicopter in consideration of the reflection by platform. The result of the DF field test is superior to the requirement capability also, which shows the validity of our design method.

  • Urban transit consists of signaling system, railway systems, power facilities systems, information and communication system and the other complicated facilities. There are many new technologies to analysis the requirement of for information and communication system. The more system is complicate, the more system design error occur frequently in development of information and communication system. Now, we need to reduce the error by analysis the behavior of the requirements of it. Thus in this paper, we suggest the way to analysis the behavior of the requirements by using the computer aided design tools.

  • This paper discusses the issues associated with the design of high speed machines for applications with a wide constant-power region requirement. Using described multi-domain design environments which put equal weight on the electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical considerations, the suitability and power density achievable using Induction Machines (IM) and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSM) are compared.

  • We propose the specialized product-line development methodology for developing the embedded system of an MSDFS (Multi Sensor Data Fusion System : called MSDFS). The product-line methodology provides a simultaneous design between software and hardware, high level reusability. However this is insufficient in requirement analysis stage due to be focused on software architecture, detailed design and code. Thus we apply the business model based on IDEF0 technique to traditional methodology. In this paper, we describe the processes of developing Core-Asset, which are requirement analysis, feature modeling, validation. The proposed model gives the efficient result for eliciting features, and ensures the high level reusability of modules performing on embedded system.

  • For design of cryogenic propellant feeding system, one of the main requirements is to meet temperature requirement for satisfying turbo-pump NPSH requirement. In this paper improved method of estimating the thermal stratification in liquid oxygen tank is presented to help design. In the case of liquid rocket using turbo-pump, the inner pressure of liquid oxygen tank is maintained low, so vaporization of liquid oxygen is generally occurred. In this paper, inner process of LOX tank is analyzed by two phase flow modeling. The vaporization rate and required helium mass is investigated.

  • SAR 데이터는 크기와 위상정보를 가지고 있으며, 위상정보를 이용하는 IFSAR 기법은 고 정밀 고도정보를 산출할 수 있는 매우 유용한 첨단기술이다. 본 논문에서는 SAR 운용시 IFSAR 기법을 효율적으로 활용할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 SAR 설계시 고찰해야할 필수적인 요구조건과 주요 고려사항을 제시하였다. 또한 핵심요소 중 하나인 최대 베이스라인에 대한 수식을 유도하였으며, E-SAR에 대한 시뮬레이션과 결과분석을 통하여 활용방안을 제안하였다.

  • This paper concerns the design and implementation of a Bandwidth Variable Digital Chirp Generator (DCG) for the radar altimeter. A double SRAM parallel structure is used to breakthrough the upper DCG bandwidth limited by the highest clock frequency of the digital chips. An experimental system working in the waveform storage method has been implemented. We show that the bandwidth changed according to the radar altimeter's requirement and the design released the stringent speed requirement of the chips fur making a variable wide bandwidth DCG.
