강건성 지수를 이용한 강건설계 기법의 개발 (Development of a Robust Design Process Using a Robustness Index)

  • Design goal is to find the one that has the highest probability of success and the smallest variation. A robustness index has been proposed to satisfy these conditions. The two-step optimization process of the target problem requires a scaling factor. The search process of a scaling factor is replaced with the making of the decoupled design between the mean and the standard deviation. The decoupled design matrix is formed from the sensitivity or the sum of squares. After establishing the design matrix, the robust design process has a new three-step one. The first is ″reduce variability,″ the second is ″make the candidate designs that satisfy constraints and move the mean on the target,″ and the final is ″select the best robust design using the proposed robustness index.″ The robust design process is verified by three examples and the results using the robustness index are compared with those of other indices.

신뢰도를 활용한 도로시설 교통안전성 평가기법 (Evaluation of Highway Traffic Safety using Reliability Theory)

  • PURPOSES : This paper proposes a reliability index for the safety evaluation of freeway sections. It establishes a reliability index as a safety surrogate on freeways considering speeds and speed dispersions. METHODS : We collated values of design elements including radii, curve lengths, vertical slopes (absolute values), superelevations, and vertical slopes from seven freeway sections in Korea. We also collected data about driving speeds, traffic accidents, and their deviations. We established a reliability index using these variables. RESULTS : The average radii, curve lengths, and superelevations are highly correlated with the incidence of traffic accidents. Deviations in radius and curve lengths show an especially high correlation. The reliability index, derived from speed and speed dispersions of the seven freeway sections, also correlated highly with accidents with a correlation index of 0.63. CONCLUSIONS : Since the reliability index obtained from speed and speed dispersions are highly correlated with traffic accidents, we conclude that a reliability index can be a safety surrogate on freeways considering speeds and speed dispersions together in terms of design and operational levels.

산출물 추출 및 분류를 위한 Index/XML순서관계 시스템 설계 (A Design of Index/XML Sequence Relation Information System for Product Abstraction and Classification)

  • 소프트웨어 개발은 다양한 산출물(클래스 부품, 클래스 다이어그램, 폼, 객체, 디자인 패턴)을 생성한다. 단 논문은 이런 산출물의 효율적인 추출 및 분류를 위한 Index/XML 순서관계 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템에서 산출물 순서 관계 추출은 패턴 관계정보를 메타 모델링 할 수 있으며 데이터베이스 할 수 있어 재사용 및 저장이 용이하다. 이 Index/XML 순서관계 시스템은 산출물의 추출과 분류를 위한 여러 가지 산출물의 관계 정보를 쉽게 변형할 수 있다. 이 시스템은 디자인 패턴을 효율적으로 분류 추출할 수 있도록 설계한다. 기능적인 인덱싱, 표준 패턴을 위한 순서 기준 인덱싱은 인덱스 아이디로 그룹화 할 수 있으며 분류할 수 있어 효과적이다. 이 정보론 이용하여 산출물들을 효과적으로 분류 및 추출을 할 수 있다.

  • This paper describes an Axiomatic Design Process enhanced by the Combinative Index that represents combinative strength between function requirements and design parameters. This method combines the advantages of these two methods : 1) Combinative Index that represents combinative strength between function requirements and design parameters so that we clearly understand these information. 2) engineering specifications are categorized into strategies, constraints and Functional Requirements. In this paper, relationship of FR's and DP's is regarded as one in which uncertainty of information are fundamentally involved. In the reduction of problem with uncertainty, we propose an enhanced Axiomatic Design Process using Combinative Index.

플랜트 기자재 설계품질 향상을 위한 STAGE-GATE 기반 평가항목 개발 (Development of STAGE-GATE based Evaluation Index for the Improvement of Design Quality of Plant Material)

  • Worldwide plant market keeps maintaining steady growth rate and along with this trend, domestic plant market and its contractors also maintain such growing tendency. However, in spite of its external growth, win-win growth of domestic material industry that occupies the biggest share in plant industry cost portion is extremely marginal in reality. Domestic plant material suppliers are required to increase awareness of domestic material brand by securing quality and reliability of international standard through improvement of design quality superior to that of overseas material suppliers. Improvement of design quality of plant material becomes an essential element, not an option, for survival of domestic plant industry and its suppliers. Under this background, in this study, priority and importance by each evaluation index was analyzed by materializing plant design stage through survey of experts and defining evaluation index by each design stage and based on this analysis result, evaluation index of stage-gate based decision-making process that may improve design quality of plant material was suggested. It is considered that by utilizing evaluation index of stage-gate based decision-making process being suggested in this study, effective and efficient decision-making of project decision-makers would be enabled and it would be contributory to improve design quality of plant material.

  • The paper reviews Cronbaha's coefficient to measure a single source of error. On the contrary to classical measurement theory, the generalizability study can be used in the social survey design to calculate Generalizability Index (GI) and Dependability Index (DI) for measuring multiple sources of errors of behavior evaluation. The study proposes application guidelines to implement R:($A{\times}B$) mixed models that are composed of random factor and fixed factor.

  • 부모-자식 인터랙티브 게임 가구에 기초한 설계지표의 연구는 설계사들이 관련 상품의 설계의 장단점을 정량적으로 분석할 수 있게 하여 설계의 질을 관리하고 향상하는데 긍정적인 도움이 된다. 본 연구에서는 AHP와 TOPSIS를 결합하여 3가지 설계기준과 26가지 설계지수의 평가모델을 제안하였다. 각 지표에 대한 전문가들의 채점, 계산 및 일관성 테스트를 거쳐 각 설계지표의 가중치를 얻어낸 다음 각 지표의 중요정도에 따라 지표분류를 진행하였다. 분류결과 설계지표들을 8개의 중요지표와 11개의 보조지표, 7개의 일반지표로 분류하였다. 사례 연구에서는 TOPIS를 이용하였다. 세 종의 부모-자식 등반 게임 가구의 디자인 표본을 분석해 본 결과 세 표본의 상대 근접도는 최종적으로 각각 0.505, 0281 및 0.640 이였다. 연구를 통하여 AHP-TOPSIS 방법이 설계방안의 장단점을 과학적으로 효과적으로 분류 및 선별하고 관련 제품의 연구 및 개발에 참고를 제공할 수 있는 아주 유용한 방법이라는 것이 밝혀졌다.

틸팅 인덱스 테이블 구조해석 및 최적형상 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Structural Analysis and Optimum Shape Design of Tilting Index Table)

  • The tilting index table has attached to CNC machining center with 3axes, it can be improvement of its performance and its machining efficiency. The tilting index table is a key unit in order to manufacture some non-rotational and 3-dimensional parts, using the conventional machining center. In this study, structural analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using the commercial software ANSYS Workbench 11 to develop tilting index table using direct drive motor. The shape of the tilting index table obtained from the optimization was analyzed and compared with the initial model. Also, the initial model was modified based on the optimization model and the result was verified to have the acceptable improvement.

  • 구면 SELFOC 렌즈와 플라스틱 비구면 렌즈를 사용하여 mobile phone 광학계를 설계하였다. SELFOC 소재는 radial GRIN(gradient index) 분포를 가지며, 이것은 설계에 추가적인 자유도를 제공하므로, 비구면을 구면으로 대치할 수 있다. 두개의 플라스틱 비구면 렌즈로 구성된 통상적인 2P 광학계와 결상특성을 비교 하였다. 이 연구에서는 시판되고 있는 SELFOC 소재를 사용하여 1GRIN 1P 광학계를 설계하였다. 그러나 1GRIN 1P의 성능보다 통상적인 2P 광학계의 성능이 좋았다. 1GRIN 1P 설계에서 성능은 GRIN 소재의 굴절률 구배에 의지하므로 굴절률 구배가 클수록 좋은 성능을 보인다. 그러므로 큰 굴절률 구배를 갖는 가상의 GRIN 소재를 사용하여 광학계를 설계하였다. 현재 시판되는 SELFOC 소재보다 3배 정도 굴절률 구배가 큰 GRIN 소재가 개발된다면, 1GRIN 1P 광학계의 성능이 통상적인 2P 광학계의 성능과 유사하거나 더 좋아 질 것이다.

강건성을 고려한 공리적 설계의 새로운 정보 지수 (A New Information Index of Axiomatic Design for Robustness)

  • In product design and manufacturing, axiomatic design provides a systematic approach for the decision-making process. Two axioms have been defined such as the Independence Axiom and the Information Axiom. The Information Axiom states that the best design among those that satisfy the independence axiom is the one with the least information content. In other words, the best design is the one that has the highest probability of success. On the other hand, the Taguchi robust design is used in the two-step process; one is "reduce variability," and the other is "adjust the mean on the target." The two-step can be interpreted as a problem that has two FRs (functional requirements). Therefore, the Taguchi method should be used based on the satisfaction of the Independence Axiom. Common aspects exist between the Taguchi method and Axiomatic Design in that a robust design is induced. However, different characteristics are found as well. The Taguchi method does not have the design range, and the probability of success may not be enough to express robustness. Our purpose is to find the one that has the highest probability of success and the smallest variation. A new index is proposed to satisfy these conditions. The index is defined by multiplication of the robustness weight function and the probability density function. The robustness weight function has the maximum at the target value and zero at the boundary of the design range. The validity of the index is proved through various examples.gh various examples.
