A Study on the Clothing Behavior of High School Students in terms of Creativity, Individuality and Conformity (창의성, 개성, 동조성에 따른 고교생의 의복행동 연구)

  • This study examined the clothing behavior in terms of creativity, individuality and conformity. The subjects were 317 boys(mean age: 18) and 312 girls(mean age: 18) in third grade of high school, in which were situated at north and south part of Han-River in Seoul. They were administered with the following questionnaires to measure the attitudinal and behavioral conformity, creativity, individuality, clothing conformity, clothing nonconformity, clothing confidence, aesthetic sense, clothing importance, fashionability. Results indicated that (1) high school students who have high creativity showed higher scores in clothing nonconformity, clothing confidence, aesthetic sense, clothing importance than those who have low creativity. But there were no significant differences between two groups in clothing conformity and fashionability(p<0.001). (2) High school students who have high individuality showed higher scores in clothing conformity clothing, nonconformity, clothing confidence, aesthetic sense, clothing importance and fashionability than those who have low individuality(p<0.001). (3) Students who have low attitudinal conformity showed higher scores in clothing nonconformity, clothing confidence and aesthetic sense(p<0.001) and lower score in information and norm specific clothing confirmity(p<0.05) than those who have high attitudinal conformity. And those who have high behavioral conformity showed higher score in clothing confirmity than those who have low behavioral confirmity(p<0.05). From these findings, we could find that the importance of creativity and individuality was greater than that of conformity in clothing behavior. These results were discussed and following studies were suggested.

Development of Integrated Science and Art Teaching-Learning Programs for the Improvement of Creative Brain Activity of Scientifically Gifted Elementary School Student (초등과학영재의 창의적 두뇌 활성화를 위한 과학과 미술 통합 교수-학습 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop science and art integrated program to improve the creativity of scientifically gifted elementary school students. This study was to develop science and art integrated program to enhance the creativity of these subjects. This program was consisted of 30 lessons covering 10 topics. It was developed of five stages including the observation stage reflecting the characteristics of the right hemisphere relevant to creativity, the interest and curiosity stage, the experiment design and performing stage, the internalization stage, and the stage of expressing arts. This program was applied to 20 senior gifted students in Y Elementary School in Gyeonggi province. Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking(TTCT) was used in order to investigate and measure the effectiveness of the program before and after its use in class. The results of this study are as follows: First, this program showed results of significant improvement of creativity of scientifically gifted elementary school students after its use in class(p<.05). Second, it was significantly effective in increasing their creativity, especially in the subdomains such as originality, abstractness of title, and territory of resistance on hasty conclusions after its use in class(p<.05). Third, it was significantly effective to increase the Creativity Index that represents creative potential(p<.01). In particular, emotional expression, internalized visualization, unique visualization, and richness of the imagery emerged. This study implies that the science and art integrated program was closely related to the right hemisphere of the features enabling the subjects to create new ideas, new things, and new reactions. In addition, this program is expected to contribute to activate the brain areas of creativity for gifted students in the science field.

A Research on Blockchain-based Copyright Protection for Computational Creativity (컴퓨터적 창의력을 위한 블록체인 기반 저작권 보호 연구)

  • Computational creativity is a field of artificial intelligence research to replicate creativity of human beings, creating works in various fields or helping human authors. The copyright of works produced by computational creativity has not been established in most countries yet, however, there will be the need for systems to protect the copyrights with the development of the technology in the future. In this paper, we propose a copyright protection system based on blockchain technology that protects the copyright of various contributors contributing to the creation of computer creative creativity, and transparently and safely records the contribution of copyrighted works. The proposed system records the contribution of all related works from the machine learning of computer creativity to the creation of the final work on the blockchain so that it is possible to establish quantitative evaluation criteria for the copyright when the future copyright law system is revised.

A Study on the Development and Effect of Number-Operation Games for Mathematical Creativity of Gifted Students (초등 수학 영재의 창의성 향상을 위한 수 연산 게임 개발 및 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the number-operation games and to analyze the effects of the games on mathematical creativity of gifted elementary students. We set up the basic direction and standard of mathematical gifted creativity program and developed the 10 periods games based on the mathematically gifted creative problem solving(MG-CPS) model. And, to find out the change of students' creativity, the test based on the developed program and one group pretest-posttest design was conducted on 20 gifted students. Analysis of data using Leikin's evaluation model of mathematical creativity with Leikin's scoring and categorization frame revealed that gifted students's creativity is improved via the number-operation games.

Fashion Illustration Curriculum an analysis in Pursuit of Better Design Education (디자인 교육 강화를 위한 패션 일러스트레이션 교육과정의 개선방안 연구)

  • In today's college curriculum, fashion illustration courses are regarded as fundamental sources of knowledge in the fashion industry and the fine arts. The purpose of this study was to critically examine current curricula and educational objectives of fashion illustration courses offered by domestic fashion-related universities and academic institutions, in order to help the development of more effective tertiary level fashion education. Based on the results of data analysis, we suggest the following recommendations: Firstly, university courses should focus on drawing-centered fundamental education. Secondly, design education linked to fashion illustration should be strengthened. Thirdly, creativity-boosting design education is necessary. The range of curricula that could foster creativity and problem-solving skills in professionals should be enlarged, and future education should place emphasis on lateral and creative thinking. The result of this study are expected to contribute to the development of better curriculum in fashion-related education.

A Study on the Method to Apply LED to Fashion Design and Its Expression Characteristic (LED의 패션디자인 적용방법과 표현특성)

  • Fashion industry is high value added indust교, whose price is decided by design value so it requires creativity and uniqueness for competition. The purpose of this study is to grasp how the design characteristic of LED that can express new creativity and uniqueness is applied to fashion design and find out the expression characteristic of LED used in fashion design. The study subjects, the design to which LED is applied, were extracted from fashion show and internet search. As a study result, the expression characteristics of LED used for fashion design are as follows. First, for function, tool function that can provide convenience for life and expression function that can provide user with emotional and psychological satisfaction and communication were allowed. Second, for aesthetic changes, many-sided, multiple colors and pattern displays of LED changed design meaning visually and caused aesthetic emotion for observer. Third, for interaction, physical factor of LED, user, dress and environmental factor interacted each other, enabling both-sided communication. Fourth, for amusement, multiple lights of LED activated visual and tactile sense, expressing usefulness and joyfulness on the basis of various display possibilities and changes. The study result will be helpful for developing more unique, creative design according to the change of age and development of science.

Perception of Fashion Designer's Capability and Product Quality -Human vs. Human+AI vs. AI- (패션 디자인 주체에 따른 패션디자이너 역량 및 제품 품질 지각 -Human vs. Human+AI vs. AI-)

  • Collaboration between AI and fashion designers is becoming essential. Thus, this study explored (1) 321 consumer responses to fashion designers, comparing their capabilities and product quality across different designer types, (2) the relationship between designer capabilities and perceived product quality, and (3) the moderating role of AI knowledge in the effect of capabilities on perceived product quality. Data were analyzed using EFA, ANOVA, regression, and moderation analysis. The results indicated that subjects perceived human designers as having higher capabilities and perceived product quality than AI designers. All subjects' perceived creativity and empathy significantly impacted the perceived functionality, aesthetics, and symbolism-sociality of clothing. Additionally, the perceived creativity of AI and human+AI designers, and the perceived empathy of human and human+AI designers, significantly influenced the perceived functionality and symbolism-sociality, but the perceived creativity of human designers and empathy of AI designers did not directly impact perceived functionality and symbolism-sociality. Moreover, perceptions of the designers' capabilities significantly aesthetics in all subjects. Furthermore, low levels of perceived consumer AI knowledge enhanced the positive impact of perceived human+AI designers' creativity and empathy on perceived functionality and aesthetics. The study suggests that fashion companies should refrain from revealing AI designers at this time.

Exploring the Creativity of the Scientific Gifted from Analyzing Descriptive Experiment-Design (서술적 실험 설계분석을 통한 과학 영재 창의성 탐색)

  • This study investigated factors of creativity and interaction between factors that are revealed when gifted students designed scientific experiments. For this, we firstly developed items which required the written process of designing experiments to explore creativity factors. Then, we used these items as a part for letters of self-introduction to students who applied for 2011 correspondence education of general physics for the Korea Physics Olympiad. 513th letters of self-introduction which were analyzed to investigate factors of creativity in view of creativity definition after researchers' consultation, which specifically means a combination of divergent and convergent thinking. The results were as follows; (1) in the step of hypothesis building, we could not only find Originality and the Flexibility & Fluency, which were factors of divergent thinking, but also Coherency and Elaborateness, which were factors of convergent thinking. (2) in the step of the hypothesis testing, we could explore Originality, Flexibility & Fluency in divergent thinking and Coherency, Reliability, Clarity, Elaborateness in convergent thinking. (3) we also figured out three creativity types of gifted students from the viewpoint that creativity is a consequence of interaction between divergent thinking and convergent thinking; a) Type A showed divergent and convergent factors of creativity in the step of hypothesis building. However, type A did not include divergent factors of creativity on the process of the hypothesis testing. b) Type B had divergent and convergent factors of creativity on the process of the hypothesis testing, but it had not convergent factors of creativity on the step of hypothesis building. c) Finally, in Type C, only divergent factors of creativity appeared on the process of the hypothesis testing, but convergent factors of creativity could be found on the step of hypothesis building and hypothesis testing.
