  • The properties of concrete damaged by fire change according to the temperature. Diffusion coefficient of chloride ion also can change which affect the life expectation under salt circumstance. Diffusion coefficient was measured by NT BUILD 492 using the concrete specimen damaged by high temperature. FEM analysis was performed to predict the life expectancy which can help to diagnose the concrete diagnose and to design maintenance strategy.

  • A recent research and development has the requirement for the optimization to shorten design time of modified or new product model and to obtain more precise engineering solution. General optimization problem must consider many conflicted objective functions simultaneously. Multi-objective optimization treats the multiple objective functions and constraints with design change. But, real engineering problem doesn't describe accurate constraint and objective function owing to the limit of representation. Therefore this study applies variance analysis on the basis of structure analysis and DOE to the vertical roller mill fur portland cement and proposed statistical design model to evaluate the effect of structural modification with design change by performing practical multi-objective optimization considering mass, stress and deflection.

  • Carbody bolster must be a strong structural member of the underframe because it is in the direct line of weight transmission. On the other hand, carbody bolster is a heavy member that occupied about 20~25% in the weight of underframe. In order to reduce the weight of carbody bolster, we study the design factors such as bending stiffness, bending strength and deformation according to the change of carbody bolster's second moment of area. And we investigate the design factors of a total of 10 species of existing rail vehicles. The results of this study can be used as practicable method in designing carbody bolster in the future.

  • The important parts of the developing AGV model are fabrication of each part and design technology of the body frame. In present day, design of the body frame is depend on the experience of the industry place and the systematic data and the optimal design technology of the frame for the case of model change is insufficient. In this study, the strengths of the AGV(Automatic guided vehicle)are examined with the 3-dimensional Finite Element method. In order to verify the FE results, the computed results are compared with the experimental results are compared with the experimental data from the strain-gage output data. New model designed by removing some parts of the initial model and choosing the thickness change of the rectangular-pipes.

Because cutout's existence gnaws in this place, and, elastic buckling strength by load causes large effect in ultimate strength. Therefore, perforated plate elastic buckling strength and ultimate strength is one of important design criteria which must examine when decide structural elements size at early structure design step of ship. Therefore, and, reasonable elastic buckling strength about perforated plate need design ultimate strength. Calculated ultimate strength change several aspect ratioes and cutout's dimension. and thickness in this investigation. • This paper presents a parametric study on the behavior of integral abutment PSC beam bridge. An integral abutment bridge is a simple span or multiple span continuous deck type bridge having the deck integral with the abutment wall. The rational structural model and design load combinations accounting for each construction stage are proposed. It can be used for defining the effect of earth pressure and temperature change in the design process including for determining maximum flexural responses. The bending moment at each response location due to the design load combination is investigated according to the change of flexural rigidity of piles and abutment height. The flexural responses of proposed model are computed for the cases of applying the Rankine passive earth pressure and the earth pressure based on the soil-structure interaction respectively, and the results are discussed.

  • Reengineering to object-oriented system is needed to maintain the system and satisfy requirements of structure change. Target systems which should be reengineered to object-oriented system are difficult to change because these systems have no design document or their design document is inconsistent of source code. Using design document to identifying objects for these systems is improper. There are several researches which identify objects through procedural source code analysis. In this paper, we propose automatic object identification method based on clustering of VTFG(Variable-Type-Function Graph) which represents relations among variables, types, and functions. VTFG includes relations among variables, types, and functions that may be basis of objects, and weights of these relations. By clustering related variables, types, and functions using their weights, our method overcomes limit of existing researches which identify too big objects or objects excluding many functions. The method proposed in this paper minimizes user's interaction through automatic object identification and make it easy to reenginner procedural system to object-oriented system.

  • This work presents an advanced and systematic approach to analytically design the optimal parameters of a two parameter second-order internal model control (IMC) filter that satisfies operational constraints on the output process, the manipulated variable as well as rate of change of the manipulated variable, for a first-order plus dead time (FOPDT) process. The IMC parameters are designed to minimize a control objective function composed of the weighted sum of the error between the process variable and the set point, and the rate of change of the manipulated variable, and to satisfy the desired constraints. The feasible region of the constrained IMC control parameters was graphically analyzed, as the process parameters and the constraints varied. The resulting constrained IMC control parameters were also used to find the corresponding industrial proportional-integral controller parameters of a Smith predictor structure.
