  • The study was conducted to evaluate the nutritional value of seeds and various seed fractions of different varieties of cotton (MNH 147, CIM 240, NIAB 78, FH 87, CIM 109, MNH 93, FH 682, GOHAR 87, SLS I and B 557). Linter, hull, kernel and meal were obtained from cottonseed by physical and chemical methods. Free gossypol and available lysine contents of seed and it's fractions were determined. In vitro protein digestibility of cottonseed meal was also determined. Free gossypol and available lysine contents ranged between 0.22-2.26% and 0.64-1.32% in seed, and 0.03-0.29% and 1.38-2.36% in meal, respectively. FH 87 was highest both in free gossypol and available lysine content, and NIAB 78 was lowest in free gossypol content and FH 862 was lowest in available lysine content. In vitro protein digestibility of cottonseed meal ranged between 66,02-79,96%. Statistical analysis revealed significant (p<0.05) varietal differences in free gossypol, available lyslne and in vitro protein digestibility of cottonseed and derived products.

  • Optimization of production system of polyester manufacturing companies is an important task for strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic polyester industry. The purpose of this study is to present a way to evaluate the goodness of the polyester manufacturing systems determined by the combinations of production facilities and to derive the optimal configuration of the production system. To this end, the criteria or factors for the evaluating polyester production system were derived and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used. Using the AHP model, we derived weights on the criteria for evaluating polyester production system and drew priorities for the configurations of the production systems under consideration.

  • This study aims to investigate cultural contents planning model by 'The Relation-Approach'. For this, I established conceptual framework of cultural contents, and suggested the General Model of Cultural Sentence Contents Planning: Concept Planning Model(CPM), Signifier Development & Choice Planning Model(SDCPM), Signifier Arrangement Planning Model(SAPM). The importance of culture is found in the importance of perceiving culture derived from the perception of importance of life. As culture is represented way of life constituted in the order of life, perceiving culture is regarded as perception of life in the view of that of cultural contents. Thus, cultural contents planning has not only its necessity and importance but also the meaning of existence in the aspect of being situated at the healthy order of life. Accordingly, A Study on the Cultural Contents Planning Model has usefulness in theory and practice, further more the possibility of attempting for the legitimacy and value contribution to the study of this realm will be accomplished.

  • Recently, the application of unsaturated-soil theory is concerned in practice. Most characteristics of unsaturated-soil is the relationship between volumetric water contents and matric suction. Usually the volume water contents is estimated by the relationship between gravity water contents and volume water contents because of the difficulty of measurement of volumetric water contents. In this case, the water exists in only void of soil, and the relationship between gravity water contents and volume water contents is calculated by only water in void, but in fact, the water exists in the particle of the soil. So the real volume water contents is different with calculated volume water contents derived by the relationship containing only void water. The object of this research is to revise the relationship between volume water contents and gravity water contents by using the absorptivity tests of the soil particle.

  • In order to discuss the mechanical properties of fiber reinforced composites with fly ash, lime, gypsum and polymer emulsion-Stylene Butadiene Rubber Latex (SBR) , experimental studies on FRC were carried out. The kinds of fiber used in FRC are PAN-dervied and Pitch-derived carbon fiver, alkali-resistance glass fiber. As a test results, the flexural strength and tougthness of fiber reinforced fly ash. lime.gypsum cement composites are remarkably increased by fiber contents ,but compressive strength of the composites are influenced by kinds of fiber more than by fiber contents. Also, addition of a polymer emulsion (SBR) to the composites decreased the bulk specific gravity, but compressive and flexural strengths, toughness of the composites are not influenced by it, are considerably improved by increasing fiber contents.

  • In order to get a quantitative information of capsaicin intakes derived from Korean daily spicy food, capsaicin contents in powdered red hot peppers and powdered soup of Korean instant noodles were measured by high performance liquid chromatography. Capsaicin contents were 0.03~0.33mg/g in the powdered hot pepper, 3.67~5.50mg/g in the powdered soup with most spicy taste, 2.15~3.14 mg/g in the soup with medium level of spicy, and below 1.5mg/g in the soup with mild taste of Korean instant noodles. From the results, it was estimated that the amounts of daily intake of capsaicin from hot pepper were about 0.38~4.95mg/day, and capsaicin intakes from one pack of Korean instant noodles were about 10~60mg.

  • Concentrations of several heavy metals in soils derived from black shale and slate have been reported to be higher than the average concentrations in non-polluted soils. This study describes and characterizes soil minerals, and investigates the distribution of heavy metals in soils, and then examines their relationship. Soils in the study area are mainly consist of guartz and feldspars with minor amount of kaolin, illite, vermiculite, chlorite and illite-vermiculite interstratified minerals. Mineral compositions are similar in mountain-, farmland-, and paddy-soils. The residual soils derived from sandy phyllites contain less illites than those from black shale and black slate. Heavy metals appear to be more concentrated in soils than in rocks. The concentrate ratios in soils to rocks ranges 1.1 times for Cr, 2 for Cu, 1.4 for Ni. The contour maps of Cd, Zn, Pb, Cu contents using 0.43N $HNO_3$-extraction imply that these elements are highly concentrated in the soils near the past uranium exploration region, coal seams, black slate beds and tailings than other parts of the study area. The proportions of the day in most soils are less than 10%. In spite of small proportions of the clay, the concentrations of heavy metals from clay fractions to the total concentrations are high: 1~2.4 times for Co, 1.4~2.5 for Cu, 1.2~2.6 for Ni, 1~5 for Pb, 1~2.7 for Zn and 1.6~1.8 for Cr and V. The contents of organic carbons in clay fractions are also 1.5~3.9 times higher than in silt and sand fractions. Cu, Pb and organic carbons show positive relationship in all size fractions. In the size-fractionated soil profile samples, the contents of heavy metals and organic carbons show analogous trends with depth. For the clay fractions of soil profile samples, the contents of heavy metals with depth have analogous trends to abundances of vermiculites, which have the high CEC in main clay minerals.

  • The analysis of the tourist industry in relation to the general industries is of high use as a means to measure an economic effectiveness as the interest in the policy of service industry increases. From the Input-Output Tables of both 2007 and 2008, Inverse Matrix Coefficients, Imports Requirement Coefficients, and Value Added Requirement Coefficients have been derived. As a result of analysis, the main indexes of the industry-related analysis have almost no differences as compared with those of the 1980s. In spite of the reduction in the scope of the tourist industry in this paper, it is estimated that the reason why the above-mentioned result has been derived is that the influence of today's tourist industry grows bigger than that of the past. In the future studies, the agreement on the classification of tourist industry is requested. In addition, all kinds of calculations have to be derived in general, and the general parts of the tourist industry have to be analyzed in details.
