A Study on the Job Satisfaction and It's related Variables (직무만족(職務滿足)과 관련(關聯) 변인(變人)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • This study was conducted to investigate the job satisfaction of the dental technicians and evalate the relationship between it’s scores and certain variables. One hundred eighty dental technicians were sampled from 300 among the 2552 dental technicians by wide distribution method, in September 1990. Data were collected by administering the instrument, the researcher developed for measuring the independent and dependent variables. The statistical methods utilized in this study were one-way analysis of variance, correlation and multiple regression analysis. The data were analyzed by SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science), utilizing PC. The statistical significance was tested at 0.05 level. The major findings of the study were as follows : 1. The job satisfaction measuring instrument, the researcher developed, could measured the job satisfaction of dental technicians. The Maximum score of the instrument was 125, the highest score of dental technicians was 106, the lowest score was obtained 38, the mean score was 72.228 and standard deviation was 12.804. 2. The personal variables of dental technicians were related with the job satisfaction scores. The job satisfaction scores were positively correlated, at 0.01 level, with the scores of age(r=0.379), year(r=0.218), aptitude(r=0.415), marry(r=0.202), income(r=0.381), career(r=0.316). 3. The family variables scores of dental technicians were not correlated with the job satisfaction scores. 4. The personal characteristics of dental technicians were related with the job satisfaction. The job satisfaction score were positively correlated beyond the significant level, with the cheerfulness scores(r=0.398) and stability scores(r=0.224). 5. The job-related variables of the dental technicians were related with the job satisfaction scores. The correlation coefficient between job satisfaction scores and turnover scores was r=0.23, and quantity scores was r=0.300.

  • The great sudenn change of circle of dental laboratory technology brought mary discord between the new growing environmental group and the old group, In order to know the satisfactory degree of dental laboratory heads about all dental College, This Study was conducted for 49 detal technicians who graduated from junior laboratory heads in Seoul and Kyoung Gi area. The results are abtained as follow- 1. By age The degree of Satisfaction of items about all graduate dental technician were "41$\sim$45 age" group 26.53%), "46$\sim$50 age" group 22.45%, "36$\sim$40 age" group 18.36%, "31$\sim$35 age" group 12.24%, "51$\sim$55 age" group and "56$\sim$60 age" group 8.16% 60$\sim$age group 4.08% in order. 2. By Job Career. The Highest degree item out of Satisfaction about all graduated dental dental technician was 21$\sim$25 years group 28.5%, 16$\sim$20 years 20.4%, 11$\sim$15 years group 12.24%, 26$\sim$20%, 6$\sim$10 years group 4.08%, below 5 years group 2.04% in order. 3. By managing term of respondent's dental laboratory. The Satisfactory degree of items about all gradate technician were 7$\sim$10 years group 36.73% over 15 years group 22.45%, 11$\sim$14 years group 20.41%, 3$\sim$6 years group 14.29% below 2 years group 6.12% in order 4. By dental technician number of respondent's dental laboratory. The satisfactory degree intems about man were as follow; 6$\sim$9 persons group is 42.86 % The Satisfactory degree items about woman were one persons group in 34.69% 5. By born place The dental laboratory heads mean of inters about all dental technician were Seoul group 20.64 %, Kyoung Gi 17.20 %, Jen Nam group 14.99 % Chung Nam 9.5%in order 6. The satisfactory degree of items about all graduate dental technician were neither good nor bad group 32.65%, bad 6.12%, By ability of adaptaton, The satisfactory degree items about man were neither good nor bad group 42.86%, bad group 40.82%. The satisfactory degree of items about woman were neither good nor bad group 40.82% bad group 36.73%. 7. By sincerity. The satisfactory degree of items about man dental technician who graduated from Junior College were neither good nor bad group 52.02%, bad group 4.08, The satisfactory degree about woman dental technician graduated from Junior College were neither good nor bad group 42.86%, bad group 6.12%. 8. By ability of basical of items about man were bad group 40.82 %. The satisfactory degree about woman were 46.94%. 9. By cooperation relation ship. The satisfactory degree of items about man were neither good nor bad group 42.86%, bad group 10.20%. The satisfactory degree about woman were neither good nor bad group 42.86%, bad group 10.20 %. 10. By ability of work. The satisfactory degree of items about man were neither good nor bad group 48.98%, bad group 4.08%. By occupational satisfaction. The satisfactory degree of items about all graduate dental technician were fatisfied group 14.29%. By the out look of employment. The satisfactory degree of items about man greduate dental technician were neither good nor bad group 34.69 %, bad group 10.20%, about woman graduate dental technician were neither good nor bad group 44.90%, bad group 10.20%, Their employment prospect is not so bright or oprimistic due to the glut supply by graduates in the job-seeking market 13. The satisfactory rate on the artificial dental manufacturing world in terms of effects produced by juror College graduate dental technicians shared good group 40.82% bad group 2.04% 14. By cognition of the number of graduate dental technician. The satisfactory degree of dental laboratory heads about man graduate dental technician were too many group 38.78%, few group 6.12% about woman graduated dental technician were neither good nor bad group 30.6% few group 10,20%, The employment opportunities for the artifical dental technicians are getting decreased because of their excessive cumber in supply 15. The opinion regarding the initial salary. ranging from \160,000 to \200,000 for the junior college graduate dental technicians shared 57.14%. The top ratio, while the satisfaction reate on the academic study period of "3-year" group shared 22%, also the top ratio. 16. The improvement policy and prblematic issues presonted by the owner and operatore of atriticial dental manufacturing plants are as shown below First; The viewpoint that they contribute to the improvement of people's oral health in terms of their mission as artificial dental technicians. Second: The cultivation of basic technical ability to cope with clinical practice upon graduation Third; They require guidance in study and research in their filed of profession, that tray may beable to estaclish a from theory.

A Study on the Job Transfer of Dental Technicians (치과기공사의 이직에 관한 연구)

  • This study mainly intends to determine the factors for which dental technicians are satisfied with their jobs and how much the resulting job transfer rate is and thus to identify the correlation between them. For these purpose, 200 subjects were sampled out of dental technicians in Seoul and Incheon, and the survey was performed from July 19, 2002 to August 15 (for 25 days) with self-administered questionnaire. Out of all collected questionnaires, 131 pieces(65.5%) were addressed for this study. As for the tools for this study, the structured questionnaire was used with its proven reliability and feasibility, and the contents of questionnaire consisted of 32 questions on the basis of related references. The contents of questionnaire were categorized into 3 sections: General attribute of subjects; Factors for which dental technicians are satisfied with their jobs; and their intention of job transfer. The questionnaire consisted of total 32 questions which included general attribute of subjects(10 questions), factors of their satisfaction with jobs(17 questions) and intention of job transfer(5 questions). The data analysis was processed by computerized system with SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences). Statistical analysis techniques included frequency, percentage, T-test, F-test analysis and regression analysis. As a result of those analyses, the conclusion can be summarized as follows: 1. As a result of analyzing the factors for which the subjects were satisfied with their jobs, it was found that there were significant differences in career and job title out of question items(P<0.001). It was also shown that the factors of subjects' satisfaction averaged 3.43, which was considerably higher value than I expected. It was found that job and management factors were major job satisfaction factors. 2. As a result of analyzing the intention of subjects to decide their job transfer, it was found that there were significant differences in job title and marital status out of question items(P<0.001). It was shown that the total average of the intention of their job transfer amounted to 3.06. It was shown that dental technicians have relatively higher intention of job transfer from their current work place. 3. It was found that there was inverse correlation between the factors of subjects' satisfaction with their jobs and their intention of job transfer(r=-0.490, P<0.05). Likewise, it was also found that there was inverse correlation mostly between the evaluation value for each independent variable region in term of each factor of job satisfaction and the value for the intention of job transfer. In view of these correlations, it was concluded that higher job satisfaction likely led to lower job transfer. 4. As a result of regression analysis so as to determine the influences of job satisfaction factors on the intention of job transfer, it was found that the highest influential factor was management factor. And it was shown that the test values of model were statistically significant and its explanatory power amounted to 54.6%.

Analysis of infrared thermal image for melting processes of Co-Cr-Mo based alloy using high frequency induction casting machine (치과용 고주파 주조기를 이용한 Co-Cr-Mo계 합금 용해과정의 적외선 열화상 분석)

  • Purpose: Dental casting Co-Cr-Mo based alloys of five kinds of ingot type and two kinds of shot type were analyzed the melting processes with heating time of high frequency induction centrifugal casting machine using infrared thermal image analyzer. Methods: When Co-Cr-Mo based alloys were put about 30g/charge in the ceramic crucible of high frequency induction centrifugal casting machine and heat, Infrared thermal image analyzer and IR thermometer indicated these alloys in the crucible were set and operated. Results: The melting temperatures of alloys measuring infrared thermal image analyzer were deviated ${\pm}10^{\circ}C$ compared to those of manufacturing company. On the other hand, the melting time of alloys were differently appeared with the shape of alloys(ingot and shot type). Conclusion: The melting temperatures of dental Co-Cr-Mo based alloys were measured the degree of $1,360{\sim}1410^{\circ}C$ and the heating time with the alloys of ingot and shot type were deviated ${\pm}10sec$.

A Study on Satisfaction Factors with Dental Implant Patients (치과용 임플란트 보철물적용환자의 만족요인)

  • This research has been attempt to examine closely factors that high cost and value to overall satisfaction state for dental implant prosthesis, re-utilization intention, inducement intention of the general hospital dental service user and provide basis data necessary to establish competitive general hospital dentistry management strategy. Collected data using own recording way questionnaire from April 17, 2004 to May 15, 2004 choosing 142 people that agree on this research and question of 361 people that dental implant prosthetic treatment finished from March 1, 1999 to March 1, 2004 for this. Major analyzation consequences are as follows : First, general satisfaction, re-utilization intention, inducement intention for implant prosthesis that highly correlation variables are kindness, explanation, medical treatment level and appreciation of the aesthetic. Second, correlation is high relatively between re-utilization intention, inducement intention in the 3 variables such as general satisfaction re-utilization intention, inducement intention. Third, the result of multiple regression analysis showed that most significant effective factors are satisfaction with explanation of dental implant prosthesis between the 3 dependant variables such as general satisfaction, re-utilization intention, inducement intention. In looking into these consequence, how to improve that raise satisfaction about dental implant prosthetic treatment and to establish patient focused care service system for dental implant prosthesis, it is consider that explain enough about implant prosthesis and raise quality of medical examination and treatment level, including satisfied with fabrication of good esthetic dental implant prosthesis.

  • This experimental study was performed to investigate the effect of the wax extension method of posterior palatal seal area, introduced by Vig, on the amount of the vertical occlusal change of processed dentures. Twenty samples of maxillary wax trial dentures were constructed. Among them, the posterior palatall seal of ten samples were extended with wax over the posterior wall of the cast while that of the other ten were not. Then all were processed with self-curing resin and the amount of the vertical occlusal change was compared. The obtained result was that this method was proved to be effective in reducing the amount of the vertical occlusal change occuring in denure proccsing.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of spure designs and air vent on the relative castability of the nonprecious alloys, commonly used to make ceamometal restorations. Samples of total 30 were constructed and devided into 6 groups according to two variables, sprue design and air bent. The total number of completly cast squares was counted, verified, and recorded. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The runner bar or Rousseau designs yield better castability than reservoir design(P<0.1) 2. When the air vent was attached, only the castability of reservoir design was significantly different from runner bar or Rousseau designs.

A Study on the Health Status of Dental Technicians by Todai Health Index(THI) (THI에 의한 일부 치과기공사의 건강상태에 관한 조사 연구)

  • This study aims to present a fundamental data base to figure out the mental and the physical conditions that the dental technicians are facing and ultimately to develop a health care program to deal with their health related problems. To this end, we took an analysis on the health status among the subjects of 895 dental technicians currently working at the dental lab around the nation from January 15 to March 31, 2009 by way or Todai Health Index(THI). Of the average scale point in accordance with 12 scale scores of the physical and the mental subjective symptom, the results revealed that the physical appeals (21.10) were higher than the mental appeals (18.49) and the multiple subjective symptom was marked as 38.44 followed by the mental irritability (25.92). In gender differences, the females proved to be higher than the males in both physical appeals and mental appeals while the physical appeals were dominant in both genders. The physical appeals were higher than the mental appeals with regard to the general characteristics. In the case or the group or age twenties as shown in the physical and mental average scale point, the other groups showed 21.55% of the physical appeals among the married whereas the mental appeals showed the highest point as 18.70 in the unmarried group. In job position, the other groups marked the highest, in working condition, below average group marked the highest, in frequency of break time, none group marked the highest. We drew a conclusion form this study that the dental technicians gained the higher points in the item or the multiple subjective symptom, the menial irritability, and the irregular life. More research on th is phenomena should be followed along with the development of various and practical health care programs to promote the health or dental technicians.

A Study on Cariogenic Food Intake of the Primary School Children in Subures of Seoul (서울근교지역 국민학교 아동들의 우식성 식품 섭식실태 연구)

  • Dental caries is one of the main factors to cause the teeth to be lost. Diet is the important factor in the development of dental caries. Today, Dental plaque control, Fluoride to pical application, Fissure sealing and Diet control are used to prevent dental caries. By the five day diet diary, the author surveyed the food in take of 600 infants aged from 10 to 12 in the subures of Seoul. Using the cariogenic food intake analysis form, the detergent food intake analysis form and the basic food intake analysis form, the data were collected, analysed and discussed. After discussing the results, the author concluded as follows : 1. The intake frequency of meals per day was 4.91 times, of which 2.74 times taken at meals and 2.17 times at between meals. Girls(5.00) had taken more times than boys(4.69) at meals an between meals. 2. The intake frequency of cariogenic food per day was 1.93 times, Liquid cariogenic food was taken 0.05 times at meals, and 0.58 times at between meals. Solid cariogenic food was taken 0.05 times at meals, and 0.08 times at between meals. Girls(1.67) had taken cariogenic food more times than boys(1.46). 3. The percentage of intake without detergent food of each intake time per head per day was 71.62% at meals, and 85.7% at between meals. The highest percentage was at evening meals. Boys(44.00%) had taken more detergent food than girls(56.71%). 4. Both boys and girls had the basic food intake taken enough only in 2nd group of basic food, lacking in the other 4 groups. Girls had taken the basic food comparatively more times than boys.

A study on the difference of movement between Semi adjustable articulator and Oral in vivo (반조절성교합기와 구강에서의 운동 오차에 대한 비교 연구)

  • The movement range on the semi adjustable articulator and the movement range in an oral were measured. And then I studied to analyze the gap. I got wax records by the movement on the semi adjustable articulator, the movement in an oral. I measured the distance of the cusp tips that are close to the mesial direction and the distal direction, the buccal direction and the lingual direction then I compared gaps. As I saw results on data, I knew that the semi adjustable articulator represented the range of mandibular movement restrictively. I could find the decisive contradiction that the sliding movement finished on the semi adjustable articulator although it did not finish in an oral. When the sliding movement does not reappear exactly, it brings a fatal failure to the dental prosthesis. In addition it is impossible that the semi adjustable articulator restores the movement in an oral because the lateral condyle inclination and the horizontal condyle inclination are appeared to be straight. Therefore dental prosthesisses were made by the semi adjustable articulator, they will interfere with a mastication. I have obtained the following results; 1. The distance of sliding movement on the semi adjustable articulator showed shorter than the distance of sliding movement in oral. This means the increase of cusp inclination of the dental prosthesis that was made on the semi adjustable articulator. Therefore, when the lateral movement occurs in oral, there is a possibility to become the premature as the increase of cusp inclination. 2. The difference in the range of movement is considered as the gap that is made because the movement only can be occurred as straight in the semi adjustable articulator. 3. When the dental technician understand mandibular movement and articulator deficiencies, they can attain proficiency in use of the articulator and reduce the gap.
