  • Prevalence of Agile methods in software companies is increasing dramatically. Software companies need to employ these methods to overcome the inherent challenges of traditional methods. However, transitioning to Agile approach is a topic of debate and there is no unique and well-defined transition model or framework yet. Although some research studies have addressed barriers and strengths behind the successful Agile deployment, it seems that this process still needs to be studied more in depth. The rationale behind this is the socio-technical nature of Agile transition and adoption. Particularly, the challenges and problems that software companies are facing during Agile transition, show that this process in more difficult than expected. Conducting a large-scale research study revealed that Agile transition and adoption process needs to be supported by several critical prerequisites. This study adopted a Ground Theory with the participation of 49 Agile experts from 13 different countries and empirically identified seven transition prerequisites. These prerequisites focus on the different aspects of the transition. The main aim of this paper is proposing these prerequisites and theoretical and practical implication of these prerequisites. Providing these prerequisites before moving to Agile increases chance of success in Agile transition and adoption and leads to fewer challenges during the change process.

  • The objective of this paper is to describe a systematic accident scenario analysis method(SASA) adept at creating accident scenarios for the design of safer products. This approach was inspired by the Quality Function Deployment(QFD) method, which is conventionally used in quality management. In this study, the QFD provides a formal and systematic scheme to devise accident scenarios while maintaining objectivity. SASA consists of three key stages to be broken down into a series of consecutive steps:(1) developing an accident analysis tableau,(2) devising the accident scenarios using the accident analysis tableau,(3) performing a feasibility test, a clustering process and a patterning process, and finally(4) performing quantitative evaluation of each accident scenario. The SASA was applied to a case study of child safety seats. The accident analysis tableau devised 2828(maximum) accident scenarios from all possible relationships between the hazard factors and situation characteristics. Among them, 270 scenarios were devised through the feasibility test and the clustering process. The patterning process reduced them to 29 patterns representative of all accident scenarios. Based on an intensive analysis of the accident patterns, design guidelines for a safer child safety seat were recommended. The implications of the study on the child safety seat case were then discussed.

  • A long-drawn out debate in the field of technology is whether it is value-neutral or value-laden. While some have argued that this debate has been resolved given the increasingly accepted view that technology is socially constructed, this is still not reflected in mainstream research which still assumes that technology is neutral. What is clear is that both views tend to be linked to studies that primarily focus on explicit forms of technology such as technological designs and their usage. These studies, though significant, may be limited in terms of an underemphasis on the process by which these technologies emerge, a process that requires decision-making activities made by different stakeholders and thus involves value judgments. In order to understand the extent of value-neutrality or value-ladenness of technologies, therefore, it is important to examine not only the final outcomes but also the process involved in technological development (including the artifacts created and used). In this study, we explored how values may be embedded in a specific IT application, and in cases of conflict of values, how they are prioritized. We did this in the context of applications development through an examination of the stages ranging from requirements analysis to coding to testing and deployment.

  • In this paper, we investigate the requirements of QPA(Quality Process Audit), which is a process quality audit system for secondary defense contractors, compared with those of DQMS(Defense Quality Management System). And evaluate whether the deployment of QPA meets the DQMS certification requirements through the case example of Company H. The evaluation items of QPA are composed of five categories such as Material Management, Incoming Inspection, Manufacturing Process, Product Evaluation, and Packaging Management. The QPA requirements are mainly related to the chapter 7(support) and chapter 8(operation) of DQMS standards. In this view point, QPA can be expected as an effective audit for suppliers preparing for DQMS certification. In the case example, we evaluate the results and effects of improvement due to QPA and compare it with the case of DQMS. QPA can be used as appropriate quality management standards of secondary and tertiary defense contractors and can provide the basis guidelines for the preparation of implementation steps in DQMS certification.

  • Ethical hackers are using different tools and techniques to encounter malicious cyber-attacks generated by bad hackers. During the software development process, development teams typically bypass or ignore the security parameters of the software. Whereas, with the advent of online web-based software, security is an essential part of the software development process for implementing secure software. Security features cannot be added as additional at the end of the software deployment process, but they need to be paid attention throughout the SDLC. In that view, this paper presents a new, Ethical Hacking - Software Development Life Cycle (EH-SDLC) introducing ethical hacking processes and phases to be followed during the SDLC. Adopting these techniques in SDLC ensures that consumers find the end-product safe, secure and stable. Having a team of penetration testers as part of the SDLC process will help you avoid incurring unnecessary costs that come up after the data breach. This research work aims to discuss different operating systems and tools in order to facilitate the secure execution of the penetration tests during SDLC. Thus, it helps to improve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the software products.

  • We propose a container orchestration system for process workloads that combines the potential of big data and machine learning technologies to integrate enterprise process-centric workloads. This proposed system analyzes big data generated from industrial automation to identify hidden patterns and build a machine learning prediction model. For each machine learning case, training data is loaded into a data store and preprocessed for model training. In the next step, you can use the training data to select and apply an appropriate model. Then evaluate the model using the following test data: This step is called model construction and can be performed in a deployment framework. Additionally, a visual hierarchy is constructed to display prediction results and facilitate big data analysis. In order to implement parallel computing of PCA in the proposed system, several virtual systems were implemented to build the cluster required for the big data cluster. The implementation for evaluation and analysis built the necessary clusters by creating multiple virtual machines in a big data cluster to implement parallel computation of PCA. The proposed system is modeled as layers of individual components that can be connected together. The advantage of a system is that components can be added, replaced, or reused without affecting the rest of the system.

  • Face the process yield rate improvements of motherboard, although general enterprises finish deployment goal of each functions by overall quality managements, through quality improvement methods, industry engineering methods, plan-do-check-act (PDCA) methods and other improvement solutions, but it is only can be improved partially and unable to enhance the yield rate of product to the target. It only can takes one step ahead to enhance the process yield rate of motherboard with six sigma ($6{\sigma}$) overall DMAIC process and tactics. This research aimed to use six sigma quality improvement tactics by DMAIC systematic procedure and tactics, and find the key factors that effect to the process yield rate of surface mount technology. It also identified the keys input and process and output index to satisfy customer requirements and internal process index. The results showed that the major effective factors by fishbone and process failure modes and effects analysis (PFMEA). If the index of input and output that can be quantified, the optimum parameter can be found through design of experiment to ensure that the process is stable. If the factor of input and output that cannot be quantified, we found out the effective countermeasure by Mind_Mapping, make sure whole processes can be controlled stably, to reach the high product quality and enhance the customer satisfaction.

  • The AEC industry is highly interested in effective ICT adoption and deployment, including its utilization within the design process. However, its capabilities have not yet been fully exploited and it is an obvious area for further research. Architects and engineers tend to have some technological support to monitor and evaluate the possible impacts of decisions made throughout the design process. Many aspects are left out of consideration and the entire project is broken up into independent fragments or domains that are combined together at a later, post hoc stage. Impact of separate decisions on each others have to be interpreted on a person-to-person basis between the involved design stakeholders. This paper attempts to evaluate current design practice and associated challenges towards design integration with advanced technologies, such as BIM, by conducting an online survey targeted at designers and engineers, who are most affected by its emerging issues. The outcomes of this study are presented and analysed, concluding that the current design process fails to meet expectations and needs improvements. It goes further to propose the requirements for an integrated system as a means for an effective solution for the identified problem.

  • In this paper, a conceptual design process for Very Light Jet aircraft has been proposed incorporating aircraft safety certification. During the proposed design process, satisfaction of the airworthiness certification for an intermediate resulting aircraft configuration is evaluated and then redesigns are carried out if necessary and until the designed aircraft configuration satisfies the airworthiness requirements. Certification database has been developed using FAR 23, AC 23, KAS 23, and CS 23 as the airworthiness certification. Based on the developed certification database Design Certifcation Related Table has been produced to use the airworthiness requirements as design constraints in the propsed design process. Using Quality Function Deployment the design variables for a redesign are carefully selected and a design optimization is performed. To demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of rapid aircraft conceptual design using the proposed approach, a Very Light Jet design optimization including a redesign of wing flap has been performed and the design results have been presented.

  • Recently, the increased handling of on-line standards information has emerged as an important feature of information and communications technology (ICT) standardization. In order to meet market needs for on-time standards deployment, most standards organizations are actively seeking more efficient ways of standardization using electronic means in order to accelerate the standards making process. This paper suggests a virtual standard development environment designed for standards developers to carry out their standards-related activities on-line. In this paper, we outline a conceptual model of a concurrent standardization process and describe the design and implementation of an Extranet-based network system called standards information cooperative network (SICN). The system was created with a view to fostering faster standards development with functionalities such as a virtual management of networked standards developers, collaboration support tools, a workflow-based electronic signature system, and dynamic links for ready retrieval of standards information stored in a database. We conclude this paper with an introduction to the concept of a virtual standards development organization (VSDO) that supports all the features needed by the relevant standards making bodies to carry out their activities in a dynamic on-line environment.
