  • IEC 60300 series, the international standards on dependability management system are newly developed and introduced rapidly worldwide. In order to meet this situation, it is necessary to apply them to the Korean industries effectively. This requires for us to prepare in advance for the introduction of the certification system of IEC 60300. It includes the establishment of the infrastructure such as documentation of Korean Standards, introduction of test equipments and test manuals, recognition of the certification body and training of specialists etc. This paper addresses the first step for the Introduction of IEC 60300. It includes the necessity of introduction of the system, general requirements and procedures for the certification of the industries, sampling methods design and establishment of the dependability assurance system of the materials.

  • 우리나라는 선진국 진입을 눈앞에 두고 있다. 하지만 세계시장 진입의 장벽과 고객신뢰 및 자원의 한계로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이러한 한계점을 극복하기 위해서는 신인성경영시스템을 기반으로 한 기업 평가가 이루어져야 한다. 즉 제품의 기능과 성능 등의 적합성(Conformity)특성 중심의 기업생존을 위한 기본전략 평가에서 이제는 기업노력 대비 고객만족과 경영성과를 높일 수 있는 수명과 내구성, 안전성 등의 시간 종속성(Dependability) 중심의 평가가 시급하다. 본 논문에서는 국가 품질상에 대한 구조를 분석해보고 국가 경쟁력 분석을 통한 문제점을 도출하여 신인성경영시스템을 기반으로 한 기업 평가 방안의 타당성과 구체적 실행방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 최근 디지털 컴퓨터와 정보처리기술의 발전과 더불어 원자력 발전소의 계측제어시스템과 같은 안전-필수 시스템에서도 디지털 기술을 채택하기 시작했다. 안전-필수 시스템에 사용되는 소프트웨어는 높은 신뢰도(dependability)가 요구된다. 소프트웨어의 신뢰도는 신뢰성(reliability), 안전성, 보안 등 다양한 속성들로 설명될 수 있다. 소프트웨어의 신뢰도 향상을 위한 프로세스는 결함예방프로세스, 결함허용프로세스, 결함제거프로세스 그리고 결함예측프로세스가 있으며 이들 프로세스는 소프트웨어 수명주기 초반부터 수행되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 신뢰도향상을 위한 신뢰도 프로세스 모델과 개발 단계별로 수행되어야 할 신뢰도 태스크를 제시한다.

  • With the development of the internet of things, sensor and device are can be applied to various scenario. Overall improving of the dependability index of internet of things is the ultimate goal. And reliability aims to increase the success rate of internet of things service delivery. Many studies about internet of things system have been made on the system to assess a dependability for providing reliable service to user, but it has difficult to reflect the user context for evaluating the device reliability. Also, most do not consider the availability of content information. In this paper, it proposed dependable device searching system in the internet of things environment. This system evaluates device dependability based on device status and measured data. Through the proposed system, it can be provided reliable context information for user-centric service.

  • Since korea must get 5.2% reduction of green gas emission and insecurity of economic impact is on the increase due to unstable oil market, the demands of energy saving techniques are increasing. In this paper, we investigate necessity of development of enormous energy used cleanroom energy saving techniques furthermore we also investigate the adoption of dependability management system to develop the energy saving cleanroom development process.

  • It is hot issue to get the competitiveness of product through reliability-growth as well as availability and safety in almost high-technology industry including military, chemistry, nuclear, telecommunication, transportation service and so on. In advanced countries, worldwide leading companies have tried to improve and develop high-reliability product as well as reliability management system(IEC60300). We investigate reliability certification systems for product and management system. Additionally, we study the feasibility on the adoption of dependability management system(IEC60300) by empirical survey on companies with product-reliability certification(R-mark) in Korea.

Visualized Assurance Approach for Enterprise Architecture

  • In software engineering, to ensure reliability between systems, describing both system architecture and assurance arguments between system elements is considered necessary. There are proposals for system architecture assurance, but use of these traditional methods often requires development of different diagrams using different editors. Because the visual sense of the traditional methods is inadequate, errors readily occur when manipulating different diagrams. Therefore, it is essential that the assurance of dependability between components and systems is visualized and easy to understand. In this paper, an integrated approach to describe the relationship between system actors and system architecture is proposed, and this approach is clarified using an enterprise architecture modeling language. A case study is carried out and comparison to the traditional approach $d^*$ framework is explained. The comparison results show that the proposed approach is more suitable for ensuring dependability in system architecture.

Study on the Integrated SCM Performance Formation Model through Supplier Development Project and Asset Specificity (공급자개발계획과 자산전용성을 통한 통합적 SCM성과형성모델에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose - This study aims to clarify through which process asset specificity and supplier development project (SDP) affect performance. Cooperation, partnership, the level of information exchange, and the importance of information sharing are considered significant variables as mediators related to the process. Finally, the performance formation model of the supply chain through asset specificity and supplier development project would be suggested as being a result of this study. Research design, data, and methodology - Data collection was as follows: questionnaires were distributed to 250 companies that have business ties with H Company. The empirical study to test our hypothesis was based on statistical analysis (using SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 19.0). The hypothesis of this paper is that the asset specificity and supplier development project variables have positive effects on the following variables: mediators such as cooperation and partnership (reliability and dependence); and the cooperation and partnership variables have a positive effect on the following variables: level of information sharing, the importance of information sharing, and level of information sharing; the importance of information sharing has a positive effect on supply chain performance. We tested our hypothesized model utilizing path analysis with latent variables. Results - First, it was found that asset specificity has significant positive effects on cooperation (H1), reliability (H2), and dependability (H3). Second, it was proved that the level of comprehension on the purpose of SDP has positive effects significantly on cooperation (H4), reliability (H5), and dependability (H6). Third, the hypotheses related to cooperation were all significantly accepted. The relationships of cooperation with the level (H7) and importance (H8) of information sharing were significant. Fourth, the hypotheses related to reliability were all significantly accepted. The relationships of reliability with the level (H9) and importance (H10) of information sharing were significant. In terms of dependability, however, the hypotheses were partially accepted. The effect of dependability was significant on the importance of information sharing (H12), but insignificant on the level of information sharing (H11). Finally, the causal relationships from the level of information sharing to SCM performance (H13) and from the importance of information sharing to SCM performance (H14) were both significantly accepted. Conclusion - First, with rapid changes in the business environment, enterprises should acquire the right information to properly implement SCM. For successful SCM, firms should understand the supplier development project. Second, asset specificity and the level of comprehension on SDP have significant effects both on cooperation and partnership (reliability and dependability). Third, mediators such as cooperation, reliability, and dependability significantly affect the level and importance of information sharing. Fourth, the level and importance of information sharing have significant impacts on SCM performance. This paper makes a meaningful contribution to further the understanding of how SDP affects SCM performance. Finally, successful SCM performance is achieved by information sharing through a collaborative environment and partnership (confidence & dependence) rather than by investing only in setting up an information system.

  • The components of dependability are reliability, availability, maintainability, safety. The dependability thus often designated in terms of RAMS. A guide to the appropriate selection applicable standards on test conditions and statistical analysis is suggested. It includes a general guide to planning, performing and analysing data from reliability tests. The environmental and operational conditions available as IEC standards are referred.

Characterization of fracture network with geometrical properties

  • In order to delineate the flow system of fractured hard rock aquifer, numerical experiments are conducted and the results are analyzed with Mote Carlo simulation. The results show that the percolation threshold and the effective conductivity of a fracture network can be estimated with power law exponent (a) and fracture intensity. But the dependability of the estimated value relies on the percolation threshold, the system scale, and the characterization level.
