How Do We Manage the Information Security Workforce of the Administrative Agencies? (행정기관의 정보보호 담당인력을 어떻게 관리할 것인가?)

  • The career development of information security workforce affiliated in administrative department is very different from workforce affiliated in private companies. Their career development attempts are made not by voluntary motivation but by involuntary job movement by the principle of internal relocation. So they are not directly linked to monetary compensation or advancement. Due to the nature of the organization, their work attitude is very passive and there is little intention to turnover. They do not need professionalism, but they must be retrained according to the law. In this paper, we investigate and analyze the roles and responsibilities of information security workforce of each administrative department. And we do questionnaire survey to find out current roles and responsibilities of them will not affect the demand for retraining. Through these research, we would like to discuss how to manage information security workforce affiliated in administrative departments.

DDoS attacks prevention in cloud computing through Transport Control protocol TCP using Round-Trip-Time RTT

  • One of the most essential foundations upon which big institutions rely in delivering cloud computing and hosting services, as well as other kinds of multiple digital services, is the security of infrastructures for digital and information services throughout the world. Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) assaults are one of the most common types of threats to networks and data centers. Denial of service attacks of all types operates on the premise of flooding the target with a massive volume of requests and data until it reaches a size bigger than the target's energy, at which point it collapses or goes out of service. where it takes advantage of a flaw in the Transport Control Protocol's transmitting and receiving (3-way Handshake) (TCP). The current study's major focus is on an architecture that stops DDoS attacks assaults by producing code for DDoS attacks using a cloud controller and calculating Round-Tripe Time (RTT).

  • If one analyzes recent cyber incidents including personal information infringement cases, it seems like actual attack is targeting Internet service providers but actually they are targeting Internet service users. For many users, all the services were not provided to them as they have signed for in the contract or personal informations, which users have provided to service providers when signing contracts, were disclosed to public without users' consent causing aftereffect. As a result, importance of S-SLA indexes, which is to be included in the SLA to be signed between a user and a service provider, is ever more increasing. Especially, if there is a S-SLA indexes for anti-virus services, service providers have to provide a high quality of service as they have signed in the SLA. However, there wasn't any researches in the S-SLA area domestically and there are only limited SLA indexes related to system or service maintenances at the moment. Therefore, this paper analyses security functions in anti-virus services and proposes S-SLA indexes for different security level.

Chinese Female Consumers' Intention to Use Mobile Payment Services

  • Purpose - This study intended to investigate ways to influence on the Chinese female consumers' use of mobile payment services. For this purpose, this research investigated the relationships among security and compatibility of the mobile payment service, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, psychological benefit, and intention to use mobile payment. Research design, data, and methodology - This research developed a structural equation model in which the usefulness, the ease of use, and the psychological benefit are predictors and the intention to use is a dependent variable. Data were collected from China female in Jiangsu and Shandong province. Results - Empirical results showed that the security and the compatibility had a positive influence on the usefulness and the ease of use. The usefulness and the ease of use influenced on the psychological benefit respectively and the psychological benefit had a positive influence on the intention to use. Conclusions - This research contributed to the mobile payment service literature by showing how Chinese women consumers adopt the mobile payment service based on TAM. Moreover, current study introduced the security and the compatibility as antecedents of the usefulness and the ease of use and revealed the mediating role of psychological benefit. Managerially, theses results suggested retailing companies ways to influence on the Chinese female consumers' use of mobile payment services.

  • When SOAP message in Web Services has sensitive and important data, it is necessary to protect the message from XML rewriting attacks. These attacks create a foundation for typical faults in SOAP message and make it vulnerable to use in Web Service environment. Currently, Web Services middleware offers limited functions to detect these faults and possibly fix them. In this paper, we propose a Security Description Assistance which identifies and fixes typical faults in SOAP messages. Our system adapts simulation-based approach, which allows system to self-optimize its performance in different conditions and thus improve the reliability of Web Services.

  • In these days, cloud environments such as cloud platforms, cloud services like Amazon AWS, IBM Bluemix are used in the Internet of Things for providing efficient services. These cloud platform environments have various security threats according to increasing of use, so the recent research results on cloud security and privacy protection technologies and related regimes and legislations are written in this paper and we suggest prospect of research on cloud platform environment security and privacy preserving.

  • Recently, due to the many features and advantages of cloud computing, cloud service is being introduced to countless industries around the world at an unbelievably rapid pace. With the rapid increase in the introduction of multi-cloud based services, security vulnerabilities are increasing, and the risk of data leakage from cloud computing services are also expected to increase. Therefore, this study will propose an AWS Well-Architected based security architecture configuration method such as AWS standard security architecture, AWS shared security architecture model that can be applied for personal information security including cost effective of cloud services for better security in AWS cloud service. The AWS security architecture proposed in this study are expected to help many businesses and institutions that are hoping to establish a safe and reliable AWS cloud system.

  • According to explosion of smart-devices, demands on N-screen services based on cooperation of multiple screens are rapidly increasing. These N-screen services can provide new user-experience (UX) to users. That is, it can provide technical advances to users. On the other hand, it causes new security problems. In this paper, we analyze conventional web-security attacks, and we propose and analyze new security requirements for migration, combination, and separation of web-contents based on N-screen service scenarios. Also, we develop N-screen cooperation service framework in order to ensure user security.

  • With the ever-increasing frequency of public sector and smalls-cale industries going live on the internet in developing countries, their security of which, while crucial, is often overlooked in most cases. This is especially true in Government services, whilst essential, are poorly monitored if at all. This is due to lack of funds and personnel. Most available software which can help these organizations monitor their services are either expensive or very outdated. Thus, there is a need for any developing country to develop a networking monitoring system. However, developing a network monitoring system is still a challenge and expensive and out sourcing network monitoring system to third party is a security threat. Therefore, in this article we propose a method to anonymize network logs and outsource networking monitoring system to third-party without breach in integrity of their network logs.

  • Recently, cyber attacks against public communications networks are getting more complicated and varied. Moreover, in some cases, one country could make systematic attacks at a national level against another country to steal its confidential information and intellectual property. Therefore, the issue of cyber attacks is now regarded as a new major threat to national security. The conventional way of operating individual information security systems such as IDS and IPS may not be sufficient to cope with those attacks committed by highly-motivated attackers with significant resources. As a result, the monitoring and control of cyber security, which enables attack detection, analysis and response on a real-time basis has become of paramount importance. This paper discusses how to improve efficiency and effectiveness of national cyber security monitoring and control services. It first reviews major threats to the public communications network and how the responses to these threats are made and then it proposes a new approach to improve the national cyber security monitoring and control services.
