  • A number of dinosaur tracksites located at southern coast of the Korean Peninsula have continuously been damaged by sea-waves and weathering. To protect the dinosaur tracksites from the damage permanently and safely, we need to develop conservation programs as well as to collect data documenting the sites. We specifically applied digital photogrammetry to extensively record and document dinosaur tracks in the Namhae Gain-ri tracksite (Natural Monument No. 499) and were able to obtain 3D images data with it. The data of 3D images enable us to produce permanent documentation and preservation of the morphology of dinosaur tracks and tracksites. Moreover the weathering rate on time can be numerically analyzed by periodic measurements of the dinosaur tracksite and comparison of those measurements. The 3D modeling techniques also can be used in various ways including analyzing morphology of tracks, duplicating replicas for museum exhibitions, and posting the results on the Internet homepage.

  • In microarray data analysis, recent efforts have focused on the discovery of gene sets from a pathway or functional categories such as Gene Ontology terms(GO terms) rather than on individual gene function for its direct interpretation of genome-wide expression data. We introduce a meta-analysis method that combines $p$-values for changes of each gene in the group. The method measures the significance of overall treatment-induced change in a gene group. An application of the method to a real data demonstrates that it has benefits over other statistical methods such as Fisher's exact test and permutation methods. The method is implemented in a SAS program and it is available on the author's homepage(http://cafe.daum.net/go.analysis).

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an online community construct, which proposes an inclusive illustration of the structure of online communities, for online community designers. This study reviewed researches from psychology, sociology, management engineering, and practical reports to understand the characteristics and dynamics of online communities. The proposed online community construct visualizes the cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects of online community. As the notion of community originates from geographical groups, and with the assumption that geographical community shares identical characteristics with online community, this study reviewed researches about geographical communities as a starting-point. Then the study went through three main perspectives (1) online community attributes, (2) sense of online community and (3) challenges of online community. Then this study proposed an online community construct that encompasses the reviewed frameworks. The online community can be seen as a congregation of members from two sources. One is from the 'Shared Goal' that meets the personal needs. Given the shared goal, members gather into the community without personal relationship and have more chances to feel the sense of belonging to their needs fulfillment or benefit. This befitting tendency leads to strengthening of membership. Public online forums fall under this classification. The other source is from the emotional connections that are already initiated by personal and casual contacts in the real world. The network of emotional connection can evolve into an online congregation of people under faint boundaries. Although there is no (or weak) shared goal, members are strongly bound to other members. Personal homepage or web log (blog) can be classified as an example of relationship-oriented community.

We will define basic data for improving the management methods for reducing chemical substances. Methods: A survey of hazardous pollutant emissions for 2008-2017 was conducted through the pollutant Release and Transfer Register homepage. Nine kinds of designated reduction chemical substances (Benzene, Vinyl chloride, Trichloro ethylene, 1,3-butadiene, Dichloro methane, Tetrachloro ethylene, N,N-dimethylformamide, Acrylo nitrile, and Chloroform) provided the study subjects. The emission of hazardous chemicals and health effects used the National Health Statistics and Integrated Chemicals Information System (ICIS) as a reference. Results: Hazardous pollutant emissions increased by 1.2 times over the past decade, and nine types of reduction chemical substances increased by 1.6 times. By region, the emissions of reduction chemical substances over the last 10 years were in the order of Chungbuk, Gyeonggi, and Gyeongbuk. Emissions of Dichloro methane was the highest in Chungbuk and Gyeongbuk. N,N-dimethylformamide was the highest in Gyeonggi. Carcinogen pollutant emissions showed a tendency to increase continuously. In addition, group 1 carcinogen emissions showed a tendency to decrease. Conclusion: In the last decade, the amount of hazardous chemical emissions has been continuously increasing. Hazardous chemical emissions require facility improvement for continuous emissions reduction. More research on reduction of emissions is needed.

  • With the rapid development of deep neural network theory and application research, the effect of face detection has been improved. However, due to the complexity of deep neural network calculation and the high complexity of the detection environment, how to detect face quickly and accurately becomes the main problem. This paper is based on the relatively simple model of the MTCNN model, using FDDB (Face Detection Dataset and Benchmark Homepage), LFW (Field Label Face) and FaceScrub public datasets as training samples. At the same time of sorting out and introducing MTCNN(Multi-Task Cascaded Convolutional Neural Network) model, it explores how to improve training speed and Increase performance at the same time. In this paper, the dynamic image pyramid technology is used to replace the traditional image pyramid technology to segment samples, and OHEM (the online hard example mine) function in MTCNN model is deleted in training, so as to improve the training speed.
