PET와 이온교환 Zeolite 나노 복합 방적사로 제조한 니트의 항균성 (Antimicrobial Properties of Knit made with PET and Ion Exchange Zeolite Nanocomposite Spun Yarn)

  • In this study, PET containing 3% silver ion-exchange zeolite was mixed with cotton in a ratio of 6:4 to prepare a spun yarn to evaluate the tensile strength, absorption speed, absorption rate, antibacterial property, and the efficiency of deodorization. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. First, it can be confirmed that silver ion exchange zeolite is evenly distributed inside and on the surface of the antimicrobial PET-SF through SEM. It was found that the tensile strength between the CVC sample mixed with silver ion zeolite PET and cotton and the normal cotton 100% sample was slightly lower in the CVC sample. Although the absorption speed and water absorption rate were measured to find out the moisture characteristics, it was confirmed that there was no significant difference. The contact angle was slightly larger in the antimicrobial CVC sample, but the time it took for the moisture to completely penetrate into the knit fabric was 0.85 seconds. In addition, it was found that out of the total mixing ratio, 40% of antibacterial PET was spun with regular cotton to produce yarn, which had an excellent bacteria reduction rate of 99.9% and a deodorization efficiency of 85%.

재배 고사리 부산물을 활용한 면직물의 염색 (Dyeing of Cotton Fabrics using Residual Parts of Cultivated Pteridium aquilinum)

  • This study examined the dyeability, color fastness and functionality of cotton fabrics dyed with residual parts of cultivated Pteridium aquilinum. UV-Vis absorption spectrum, TLC and FT-IR spectra analysis showed that colorants of Pteridium aquilinum are a mixture of pyrogallol tannin and catechol tannin. Optimum dyeing conditions was confirmed colorant concentration of 500% at $100^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes. Color fastness followed to washing, rubbing, perspiration and light as 4-5, 5, 4-5(acidic), 3-4(alkaline) and 2, respectively. Deodorization rates of ammonia($NH_3$) and acetic acid ($CH_3COOH$) were analyzed 88.8% and 78.0%. UV protection rate was 94.2% of UV-A and 96.8% of UV-B. UV protection factor(UPF) was 27. Therefore residual parts of cultivated Pteridium aquilinum could be used for a new functional colorant.

티타니아 솔로 코팅된 폴리프로필렌 필터의 특성 (Characteristic Polypropylene Filter Coated by Titania Sol)

  • 본 연구에서는 티타니아 솔로 폴리프로필렌 필터를 코팅하여, 이 필터의 탈취 효율 및 살균특성을 그람음성균 Escherichia coli(ATCC 25922)와 그람양성균 Staphylococcus aureus(ATCC 6538)를 이용하여 연구하였다. 티타니아 솔로 코팅된 폴리프로필렌 필터의 경우. 실내 공기 오염의 원인이 되는 암모니아, 트리메틸아민 및 아세트산의 탈취율은 각각 65%, 90% 및 15%이었다. 또한 그람음성균 Escherichia coli(ATCC 25922)와 그람양성균 Staphylococcus aureus(ATCC 6538)에 대한 살균율은 24시간 후 99.9%이었다.

대나무숯 액상코팅제의 제조 및 특성 (Formulation of Liquid Coating Agent using Bamboo Charcoal and its Characteristics)

  • 본 연구는 포름알데히드와 같은 유해화학물질을 저감하고, 인체에 무해한 친환경 건축마감재를 개발하기 위하여 대나무숯분말, 편백추출수 및 바인더를 원료로 이용하여 실내 건축마감재용 액상코팅제를 제조하였다. 편백추출수의 함유량에 따른 액상코팅제의 유해화학물질에 대한 탈취율, 원적외선방사율, 음이온방출량, 항균성 및 실제 소요량을 조사하였다. 액상코팅제의 포름알데히드 탈취율은 60.0~98.6%, 암모니아 탈취율은 76.7~86.2%였다. 편백추출수의 혼합량이 증가함에 따라 탈취율도 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 액상코팅제의 원적외선방사율은 91.7%, 음이온 방출량은 77개/cc 였으며, 세균감소율은 99.4%로 항균력이 우수하였으나, 편백추출수의 혼합량 증가에 따른 이들 값에는 차이가 인정되지 않았다. 액상코팅제의 소요량은 스프레이건을 사용할 경우 $0.66kg/m^2$, 붓칠의 경우 $0.94kg/m^2$로 스프레이건을 이용할 경우가 더 효율적이었다.

폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트 섬유의 화학개질 및 기능화 (Chemical Modification and Functionalisation of Poly(ethylene terephthalate) Fiber)

  • 단파장 자외선을 이용하여 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트(PET) 섬유 표면의 화학적 성질을 개질 하였다. 자외선 조사에 의하여 PET 섬유의 화학결합이 절단되어 섬유표면에 COOH기가 생성되고 자외선 조사시간에 비례하여 COOH기가 증가함을 FT-IR과 XPS 분석에 의하여 확인하였으며 XPS측정을 통하여 PET 섬유 표면에 생성된 COOH기가 12개월후에도 변화가 없음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 자외선 조사 PET 섬유에 기능성을 부여하기 위하여 사용한 친수성의 양이온성 천연화합물이, 자외선 조사 PET 섬유에 용이하게 흡착되는 현상으로부터 자외선 조사에 의하여 PET 섬유표면에 음이온성을 나타내는 COOH기가 존재함을 흡착실험을 통하여 확인하였다. 항균성 및 소취성을 측정한 결과 자외선 조사시간이 30분 이상인 경우에 99% 이상의 항균성과 75% 이상의 소취성을 나타내는 기능성 PET 섬유의 제조가 가능하였다.

곰보배추 추출물로 염색한 면직물의 자외선 차단율, 소취성 및 항균성 (Study of UV Protection, Deodorization and Antimicrobial Properties of Cotton Fabrics Dyed with the Liquids Extracted from Salvia Plebia R. Br.)

  • This study examined the stainability and functionality of cotton dyed with the extract of Salvia Plebia R. Br. as a research preceding the development of health functional materials and fashion products with a healing motif. The CIELAB measurements of the cotton fabric dyed with the extract of Salvia Plebia R. Br. showed 73.32 for $L^*$, 1.7 for $a^*$, and 37.78 for $b^*$, while the Munsell measurements exhibited 2.63Y in color, 7.18 of brightness, and 5.49 of chroma. The degree of staining resulting from color fastness to laundering, and that resulting from color fastness to perspiration (acid and alkaline), as well as the level of color fastness to crocking (wet and dry) all stayed between relatively higher levels of 4 and 5. The fabric dyed also exhibited SPF 50+, an outstanding sun blocking performance. The deodorization rate was also excellent, rising from 97% to over 99% when the time elapsed increased from 30 minutes to 120 minutes. The fabric dyed also showed a 99.6% antimicrobial activity against staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, and a 71.4% antimicrobial activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 4352. The aforementioned findings indicate that fabrics dyed with the extract of Salvia Plebia R. Br. contain the potential to be developed for use as health-related materials and fashion products that promote healing.

사방오리나무가지 추출액을 이용한 견직물의 천연염색 (Natural Dyeing of Silk Fabrics with the Extract of Alnus firma Tree Branches)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the optimal dyeing conditions and human-friendly properties of the extract from the branches of Alnus firma tree which is widely used for forestation and to provide basic information for quantification and commercialization of natural dyeing by discovering such as dye material. The optimal dyeing conditions, as a result, were shown at 100% of dye concentration, $90^{\circ}C$ of dyeing temperature and 40 minutes of dyeing time. In terms of dye uptake depending on the mordanting methods, it showed the best result in order of Fe, Sn, Cu and Al at pre-mordanting while found strong in order of Fe, Cu, Al and Sn at post-mordanting. Color fastness to washing and dry cleaning was found strong at grade 4-5 and fastness to light was rated at 2. The grade of change in color to rubbing and perspiration was good at 4-5. In aspects of functional properties, it showed excellent results of 98% deodorization rate at 120 minutes of dyeing time, 96.1% UV protection rate and 99.9% bacterial reduction against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneuminiae. It is considered, therefore, the extract from Alnus firma tree is of great value as an eco-friendly natural dyestuff.

Dyeing Fastness and Functional Properties of Cotton Dyed with Astringent Persimmon Juice

  • I reviewed about dyeing fastness and functional properties of the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron mordant dyed cotton with astringent persimmon juice. In the UV-VIS spectrum of astringent persimmon juice, the maximum absorption wavelength of the juice was 272.0 nm, which was a characteristic peak of tannin. In dyeing fastness, light fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton was a little low at grade 2~3. But by the iron mordant treatment, the light fastness was good at grade 4. Dry cleaning fastness to discoloration and contamination was excellent at grade 4~5 for both the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron-mordant dyed cotton. Their rub fastness were grade 3 and grade 2~3 respectively, in the dry condition, and grade 2~3 and grade 3 respectively, in the wet condition. In the perspiration fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton, the discoloration from acidity and alkalinity was grade 3~4 and grade 3, respectively, and contamination from acidity and alkalinity was relatively good at grade 4. Meanwhile, in the perspiration fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton, discoloration from acidity and alkalinity was fair, both recording grade 3~4, and contamination from acidity and alkalinity was very good, both recording grade 4~5. In the ultraviolet protection effect of the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron-mordant dyed cotton, the ultraviolet protection factor was both 50+, both of which showed an excellent ultraviolet blocking effect. And the protection rate of UV-A appeared 98.4% and 99.1%, respectively, and the protection rate of UV-B showed 98.7% and 99.2, respectively. In addition, both exhibited an excellent deodorization rate over 99.9% or more, irrespective of the passage of time. Also, both showed an excellent antimicrobial activity over 99.9% or more against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Montmorillonites, 왕겨 및 농축활성슬러지를 충진한 토양상에서의 H2S, CH3SH의 제거 (Deodorization of H2S, CH3SH in Soil Filter Reactors Packed with Montmorillonites, Rice Hulls and Thickening-activated Sludge)

  • 본 연구에서는 황토(montmorillonites)를 주성분으로 하는 토양탈취상 반응기에서 황화수소($H_2S$) 및 메틸메르캅탄 ($CH_3SH$) 의 황화합물 악취가스에 대한 황토의 물리화학적인 제거실험과 황토와 왕겨, 농축슬러지를 혼합 충진한 경우의 생물학적 제거특성 실험을 수행한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. Batch test를 통하여 황토를 건조 및 습윤상태의 조건에서 황화합물의 제거율을 비교한 결과, 제거율비(wet/dry) 는 $H_2S$가 1.2, $CH_3SH$가 1.9로 나타나 토양입자의 단순 흡착보다는 수분을 함유하고 있는 경우에 제거율이 높아진다는 것을 확인하였다. SV와 유입부하를 상승시킬 경우 농축슬러지를 식종한 경우(Reactor-4) 에는 부하변동에 관계없이 평균 98% 이상의 안정되고 높은 제거율을 보였으나 그렇지 않은 경우 (Reactor-3)에는 제거율이 크게 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 정압변화의 경우 SV의 증가에 따라 정압도 약간씩 상승하였고 Reactor-4에서는 Reactor-3보다 다소 높은 편이었으나 비교적 안정적인 것으로 나타났다. pH와 $SO_4{^{2-}}$농도의 변화를 보면, SV $150h^{-1}$과 SV $200h^{-1}$의 조건에서 Reactor-4는 $SO_4{^{2-}}$가 1.138mg/L까지 증가했으나 pH는 5.8정도에서 안정을 유지하면서 98%이상의 높은 제거율을 보여 Reactor-3보다 훨씬 좋은 결과를 나타내었다. 위의 결과로부터 황화합물 악취가스를 황토 토양상에서 처리할 경우 pH를 안정시킬 수 있고 또한 혼합균이 다량 포함되어 있는 농축활성슬러지를 식종함으로써 높은 탈취효율을 얻을 수 있다는 것을 알았으며, LV를 8.3mm/sec로 상승시킨 구간에서 정압의 감소와 함께 제거율이 크게 감소하는 것으로 나타나 LV를 8mm/sec 이하로 운전한다든지 수분함량의 조절 및 다른 탈취재료들을 혼합하는 등의 개선방안을 강구한다면 국내에 기 설치된 토양탈취상이나 기타 쓰레기 매립장 등 다양한 악취 발생시설에 적용이 가능할 것으로 생각한다.

소목 추출물의 구조분석 (A Study on the Component Analysis of Sappan Wood Extracts)

  • Colorants were extracted from the heartwood of sappan lin. with MeOH under reflux, and the concentrate or the powder of dye was prepared by low pressure concentration method using suitable organic solvent. Various components were isolated from sappan wood, and the chemical structure and mechanism of compound having the excellent antibacterial and deodorization properties were analyzed. The results obtained are as follows ; The seventeen components of sappan wood were seperated by HPLC chromatography, and the five components among them were existed more than 6% and the other components were existed lower than 0.6%. The resolving powers of the non-polar solvent and polar solvent systems were evaluated by their ability to resolve the samples. It showed that chloroform-methanol-water(800:150:10) system has the best resolving power. Although the seperation rate is very slow, polyamide C-100 column chromatography gives a clear seperation of sappan wood. On the basis of the spectrometric data such as IR, UV, $GC-Mass,\;^1H-NMR,\;^{13}C-NMR\;and\;^1H-^{ 13}C-NMR$, the chemical structure of compound haying the excellent antibacterial and deodorization properties was established as brazilin containing the functional groups such as two quaternary carbon, one benzyl carbon, methylene contiguous to oxygen and methylene caused by oxygen atom.
