일부 특수학교 교사의 구강보건교육 유무에 따른 구강건강관리 조사 (Survey on the Oral Health Care according to the Oral Health Education Experience of the Special School Teachers)

  • Objectives: This study aims to find status of the oral health care, the oral health education program utilization and the oral health guidance according to the experience status of oral health education of special school teachers. Methods: The study subjects were 133 teachers at special schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungbuk and Jeonbuk regions. Results: 32.8% of the male and 67.2% of the female teachers have the oral health education experience. Barriers for the dental treatment to teachers with the education experience show in the order as 'disabled children's noncooperation' 49.2%, 'economic reasons' 37.7% and 'medical institution's rejection' 6.6% and, to teachers without the education experience, 'disabled children's noncooperation' 45.8%, 'economic reasons' 19.4% and 'not emergency situation' 13.9%(p<0.01). Regarding the necessity of arranged institution to manage the oral health, 91.8% of teachers with the oral health education answer as 'necessary'(p<0.05). Regarding the barriers on the performance of oral health program 27.9%, the majority of teachers with the education experience answer as 'insufficient administrative & financial support' and 36.1%, the majority of teachers without the education experience answer as 'insufficient understanding and expertise on the oral health education'. 86.9% of the teachers with the education experience and 62.5% of the teachers without the education experience are found to 'guide students on the oral health'(p<0.01). Conclusions: It was considered that various oral health education programs positively influential to the oral health care and education for disabled children should be developed according to the status of oral health education experience of special school teachers.

예비치과위생사의 로봇활용에 대한 태도 (A study on the attitude toward robot utilization in dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting robot utilization in the education of pre-dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 238 dental hygiene students studying in the Daejeon, Chungcheong, and Jeolla provinces during the period March 1-31, 2017. Results: Future oral health education media had high selection of 'movies,' 'video,' '3D printer,' 'robot,' and 'drone' In general education and oral health education, robots were appropriate as educators, assistant teachers, and media. This group had high levels of interest, experience, attitude, and learning scope of robots. Robot utilization education showed a significant positive correlation with the 'interest,' 'experience,' 'attitude,' and 'learning' subfactors (p<0.01). Factors influencing robot utilization education were the relationships among actual experience of robot, learning of robot production, social influence of robot, emotional exchange with robot, and the predictive power was 25.5% (p<0.05). Conclusions: Oral health education curricula using robots should be developed considering the emotional exchange and social influence between educator and learner.

일부지역 여대생들의 흡연경험과 구강건강인식도와의 관련성 (A Survey on Related of College Women's Smoking experience in a Certain Area and their Awareness of Oral Health)

  • This study is designed to take a look at college women's understanding of the actual condition of their smoking and the harmfulness of their smoking, to make an analysis of smoking factors affecting oral health and to present basic materials for the development of oral health education programs. Self-administered questionnaires were given to the subjects from May 22 through June 2, 2003. The results were as follows. 1. 71.7 percent of the subjects said that they had no experience. 16.7 percent of them said that they had had experience. 11.6 percent of them said that they are now smoking. The oftener they don't live with their parents, the more monthly money they had, the more smoking experience they had(p<0.001). 2. 37.4 percent of the subjects said that they brush their teeth three times a day. And 52.2 percent of them said that they brush their teeth after smoking. 3. The rate of using dental floss and interdental brushes accounts for 46.5%, and the ratio of having tartar scaled from their teeth accounts for 45.5%. There was no significant difference in accordance with smoking or nonsmoking. 4. The subjects with no smoking experience(76.0%) thought that they had better teeth condition than their counterparts(64.3%). But there was no significant difference. 5. 56.5 percent of the subjects responded that their dental condition was related to their smoking, but 43.5 percent of them said that it was not.

고등학생의 치과방문경험과 구강증상 연관성 (Correlation between High School Students' Experience of Visiting the Dental Clinic and Oral Symptoms)

  • 2012년도에 실시된 제 8차 청소년 온라인 건강행태 조사자료에서 고등학교 3학년 학생 10,701명을 대상으로 치과 방문 경험과 구강증상의 연관성 분석을 하였다. 학업성적이 낮을수록 치아 깨짐을 더 경험하는 것을 알 수 있었고, 치아가 아픈 증상은 경제상태가 낮아질수록 더 경험하는 경향을 보였다. 치과방문의 주된 이유는 먹을 때 아픔과 쑤시고 욱신거림이었다. 구강증상의 점수와 성별, 경제상태, 치과방문 경험횟수는 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 고등학생들의 구강상태를 지속적으로 향상시키기 위해서는 학교 구강보건실 설치가 필요하며 예방중심의 학교구강보건교육을 활성화하여 다양한 학교 구강보건교육 프로그램 개발과 함께 고등학생의 계속구강건강관리제도를 체계화해야 한다.

일부지역 성인의 계속구강건강관리 경험에 영향을 미치는 융합적 요인 (The Convergence Factors Affecting on Incremental Oral Health Care Experience in Some Local Adults)

  • 본 연구는 일부지역사회에서 성인을 대상으로 구강건강관리행태와 계속구강건강관리 경험정도를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구결과 연령이 증가할수록 계속구강건강관리 경험이 유의하게 높게 나타났으며, 연령이 증가함에 따라 구강건강관리에 대한 관심이 더욱 높아짐을 확인할 수 있다. 보조구강위생용품을 사용하는 군에 계속구강건강관리 경험이 유의성 있게 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 정기적 치과를 방문하는 사람은 계속구강건강관리 경험이 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 또한 예방치과서비스를 경험한 군이 계속구강건강 관리에 관련성이 높게 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과를 토대로 계속구강건강관리에 대한 경험과 영향을 분석함으로써 임상 치위생분야에서 계속구강건강관리 프로그램을 구성할 때 필요한 기초자료로서 활용될 수 있을 것이라 보인다.

임상 치과위생사의 치과의료 서비스 과정에서 영어 의사소통 능력 관련 요인 (Factors related to English communication skills in the dental health service process of clinical dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: This study analyzes factors related to English communication skills in the dental health services of clinical dental hygienists who provide dental medical services to foreigners. Methods: Surveys were conducted to measure students' English communication skills. Participants comprised 195 clinical dental hygienists working at dental English study cafes or who provided dental medical services to foreigners. After analyzing the differences in English communication skills, hierarchical multiple regression analysis was performed on the factors related to English communication skills. Results: English communication skill of dental hygienists was 1.96 points out of 5 points. The factors related to the English communication skill of the clinical dental hygienists were foreign patient care, language training experience, overseas living experience, and certified English proficiency. The adjusted explanatory power of this model was 53.0%. Conclusions: Dental hygienists in charge of foreign patients have experience in language training and overseas residence, have a language qualification certificate, and have higher English communication skills. It is necessary to develop English language learning programs based on metaverse to develop the English communication skills of dental hygienists who provide dental health services to foreign patients and to operate a creative educational environment to increase interest in learning English.

진료실 안전사고에 의한 치과위생사의 외상 경험 실태 및 예방 실천에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Status of Injuries Experience and Prevention in Dental Office)

  • 이번 연구는 진료실 내 안전사고에 의한 외상 경험 실태와 예방 실천에 대해 파악하는 연구이다. 치과 병 의원에서 종사하고 있는 치과위생사 366명을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였다. 최근 6개월 동안 외상 경험은 연구대상자 366명 중 307명(83.9%)이 경험한 적이 있다고 응답하였고 유형으로는 전체응답자 366명 중 찔림이 294회(80.3%)로 가장 경험이 많았고 절상, 찰과상, 화상 순이었다. 외상 원인으로는 찔림의 원인이 된 기자재 중 explorer가 93명(25.4%)으로 가장 많았으며 needle이 66명(18.0%)로 그 다음으로 나타났다. 절상(베임)은 blade가 36명(9.8%), 화상 원인은 sterilizer로 26명(7.1%), 찰과상 원인은 movable cart 47명(12.8%)으로 가장 많았다. 찔림 경험을 한 후 응급처치로 알코올 솜으로 닦는 경우가 40.8%으로 가장 많았고, 응급실 방문은 없는 것으로 나타났다. 절상(베임)을 경험 한 후 응급처치로 베타딘으로 소독하는 경우가 42.8%으로 가장 많았고, 화상을 경험 후 응급처치는 찬물로 씻는 경우가 73.0%으로 절반이 넘게 나타났다. 일반적 특성에 따른 외상 경험의 차이를 조사한 결과 연령, 근무경력(p<0.001), 최종학력(p=0.006), 직위, 업무영역(p=0.001)에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있다고 나타났다. 일반적 특성에 따른 안전사고 예방 실천도의 차이를 조사한 결과 외상 경험 여부(p=0.030), 연령(p=0.015)과 치과유형(p=0.003)이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 치과 외상 경험 실태와 안전사고 예방 실천에 관련된 연구를 통하여 진료실 내 안전사고 예방이 체계적인 과정으로 확립되어야 하고 정기적인 교육을 통하여 안전에 대한 중요성을 부여하여야 한다.

  • The author had studied epidemiologically the dental caries experience rate in the 200 students of nursing school of national medical center. The obtained results were as follows; 1. The dental caries experience rate in the students of nursing school of N.M.C. was 78.5%. 2. The D.M.F. teeth index in the students of nursing school of N.M.C was 4.5. 3. The filled teeth rate of students of nursing school of N.M.C. was lower than decayed teeth rate and missed teeth rate.

치과 치료 경험이 아동의 치과의사와 치과 치료에 대한 태도에 끼치는 영향에 관한 조사 연구 (EFFECT OF DENTAL EXPERIENCE ON ATTITUDE OF CHILDREN TOWARD THE DENTIST AND DENTAL TREATMENT)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of dental experience on the attitude of children toward the dentist and the dental treatment. The subjects of the study were 1,090 children from second grade to forth grade of three elementary schools of the Iksan city. The children were investigated by the questionnaire which consisted of seven items about the attitude toward the dentist, the attitude toward the dental treatment, the dental reatment experience, the number of times of dental treatment, the last time of the dental visit, pain of dental treatment, and fear of dental treatment. There were significant differences among the grades in the attitude toward the dental treatment and in the attitude toward the dentist (P<0.01). Second grade children had the most negative attitudes. But, there were no differences between boys and girls. Girls felt more pain and fear than boys (P<0.01). There were significant relationships between the pain and the attitude toward the dentist, between the pain and the attitude toward the dental treatment, between the fear and the attitude toward the dentist, and between the fear and the attitude toward the dental treatment (P<0.01, all). The number of dental visit had significant relationship with the attitude toward the dental treatment (P<0.05). There were significant relationships between the pain and the fear and between the attitude toward the dentist and the attitude toward the dental treatment.

치위생의사소통 교육에서의 역할극 수업에 대한 인식과 경험에 대한 연구 (Perception and experience of dental communication education based on the role played by some dental hygiene students)

  • Background: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of role-play in dental hygiene education by analyzing learners' perceptions and experiences of role-play classes. Methods: Role-play was used as a teaching method to run dental medical communication and practice classes for 31 3rd graders in the Department of Dental Hygiene to investigate the learner's perception of role-play classes, effectiveness of the classes, and learner's perception of the experience. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the differences in learners' perceptions of the role-play classes according to the main characteristics related to dental health communication education. Results: The correlation coefficient between awareness of dental communication education (4.74 ± 0.35) and awareness of role-play classes (4.44 ± 0.48) was an Rs of 0.634, showing a significant positive correlation (p<0.001). Conclusion: Learners recognized that dental hygiene communication competency is important for dental hygienists. In addition, a strategic teaching design is necessary to reduce the learner's burden on role-play considering the learner's experience, which is perceived as a disadvantage of role-play
