There has been a growing interest in implant among dentists and patients, recently. Maintenance of the implant and prothesis is the key factor for a long tern1 success. This article describes several methods for maintenance care which can be achieved with the cooperation of the patient and the dental staff members. By following this maintenance program I hope that our patient can enjoy their implants much more.

The use of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures described in the early 1980s caused an conservative way to preserve tooth structure in the restorative dental community. The treatment of patients with requires long term analysis of clinical application and basic research. Failure rates of these prosthesis ranged from 3% to 55%. These varieties were orginated by different techniques, materials, tooth preparation methods and diverse clinical situations. This article review was focused on the standard long term results and in vitro studies on bond strength between metal and teeth. From this, many useful clinical guidelines to RBFPD could be adopted to clinical dentistry. For successful results, careful case selection and good clinical skills are needed. And appropriate techniques for each situations should be adopted. Also, RBFPD using new materials like all-ceramics, FRC/Ceromer was introduced.

아름다움이라는 것은 완전히 객관적이기도 하지만 극히 주관적인 표현의 결과일 수 있다. 심미치의학은 얼굴에서 표현되는 이러한 주관적인 면과 객관적인 면을 조화시킬 수 있는 학문이기에 21세기에도 여전히 치과 치료에 있어서 중요한 화두 중의 하나임에 틀림이 없다. 과거 심미적인 치료로 행하였던 많은 치료 술식들(open faced crown, resin faced crown,3/4 crown,7/8crown등)이 치과 치료 술식의 발달과 함께 재료와 치아 보철물 제작술 등의 발달로 인해 점차 사라지거나 변화하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 지금 소개하는 증례들은 현재 치과계에서 심미적인 치료 술식으로 인정하고 있기에 이러한 치료 술식에 대한 이해가 필요할 것이다. 우리 임상가들의 최종목표는 환자들에게 자연스러운 얼굴과 웃음을 회복시켜주는 것이다. 각 증례에 대한 한계에 대해 미리 알 수 있는 방법을 모색해 보고, 예측 가능한 치료를 시행하기위한 과정들을 살펴보고자 한다.

Autotransplantation of tooth has recently become a combined method with orthodontic therapy. With the use of autotransplantation, it has become possible for orthodontists to solve complicated problems in the dental arches. Autotransplanted teeth showed the same development as their contralaterals with respect to both eruption and root growth. This indicates that autotransplantation and orthodontic treatment is a method that should be considered in case of impacted, missing, or malformed teeth. In this report two cases are presented to demonstrate that orthodontic treatment with autotransplantation can contribute to more satisfactory solution to the problem for impacted teeth.

Due to high esthetic demands from patients, we are driven to fabricate natural-looking(form and color) restorations. In the past decade, the glass-ceramic in dentistry has been used as a material with variable crystals that affects the appearance, characteristics, and mechanical properties of metal-free fixed restoration. The conventional IPS Empress glass-ceramic is a heat-pressed, leucite reinforced material using the "lost wax" principle. This glass-ceramic has been successfully used for esthetic restorations such as all-ceramic crowns, inlays/onlays, and veneers for about 15 years. This article presents that the form and surface texture of clinical crown are duplicated by IPS-Empress system using "lost-wax technique".

For predictable posterior implants, appropriate soft tissue thickness, called the biologic width, is required around the implant for crestal bone stability. In order to do so, it seems that there are many cases where the implant should be positioned deeper than the depth that we previously thought was appropriate or inevitable limit. I would like to share my clinical experience about the vertical position of the posterior implant with the case reports and the related surgical technique.

Guided implant surgery is useful in anterior implant case in terms of fixture installation and temporary crown delivery. For the aesthetic prosthetics in anterior implant, the position of the implant fixture is crucial. Guided surgery is the top-down procedure and we designed prosthetics first and then determine the position of the fixture. Guided surgery can reduce the stress of dentist with difficult anterior implant case.

If the dentist and the patient work together to achieve long-term maintenance, they will create a thicker trust relationship.

Reports have it that horizontal and vertical loss of the ridge happens during 6 months after tooth extraction. So valuable ridge preservation techniques are often necessary in the maxillary anterior areas. Maintaining and/or increasing blood supply and stability is essential to graft survival. The objective of this study was to determine the effect on extraction socket seal of pedicle subepithelial connective tissue graft with tunneling on maxillary esthetic zone through healing state for 8 weeks.

The treatment of fractured teeth in the upper anterior area has various causes and clinical symptoms at different ages. Most patients come to the clinic in emergency state, so if you're treating them with accurate diagnosis criteria, You'll get aesthetic and functionally satisfying results. I'm going to take a look at the treatment of the upper anterior tooth, which is more sensitive than other parts, with the case I've treated before. The case I treated cannot be the answer, but I hope it will be of any help if youencounter similar symptoms in your clinical trial.
