Results : The results state that 73.3% of students believe brushing teeth is very important and 26.7% of the students method of tooth brushing is up and down. for correct teeth brushing, they think choosing a brush is important(70.7%) also their brush shapes were uneven form(44.3%) and flat form(43.5%). 31.4% of students are using an oral hygiene device and 31.4% of students had received oral health education. 42.7% of female students get information about oral health from their dental clinics. 24.8% of male students receive information on oral health from parents and relatives. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to provide some information on down-to-earth oral health policy to improve the systemic health involving oral health and the quality of life in Korean adults. Methods : The third-year data of the 4th National Health and Nutrition Survey in 2009 were analyzed, and $x^2$(Chi-square) test was carried out to see whether there would be any gaps in subjective oral health status according to demographic characteristics, systemic health state, frequency of eating between meals and oral health behavior. In terms of the DMFT index, one-way ANOVA was utilized, and then Scheffe post-hoc analysis was conducted. Besides, multiple regression analysis was made to grasp the relationship of oral health behavior to subjective oral health state and the DMFT index. Results : The demographic characteristics, systemic health status and oral health behavior had a significant relationship to both of subjective oral health status and the DMFT index. As a result of analyzing the relationship of oral health behavior to subjective oral health state and the DMFT index, the subfactors of oral health behavior exerted a significant independent influence on subjective oral health status and the DMFT index. Conclusions : The findings of the study suggest that in order to promote the oral health of adults, preventive measures should be taken, and systematic oral health education should be provided. As there is an increase in the elderly population in Korea, the successful implementation of senior oral health plans and the development of oral health programs geared toward adults are both required.

Chi-Square analysis and Pearson's correlation coefficient was put into survey results, in which a degree of depression was dependent variable and others were independent variable. Results : 1. The distribution for depression degree has shown the rate as 80.2% in normal range group and 19.8% in depression group. 2. As for depression, long working hours(p=0.042), poor sense satisfaction in work(p=0.000), not fit to the job(p=0.003), low personal relation with peer works or supervisors(p=0.039), without alcohol drinking(p=0.048), poor subjective condition of health(p=0.000) than their respective counterparts. 3. This study was performed to evaluate the importance of parents, knowledge, cognition and behaviour about dental health care on the development of dental caries in preschoolers. Subjects were comprised of 170 preschoolers collected from three preschoolers placed in Pusan and Kimhae area and study period were 6 months from January, 2000. Examination on the preschoolers' dental health and questionnarie survey on parents' knowledge, cognition and behaviour about dental health care were conducted. Collected data were analyzed by chi-square test and t-test using SAS program. Dental caries was so prevalent as the rate of 73.5%. And, the rate was different by the area(p=0.001), and increased with preschooler's age(P=0.004). The parents gain the knowledge about dental health care mainly from dentist or dental hygienist(32.9%), newspaper, magazine booklets(26.5%), TV and VTR tape(20.0%), etc, but rarely from school health education(4.7%). Caries prevalence was significantly lower in case of regular brushing than that of insufficient brushing(p=0.002) and in case of consistently informing brushing time to their children(p=0.014). This results showed that the dental health care for preschoolers is insufficient and the most important factor for caries prevention is regular brushing. And it seemed that the parent's concern and knowledge play an important role for the prevention of preschooler's dental caries. Dental health education would be focused on the parents, especially for the practice of preventive behavior by preschoolers themselves.
