관교의치(冠橋義齒) 납착시 Preheating 방법에 따른 치경부(齒經部) 변록의 적합도(適合度)에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Study of Cervical Margin Distortion in Preheating Method during Soldering)

  • The auther performed this experimental study on cervical margin distortion in preheating method during soldering. 1. In soldering methods, the method using the furnace has less distortion than the method using open-flame and longer the bridge spon, the larger the distortions. 2. Table Ⅰ Showed that buccal margin, lingual margin, mesial margin and distal margin had respectively 0.01mm, 0.02mm, 0.03mm, 0.03mm closer adaptation in 3 unit bridge than in 5 unit bridges. 3. Table II showed that buccal margin, lingual margin, mesial margin and distal margin had respectively 0.06mm, 0.07mm, 0.11mm, 0.05mm closer adaptation in 3 unit bridge than in 5 unit bridges.

Hard tissue formation after direct pulp capping with osteostatin and MTA in vivo

  • Objectives: In recent in vitro study, it was reported that osteostatin (OST) has an odontogenic effect and synergistic effect with mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) in human dental pulp cells. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate whether OST has a synergistic effect with MTA on hard tissue formation in vivo. Materials and Methods: Thirty-two maxillary molars of Spraque-Dawley rats were used in this study. An occlusal cavity was prepared and the exposed pulps were randomly divided into 3 groups: group 1 (control; ProRoot MTA), group 2 (OST 100 μM + ProRoot MTA), group 3 (OST 10 mM + ProRoot MTA). Exposed pulps were capped with each material and cavities were restored with resin modified glass ionomer. The animals were sacrificed after 4 weeks. All harvested teeth were scanned with micro-computed tomography (CT). The samples were prepared and hard tissue formation was evaluated histologically. For immunohistochemical analysis, the specimens were sectioned and incubated with primary antibodies against dentin sialoprotein (DSP). Results: In the micro-CT analysis, it is revealed that OST with ProRoot MTA groups showed more mineralized bridge than the control (p < 0.05). In the H&E staining, it is showed that more quantity of the mineralized dentin bridge was formed in the OST with ProRoot MTA group compared to the control (p < 0.05). In all groups, DSP was expressed in newly formed reparative dentin area. Conclusions: OST can be a supplementary pulp capping material when used with MTA to make synergistic effect in hard tissue formation.

최근 치과용 지르코니아 CAD/CAM 수복물의 임상적 고찰 (A clinical consideration of current dental zirconia CAD/CAM restorations)

  • Currently there is no dental ceramic material can be used in all dental situations need to be restored. However, in view of recent clinical reports, the most viable alternative is zirconia ceramic. Clinical success of dental zirconia restorations strongly depends on proper selection of materials, accurate laboratory procedure and final cementation, which can be achievable with the correct understanding of zirconia. As dental materials, zirconia ceramics have a very bright future, because they are being used increasingly in the anterior region as implant fixtures, as well as crown and bridge restorations and implant abutments. Many dental ceramics showing poor clinical performance have been gone from the dental market. However, in terms of outstanding mechanical properties and esthetic nature, new dental materials can replace zirconia ceramics will not be available in the foreseeable future.

치과 CAD/CAM 시스템 보유 현황 및 사용 만족도 조사 연구 (A study on the possession state of dental CAD/CAM system and usage satisfaction)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status and satisfaction of dental CAD/CAM system. Methods: A survey of dental technicians was conducted and a total of 353 responses were used for analysis. The satisfaction difference according to career was analyzed by ANOVA and tukey HSD (α = .05). Results: Satisfaction with the design program was 3.64 ± .86, the highest among all items. On the other hand, the satisfaction with price was 2.75 ± 1.02, which was the lowest. The difference according to career was statistically significant in the following items. Frequent breakdown, single crown margin, bridge crown margin, retentivity, price, A/S, equipment training (p<.05). Conclusion: As the materials applied to dental CAD/CAM are expanding and the types of prostheses are diversified, the use rate of CAD/CAM is continuously increasing. The dental CAD/CAM system will need to be improved in a way that will satisfy all patients, dentists and dental technicians.

온성 방법에 따른 수종의 임시 수복용 레진의 착색시의 색 안정성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Color Stability of Temporary Resins according to Polymerizing Methods and Staining)

  • Dental temporary resin should have adequate strength and similar esthetics as natural teeth. Recently esthetics has become a high priority in clinical dentistry. Thus the evaluation of color stability of dental temporary resin has become an important part in dental research. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difference in color stability of 3 resins($Snap^{(R)}$, Temporary bridge $resin^{(R)}$, Trim $II^{(R)}$) according to polymerizing methods and stainning. The resins were divided into groups by 2 types of polymerizing methods ( air or pressure and heat curing) The resins were dyed with coffee, chlorhexidine and artificial saliva and then the color stability was evaluated with a spectrophotometer(CM-503i, Minolta, Japan). The results were as follows ; 1. In the color stability according to polymerizing method, pressure and heat polymerizing method was higher than air polymerizing method. 2. The color stability according to staining fluid decreased in the order of I, II, III group, there was significant difference among the groups of staining fluid. 3. The color stability according to resins decreased in the order of $Snap^{(R)}$, Trim $II^{(R)}$, Temporary Bridge $resin^{(R)}$, The $Snap^{(R)}$ resin was highest color stability, there was significant difference among the 3 resins.

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate the patterns of prosthetic restorations according to sex and age. We had surveyed the out-patents of dental clinics it Jeon-Ju, Iri and Gun roan area. The abtained result were as follow ; 1. The patterns of prosthetic restoration in female was higher than male and 20$\sim$30 age groups was higher than others. 2. The crown was higher in prosthetic restoration. 3. The procelain appliance area was high in male and female on 20$\sim$29 age. 4. The partial denture was higher than full denture in both sex. 5. The crown appliance area was not different in both sex. 6. The 3 unit bridge was higher than other bridge in both sex. 7. The porcelain appliance area was high in male and female on upper anterior. 8. The inlay appliance area of lower posterior was higher than upper posterior. 9. The upper posterior was high in male, and the lower posterior was high in female in partial denture. 10. The full dentur was high in old age group.

맹인의 구강보건관리실태 및 구강보건진료수요에 관한 조사연구 (A STUDY ON THE ORAL HEALTH STATUS AND THE DETECTABLE DENTAL NEEDS OF THE TOTALLY BLIND PERSONS)

  • The purpose of this study was to obtain the basic data for oral health program planning of the totally blind persons. The author had surveyed oral health status and dental needs of 268 totally blind persons aged from 7 years old to 29 in Seoul, Korea, Thereafter, the toothbrushing frequency, df rate, dft index, DMF rate, DMFT index, restorative treatment requirement, bridge status, periodontal status, and periodontal requirement were calculated and discussed. The obtained results were as follows: 1. The average toothbrushing frequency was 2.53 times a day, and the average toothbrushing frquency after eating was 2.12 times a day. 2. DMF rate was 53.73%, and DMFT index was 2.12. 3. the average number of teeth required restorative treatment due to dental caries was 1.95. 4. Oral hygiene instruction was required in 15.30%, oral porphylaxis and oral hygiene instruction in 58.58%, periodontal therapy in 10.14%. %. Incremental dental care system was recommended to improve dental health status of the totally blind persons.

치기공과 교육과정의 타당성에 관한 연구 - 대구.경북지역을 중심으로 - (A Feasibility Study for the Development of Dental Technology curriculum (Focusing on Daegu-Gyeongbuk Area))

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to lay the groundwork for the development of appropriate training courses for a rapidly changing digital technology in the field of Dental technology. Methods: The subjects of this study were dental technicians, dental technology students, a professor of dental technology in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area and a self-administered structured questionnaire survey was conducted for 350 randomly selected people. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 17.0 statistics program and analysis techniques include the frequency, percentage and cross-analysis. Results: The results of the survey are as follows. The usefulness of Major subjects was Full Denture laboratory (4.72 points), Dental Morphology (4.71 points), Crown and Bridge laboratory (4.69 points) in the instructor's group. The usefulness of Major subjects was Dental Morphology (4.56 points), Full Denture (4.36 points), Crown and Bridge laboratory (4.69 points) in the student's group. The usefulness of Major subjects was Dental Morphology (4.58 points), Dental Morphology laboratory (4.34 points), Partial Denture laboratory (4.30 points) in the dental technician's group. Subject with the highest usefulness of required course to open was CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory, the highest proportion of 91.2% and Implant laboratory was very useful (91.2%) in the instructor's group. Subject with the highest usefulness of required course to open was CAD/CAM lacture and laboratory, the highest proportion of 90.0% and Implant laboratory was very useful (91.2%) in the student's group. Subject with the highest usefulness of required course to open was CAD/CAM lacture and laboratory, the highest proportion of 91.2% and Implant laboratory was very useful (90.2%) in the dental technician's group. Conclusion: Semester of the subjects was required establishment of CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory in the third year first semester (85.1%) and Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 94.1% in the instructor's group. 87.0% of students need to open CAD/CAM lacture and laboratory in the third year first semester, Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 85.0% in the student's group. Semester of the subjects was required establishment of CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory in the third year first semester (81.0%) and Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 80.0% in the dental technician's group.
