  • The varistor properties and stability against dc-accelerated stress of $V_2O_5-Mn_3O_4-Co_3O_4-Dy_2O_3-Nb_2O_5-Bi_2O_3$ (VMCDNB)-doped zinc oxide ceramics sintered at $850-925^{\circ}C$ were investigated. Increasing the sintering temperature increased the average grain size from 4.6 to 8.7 mm and decreased the density of the sintered pellet density from 5.54 to $5.42g/cm^3$. The breakdown field decreased from 5919 to 1465 V/cm because of the increase in the average grain size. Zinc oxide ceramics sintered at $875^{\circ}C$ showed the highest nonlinear coefficient (43.6) and the highest potential barrier height (0.96 eV). Zinc oxide ceramics sintered at $850^{\circ}C$ showed the highest stability: the variation rate of the breakdown field was -2.0% and the variation rate of the nonlinear coefficient was -23.3%, after application of the specified stress (applied voltage/temperature/time).

  • The development speed of semiconductor and display device manufacturing technology is growing faster than the development speed of process equipment. So, there is a growing need for process diagnostic technology that can measure process conditions in real time and directly. In this study, a plasma diagnosis was carried out using impedance variation due to the plasma discharge. Variation of the measurement impedance appears as a voltage change at the reference impedance, and the plasma density is calculated using this. The above experiment was conducted by integrating the plasma diagnosis system and the linear atmospheric pressure DBD plasma source. It was confirmed that plasma density varies depending on various parameters (gas flow rate, $Ar/O_2$ mixture ratio, Input power).

  • Recently, in the apartment house of our country, office building, apartment, and etc, the lightweight composite panel is much used as the partition wall body. This is due to be very convenient when the execution and dismantling is convenient and it forms the space which the consumer in the space desires. Therefore, in this research, the thermal conductivity property of the lightweight composite panel core according to the replacement ratio variation of the pearlite tries to be analyze. As the density test result and replacement ratio of the pearlite increased, the density showed the tendency to rise. the replacement ratio of the pearlite increased, the absorption rate showed the tendency to fall. And this is determined that absorption rate is degraded due to the increase in the density. the thermal conductivity test result and pearlite replacement ratio increased, the tendency that the thermal conductivity increases was represented.

  • Melting process of ice in a rectangular cavity with different temperature walls has been studied experimentally. Front shape of ice and melting rate were affected by initial temperature of ice and variation of temperature distribution and density gradient. When the hot wall temperature was below $8^{\circ}C$, the melting rates were higher at the bottom than those of at the top due to the density inversion, but with increasing the hot wall temperature the melting rates at the top were affected by hot wall and were higher than those of at the bottom. When the initial temperature of ice was low, melting rates were low, but with increasing the time melting rates were almost the same with those of each initial temperature of ice.

  • A simple model to analyze non-linear density-wave instability in a sodium-cooled helically coiled steam generator is developed. The model is formulated with three regions with moving boundaries. The homogeneous equilibrium flow model is used for the two-phase region and the shell-side energy conservation is also considered for the heat flux variation in each region. The proposed model is applied to the analysis of two-phase instability in a JAEA (Japan Atomic Energy Agency) 50MWt No.2 steam generator. The steady state results show that the proposed model accurately predicts the six cases of operating temperatures on the primary and secondary sides. The sizes of three regions, the secondary side pressure drop according to the flow rate, and the temperature variation in the vertical direction are also predicted well. The temporal variations of the inlet flow rate according to the throttling coefficient, the boiling and superheating boundaries and the pressure drop in the two-phase and superheating regions are obtained from the unsteady analysis.

  • High-.ate in-situ$ YBa_2$Cu$Cu_3$$O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) film growth was demonstrated by means of the electron beam co-evaporation. Even though our oxygen pressure is low, ∼$5 ${\times}$10^{-5}$ Torr, we can synthesize as-grown superconducting YBCO films at a deposition rate of around 10 nm/s. Relatively high temperatures of around 90$0^{\circ}C$ was necessary in this process so far, and it suggests that this temperature at a given oxygen activity allows a Ba-Cu-O liquid formation along with an YBCO epitaxy. Local critical current density shows a clear correlation with local resistivity. Homogeneous transport properties with a large critical current density ($4 ∼ 5 MA/\textrm{cm}^2$ at 77K, 0T) are observed in top faulted region while it is found that the bottom part carries little supercurrent with a large local resistivity. Therefore, it is possible that thickness dependence of critical current density is closely related with a topological variation of good superconducting paths and/or grains in the film bodies. The information derived from it may be useful in the characterization and optimization of superconducting films for electrical power and other applications.

  • Recently it was reported that the life of Al Sacrifical anode is being used in port piers has been significantly shortened compared with the original design life (e.g. average life shortened from 20 years to 13-15 year) Those factors involving these problems mentioned above were seemed to be a quality of anode material and diverse environmental factors such as pH flow rate temperature Dissolved oxygen Chemical oxygen demand and resistivity etcm In this study flow rate and contamination degree(pH) of sea water affecting to sacrificial anode life hve been investigated in terms of electrochemical characteristics of Al alloy sacrificial anode It was known that the lifetime of Al alloy anode was shortened not only by increasing of self-corrosion quantity by varying flow rate of sea water but also by increasing corrosion current density due to the potential difference increment between Al anode and steel structure cathode by varying contamination degree of sea water. Especially when anode current density is from 1mA/cm2 to 3mA/cm2 and flow rate of sea water is under 2m/s anode current efficiency is 90% above However flow rate is over 2m/s anode current efficiency fell down sharply due to erosion corrosion as well as galvanic corrosion.

  • This experiment was conducted with nine wheat geno-types to choose the wheat which has excellent early vigour. 'Vigour 18' and 'ZL 59A' are excellent in the long coleoptile genotype, while 'Amery' and 'Janz' are excellent in the short coleoptile genotype. Responding to the growth stage and nitrogen level, Vigour 18 is predominant in the long coleoptile genogype, while Janz in the short coleoptile genotype. Responding to sowing density and nitrogen level, the higher the sowing density was, the shorter the leaf area of Vigour 18 and Janz. Also the leaf area turned out to larger in the plot fertilized with high nitrogen than in the plot fertilized with low nitrogen. This is true of leaf weight and root weight. Concerning specific leaf area (SLA) and leaf area ratio (LAR), the higher the sowing density was, the SLA tended to grow larger, while the SLA grew larger in the plot fertilized with low nitrogen, as were found in Vigour 18 and Janz. The roots of long coleoptile genotype, Vigour 18, turned out to grow longest on the plot sown with 3 seeds. While the roots of short coleoptile genotype, Janz, grew longest on the plot sown with 2 seeds. The relative growth rate (RGR) was the same at low N rates and high N rates. The RGR was 0.071 and 0.072 g $g^{-1}d^{-1}$ at low N rates and high N rates. The partitioning of RGR into net assimilation rate (NAR) and LAR showed that the average LAR at low N rates was similar to the LAR at high N rates. Variation within each cultivar in the LAR and NAR was small relative to the difference between them at low N rates and high N rates. Above ground mass was 8.2 mg greater at high N rates than low N rates, whereas leaf area was 0.05 $\textrm{m}^2$$kg^{-l}$ greater at high N rates than low N rates. The NAR was similar at low N rates and high N rates, whereas LAR was greater at high N rates (0.05 $\textrm{m}^2$$kg^{-l}$); variation in SLA was responsible for the variation in NAR and LAR both at low N rates and high N rates. NAR was more closely associated with the reciprocal of SLA.

  • Final biomass yields (peak optical density) and growth rates (divisions/day) of seven clones of Skeletonema costatum from Korean coastal waters were measured to understand their intraspecific variations in the light intensity niche component under $25^{\circ}C$ condition. Daily growth rates of 6 of 7 S. costatum, clones were maximum at 6000 lux while that of YS4, a neritic clone, was maximum at 9000 lux. The final biomass yields of 4 of the 7 S. costatum clones were maximum at the lowest light intensity of 2000 lux. Minimum final biomass yields were found at 9000 lux in all the S. costatum clones other than an estuarine clone, HDC9. The intraspecific variations of the mean growth rate and mean final biomass yield under each of the three different light intensity in terms of the coefficient of variation were not greater than 10% in any of the 7 S. costatum clones.

  • The lightweight foamed concrete is superior to properties of insulation and light-weight because it is included in many inner pore. So, lightweight foamed concrete used to construction field that need to property of insulation. The property of insulation of lightweight foamed concrete is varied with density. Also, Density is varied with hardening matrix and pore rate. The purpose of the experiment is to know thermal properties of specimen according to the change of density when heating the specimen. As a result of this experiment, the higher density, the lower temperature of mold. this tendency isn't same as ordinary lightweight foamed concrete, and then density 0.9 is expressed most low temperature result also the discontinuity of shape of mold was efficient for the prevention of the temperature rise.
