  • In this paper, we design Real-Time Postal Logistics Operational Model and System as a to-be system. Current postal logistics information system, named PostNet, is a basic infra system designed for an end-to-end IT-driven process, from mail acceptance to delivery, linked with internal and external systems. Recent competing circumstances drive demand for more intelligent information system. So we design real-time postal logistics operational system focused on site operations. we analyze postal logistics operation and interview field workers and establish real-time postal logistics operational model to solve operational issues. Finally we suggest system specifications.

A Study on the Bus Operation Management and Transport Strategy (버스운행관리 및 수송전략에 관한 연구)

  • The bus should supply an equal service to the whole community as feeder trip. However the existing bus route can not supply an effective feeder service in spite of the changes in the latent demand by the variety of regional structural change. This study aimed to establish the concept which frames the bus operation and management to cope with the latent demand to the bus. This study tackled this evidence by analyzing the transportation problems in terms of the urban growth emphasizing the following issues ; First, the strategy to improve the bus operation Second the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third economical range to justify the bus operation Second, the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third, economical range to justify the bus operation Fourth, the allowance for the private transportation mode On the latter part, the difference on the bus operation was compared to determine the range within which the bus operation could be justified. This study would provide some implications to improve the management for bus operation and fundamental information to develop the bus operation system.

  • Consumers keep demanding for diversified high quality products, valuable services and safety. With this in mind, Distribution Industry is being updated rapidly to accomodate this demand. Meanwhile, Distribution Information Technology of agricultural products has been in slow progress with little in-depth studies. In this study, it has been analyzed the usage of Bar code which is the key element for agricultural Distribution Information Technology. The analysis was conducted through a survey utilizing questionnaire covering 5 Hypermarkets(Super-centers) including big 3 companies. Also, Japanese market trends have been studied to visit a Japan Government Organization concerned, GS1 Japan, an Agricultural Cooperative, an Agricultural Wholesale Market, and a Retail Company. If we could use KAN code for all agricultural products, we could collect and analyze the information of price and trade quantity of them. It opens a new era to understand the agricultural products supply and demand easily. This will certainly make a great contribution to the evolution of agricultural products distribution. From this research, it is suggested that collective efforts by suppliers, wholesalers, retailers and Government Officers are needed to make large scale mutual marketing Organizations, which specialize in sending out agricultural products. The Organization is recommended to standardize and pack every final agricultural products, to promote the use of KAN code.

  • With the advancement of internet and video compression technology, there has been an increasing demand for video, and producted a large quantity contents of UCC. Therefore, Semantic-sensitive retrieval and construction for digital video library is more in demand than ever. However, it is extremely difficult to categorize and label scenes in any video automatically for searching wanted scene. This study proposes a method to extract certain scenes and analyze the video content, and shows the experimental results after categorizing 5 sports news(soccer, baseball, golf, basketball, and volleyball).

Development of Continuous Real-time COD Measurement Sensor with Double Beam and Multiple Wavelength Analysis (더블 빔 구조, 다파장 분석을 적용한 연속식 실시간 COD 측정 센서 개발)

  • At present, the index of chemical oxygen demand (COD) is widely used as an indicator of organic water pollution with biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). But, traditional COD measurement method are not only with various chemical reagents exhausted, but also long time consumed, the operation procedure and the modification are much professional. This paper reported a novel COD measurement system using double-beam and multiple wavelength analysis UV-VIS spectrometries. It consists of pulsed xenon lamp, two-way optical fiber, optical switch, spectrometer and main processor. Proposed COD measurement system obtains any spectral information of water sample (KHP standard sample and two river water and wastewater) and reference sample (distilled water) in the range of 200~520 nm, corresponding to the COD concentration from 0 to 300 mg/L through calculating the UV absorbance. The system show improved precision and can work continuously fast at time interval about 25 seconds.

  • With the arrival of ubiquitous networking environment, it has been needed to build up the u-infrastructure for railway, and so the realization of ubiquitous rail system could be preferred. We have studied the direction for development of technology for realizing u-rail system through the analysis of the condition and demand on railway system, and investigated the requirements, level of technology and applicability of information infrastructure for realizing u-Rail. And also analyzed the technology based on railway information to determine the role of existing information system and connect it, which is adequate for u-Rail and the project selection.

  • In the past, technology commercialization was implemented in a narrow sense, such as technology transfer or start-up support. It has been pointed out that lack of entrepreneurial experience, failure in technology development, and insecure markets lead to failure of technology commercialization. The project supporting direct commercialization of technologies owned by academic and research institutes conjoins public funds and operating power of large enterprises to introduce a new technology commercialization model that combines commercialization technology with capital, market, and government policies. And pain points for direct commercializing technology was derived. Through research and analysis, a gap was found between the demand factors and the capability of the actors performing the technology commercialization, and it showed a significant correlation with the paint points. In consequence, measures were drawn to improve support policies to enhance the efficiency of commercialization of technologies held by universities and research institutes.

  • The demand for metaverse is increasing rapidly due to the development of 3D information technology and the pandemic situation caused by COVID-19. Small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) are also in increasing demand for metaverse in the community, meetings, and customer services of their employees. Based on the UTAUT model, this study investigated the acceptance of the Metaverse-type information system(IS) by employees of SMEs. Using the responses from 170 SMEs employees, we conducted the regression analyses SMEs employees' usage intention on Metaverse-type IS. The results of the research analyses were as follows. First, among the variables of the UTAUT model, performance expectations, social influence, and promotion conditions had a significant effect on the intention to use. Second, among the variables derived from the industrial specificity of Metaverse-type IS, only individual innovation had a significant influence on the intention to use. Last but not least, in the relationship between the intention to use Metaverse-type IS and the influencing factors, only individual innovation was significant in the moderating effect according to past metaverse use experience.

Seismic capacity re-evaluation of the 480V motor control center of South Korea NPPs using earthquake experience and experiment data

  • The recent seismic events that occurred in South Korea have increased the interest in the re-evaluation of the seismic capacity of nuclear power plant (NPP) equipment, which is often conservatively estimated. To date, various approaches-including the Bayesian method proposed by the United States (US) Electric Power Research Institute -have been developed to quantify the seismic capacity of NPP equipment. Among these, the Bayesian approach has advantages in accounting for both prior knowledge and new information to update the probabilistic distribution of seismic capacity. However, data availability and region-specific issues exist in applying this Bayesian approach to Korean NPP equipment. Therefore, this paper proposes to construct an earthquake experience database by combining available earthquake records at Korean NPP sites and the general location of equipment within NPPs. Also, for the better representation of the seismic demand of Korean earthquake datasets, which have distinct seismic characteristics from those of the US at a high-frequency range, a broadband frequency range optimization is suggested. The proposed data construction and seismic demand optimization method for seismic capacity re-evaluation are demonstrated and tested on a 480 V motor control center of a South Korea NPP.

  • In order to improve ScienceON as a customized portal for MZ generation, this study investigated the characteristics of MZ generation's use of information portals and the demand for ScienceON to derive ways to improve ScienceON. To this end, a survey was conducted on Generation MZ who had experience using ScienceON, and the direction of improvement of ScienceON was derived. The ScienceON improvement plan proposed in this study is as follows. First, it is necessary to derive a plan to be familiar with the MZ generation for the MZ generation seeking familiarity and convenience. Second, it is necessary to improve the portal, such as arranging intuitive menus and providing convenient information, and various ways such as improving design and UI and reorganizing functions provided by ScienceON are needed. Third, it is necessary to promote the spread of Science ON by providing content through various platforms such as SNS and YouTube. In the future, as interest in the MZ generation continues to increase, analysis studies on the characteristics and demand of the MZ generation are expected to increase. Therefore, this study can be used as basic data for research on MZ generation, and it is expected that it can be used as a reference for the demand for information search and services of MZ generation.
