Assessment of Sediment Yield according to Observed Dataset

  • South Korea is a maritime nation, surrounded by water on three sides; hence, it is important to preserve in a sustainable manner. Most areas, especially those bordering the East Sea, have been suffering from severe coastal erosion. Information on the sediment yield of a river basin is an important requirement for water resources development and management. In Korea, data on suspended sediment yield are limited owing to a lack of logistic support for systematic sediment sampling activities. This paper presents an integrated approach to estimate the sediment yield for ungauged coastal basins by using a soil erosion model and a sediment delivery rate model in a geographic information system (GIS)-based platform. For applying the sediment yield model, a basin specific parameter was validated on the basis of field data, that, ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 for the 19 gauging stations. The calculated specific sediment yield ranged from 17 to $181t/km^2.yr$ in the various basin sizes of Korea. We obtained reasonable sediment yield values when comparing the measured data trends around the world with those in Korean basins.

  • In this paper, we propose an embedded robot system based on "ROS2 on Yocto" that can support various robots. We developed a lightweight OS based on the Yocto Project as a next-generation robot platform targeting cloud robotics. Yocto Project was adopted for portability and scalability in both software and hardware, and ROS2 was adopted and optimized considering a low specification embedded hardware system. We developed SLAM, navigation, path planning, and motion for the proposed robot system validation. For verification of software packages, we applied it to home cleaning robot and indoor delivery robot that were already commercialized by LG Electronics and verified they can do autonomous driving, obstacle recognition, and avoidance driving. Memory usage and network I/O have been improved by applying the binary launch method based on shell and mmap application as opposed to the conventional Python method. Finally, we verified the possibility of mass production and commercialization of the proposed system through performance evaluation from CPU and memory perspective.

음식 주문 배달 산업의 긴꼬리 효과에 관한 실증 연구 (The Long Tail Effect in the Online Food Ordering and Delivery Industry)

  • Purpose - This study aims to quantify the long tail effect in the digital economy. It also investigates the role of digital platform before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach - We take advantage of a granular data set from one of the biggest digital platforms in Korea. Rather than computing the absolute number of products sold or the Gini coefficient, we estimate the slope of the log-linear relationship of the non-parametric sales distribution. Findings - We find that the use of online food order and delivery services is positively associated with individual restaurant's sales growth. We also document that the long tail effect is increasing over time. Long tail effects are clustered in the cross-section where average revenue per order is high or the restaurant belongs to the top 50% of the sales distribution. Research implications or Originality - The findings may indicate that digital platforms are contributing to the development of the digital economy in Korea. Also, we confirm that digital platforms make it possible for small and sole proprietors to go through the difficulties induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

지각된 위험 및 리뷰 진단성이 배달앱 수용에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Perceived Risk and Review Diagnosticity on the Acceptance of Food Delivery Application)

  • 본 연구는 배달앱의 수용을 촉진하거나 억제하는 요인의 탐색에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 가능한 선행 요인으로 리뷰의 진단성 및 기술적 규범, 위험의 다차원적 지각 정도를 살펴보고 있는 본 연구는 실제 배달앱 비즈니스가 활성화되어 있는 주요 광역도시 거주 사용자들을 대상으로 데이터를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료에 대해 시행한 구조방정식 모형 분석의 결과는 배달앱에 게재되어 있는 리뷰의 진단성 및 기술적 규범의 수준에 대한 인식이 향상될수록, 그리고 배달앱 사용에 수반되리라 예상되는 다차원적 위험 지각이 완화될수록 보다 우호적인 방향으로 태도가 형성되게 됨을 확인시켜 주었다. 아울러 이러한 태도가 실제 배달앱 수용의 의사에 미치는 정(+)의 영향력은 지각된 위험의 수준이 악화될수록 보다 완화되게 됨을 확인시켜 주었다. 이러한 일련의 실증결과는 최근 다양한 분야에서 부상하고 있는 O2O 서비스 플랫폼의 수용 및 확산을 촉진할 수 있는 전략적 제도적 지침의 마련에 기여하여 줄 수 있을 것이다. 즉, 최근 부상 중인 여러 신생 O2O 서비스 업체들의 시장 안착에 요구되는 전략적 고려 사항에 대한 인식 환기와 더불어 보다 신속한 사용자 저변의 확대에 이바지할 수 있는 동인들을 발견해 내는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

실내 환경에서 QR 코드 기반 목적지 자율주행을 위한 운반 로봇에 관한 연구 (A Study on Transport Robot for Autonomous Driving to a Destination Based on QR Code in an Indoor Environment)

  • 본 논문은 실내 환경에서 QR 코드를 이용하여 목적지 자율 주행이 가능한 운반 로봇에 관한 연구이다. 운반 로봇은 QR 코드 인식을 위한 카메라와 좌우 벽과의 거리를 감지하여 로봇이 이동 중 일정한 간격을 유지할 수 있도록 라이다 센서가 부착하여 설계 제작하였다. 운반 로봇의 위치 정보는 QR 코드 영상을 Lanczos resampling 보간법으로 확대한 후 Otsu Algorithm 으로 이진화하고, Zbar 라이브러리를 활용하여 검출 및 해석을 수행하였다. QR 코드 인식은 운반 로봇의 카메라 위치와 QR 코드 높이가 192cm 로 고정된 상태에서 QR 코드의 크기와 운반 로봇의 주행 속도를 변화시키면서 실험을 수행하였으며, QR 코드 크기가 9cm×9cm 일 때 99.7%, 운반 로봇의 주행 속도가 약 0.5m/s 이하 일 때 거의 100%의 인식률을 보여주었다. QR 코드 인식율을 바탕으로 목적지 자율주행을 위해 장애물이 없는 상태에서 목적지가 직진만 있는 경우와 목적지가 직진과 회전이 있는 경우에 대해 실험을 수행하였다. 목적지가 직진만 있는 경우에는 위치 보정이 거의 필요 없어 목적지에 빠르게 도달할 수 있었으나, 목적지에 회전이 포함된 경우에는 위치 보정이 필요하여 목적지에 도착하는 시간이 상대적으로 지연되었다. 실험 결과, 운반 로봇이 주행 중 약간의 위치 오차가 발생하였으나 비교적 정확하게 목적지에 도달함을 알 수 있었으며, QR 코드 기반 목적지 자율주행 운반 로봇의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

멀티로터 무인항공기의 전기추진계통 성능예측에 대한 연구 (Study on Performance Prediction of Electric Propulsion System for Multirotor UAVs)

  • This paper describes a study of performance prediction of an electric propulsion system for multirotor UAVs. The electric propulsion system consists of motors, propellers, batteries and speed controllers, and significantly affects performance characteristics of the platform. The performance of the electric propulsion system for multirotor UAVs was predicted using an analytical model derived from the characteristics of each component, operation experiments and statistical analyses. Ground performance tests and endurance flights were performed to verify the reliability of the proposed performance prediction method. A quadrotor platform was designed to demonstrate the parcel delivery service used in the endurance flight. From the result of verification tests, it was confirmed that the proposed method has a good agreement.

GIS Oriented Platform For Solving Real World Logistic Vehicle Routing Problem

  • Logistics optimization problems related with vehicle routing such as warehouse locating, track scheduling, customer order delivery, wastage pickup etc. are very interesting and important issues to date. Many Vehicle Routing and Scheduling Systems (VRSS) have been developed/proposed to optimize the logistics problems. But majority of them are dedicated to a particular problem and are unable to handle the real world spatial data directly. The system developed for one problem may not be suitable for others due to inter-problem constraint variations. The constraints may include geographical, environmental and road traffic nature of the working region along with other constraints related with the problem. So the developer always needs to modify the original routing algorithm in order to fulfill the purpose. In our study, we propose a general-purpose platform by combining GIS road map and Database Management System (DBMS), so that VRSS can interact with real world spatial data directly to solve different kinds of vehicle routing problems. Using the features of our developed system, the developer can frequently modify the existing algorithm or create a new one to serve the purpose.

Virtual Reality 콘텐츠 제작 유형이 고객 만족에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Virtual Reality Content Production Types on Customer Satisfaction)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the type of virtual reality content production affects the interaction and immersion that is a virtual reality characteristic, and to provide the platform companies and content producers with the basic information necessary to provide the production and service of content suitable for VR characteristics. Methods: Based on the data collected in the survey, multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were used. The measurement tools used in this study were studied through three-dimensional composition, including the characteristics and interaction and immersion of content produced in 2D, 3D and 360°, which are elements of virtual reality characteristics. Results: The results of this study are as follows. Among the types of content production, content produced with 2D and 360 technologies was found to affect immersion, while content produced in 3D affected interaction. Motion sickness has been investigated to affect both immersion and interaction. Conclusion: Service-provided platform enterprises and content-making enterprises should consider content-making and providing services that suit service characteristics and purposes, taking into account the characteristics of interaction and immersion in content-making investment and service delivery.

A Set-top Box with Virtual Platform Support for QoS Management in IMS Based Multiple Provider Networks

  • Set-top Box (STB) has evolved from being a device just sitting on top of a TV shelf to a device providing a gateway to the Internet for a home network, receiving services from multiple content providers, and enabling and ensuring Quality of Service (QoS) for the streaming media. IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), with its promise to provide a converged access network for multimedia service delivery (such as Triple play & Quadruple play services), has to guarantee QoS support. To enable QoS in IMS-based networks, we have designed a set-top box which provides feedback to the service provider to ensure end-to-end QoS. Our set-top box is designed to provide virtual platforms such that it can support multiple service providers. Each service provider is able to manage its own multimedia streams and ensures the desired network performance for each flow. The set-top box also works as a Home Gateway and provides end-to-end QoS support to the client nodes.

  • 전세계적으로 반려인이 꾸준히 증가하고 있고, 반려동물에 대한 사회적 인식이 '가족'의 일원으로 변하면서 반려동물 산업도 다양한 방식으로 발전 및 성장하고 있다. 반려동물은 건강에 문제가 있어도 표현할 수 없어 질병이 악화하는 경우가 많아 IoT 기술을 활용해 건강 변화를 조기에 확인할 수 있는 펫테크 헬스케어시장도 주목받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 반려동물 헬스케어 시장에 대한 조사 및 선행연구를 분석하여 확대되는 반려동물 헬스케어 시장에 서비스디자인이 이러한 문제 인식을 바탕으로 반려동물 헬스케어 시장에서 중요한 동물 검체 운반 서비스 개발에 관여하여 콜드체인 서비스 시장을 활성화할 수 있고, 향후 확장된 반려동물 헬스케어 시장에서 반려인, 반려동물, 동물병원 등의 다양한 이해 관계자가 모두 만족할 수 있는 솔루션 개발에 방향을 제시하고자 한다.
