전술 애드 혹 네트워크에서 다중 홉 전송을 위한 자원 예약 및 백오프 기법 (IEEE 802.11 MAC based Multi-hop Reservation and Backoff Scheme in MIMC Tactical Ad Hoc Networks)

  • In multi-interface multi-channel(MIMC) based tactical ad hoc networks, QoS support for required operational capacity is one of the main challenging issues for multi-hop transmissions. To support QoS in such a harsh environment, we propose a novel MAC scheme to minimize multi-hop as well as per-hop delay. The current IEEE 802.11 MAC protocols should contend to reserve the channel resource at every hop by each sender. The every-hop channel contention results in a degradation of end-to-end delay for multi-hop transmissions. The basic idea of our scheme is to make a "multi-hop reservation" at the MAC layer by using the modified RTS frame. It contains additional information such as destination information, packet priority, and hop count, etc. In addition, we differentiate the contention window area according to the packet priority and the number of hops to deliver packets in the predefined allowed latency. Our scheme can minimize the multi-hop delay and support the QoS of the critical data in real time(i.e., VoIP, sensing video data, Video conference between commanders). Our simulation study and numerical analysis show that the proposed scheme outperforms the IEEE 802.11 MAC.

차별화 서비스 망에서 low-delay 멀티캐스트 서비스 제공 방안 (A Scheme to Support a Low-delay Multicast Service on Differentiated Services Network)

  • 차별화 서비스(Differentiated Services) 망에서 실시간 멀티캐스트를 지원하기 위해서 EF(Expedite Forwarding) PHB(Per Hop Behavior)를 사용하여 전송한다면 EF PHB와 멀티캐스트 플로우의 특성 때문에 EF 멀티캐스트 플로우가 증가하게 될 경우 망의 관리나 자원 관리가 어렵다. 또한 LBE(Lower Than Best-effort) PHB를 이용한 멀티캐스트 전송은 전송지연을 보장할 수 없다는 단점이 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 AF(Assured Forwarding) PHB를 이용하여, 허용 가능한 홉 당 지연시간 이내에서 처리를 해줄 수 있는 저지연 멀티캐스트(Low-delay Multicast)라는 새로운 PHB를 제안하고, 이를 위한 차별화 서비스 망에서의 핵심요소인 첫 흘 라우터. 내부 라우터. 경계 라우터들의 큐 구조를 설계하고 각 라우터들에서의 큐 관리 및 스케줄링 기법을 설계한다.

  • In this paper, we present an analytic model that evaluates the performance of B-MAC protocol under contention transmission conditions of two senders in a single-hop wireless sensor network. Our model considers the impact of several important factors such as sleep cycle, the backoff mechanism and incoming traffic loads. After obtaining the service delay distribution of a sending node and expected delay of a receiving node, an iterative algorithm is presented for calculating the performance measures such as expected energy consumption usage per packet and latency. Simulation results show that the proposed analytic model can accurately estimate the performance measures under different traffic conditions.

  • The moveable ad hoc networks are untrustworthy and susceptible to any intrusion because of their wireless interaction approach. Therefore the information from these networks can be stolen very easily just by introducing the attacker nodes in the system. The straight route extent is calculated with the help of hop count metric. For this purpose, routing protocols are planned. From a number of attacks, the wormhole attack is considered to be the hazardous one. This intrusion is commenced with the help of couple attacker nodes. These nodes make a channel by placing some sensor nodes between transmitter and receiver. The accessible system regards the wormhole intrusions in the absence of intermediary sensor nodes amid target. This mechanism is significant for the areas where the route distance amid transmitter and receiver is two hops merely. This mechanism is not suitable for those scenarios where multi hops are presented amid transmitter and receiver. In the projected study, a new technique is implemented for the recognition and separation of attacker sensor nodes from the network. The wormhole intrusions are triggered with the help of these attacker nodes in the network. The projected scheme is utilized in NS2 and it is depicted by the reproduction outcomes that the projected scheme shows better performance in comparison with existing approaches.

  • 네트웍 환경에서 quality of service(QoS) 에 대한 요구가 증대함에 따라 여러 가지 방안들이 제시되고 있는 가운데, Differentiated services (DiffServ) 모델은 확장성을 보장하며 QoS를 제공할 수 있는 방법으로서 제시되고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 DiffServ 관련 연구들은 통합된 트래픽에 관한 확장성 문제와, 단일 도메인에서의 per hop behavior(PHB)에 관한 문제에만 관심을 두고 있기 때문에, 시간적으로 변화하는 네트웍 조건하에서 다중 도메인의 단대단 QoS를 제공하는 데 있어서는 많은 어려움 들이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다중 DiffServ 도메인에서 네트웍 cost를 최소화하는 가운데 멀티미디어 데이터의 단대단 QoS를 제공할 수 있는 동적 클래스 재협상알고리즘을 제안하였다. 본 논문은 DiffServ의 relative 서비스 모델을 효과적으로 구현할 수 있는 방법과 QoS 레벨 전달 메카니즘, 그리고 동적 클래스 재협상 방법으로 구성되어 있으며, 실험 결과를 통해 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 측정한다.

Congestion Aware Fast Link Failure Recovery of SDN Network Based on Source Routing

  • The separation of control plane and data plane in Software Defined Network (SDN) makes it flexible to control the network behavior, while also causes some inconveniences to the link failure recovery due to the delay between fail point and the controller. To avoid delay and packet loss, pre-defined backup paths are used to reroute the disrupted flows when failure occurs. However, it may introduce large overhead to build and maintain these backup paths and is hard to dynamically construct backup paths according to the network status so as to avoid congestion during rerouting process. In order to realize congestion aware fast link failure recovery, this paper proposes a novel method which installs multi backup paths for every link via source routing and per-hop-tags and spread flows into different paths at fail point to avoid congestion. We carry out experiments and simulations to evaluate the performance of the method and the results demonstrate that our method can achieve congestion aware fast link failure recovery in SDN with a very low overhead.

Efficient Routing Protocol to Select a High-Performance Route in Wireless Mesh Networks

  • In wireless mesh networks multi-rate technology environment, a mesh node can dynamically modify the data transmission rate on a particular link, in response to link distance, or more accurately, the perceived SNR ratio between neighbor nodes. In such networks, existing route selection schemes use a link quality metric. Thus, these schemes may easily result in the network being overloaded. In this paper, a new route metric is proposed; it considers both per-hop service delay and link quality at mesh nodes. In addition, the Load-Aware AODV (LA-AODV) protocol using the proposed metric is presented. The performance evaluation is performed by simulation using the OPNET simulator. It is demonstrated that the LA-AODV protocol outperforms the existing routing protocols using other existing route metrics in multi-rate WMN environment.

  • In this paper, under saturated traffic condition in a single-hop wireless sensor network, we present an analytic model that evaluates the performance of asynchronous MAC protocol which uses a preamble technique. Our model considers the impact of several important factors such as sleep cycle, the backoff mechanism and the number of contending nodes. After obtaining the cumulative backoff time of a sending node and expected delay of a receiving node, an iterative algorithm is presented for calculating the performance measures such as expected energy consumption usage per packet and latency. Simulation results show that the proposed analytic model can accurately estimate the performance measures under saturated traffic conditions.

MPLS망에서 Differentiated Services 기반 QoS 지원 방안 (A Scheme to Support QoS based-on Differentiated Services in MPLS Network)

  • IETF는 인터넷에서 IP QU를 지원하기 위하여 통합서비스(Int-Serv) 모델과 차별화된 서비스(Diff-Serv) 모델을 정의하였다. Int-Serv 모델은 IP 플로우별로 상태정보를 이용하기 때문에, 트래픽 특성에 따라 QoS를 만족시킬 수 있지만, 흐름 수가 증가함에 따라 관리하여야 할 흐름 상태 정보의 양이 증가하게 된다. Diff-Serv 모델은 PHP(Per Hop Behaviour)를 사용하며, 지연 및 손실 민감도에 따라 차별화된 트래픽에게 서로 다른 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 잘 정의된 서비스 클래스가 있다. Diff-Serv 모델은 흐름별 상태 및 신호 정보를 가지지 않기 때문에 인터넷에서 다양한 서비스를 제공해 줄 수 있다. MPLS는 라벨에 근간을 둔 패킷 포워딩 기술을 사용하기 때문에, 고성능의 포워딩 엔진을 쉽게 구현할 수 있다. MPLS는 서로 다르고 가변적인 대역폭을 갖는 경로를 구축할 수 있고, 각 경로에 특정 CoS(Class of Service)를 할당해 줄 수 있다. 그러므로 서로 다른 트래픽에게 IETF의 IP QoS 모델중 지연 및 손실 민감도에 따라 서로 다른 서비스를 제공해 줄 수 있는 잘 정의된 클래스의 Diff-Sew 모델을 지원해 줄 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 IP QoS를 제공하기 위하여 Diff-Serv모델을 사용할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다. 그리고 트래픽 클래스에 따라 스케줄링 정책을 적용함으로써 시스템 성능을 분석하였다.

OPNET을 이용한 MANET 프로토콜 분석 (Analysis of MANET Protocols Using OPNET)

  • A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is characterized by multi-hop wireless connectivity, frequently changing network topology with mobile nodes and the efficiency of the dynamic routing protocol plays an important role in the performance of the network. In this paper, the performance of five routing protocols for MANET is compared by using OPNET modeler: AODV, DSR, GRP, OLSR and TORA. The various performance metrics are examined, such as packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay and routing overhead with varying data traffic, number of nodes and mobility. In our simulation results, OLSR shows the best performance in terms of data delivery ratio in static networks, while AODV has the best performance in mobile networks with moderate data traffic. When comparing proactive protocols (OLSR, GRP) and reactive protocols (AODV, DSR) with varying data traffic in the static networks, proactive protocols consistently presents almost constant overhead while the reactive protocols show a sharp increase to some extent. When comparing each of proactive protocols in static and mobile networks, OLSR is better than GRP in the delivery ratio while overhead is more. As for reactive protocols, DSR outperforms AODV under the moderate data traffic in static networks because it exploits caching aggressively and maintains multiple routes per destination. However, this advantage turns into disadvantage in high mobility networks since the chance of the cached routes becoming stale increases.
