  • This study analyzes the performance of flipped learning, an offline class method conducted in a degree-linked work-learning parallel system. Training in the work-study parallel system, which is conducted as part of job competency improvement, has thoroughly adhered to the offline method, but in line with COVID-19, unlike before, it is changing in the direction of using the online method more actively. However, educational methods such as flipped learning are not new because the degree-linked operation is applied to the academic system and education method of universities and is practically the same form as general university education. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the educational performance and complementary points of flipped learning, which has recently been expanded in the degree-linked work-study parallel system, considering the characteristics of this system, in which classes are held only on weekends. As a result of statistical analysis based on the survey, some of the outcomes of flipped learning have been confirmed, and in order to increase the performances, it is necessary to continuously seek out specific measures to encourage learning and expand communication between instructors and students.

  • K University of engineering college awarded degrees to workers for major of electrical and electronics in the degree-linked work-study parallel system for the first time in February 2020. In this study, the progressed process to the stage of producing group graduation works for graduates and completing the results in an engineering thesis system were presented. The questionnaire consisting of 39 questions was conducted with the subjects, and the results of the responses were compared and analyzed with the results of full-time students in the same major who graduated in the same year. Statistical analysis was attempted by dividing the five representative response questions by group, but the number of people in each group was less than 30, so the normality test of response results and statistical analysis by parametric methods were limited. However, it was judged that a one-sample t-test was possible. Focusing on this method, it was confirmed that there was a difference of 0.8 points or more between the groups on an average 5-point scale in response items related to the number of changes in the subject of the work, the satisfaction among the members, and the effort to guide the work. And the measures to deal with these differences were suggested.

  • This study investigated the perception of the learning-workers' organizational effectiveness. They participate in the degree-linked work-learning parallel system. As a result, the turnover intention and job performance were higher than those of general office workers, and organizational commitment was lower. In addition, the higher scholastic year and grades, the higher job satisfaction. the higher grades, the lower burnout. specially the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders showed higher turnover intentions than the first grader. The results of the survey of (dis)satisfaction factors of learning workers also show that OJT management in the field should be strengthened rather than OFF-JT education in universities. This paper suggests that companies participating in the work-learning parallel system need higher-level management in aspects such as educational supports, personnel management, and OJT management as well as competency development of learning-workers. It shows that supplementary measures are needed for learning time and learner management of participating companies.

  • A workplace trainer is required to have profound theoretical and technological knowledge, sufficient experience and problem-solving ability in order to play the role of a competent trainer and assessor for the apprentices and experienced worker students who are participating in the Work-Learning Dual System of the company. This study has introduced a Degree-linked Highly Skilled professional Course in Korea and proposed an optimized standard education model for the training of high-quality workplace trainers. It is expected that this study will contribute greatly to the training of highly skilled professionals for efficient implementation of the Work-Learning Dual System and stable institutional settlement of the Highly Skilled professionals Course as the first empirical study on the training of highly skilled professionals.

  • In this study, on-site corporate instructors participated as student-cum-workers in a degree-linked high skills Meister course to improve job competency and practical ability as proposed in the Work-Study Career Vision. Evaluation questions were then developed and their validity was verified by assessing satisfaction related to expected goals in enhancing advanced training guidance and competency as an evaluator. Satisfaction assessment was conducted based on training preparation, training implementation, training effectiveness and training administration. The Delphi Method was adopted and a total of 48 items were developed in 6 categories under 4 main areas. There were 7 evaluation items on the satisfaction of training course development under training preparation, 21 evaluation items related to the satisfaction of Off-JT and OJT courses under training implementation, 16 evaluation items related to the satisfaction of increased competency as an on-site corporate instructor and the satisfaction of enhanced practical skills and skills application at work under training effectiveness, as well as 6 evaluation items to assess satisfaction with administrative support under training administration. The final conformity assessment was conducted based on the stability, content validity ratio, consensus and convergence indicators of the developed items. Results of this study do not only apply to quality management of the high skills Meister course which is being promoted as a pilot project for work-study programs, but also serves as a rationale that may be considered as a basic research tool in the collection of various opinions to derive overall system improvement factors for the work-study high skills Meister course.
