소성변형의 분자론 (제2보). 응용 (Molecular Theory of Plastic Deformation (II). Applications)

  • 소성변형에 대한 저자들의 이론(제1보)을 요업재료, 금속, 합금 및 단결정들에 적용하였다. 그 결과 다중 결정에서는 dislocation 운동과 grain boundary 운동이 실험조건에 따라 함께 또는 분리되어 나타나는 반면 단결정에서는 dislocation 운동만 나타났다. 유동식에 나타나는 파라미터$({\alpha}_{d1},\;1/{\beta}_{d1})와\;({\alpha}_{gj}/X_{gj},\;1/{\beta}_{gj})$ (j = 1 or 2) 및 활성화엔탈피 ${\Delta}H_{k1}^{\neq}$ (k = d 혹은 g)를 구하여 예측한 소성변형은 실험과 잘 일치함을 보았다. 여기서 첨자 d1는 첫번째의 dislocation 유동단위, gj는 j번째 grain boundary 유동단위를 나타낸다. 활성화엔탈피에 대하여 ${\Delta}H_{d1}^{\neq}$는 bulk의 자체확산에 대한 활성화엔탈피와 일치하고 ${\Delta}H_{g1}^{\neq}$는 grain boundary 자체확산에 대한 활성화엔탈피와 일치하였다. 이 사실은 저자들의 이론의 정당성을 보이고 있다.

영광(靈光) 부근(附近) 연성전단대(延性剪斷帶)(전주전단대(全州剪斷帶))의 성질(性質)과 교차양상(交叉樣相)에 관(關)하여 (On the Properties and Intersection Feature of the Ductile Shear Zone (Chonju shear zone) near Yongkwang-Eub)

  • Ductile shear zones developed in Jurassic granites in the Yonggwang area show NE trend at the eastern part and nearly EW trend at the western part, respectively. Judged from shear sense indicators, they have resulted from dextral strike-slip movement. The intersection of both trends is thought to be due to the truncation and offset of NE shear zone Chonju Shear zone by the brittle Yonggwang fault which runs in near EW direction with sinistral movement sense. The simple shear deformation was predominate through the deformation in this ductile shear zone. Based on this deformation mechanism, the shear strain (${\gamma}$) estimated in domain 1 increases from 0.14 at the shear zone margin to 9.41 toward the center of shear zone. Total displacement obtained only from this measured section(JK 59 to JK14) appecars to be 1434.5 meters. The sequential development of microstructures can be divided into three stages; weakly-foliated, well-foliated and banded-foliated stages. In the weakly-foliated stage dislocation glide mechanism might be predominant. In the well-foliated stage grain boundary migration and progressive misorientation of subgrains was remarkable during dynamic recovery and recrystallization. In the banded-foliated stage grain boundary sliding and microfracturing mechanisms accompanied with crushing and cracking were marked. According to strain analysis from quartzites of the metasedimentary rocks, strain intensity (${\gamma}$) of the samples within the ductile shear zone ranges from 2.7 to 5.7, while that of the samples out of the ductile shear zone appears to be about 1.7.

얇은 두께의 웨브를 갖는 세장한 벽체의 변형 능력 평가 (Evaluation of Deformation Capacity of Slender Reinforced Concrete Walls with Thin Web)

  • 이 연구에서는 얇은 두께의 복부를 갖는 세장한 벽체의 변형능력을 평가하였다. 벽체의 주요한 파괴 모드로서 휨항복 이후 비탄성거동을 보이는 벽체에서 주로 관찰되는 복부압괴와 철근인장파단을 고려하였다. 길이 방향 인장변형은 벽체의 파괴변형에 중요한 영향을 미치므로, 트러스모델을 기반으로 단조하중 및 주기하중을 받는 벽체에 발생되는 길이 방향 인장변형률을 예측하였다. 예측된 길이 방향 인장변형을 고려하여 복부압괴 및 철근인장파단에 의한 벽체의 파괴기준을 정립하였다. 제안된 방법을 사용하여 단면 양단부에 단부요소를 갖는 17개 실험벽체의 변형능력을 평가하고 그 결과를 실험값과 비교하였다. 제안된 방법은 실험벽체의 파괴 모드와 변형능력을 합리적이면서 보수적으로 예측하는 것으로 나타났다.

지오그리드 보강토 교대의 장기거동에 관한 수치해석 연구 (Long-Term Behavior of Geogrid Reinforced Soil Abutment - A Numerical Investigation)

  • 본 논문에서는 보강토 구조물의 장기거동에 관한 수치해석 내용을 다루었다. 본 연구는 사용연한동안 지속하중을 받는 보강토 구조물의 장기 변형 관련 메카니즘을 고찰하는데 주 목적을 두었다. 연구를 위해 먼저 Singh-Mitchell 크리프 모델과 멱함수(Power law) 크리프 모델을 이용하여 각각 뒤채움흙과 보강재의 크리프 변형을 모델링하는 방안을 구축하였으며 이를 토대로 뒤채움흙과 토목섬유 보강재의 크리프 특성에 대한 매개변수 연구를 수행하였다. 해석결과 외부하중을 받는 보강토 구조물이 세립분이 많이 포함되어 있는 흙으로 뒤채움이 될 경우 뒤채움흙과 토목섬유 보강재로부터 발생하는 크리프 효과로 인해 상당한 크기의 장기 변형이 발생할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 논문에서는 외부하중을 받는 보강토 구조물에 있어서 크리프 효과가 구조물의 사용성에 미치는 영향을 집중적으로 고찰하였다.

시일과 스틸면 사이에 구형 입자가 있는 미끄럼 접촉 해석 (Sliding Contact Analysis between Rubber Seal, a Spherical Particle and Steel Surface)

  • In this paper, a three elastic body sliding contact problem is modeled to investigate more precise wear mechanisms related with the sealing surface. A 3-D finite element contact model, a small spherical elastic particle, PTFE seal and steel surface, is solved using a nonlinear finite element code MARC. The deformed seal and steel surface shapes, von-Mises and principal stress distributions are obtained for different seal sliding distances. The entrapped small particle within PTFE seal results in very high stresses on the steel surface which exceeded its yield strength and produce plastic deformation such as groove and torus. The sealing surface could also be worn down by sub-surface fatigue due to intervening small particles together with the well-known abrasive wear. Therefore the proposed contact model adopted in this paper can be applied in design of various sealing systems, and further studies are required.

AE방법에 의한 구상화흑연(球狀化黑鉛) 주철재의 파괴기구 구명(究明) (An Investigation of Fracture Mechanism of Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron by Acoustic Emission Method)

  • In this experimental research, fracture mechanisms of spheroidal graphite cast iron (As Cast, annealed and normalized) were investigated by using Acoustic Emission (AE) technique. In this study, the data (AE signal) are digitized and processed with the 8 bits micro-computer (APPLE II) connected to the AE measuring device without data processing unit. The source of AE signal was estimated by fractography analysis. The results obtained in this experimental study are summarized as follows : For the heterogeneous materials (spheroidal graphite cast iron) with inclusions which may considered as cracks, it is found that low and high AE amplitude appear simultaneously and the load is found to be fluctuated in the final stage of deformation. But the lad is not fluctuated in tension test with low AE amplitude only. AE is measured within elastic region and it is confirmed that 0.2% offset yield load agrees approximately with the load point where AE counts decrease steeply after the point of maximum AE counts.

熔接이음부의 形象 最適化에 關한 硏究 (A Study on the Optimization of Shape of Weld Joints)

  • Welding is one of the most important and popular joining techniques employed in structures. In spite of, weld designs depend on the rules and regulations. Moreover, the study to optimize a shape of welding joint not may be sufficient and systematic on the theoretical and experimental sides. Therefore, in this study, a computer program based on thermal elasto plastic theory is developed for optimizing(minimizing) shape of weld joints. By the results, study is made on the characteristics of the distributions of welding residual stresses and plastic strains, and their production mechanisms. Also, Various kinds of tests are carried out to find out mechanical characteristics due to shape of weld joints. As a result of this optimization(minimization) of weld joints, the productivity and the reliability will be improved.

  • The composite framed structures, consisting of RC columns and steel beams more popular in korea because of their efficiency and quality. However the force transfer mechanisms between the column and beam may by very complicated since the materials of columns and beams are different. This study develops "the column penetration joint" which the web of steel beam doesn't penetrate and which could improve the strength, deformation, and energy dissipation capacities compared to existing composite joints. It is the concrete-filled square tube joint with the exterior diaphragms and the cruciform stiffening plates. This study evaluated the strength of RC column penetration to steel beam connection by analyzing the results of partial experiments, and reviewed the applicability the strength formula through the comparison of tested results of joint experiment.

  • Elastic elements, at first, were extensively used in suspensions as vibration isolators at joints. Nowadays they are used to improve stability and handling. The design of these elements has become a very important matter since the loading condition of the mechanism gives a mew suspension geometry without any modification. This paper presents an analysis of forces and moments of joints with elastic elements in the McPherson suspension mechanism to evaluate accurately the elastic deformation using the displacement matrix method in conjunction with the equilibrium equations. First the suspension is modeled as a multi-loop spatial rigid-body guidance mechanism which has elastic elements at the hardpoints of the suspension. Then a method and design euqations are developed to analyze the suspension characteristics by the various tire load. Also the displacement matrices and constraint equations for links are appllied to determine the sensitivity of the suspension mechanism. Finally this approach may conduct a realistic design of suspension mechanisms with elastic elements to improve the performance of the automobile under various driving conditions.

생체흡수성 HA/PLLA 복합재료의 용융혼련조건이 파괴특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Melt-mixing Conditions on Fracture Properties of Bioabsorbable HA/PLLA Composite Materials)

  • Effects of melt-mixing conditions on fracture properties of hydroxyapatite filled bioabsorbable poly(L-lactic acid)(HA/PLLA) composites was investigated by measuring the firacture toughness value of HA/PLLA composites prepared under different mixing time and rotor speed. The fracture surface morphology was also examined by profile measurement and scanning electron microscopies. It was found that the fracture toughness of HA/PLLA composites decreases due to decrease of ductile deformation of PLLA matrix and debonding of interfaces with increase of the rotor speed and mixing time. Effect of mixing process on neat PLLA was also assessed, and it was found that the fracture toughness of PLLA decreases due to disappearance of multiple craze formation and increase of defects. Such thermal and shear-stress degradation were found to be the primary mechanisms of the degradation of HA/PLLA composites during melt-mixing process.
