광 편향기 집적 레이저 다이오드의 제작 및 광의 편향 (Fabrication of deflector integrated laser diodes and light deflection)

  • 광 편향기가 집적된 레이저 다이오드를 제작하고 편향기 주입전류에 따른 레이저 다이오드의 특성 변화 및 출력광의 편향을 조사하였다. 레이저 다이오드와 집적된 수동 도파로의 상부 클래드 층의 일부분에 광 편향기를 집적하고, 편향기의 전류 주입에 따른 굴절률 변화를 유도하여 출력광의 편향이 발생하도록 하였다. 편향기의 전류 주입에 따른 출력광의 특성변화를 조사하기 위하여 편향기 주입 전류에 따른 레이저 다이오드의 문턱 전류(threshold current), 발진 효율(slope efficiency) 및 출력광 스펙트럼을 측정하였다. 측정 결과, 편향기 전류의 증가에 따라 출력광의 문턱 전류는 증가하고, 발진 효율은 감소하는 경향을 나타내었으나 출력광의 스펙트럼에는 영향을 주지 않는 특성을 나타내었다. 또한, 이론적 계산을 통해 광 편향기를 지나는 광이 편향됨을 확인하고, 편향기 집적 레이저 다이오드에서 출력되는 광의 far-field pattern을 측정하여 편향기 주입 전류에 따른 출력광의 편향을 실험적으로 확인하였다. 제작된 광 편향기 집적 레이저 다이오드에서 15 ㎃의 광 편향기 주입 전류 변화에 대해서 1.9$^{\circ}$의 편향각 변화를 측정 할 수 있었다.

반경하중을 받고있는 결함 볼베어링의 진동분석 (Vibration Analysis for the Defective Ball Bearing under Radial Loads)

  • 본 연구에서는 빈경하중과 축회전 속도를 변화시켜 가며 하중으로 인한 베어링의 부하-변위량 특성을 Harris 이론과 비교분석하였다. 실험결과 결함이 없는 경우 하중이 적을 때는 Harris이론과 비교적 잘 일치하나, 하중이 증가할 수록 구동축의 변곡, 볼베어링 하중의 불균형 등의 영향을 받아 이론값과 차이를 보였다. 반경방향 하중이 있는 단일결함과 다중결함의 경우 하중이 증가함에 따라 변위량의 변화는 축심변위량 보다 반경변위량이 더욱 커지게 된다는 것을 알았다. 베어링의 결함상태에 따라 하중과 변위량의 기울기인 부하-변위량 특성을 구함으로써 볼베어링의 결함유무를 검출하였다.

  • A flexure hinge-based compliant stage driven by stack-type piezoelectric elements has high precision motion but small operational range due to the characteristics of the piezoelectric element. Since the common flexure hinges can be broken by excessive deflection when the displacement is amplified by a high amplification ratio, a flexure hinge mechanism for large deflection is required. A cartwheel-type flexure hinge has an advantage of larger deflection compared with the common flexure hinges. This study presents a rotation stage with cartwheel-type flexure hinges driven by a stack-type piezoelectric element. The characteristics and the performance of the rotation stage are described by the terms of principal resonance frequency, amplification ratio of rotational displacement, maximum rotational displacement and block moment, in which the terms are analyzed by geometric parameters of the rotation stage. The analyzed results will be used as the guideline of the design of the rotation stage.

코너부의 펜슬가공시 볼엔드밀의 공구변형 특성 (Characteristics of Tool Deflection of Ball-end Mill Cutter in Pencil Cutting of the Corner)

  • Ball-end milling process is widely used in the die and mold manufacturing because of suitable one for the machining of free-form surface. During the process, the pencil cutting operation can be adopted before finish cut to eliminate overload in uncut area caused by large diameter of ball-end mill. The ball-end mill cutter for the pencil cutting is easily deflected by cutting force due to the long and thin shape, and the tool deflection in pencil cutting is one of the main reason of the machining errors in a free-form surface. The purpose of this study is to find the characteristics of deflected cutter trajectory by constructing measurement system with eddy-current sensor. It was found that the severe reduction of corner radius produced the overcut during the plane cutting. Up cutting method induced the overcut both plane and slope cutting, but down cutting one induced the undercut. From the experiments, down cutting with upward cutting path can generate the small undercut surface.

  • An occupant analysis code SAFE (Safety Analysis For occupant crash Environment) is utilized to simulate and improve the crash performance of an energy absorbing steering system. The safety standard FMVSS 203 is simulated and used for design evaluations . Segments and contact elliposids are utilized to model the bod blocks and the components of the steering system with SAFE. Spring-damper elements and force-deflection characteristics are utilized to model the energy absorbing components such as the plate and the polyacetal molding. The plate absorbs the impact energy through tensile deformation . Whereas, the polyacetal molding absorbs the impact energy through compression. the body block test is carried out to validate tie simulation model, and real component tests are performed to extract the force-deflection curves . After the model is validated , the parameter study is carried out to evaluate the crash performance of the energy absorbing components. A performance measure is defined for the parameter study. Using the results of the parameter study and managing the orthogonal arrays, optimum design values of energy absorbing components are determined to minize the occupant injury.

  • 본 논문은 공용중인 교량구조물의 내하력 평가시 획일적이고 실제 거동특성을 적극적으로 활용하지 않아 발생할 수 있는 내하력 평가의 오류에 대하여 연구하였다. 내하력의 평가시 지점의 경계조건과 같은 현재의 거동특성을 반영하기 위하여 초기 결함을 갖는 부재에 대한 좌굴방정식에 처짐을 적용시켜 산정된 축방향력과 처짐에 의해 구해진 모멘트를 고려하여 교량의 내하력을 평가하였다. 기존의 내하력 평가시에 다소 획일적으로 적용되어지는 응력보정 계수를 좌굴방정식을 통하여 각 주형에 대하여 선 반영함으로서 내하력 평가의 오류를 다소 제거하고자 하였다.

  • A microcantilever-based biosensor with piezoresistor has been fabricated using surface micromachining technique, which is cost effective and simplifies a fabrication procedure. To evaluate the characteristics of the cantilever, the cystamine terminated with thiol was covalently immobilized on the gold-coated side of the cantilever and glutaraldehyde that would be bonded with amine group in the cystamine was injected subsequently. This process was characterized by measuring the deflection of the cantilever in real time monitoring. Using a piezoresistive read-out and a well-known optical beam deflection method as well carried out the measurement of deflection.

Flexural behavior of concrete beams reinforced with CFRP prestressed prisms

  • An experimental investigation on the behaviour of concrete beams reinforced with various reinforcement, including ordinary steel bars, CFRP bars and CFRP prestressed concrete prisms(PCP). The main variable in the test program was the level of prestress and the cross section of PCP.The modes of failure and the crack width were observed. The results of load-deflection and load-crack width characteristics were discussed. The results showed that the CFRP prestressed concrete prisms as flexural reinforcement of concrete beams could limit deflection and crack width under service load and PCP can overcome the serviceability problems associated with the low elastic modulus/strength ratio of CFRP.

이동하중이 일정속도로 작용하는 단순보에서 prebending moment에 의한 동적특성 (Dynamic characteristics of a simple beam subjected to prebending moments and moving loads with constant velocity)

  • This paper presents the dynamic behaviour of a simple beam subjected to moving loads and prebending moments. The velocity of the moving loads is assumed constant, and the prebending moment is assumed to be M. The fundamental equation of motion of the beam is derived from the principle of virtual works and solved by using Duhamel's Integral. In this paper we found that the dimensionless deflection at the middle of beam was related with prebending moment(M), velocity(V) and magnitude of the moving load(F) ; that is y/y$_{0}$=1/1-.betha.$^{2}$-.pi.M/Fl The faster the velocity becomes, the deeper the maximum deflection becomes. And the maximum deflection at the middle of beam was occurred after the moving load passed the midpoint of beam.
