A comparison of the conventional LFPD and HFPD patterns by use of artificial (인위적인 결함을 이용한 기존의 저주파 부분방전과 고주파 부분방전의 패턴 비교 연구)

  • In this paper, Partial Discharge(PD) patterns are compared by means of Low Frequency PD(LFPD, based on the IEC 270) and recently proposed High Frequency PD(HFPD). For this purpose, three different types of artificial defects are provided such as corona in air, void in epoxy insulator and needle defect in XLPE cable insulation. PD were generated from each defect and then detected respectively by two different methods such as LFPD and HFPD. As a result, remarkable resemblance in PD pattern for differ detecting method have been observed from each defect. Accordingly, it could be deduced that the pattern recognition by LFPD could be regarded as the reference for the investigations by HFPD.

  • CF₄ molecular gas is used in most of semiconductor manufacture processing and SF/sub 6/ molecular gas is widely used in industrial of insulation field. but both of gases have defect in global warming. C₃F/sub 8/ gas has large attachment cross-section more than these gases, moreover GWP, life-time and price of C₃F/sub 8/ gas is lower than them, therefor it is important to calculate transport coefficients of C₃F/sub 8/ gas like electron drift velocity, ionization coefficient, attachment coefficient, effective ionization coefficient and critical E/N. The aim of this study is to get these transport coefficients for imformation of the insulation strength and efficiency of etching process. In this paper, we calculated the electron drift velocity (W) in pure C₃F/sub 8/ molecular gas over the range of E/N=0.1∼250 Td at the temperature was 300 K and gas pressure was 1 Torr by the Boltzmann equation method. The results of this paper can be important data to present characteristic of gas for plasma etching and insulation, specially critical E/N is a data to evaluate insulation strength of a gas.

  • For investigation of electrical properties of XLPE cable termination, we prepared a thermal contraction type kit and 6.6kV XLPE cable. The cable termination that have simulated defect by badness construction have been manufactured and their insulation characteristics such as ac and impulse withstand test have been measured. The influence of defects such as thickness decrease and heating time have been studied. When thickness decreased 1mm, the decreased of AC breakdown voltage value is not very distinctive. However, when thickness decreased 2mm, the insulation AC breakdown voltage value was very low down to 43kV. When approved heat for 300s than 60s, AC Breakdown voltage value appeared high. And also, after insulation breakdown took place, the sample was observed before and after disassembly, and the insulation breakdown hole was observed by means of optical microscope.

  • Insulation aging diagnosis system provides early warning regarding electrical equipment defect. Early warning is very important in that it can avoid great losses resulting from unexpected shutdown of the production line. Since relations of insulation aging and partial discharge dynamics are non-linear, it is very difficult to provide early warning in an electrical equipment. In this paper, we propose the design method of insulation aging diagnosis system that use a magnetic wave and acoustic signal to diagnoses an electrical equipment. Proposed system measures the partial discharge on-line from DAS(Data Acquisition System) and acquires 2D Patterns from analyzing it. For fettering the noise contained in sensor signals we used ICA algorithms. Using this data design of the neuro-fuzzy model that diagnoses an electrical equipment is investigated. Validity of the new method is asserted by numerical simulation.

  • This study analyzed the major issues of 24 defect litigation precedents before and after 2013, based on 2013, when defect litigation in relation to the rapidly increasing defect disputes in apartment houses. The amount of defect removal per household is 2,572 thousand won per household, which is about 5% less than before 2013 from 2013, but the judgment amount per household has rather increased by about 19%, showing 1,916 thousand won per household after 2013. By type of construction, defects on cracks accounted for the largest proportion before and after 2013. Before 2013, equipment, tiles, and windows appeared in the order, and after 2013, landscaping, tiles, insulation and window work were in the order. In order to prevent such defect disputes, efforts to prevent defect disputes will be needed in the design stage, construction stage, and maintenance stage.

Defect Detection of Ceramic Heating Plate Using Ultrasound Pulse Thermography (초음파 펄스 서모그라피를 이용한 세라믹 전열 판의 결함 검출)

  • The applicability of UPT (Ultrasound Pulse Thermography) for real-time defect detection of the ceramic heating plate is described. The ceramic heating plate with superior insulation and high radiation is used to control the water temperature in underwater environment. The underwater temperature control system can be damaged owing to the short circuit, which resulted from the defect of the ceramic heating plate. A high power ultrasonic energy with pulse duration of 280 ms was injected into the ceramic heating plate in the vertical direction. The ultrasound excited vibration energy sent into the component propagate inside the sample until they were converted to the heat in the vicinity of the defect. Therefore, an injection of the ultrasound pulse wave which results in heat generation, turns the defect into a local thermal wave transmitter. Its local emission is monitored and recorded via the thermal infrared camera at the surface which is processed by image recording system. Measurements were Performed on 4 kinds of samples, composed of 3 intact plates and the defect plate. The observed thermal image revealed two area of crack in the defective ceramic heating plate.

  • PT of epoxy mold type have tendency to occur dielectric breakdown in high voltage system. These are using for measurement of voltage or protection of system and application voltage is 25.8kV. Therefore, for improving a lots of problems like as partial discharge, we had analyze on the destroyed Epoxy molded type PT and processing of production. As a results, we concluded that the reason of dielectric breakdown was defect of processing and degradation of insulation by electrical stress. In this work, We presented a method of solution in processing of production. which is reduction of the PO which was occurred at the insulation material. so we must many try to remove faults, these problems are mainly to winding methods of 1st coil. the other side, Reformation of 1st coil improved property of PD and we could prove it with experiments.

Analysis of Partial Discharge in High Voltage Motor Model Coils (고압전동기 모델 코일에서 부분방전 분석)

  • Five model coils of 6.6 kV motor were manufactured with several defects. These stator coils have artificial defects such as void of groundwall insulation, removal of semi-conductive coating and damage of strand insulation. Epoxy-mica coupler(80 pF) was connected to five model coil terminals. The voltage applied to the coils was 3.81 kV, 4.76 kV, 6.0 kV and 6.6 kV, respectively. Partial discharge(PD) tests performed in the laboratory and shield room. Digital PD detector(PDD) and turbine generator analyzer(TGA) were used to measure PD activity. TGA summarizes each plot with two quantities such as the normalized quantity number(NQN) and the peak PD magnitude(Qm). The PD levels in pC were measured with PDD. PD patterns of model coils were indicated the internal and slot discharges. PD patterns are consistent with the result of measurement using PDD and TGA instruments. AC breakdown test was performed on five model coils in order to confirm the result of PD measurements. All the failures were located in a line-end coil at the exit from the core slot.

  • In this work, the surface of inorganic fillers were modified with some functional groups such as stearic acid, aliphatic long chain, vinylsilane and aminosilane to control the interaction between inorganic fillers and polymer matrix. Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA) with various amount of vinyl-acetate content and copolyether-ester elastomer were used as polymer matrix. The addition of inorganic fillers increases flame retardancy, but results in steep drop of electrical and mechanical properties, which may be caused by the defect in the interface between organic/inorganic hybrid composites. The hybrid composites are found to show better mechanical properties and higher volume resistivities as inorganic fillers are well dispersed and have good adhesion with polymer matrix. Also, the most effective type of functional group coated on fillers depends on the chemical structure of polymer.
