The burden of injury is widely considered to be very severe in our society. Nonetheless, we don't have enough data for injury surveillance. The objective of this research is to select and supplement CORE DATA for injury surveillance. For this purpose, this study had analyzed the literature such as the Quality Assessment Report about 'Causes of Death Statistics', 'Health Insurance Statistics' and 'Hospital Discharge Injury Surveillance' according to the six dimension of Statistics Quality. The analysis result is that 'Cause of Death Statistics' and 'Health Insurance Statistics' have the usefulness as the CORE DATA for injury surveillance. But there is a significant shortcoming in the Health Insurance Statistics, which is that there is a lack of the data about the external causes of injury. For supplementing the defect, this study proposes the system that the medical institutions should obligatorily report the external causes of injury when claim National Health Insurance Medical Care Expenses. As the results of this system, we can expect 'Establishing of Injury pyramid', 'Data Connecting with the National Pension' and 'Improving the Promptness of Injury Data'. And we expect the follow-up study for the realization of this system.

The aim of this study was to compare periodontal conditions around mesially tipped molars by a tipping degree. Patients who had been consecutively treated at the Department of Periodontology, Chonbuk National University Hospital from October 1999 to August 2001 were assessed with radiographs taken at their molar regions. Of all molars investigated, 142 molars of 116 patients tipped mesially more than 10 degrees to the line perpendicular to an occlusal plane were selected for the study. The tipped molars were divided into 2 groups with a reference to a tipping degree, i.e., 66 slightly tipped(group 1 : <$30^{\circ}$) and 76 severely tipped molars (group 2 : ${\geq}30^{\circ}$). Probing depth(PD), plaque retention index(PRI) at mesial surfaces of tipped molars and tooth mobility(TM) were recorded at the clinical examination. Tipping degree(TD) and alveolar bony defect(ABD) at the mesial surface of the molars were measured in a radiograph. The results showed that no statistical differences were found between groups in all measured variables. In Pearson correlation analysis performed in the same group, a positive relationship was shown between PRI and PD in the group 1 and, in the group 2, between PRI and PD as well as PRI and ABD(p < 0.01). However, no statistically significant relationship was found between TD and all other variables in both groups. Within limitations of this study, it may be concluded that tipping degree did not seem to influence periodontal conditions, i.e., PD, ABD and TM of mesially tipped molars per se, but plaque presence/absence seemed to mainly affect the periodontal conditions of the tipped molars.
The present study evaluates the effects of calcium sulfate and DFDB on alveolar bone regeneration and cementum formation and connective tissue adhesion in intrabony angulated 1 wall defects of dogs. Four millimeter-deep angulated one-wall intrabony defects were surgically created in the mesial & distal aspects of premolars and with flap operaion alone(control group), with calcium sulfate(experimental group 1), with composit graft of 50% calcium sulfate and 50% DFDB(experimental group 2), with DFDB alone(experimental group 3). Histologic analysis following 8 weeks of healing revealed the following results: 1. The lengths of connective tissue adhesion was $1.05{\pm}0.48mm$ in the control, $1.30{\pm}0.67mm$ in the test group I, $0.97{\pm}0.22mm$ in the test group II and $0.93{\pm}0.15mm$ in the test group III. There was no statistical significance between control and all experimental groups. 2. Changes in alveolar bone level was $0.97{\pm}0.27mm$ in the control group, $1.45{\pm}0.42mm$ in the test group I, $2.00{\pm}0.33mm$ in the test group II, $1.88{\pm}0.34mm$ in the test group III. There was no statistically significant difference between control and experimental group I. There was a statistically significant difference between the control and experimental group II,III.(p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between all experimental group. 3. Cementum formation was $1.13{\pm}0.17mm$ in the control, $1.78{\pm}0.31mm$ in the test group I, $2.17{\pm}0.38mm$ in the test group II, $2.15{\pm}0.47mm$ in the test group III with statistically significant differences between control group and all experimental group(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant differences between all experimental group. These results suggest that the use of composit graft of 50% calcium sulfate and 50% DFDB and DFDB alone in angulated 1 wall intrabony defects has little effects on connective tissue adhesion, but has significant effects on new bone and new cementum formations.
This study is aimed to identify the method to use the CaO-$Al_2O_3$ system of rapidly cooled steel making slag (RCSS) as the environment-friendly inorganic accelerating agent by analyzing its physical and chemical properties. The fraction of rapidly cooled steel making slag is distinguished from its fibrous, and the contents of CaO and $Fe_2O_3$ are inversely proportional across different fractions. In addition, as the content of CaO decreased and the content of $Fe_2O_3$ increased, the loss ignition tended to become negative (-) and the density increased. The pore distribution by mercury intrusion porosimetry is very low as compared to the slowly cooled steel-making slag, which indicates that the internal defect and the microspore rate are remarkably lowered by the rapid cooling. To analyze the major minerals the rapidly cooled steel-making slag, XRD, f-CaO quantification and SEM-EDAX analysis have been performed. The results shows that f-CaO does not exist, and the components are mainly consisted of $C_{12}A_7$ and reactive ${\beta}-C_2S$.

In spite of the ongoing advances, standard therapies for oral cancer still has some limitations in efficacy and in ability to prolong survival rate of advanced disease and result in significant functional defect and severe cosmetic deformity. Currently gene therapy using tumor suppressor gene is considered as a potent candidate for new therapeutic approaches that can improve efficacy and reduce complications. The purpose of this research is to identify the role of adenoviral vector to transfer HCCS-1 tumor suppressor gene in oral cancer cells and to find out whether there is a possibility for it to serve in the field of gene therapy. The human SCC-25 cell line was used for transfection. To determine the efficiency of the adenovirus as a gene delivery vector cell line was transduced with LacZ gene and analysed with X-gal staining. Northern blot was performed to confirm the tranfection with HSCC-1 gene and cell viability was assessed by cell cytotoxicity assay. We had successfully construct the recombinant HSCC-1 adenovirus(Ad5CMV-HCCS-1). DNA extracted from Ad5CMV-HCCS-1 revealed HCCS-1 gene is incorporated. The transduction efficiencies were over than 50% of SCC-25 cells with a MOI of 2 and over 95% with a MOI of 50. Northern blot analysis showed that a single 0.6kb mRNA transcript was expressed in Ad5CMV-HCCS-1 transduced SCC-25 cells. There was no or very low transcription HCCS-1 mRNA in wild and Ad5CMV-LacZ transduced SCC-25 cells. Cells transduced with Ad5CMV-HCCS-1 showed significant growth inhibition. By day 6, Ad5CMV-HCCS-1 treated cell count was decreased to 30% of mock-infected cells, while that of Ad5CMV-LacZ treated cells was 90% of mock-infected cells (p<0.05). Finally, these result suggest that the Ad5CMV-HCCS-1 has potential as a gene therapy tool for oral cancer.

This study was carried out to analyze the problems on several steps of the establishment of the Nature Ecological Forest in Yeouido Park, Seoul, and also to suggest improved approaches on each step. For execution drawing, planting models and plans seemed to be uncertain, and the quantity and size of planting trees seemed to be impractical. For construction, the woody plants planted on the site were different in species and size from the planting plan. Ecological planting was somewhat limited because of the inappropriate soil properties. For management, replacement of the dead trees was not executed properly, and no management scheme was prepared after the replacement period. We suggested improved approaches for the establishment of ecological forests in urban areas as follows: for execution drawing, overstory, understory and herbaceous ground cover layers should be composed based on standard plant community structures. Trees that are available from tree markets should be specified in the planting plan. For construction, trees for planting need to be tagged to identify species and size. When tree species and size are changed, they should be checked to ensure that they are proper to the plant community model. Soil information should be collected to check that they fit the target plant community model. For management, the proper amount of trees needs to be specified in the planting plan by applying regular discount rates, especially for trees supplied from the government sector. The replacement period should be extended from two years to five years. The change of plant communities should be monitored during first five years after establishment.

Most of the properties of ITO films depend on their substrate nature, deposition techniques and ITO film composition. For the display panel application, it is normally deposited on the glass substrate which has high strain point (>575 degree) and must be deposited at a temperature higher than $250^{\circ}C$ and then annealed at a temperature higher than $300^{\circ}C$ in order to high optical transmittance in the visible region, low reactivity and chemical duration. But the high strain point glass (HSPG) used as FPDs is blocking popularization of large sizes FPDs because it is more expensive than a soda lime glass (SLG). If the SLG could be used as substrate for FPDs, then diffusion of Na ion from the substrate occurs into the ITO films during annealing or heat treatment on manufacturing process and it affects the properties. Therefore proper care should be followed to minimize Na ion diffusion. In this study, we investigate the electrical, optical and structural properties of ITO films deposited on the SLG and the Asahi glass(PD200) substrate by rf magnetron sputtering using a ceramic target ($In_2O_3:SnO_2$, 90:10wt.%). These films were annealed in $N_2$ and air atmosphere at $400^{\circ}C$ for 20min, 1hr, and 2hrs. ITO films deposited on the SLG show a high electrical resistivity and structural defect as compared with those deposited on the PD200 due to the Na ion from the SLG on diffuse to the ITO film by annealing. However these properties can be improved by introducing a barrier layer of $SiO_2$ or $Al_2O_3$ between ITO film and the SLG substrate. The characteristics of films were examined by the 4-point probe, FE-SEM, UV-VIS spectrometer, and X-ray diffraction. SIMS analysis confirmed that barrier layer inhibited Na ion diffusion from the SLG.

A modular specification is a contract document that specifies the requirements of production, transformation and installation in a modular construction. A problem of the currently used specification is that it does not guarantee the level of performance required by the modular construction and fails to accommodate unique characteristics of each construction because it widely uses the standard specification as it is. This study proposes a specification that reflects the unique feature of modular construction in order to improve the quality of modular construction. Research focuses on the leakage in waterproof and mechanical equipment because it is the area with the highest rate of defects. This study suggests ways to improve the modular specification as follows: 1)Descriptive specifying (following MasterFormat) 2)Propose leakage verification method and test clause 3) Reflect characteristic of modular construction. Proposed modifications to modular specification are reviewed by experts for validation and their opinion verifies suggested improvements as a way to secure the quality of modular construction and to promise characteristics of the modular specification. This improvement will be used for reference when writing construction project specification, which can be an important contract document, so that it could lower occurrence rate of the modular defects.
Nowadays, GPS-photogrammetry can be applied to the basemap production, a land register and NGIS. And from now on, as the increase of GPS receiver rate, the study on the interpolation methods considering the exact movement of an aircraft at photoflight and the study on the supplement of GPS defect by INS are required continuously. GPS-Photogrammetry, which are based on the direct measurement of the projection centers and attitude at the moment of camera exposure time through loading the GPS receiver in aircraft. This photogrammetric methods can of for us to acquire the exterior orientation parameters with only minimum ground control points, even the ground control process could be completely skipped. Consequently, we can drastically reduce the time and cost far the mapping process. In this thesis, two test flights were conducted in area to evaluate the performance of accuracy and efficiency through the analysis of results between the two photogrammetric methods, that is, traditional photograrammetry, GPS-Photogrammetry. Test results shows that a large variety of advantages of GPS-Photogrammetry against traditional photogrammetry is to be verified. Especially, the number of ground control points for the exterior orientation could be saved more than 70~80%, and the cost far map production 30~50%, respectively. In addition, it was convinced that the large reduction of control points has not any effect on the block accuracy.

Styela clava, called non-native tunicate or sea squirt, is habitat which include bays and harbors in Korea and several sites in the sea faced world. We fabricate cellulose membrane nerve conduit (CMNC) from this native sea squirt skin, and evaluate the capacity of promoting peripheral nerve regeneration in the rat sciatic nerve defect model. After processing the pure cellulose membrane from the sea squirt skin as we already published before, CMNC was designed as a non-tubular sheet with 14 mm length and 4 mm width. Total eleven male Spraque-Dawley rats (12 weeks, weighing 250 to 300g) were divided into sham group (n=2), silicone tube grafted control group (n=3) and experimental group (n=6). Each CMNC grafted nerve was evaluated after 4, 8 and 12 weeks in the experimental group, and after 12 weeks, sciatic function was evaluated with sciatic function index (SFI) and gait analysis, and histomorphology of nerve conduit and the innervated tissues of sciatic nerve were all examined using image analyzer and electromicroscopic methods in the all groups. The regenerated axon and nerve sheath were found only in the inner surface of the CMNC after 4 weeks and became more thicker after 8 and 12 weeks. In the TEM study, CMNC grafted group showed more abundant organized myelinated nerve fibers with thickened extracellular matrix than silicone conduit grafted group after 12 weeks. The sciatic function index (SFI) and ankle stance angle (ASA) in the functional evaluation were $-47.2{\pm}3.9$, $35.5^{\circ}{\pm}4.9^{\circ}$ in CMNC grafted group (n=2) and $-80.4{\pm}7.4$, $29.2^{\circ}{\pm}5.3^{\circ}$ in silicone conduit grafted group (n=3), respectively. And the myelinated axon was 41.59% in CMNC group and 9.51% in silicone conduit group to the sham group. The development of a bioactive CMNC to replace autogenous nerve grafts offers a potential and available approach to improved peripheral nerve regeneration. As we already published before, small peptide fragment derived from the basement membrane matrix proteins of squirt skin, which is a kind of anchoring protein composed of glycocalyx, induced the effective axonal regeneration with rapid growth of Schwann cells beneath the inner surface of CMNC. So the possibilities of clinical application as a peripheral nerve regeneration will be able to be suggested.
