Landslides are one of the most prevalent natural disasters, threating both humans and property. Also landslides can cause damage at the national level, so effective prediction and prevention are essential. Research to produce a landslide susceptibility map with high accuracy is steadily being conducted, and various models have been applied to landslide susceptibility analysis. Pixel-based machine learning models such as frequency ratio models, logistic regression models, ensembles models, and Artificial Neural Networks have been mainly applied. Recent studies have shown that the kernel-based convolutional neural network (CNN) technique is effective and that the spatial characteristics of input data have a significant effect on the accuracy of landslide susceptibility mapping. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to analyze landslide vulnerability using a pixel-based deep neural network model and a patch-based convolutional neural network model. The research area was set up in Gangwon-do, including Inje, Gangneung, and Pyeongchang, where landslides occurred frequently and damaged. Landslide-related factors include slope, curvature, stream power index (SPI), topographic wetness index (TWI), topographic position index (TPI), timber diameter, timber age, lithology, land use, soil depth, soil parent material, lineament density, fault density, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and normalized difference water index (NDWI) were used. Landslide-related factors were built into a spatial database through data preprocessing, and landslide susceptibility map was predicted using deep neural network (DNN) and CNN models. The model and landslide susceptibility map were verified through average precision (AP) and root mean square errors (RMSE), and as a result of the verification, the patch-based CNN model showed 3.4% improved performance compared to the pixel-based DNN model. The results of this study can be used to predict landslides and are expected to serve as a scientific basis for establishing land use policies and landslide management policies.

In this paper, we consider the non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique in the heterogeneous network (HetNET) consisting of a single macro base station (BS) and multiple small BSs, where the perfect successive interference cancellation is assumed for the NOMA signals. In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based user association and power allocation scheme to maximize the data rate in the NOMA-based HetNET. In particular, the proposed scheme includes the deep neural network (DNN)-based user association process for load balancing and the DNN-based power allocation process for data-rate maximization. Through the simulation assuming path loss and Rayleigh fading channels between BSs and users, the performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated, and it is compared with the conventional maximum signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (Max-SINR) scheme. Through the performance comparison, we show that the proposed scheme provides better sum rate performance than the conventional Max-SINR scheme.
In this study, we propose a new $PM_{10}$ forecasting model for Seoul region using DNN(Deep Neural Network) and secondary data. The previous numerical and Julian forecast model have been developed using primary data such as weather and air quality measurements. These models give excellent results for accuracy and false alarms, but POD is not good for the daily life usage. To solve this problem, we develop four secondary factors composed with primary data, which reflect the correlations between primary factors and high $PM_{10}$ concentrations. The proposed 4 models are A(Anomaly), BT(Back trajectory), CB(Contribution), CS(Cosine similarity), and ALL(model using all 4 secondary data). Among them, model ALL shows the best performance in all indicators, especially the PODs are improved.

In this paper, we propose a smoothed received signal strength indicator (RSSI)-based distance estimation using deep neural network (DNN) for accurate distance estimation in an environment where a single receiver is used. The proposed scheme performs a data preprocessing consisting of data splitting, missing value imputation, and smoothing steps to improve distance estimation accuracy, thereby deriving the smoothed RSSI values. The derived smoothed RSSI values are used as input data of the Multi-Input Single-Output (MISO) DNN model, and are finally returned as an estimated distance in the output layer through input layer and hidden layer. To verify the superiority of the proposed scheme, we compared the performance of the proposed scheme with that of the linear regression-based distance estimation scheme. As a result, the proposed scheme showed 29.09% higher distance estimation accuracy than the linear regression-based distance estimation scheme.
Recently, research on behavior analysis tracking human posture and movement has been actively conducted. In particular, OpenPose, an open-source software developed by CMU in 2017, is a representative method for estimating human appearance and behavior. OpenPose can detect and estimate various body parts of a person, such as height, face, and hands in real-time, making it applicable to various fields such as smart healthcare, exercise training, security systems, and medical fields. In this paper, we propose a method for classifying four exercise movements - Squat, Walk, Wave, and Fall-down - which are most commonly performed by users in the gym, using OpenPose-based deep learning models, DNN and CNN. The training data is collected by capturing the user's movements through recorded videos and real-time camera captures. The collected dataset undergoes preprocessing using OpenPose. The preprocessed dataset is then used to train the proposed DNN and CNN models for exercise movement classification. The performance errors of the proposed models are evaluated using MSE, RMSE, and MAE. The performance evaluation results showed that the proposed DNN model outperformed the proposed CNN model.
The purpose of this study establishes the deep neural network (DNN) and Decoder models to predict the flow and thermal fields of three-dimensional wavy wings as a passive flow control. The wide ranges of the wavy geometric parameters of wave amplitude and wave number are considered for the various the angles of attack and the aspect ratios of a wing. The huge dataset for training and test of the deep learning models are generated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The DNN and Decoder models exhibit quantitatively accurate predictions for aerodynamic coefficients and Nusselt numbers, also qualitative pressure, limiting streamlines, and Nusselt number distributions on the surface. Particularly, Decoder model regenerates the important flow features of tiny vortices in the valleys, which makes a delay of the stall. Also, the spiral vortical formation is realized by the Decoder model, which enhances the lift.
To increase building change recognition accuracy, we present a deep learning-based building change detection using remote sensing images. In the proposed approach, by merging pixel-level and object-level information of multitemporal remote sensing images, we create the difference image (DI), and the frequency-domain significance technique is used to generate the DI saliency map. The fuzzy C-means clustering technique pre-classifies the coarse change detection map by defining the DI saliency map threshold. We then extract the neighborhood features of the unchanged pixels and the changed (buildings) from pixel-level and object-level feature images, which are then used as valid deep neural network (DNN) training samples. The trained DNNs are then utilized to identify changes in DI. The suggested strategy was evaluated and compared to current detection methods using two datasets. The results suggest that our proposed technique can detect more building change information and improve change detection accuracy.

In this paper, a deep neural network(DNN) model for predicting the vibration characteristics of the composite rotor blade with c-spar cross section was developed. Herein, the present DNN model is defined by using the natural frequencies obtained through the in-house code based on the nonlinear co-rotational(CR) shell element. For the present DNN model, the accuracy of the model was evaluated via the data with a random distribution of thickness and a tendency to decrease in thickness along the blade span.

Deep Neural Network (DNN) is a large layered neural network which is consisted of a number of layers of non-linear units. Deep Learning which represented as DNN has been applied very successfully in various applications. However, many issues in DNN have been identified through past researches. Among these issues, generalization is the most well-known problem. A Recent study, Dropout, successfully addressed this problem. Also, Dropout plays a role as noise, and so it helps to learn robust feature during learning in DNN such as Denoising AutoEncoder. However, because of a large computations required in Dropout, training takes a lot of time. Since Dropout keeps changing an inter-layer representation during the training session, the learning rates should be small, which makes training time longer. In this paper, using mutation operation, we reduce computation and improve generalization performance compared with Dropout. Also, we experimented proposed method to compare with Dropout method and showed that our method is superior to the Dropout one.

In the paper, we propose a TSCH-based scheduling scheme for IEEE 802.15.4e, which is able to perform the scheduling of its own network by avoiding collision from interference network cluster (INC). Firstly, we model a bipartite graph structure for presenting the slot-frame (channel-slot assignment) of TSCH. Then, based on the bipartite graph edge weight, we utilize the Hungarian assignment algorithm to implement a scheduling scheme. We have employed two features (maximization and minimization) of the Hungarian-based assignment algorithm, which can perform the assignment in terms of minimizing the throughput of INC and maximizing the throughput of own network. Further, in this work, we called the scheme "dual-stage Hungarian-based assignment algorithm". Furthermore, we also propose deep learning (DL) based deep neural network (DNN)scheme, where the data were generated by the dual-stage Hungarian-based assignment algorithm. The performance of the DNN scheme is evaluated by simulations. The simulation results prove that the proposed DNN scheme providessimilar performance to the dual-stage Hungarian-based assignment algorithm while providing a low execution time.
