The aim of current work is to evaluate thermo-electrical characteristics of graphene nanoplatelets Reinforced Composite (GNPRC) coupled with magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) face sheet. In this regard, a cylindrical smart nanocomposite made of GNPRC with an external MEE layer is considered. The bonding between the layers are assumed to be perfect. Because of the layer nature of the structure, the material characteristics of the whole structure is regarded as graded. Both mechanical and thermal boundary conditions are applied to this structure. The main objective of this work is to determine critical temperature and critical voltage as a function of thermal condition, support type, GNP weight fraction, and MEE thickness. The governing equation of the multilayer nanocomposites cylindrical shell is derived. The generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM) is employed to numerically solve the differential equations. This method is integrated with Deep Learning Network (DNN) with ADADELTA optimizer to determine the critical conditions of the current sandwich structure. This the first time that effects of several conditions including surrounding temperature, MEE layer thickness, and pattern of the layers of the GNPRC is investigated on two main parameters critical temperature and critical voltage of the nanostructure. Furthermore, Maxwell equation is derived for modeling of the MEE. The outcome reveals that MEE layer, temperature change, GNP weight function, and GNP distribution patterns GNP weight function have significant influence on the critical temperature and voltage of cylindrical shell made from GNP nanocomposites core with MEE face sheet on outer of the shell.
In this study, we tried to improve the performance of the existing U-net-based deep learning rainfall prediction model, which can weaken the meaning of time series order. For this, ConvLSTM2D U-Net structure model considering temporal consistency of data was applied, and we evaluated accuracy of the ConvLSTM2D U-Net model using a RainNet model and an extrapolation-based advection model. In addition, we tried to improve the uncertainty in the model training process by performing learning not only with a single model but also with 10 ensemble models. The trained neural network rainfall prediction model was optimized to generate 10-minute advance prediction data using four consecutive data of the past 30 minutes from the present. The results of deep learning rainfall prediction models are difficult to identify schematically distinct differences, but with ConvLSTM2D U-Net, the magnitude of the prediction error is the smallest and the location of rainfall is relatively accurate. In particular, the ensemble ConvLSTM2D U-Net showed high CSI, low MAE, and a narrow error range, and predicted rainfall more accurately and stable prediction performance than other models. However, the prediction performance for a specific point was very low compared to the prediction performance for the entire area, and the deep learning rainfall prediction model also had limitations. Through this study, it was confirmed that the ConvLSTM2D U-Net neural network structure to account for the change of time could increase the prediction accuracy, but there is still a limitation of the convolution deep neural network model due to spatial smoothing in the strong rainfall region or detailed rainfall prediction.
The pipe bends and elbows in nuclear power plants (NPPs) are vulnerable to degradation mechanisms and can cause wall-thinning defects. As it is difficult to detect both the defects generated inside the wall-thinned pipes and the preliminary signs, the wall-thinning defects should be accurately estimated to maintain the integrity of NPPs. This paper proposes a deep fuzzy neural network (DFNN) method and estimates the collapse moment of wall-thinned pipe bends and elbows. The proposed model has a simplified structure in which the fuzzy neural network module is repeatedly connected, and it is optimized using the least squares method and genetic algorithm. Numerical data obtained through simulations on the pipe bends and elbows with extrados, intrados, and crown defects were applied to the DFNN model to estimate the collapse moment. The acquired databases were divided into training, optimization, and test datasets and used to train and verify the estimation model. Consequently, the relative root mean square (RMS) errors of the estimated collapse moment at all the defect locations were within 0.25% for the test data. Such a low RMS error indicates that the DFNN model is accurate in estimating the collapse moment for wall-thinned pipe bends and elbows.

The frequency of reactor coolant leakage is expected to increase over the lifetime of a nuclear power plant owing to degradation mechanisms, such as flow-acceleration corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. When loss of coolant accidents (LOCAs) occur, several parameters change rapidly depending on the size and location of the cracks. In this study, leak flow during LOCAs is predicted using a deep fuzzy neural network (DFNN) model. The DFNN model is based on fuzzy neural network (FNN) modules and has a structure where the FNN modules are sequentially connected. Because the DFNN model is based on the FNN modules, the performance factors are the number of FNN modules and the parameters of the FNN module. These parameters are determined by a least-squares method combined with a genetic algorithm; the number of FNN modules is determined automatically by cross checking a fitness function using the verification dataset output to prevent an overfitting problem. To acquire the data of LOCAs, an optimized power reactor-1000 was simulated using a modular accident analysis program code. The predicted results of the DFNN model are found to be superior to those predicted in previous works. The leak flow prediction results obtained in this study will be useful to check the core integrity in nuclear power plant during LOCAs. This information is also expected to reduce the workload of the operators.

Deep generative models target to infer the underlying true data distribution, and it leads to a huge success in generating fake-but-realistic data. Regarding such a perspective, the data attributes can be a crucial factor in the data generation process since non-existent counterfactual samples can be generated by altering certain factors. For example, we can generate new portrait images by flipping the gender attribute or altering the hair color attributes. This paper proposes counterfactual disentangled variational autoencoder generative adversarial networks (CDVAE-GAN), specialized for data attribute level counterfactual data generation. The structure of the proposed CDVAE-GAN consists of variational autoencoders and generative adversarial networks. Specifically, we adopt a Gaussian variational autoencoder to extract low-dimensional disentangled data features and auxiliary Bernoulli latent variables to model the data attributes separately. Also, we utilize a generative adversarial network to generate data with high fidelity. By enjoying the benefits of the variational autoencoder with the additional Bernoulli latent variables and the generative adversarial network, the proposed CDVAE-GAN can control the data attributes, and it enables producing counterfactual data. Our experimental result on the CelebA dataset qualitatively shows that the generated samples from CDVAE-GAN are realistic. Also, the quantitative results support that the proposed model can produce data that can deceive other machine learning classifiers with the altered data attributes.

The pandemic of Covid-19 (Coronavirus Disease 19) has devastated the world, affected millions of people, and disrupted the world economy. The cause of the Covid19 epidemic has been identified as a new variant known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV2). It motives irritation of a small air sac referred to as the alveoli. The alveoli make up most of the tissue in the lungs and fill the sac with mucus. Most human beings with Covid19 usually do no longer improve pneumonia. However, chest x-rays of seriously unwell sufferers can be a useful device for medical doctors in diagnosing Covid19-both CT and X-ray exhibit usual patterns of frosted glass (GGO) and consolidation. The introduction of deep getting to know and brand new imaging helps radiologists and medical practitioners discover these unnatural patterns and pick out Covid19-infected chest x-rays. This venture makes use of a new deep studying structure proposed to diagnose Covid19 by the use of chest X-rays. The suggested model in this work aims to predict and forecast the patients at risk and identify the primary COVID-19 risk variables

The deployment of sensors for Structural Health Monitoring requires a complicated network arrangement, ground truthing, and calibration for validating sensor performance periodically. Any conventional sensor on a structural element is also subjected to static and dynamic vertical loadings in conjunction with other environmental factors, such as brightness, noise, temperature, and humidity. A structural model with strain gauges was built and tested to get realistic sensory information. This paper investigates different deep learning architectures and algorithms, including unsupervised, autoencoder, and supervised methods, to benchmark blind drift calibration methods using deep learning. It involves a fully connected neural network (FCNN), a long short-term memory (LSTM), and a gated recurrent unit (GRU) to address the blind drift calibration problem (i.e., performing calibrations of installed sensors when ground truth is not available). The results show that the supervised methods perform much better than unsupervised methods, such as an autoencoder, when ground truths are available. Furthermore, taking advantage of time-series information, the GRU model generates the most precise predictions to remove the drift overall.
Deep artificial neural network with transfer learning is applied to compressed sensing cardiovascular MRI. Transfer learning is a method that utilizes structure, filter kernels, and weights of the network used in prior learning for current learning or application. The transfer learning is useful in accelerating learning speed, and in generalization of the neural network when learning data is limited. From a cardiac MRI experiment, with 8 healthy volunteers, the neural network with transfer learning was able to reduce learning time by a factor of more than five compared to that with standalone learning. Using test data set, reconstructed images with transfer learning showed lower normalized mean square error and better image quality compared to those without transfer learning.

In recent years, popularity of deep learning (DL) is increased due to its ability to extract features from Hyperspectral images. A lack of discrimination power in the features produced by traditional machine learning algorithms has resulted in poor classification results. It's also a study topic to find out how to get excellent classification results with limited samples without getting overfitting issues in hyperspectral images (HSIs). These issues can be addressed by utilising a new learning network structure developed in this study.EfficientNet-B4-Based Convolutional network (EN-B4), which is why it is critical to maintain a constant ratio between the dimensions of network resolution, width, and depth in order to achieve a balance. The weight of the proposed model is optimized by Search and Rescue Operations (SRO), which is inspired by the explorations carried out by humans during search and rescue processes. Tests were conducted on two datasets to verify the efficacy of EN-B4, with Indian Pines (IP) and the University of Pavia (UP) dataset. Experiments show that EN-B4 outperforms other state-of-the-art approaches in terms of classification accuracy.

The MobileNetV3 is specially designed for mobile devices with limited memory and computing power. To reduce the network parameters and improve the network inference speed, a new lightweight network is proposed based on MobileNetV3. Firstly, to reduce the computation of residual blocks, a partial residual structure is designed by dividing the input feature maps into two parts. The designed partial residual structure is used to replace the residual block in MobileNetV3. Secondly, a dual-path feature extraction structure is designed to further reduce the computation of MobileNetV3. Different convolution kernel sizes are used in the two paths to extract feature maps with different sizes. Besides, a transition layer is also designed for fusing features to reduce the influence of the new structure on accuracy. The CIFAR-100 dataset and Image Net dataset are used to test the performance of the proposed partial residual structure. The ResNet based on the proposed partial residual structure has smaller parameters and FLOPs than the original ResNet. The performance of improved MobileNetV3 is tested on CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100 and ImageNet image classification task dataset. Comparing MobileNetV3, GhostNet and MobileNetV2, the improved MobileNetV3 has smaller parameters and FLOPs. Besides, the improved MobileNetV3 is also tested on CPU and Raspberry Pi. It is faster than other networks
