The first issue was concerning the subject to provide students with an understanding of the principle of light its concept mental factors etc and with the observation and analysis of the light of an object and its form which is the process for designers to be able to deal with the deeper design concept by complementing the setting of necessary concept. The second issue was concerning the process of basic learning about basic electricity and lighting that lighting designers or interior decoration and architecture designer should have such as the introduction of light in kind of light source lighting system and so forth. The third issue was focused on practical affairs such as design and expression techniques the calculation of illumination using the computer simulation and so on. In addition such issues as the history of lighting photograph and its linkage with the field of engineering about new material ware addressed.

This study is concerned on the decorating design and method of handrail of the old residential houses. The method of studying is proceeding to select and survey the houses identified as the cultural properties that have the value of heritage in the handrail design. The conclusion as following ; Handrail play not only functional part but embellished part. The wood Handrails can be classified in two styles ; One "pyung"(평) style, another "keja"(계자) style. The former is composed of straight lines which looks simple. On the other hand, the latter contains the elavorated decoration which gives solid beauty. In conclusion, the characteristic of the handrail in Korean structure is found in the changing the sense of the lineal and curve beauty into the symmetrical line, and is fund in the variety of the high qualified details. Over its esthetic senses, the residents'hope and need for the goodness such as good omen, rich longevity and getting boys and formed as passive symbolic world, and the auspicious signed letters and the geometric and natural forms of plants, are expressed upon the decorating design of handrail. design of handrail.

Architecture is changing rapidly with contact of various cultures and development of modern technology and it is also becoming Polycentric. We can look at the tendency of deconstruction that denies logical rationality of modernism and minimalism that is known as a vertex of modernism. This kind of flow appears to be one of tendencies of interior design. Therefore, to satisfy the residents with the interior design, our study proposes a better space improving monotonousness of the existing apartment through case study. Through the case study, if we analyze the tendency applied to the characteristics of minimalism, we can divide into shape and space. Minimalism space says that the resident can build his/her own space according to the characteristics of the object. Also, it has an advantage of the resident being able to bring in furniture or decoration to change the characteristics of the space. With more accurate understanding and borrowing, we should do multilateral study to research the mixed loading and uncertain minimalism through the case study of apartment space.

This study analyzed the expressive characteristics of padding in contemporary fashion. The methodology of this study was quantified through documentaries, fashion collections, and internet news. The results of expressive characteristics and methods were as follow. First, variability showed the creation of dwelling space by air filling, detail mode by zipper, and diversity of recycled filling by zipper pocket. It reflected the pursuit of nomadism and subversion of permanence by change of filling. Second, it was sexual symbolicity that showed the blurred androgynous silhouette by air filling and padding bar design of the chest, stomach, shoulder for the male body silhouette. It emphasized male sexual identity and power through the expression of a modern ideal body. Third, decoration displayed various crafts (such as knitting), various fabric such as polapolis, suedette, corduroy, denim, leather, knit, and spangle. It reflected visual pleasure, scarcity and various interpretations. Fourth, playfulness character forms throug hair filling, unfamiliar fashion items, diversity of silhouette and change of uses. It reflected a pleasant feeling through astonishment and surprise, nostalgia involved in memory and childhood play and disembarrassment from reality. Fifth, simplicity showed the elimination of a sportswear's factor with regular wad quilting, elimination of wad quilting, wad quilting following the structural line of clothes and the structual line of clothes omitted. It reflected disembarrassment from stereotype and an emphasis on essential elements.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the art characteristics of Japonism expressed in Art Nouveau jewelry. This study also provided an opportunity to seek for the development direction of contemporary jewelry design for the future. The influence of Japanese arts in Art Nouveau jewelry, was mostly from Ukiyo-e, an art form from the Edo Dynasty in Japan. Japanese arts soon inspired the origination of Art Nouveau across Europe in the late 19th century. And the scope of its infuluence is shown in jewelry which created by contemporary painters and designers. Ukiyo-e, a folk painting was created from multi-color wooden printmaking emerged many Japanese art collectors, including Samuel Bing and Arthur Lasenby Liberty. This became a source of new inspirations for Degas, Monet, Gogh and the origin of Japonism. The layout techniques that used perspectives higher than eye level and that extremely cut or expanded major objects for emphasis were typical Ukiyo-e characteristics. The result of this study is found out by showing the evidence that influence of this Ukiyo-e's method came up with specificity as planity, naturality, decoration and express on the Art Nouveau jewelry.

This research selected The Old Rectory, Sissinghurst and East Lambrook Manor as a case study location that is meaningful to discuss potager garden, herb garden and harvest garden, which is a topic of productive garden. This research focuses on the growth potential of Korea's rural house into a garden that embellishes decoration and appreciation. The application method through the interpretation of the case study location will be, first, organizing the shape of the flower bed and then adding additional materials along with the main materials. Second, it can increase the appreciation of productive garden through layering method and making it abundant. Third, it can be utilized well by pursuing artistic feature by combing unique color and texture of edible plants. Lastly, for the weakness of flat structure by short edible plants, vertical structure shall be utilized to provide decoration and frame. Also, by using natural materials, the ambiance of the garden can be presented.

The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of the common people and the furniture they used and to investigate the general characteristics of traditional Korean culture in the late Chosun Dynasty in order to study the Characteristics of Bandagein Gyeongnam province. Local characteristics of the Bandaji were examined through comparing local style of Folk Houses Interior space composition and the utilization Bandaji of that space through the case study and literature review. Bandagein Gyeongnam province are classified as Tongyeong, Jinju, Miryang, Namhae, Yangsan, Gimhae. The height of Bandaji is relatively lower than in other provinces, the metal ornaments are simple, and the wood pattern is used to show simple and natural beauty. As a characteristic of metal decoration, Bandaji of Miryang have a lot of openwork decoration, Bandaji in Jinju have a cicada hinge and a decorative iron hook, Bandaji in Namhae have a peak of a lotus flowers shaped hinge and Ying-yang/ number pattern on openwork facet and Bandajji in Yangsan have a Violin hinge and Bandajji in Gimhae have emphasized ornamental features by using a rivet and lock made of tin and the cast iron.

The aim of this study is to examine the characteristics of facade expression designed by Kim. Han-sup, a key architect in the regional modern architecture movement in Gwang-ju and Jeonnam from the 1950's to 1960's. The study begins with the architectural background and thoughts of Kim. Han-sup through literature reviews and introduces an interview with Han. chong-un, a former college student and employee of Kim, which explains the aesthetic architecture that appeared in his design of facades that was reasonably applied to materials, technology, structure and function in line with the economically tough period in Korea. Furthermore, in order to investigate the characteristics of his facade expression, detailed analysis items will be derived from precedent studies. This study will attempt to conclude with statements that his aesthetic architecture can be defined as an emphasis on formative mass by contrasting between basic rectangular forms, implementation with detailed three-dimensional facade by extruding differently vertical and horizontal structural lines and with the pursuit of decoration through compartmental faces on his 12 representative architectural works.

The purpose of this study is to grasp the meaning of retro-fashion, to research the formative feature characteristic and aesthetic values. Retro-fashion is one of the expression of spatiotemporal-eclecticism, The formative of modern Retro-fashion are as follows: First, Retro-fashion based on spatiotemporal-eclecticism have been come from 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s style of time, and the asia, africa, middle east, latin America in region. Second, the design inspiration and technique is used more primitive crafts and decoration like handcrafted material, handmade ornaments as dyeing and embroidery of bohemian, jacqwuard pattern, oriental beads, applique, new hippie touch, patchwork, smocking, primitive button, woods, ethnic motives. Third, modern Retro-fashion is reflection of human feelings as nostalgia from the past, it supplies the sense of fashion creativity and new ideas.

The purpose of this study was to investigate compostion factor and special qualities of design about Korean clothing image. The 72 samples were obtained from domestic fashion magazines. The questionnaire, which was composed 23 semantic diffrential bi-polar scales, was distributed to 50 female students majoring in Clothing and Textiles. The data were analyzed through factor analysis, anova, scheffe's test, clust analysis. The results were as follows; 1) Through factor analysis about Korean clothing image, 5 factors were identified; elegance, simplicity, femininity, tradition, looseness. 2) By cluster analysis, 3 clusters were determined according to Korean clothing image. Special qualities of design about Korean clothing image showed that there were lots of H silhouette in clothing form, related harmony in color harmony, somewhat rough and crude in texture and simple design in decoration. Top was more or less fit and bottom was found somewhat exaggerated tendency in fitness. 3) As a result of the visual evaluation about Korean clothing image, there were significant differences in all factors.
