Factors that Affect Decisions for Selecting Hospitals and Different Awareness - Focusing on Inpatient, Care-giver, Nurse in University Hospital using AHP (병원선택에 미치는 요인과 사용자 집단 간의 인식차이 - 대학부속병원 입원환자, 보호자, 간호사에 대한 분석적 계층화 의사결정 평가를 중심으로)

  • Purpose: Hospitals for patients and their guardians can, from the concept of healing, be removed from just gaining profits, but suggest a future-oriented direction for the hospital. Accordingly, there have been studies related to the selection of hospitals, but most were related to preference and satisfaction, and only recently did research from the concept of tradeoffs of factors for selection began to grow rapidly. Methods: From this context, this study evaluates the level of importance for factors of selecting hospitals using the analytical hierarchy process, and identifies the correlation with users, gender, age group, and outpatient features in order to identify the difference of awareness among different groups for selecting hospitals. In the factors for selection 26 factors in six categories were set through studies of preceding research, and after surveying 144 people, the following results were attained. Results: 1) The overall analysis results were found in the order of medical level, medical service, and fame, and low for facilities, which is similar to the cases of preceding studies. 2) For user analysis, it was similar between patients and guardians, but there was a slight difference in awareness among nurses, who are also medical service providers. Nurses showed relatively high level of importance in direct factors such as medical technologies and medical services, while guardians of patients showed higher importance in indirect factors such as facility environments and convenience. 3) Women showed higher assessments of importance levels in environmental factors, while men in physical factors. 4) The older the age group, the lower level importance there was on medical level, while the importance on fame reduced the further the commute to the hospital was.

A Statistical Testing of the Consistency Index in Analytic Hierarchy Process (계층적 의사결정론에서 일관성 지수에 대한 통계적 검정)

  • Significant research has been devoted to the consistency index of the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) from several perspectives. Critics of the consistency index in AHP state that the critical value of consistency index depends on an average of the random index based simulation study using a 9 scale comparison matrix. We found that the distribution of the consistency index followed the skew distribution according to the dimension of the comparison matrix based on a simulation study with a 9 scale comparison matrix. From the simulation study, we suggest a consistency index quantile table to assist the decision-making process in AHP; in addition, we can approximate the distribution of the consistency index to the gamma distribution under the limited assumptions.

  • The provision of warning information on upcoming hazards leading to potential crash occurrence is a significant countermeasure to prevent crashes on the highway. This study presents a methodology for selecting more effective warning messages using a multi-criteria value function. The understandability, preference level, and message reading time were used as measures of effectiveness (MOE) for messages. Expert judgements were incorporated into the value function by analytical hierarchical process (AHP) technique. Field experiments to evaluate the warning messages were conducted in a testbed section on the Jungboo-Naeryuk freeway. The proposed methodology would be a useful tool to support the design of various traffic information messages.

  • The lack of water resources is becoming a serious issue throughout the world. The water shortage in Korea is expected to increase. Groundwater can be a solution to this matter in some places. Especially, bank filtrations are known to be advantageous over conventional reserviors, even if they have some drawbacks such as their limited location for development and small sizes. The AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is an analytical tool, supported by simple mathematics, which enables one to explicitly rank tangible and intangible factors against each other for the purpose of resolving conflicts or setting priorities. In order to check the applicability of AHP to the evaluation of bank filtration sites, four candidate locations were chosen. They have suffered from problems like water-supply shortage and delayed dam construction. The analysis results are compared with those of the previous study using a conventional method. It is believed that the developed method can a basis for reasonable decision-making regarding bank filtration development.

The amount of water shortage could amount to 1.8 and 2.6 billion cubic meters in 2011 and 2020, respectively. Groundwater can be a solution to this matter in some places. Especially, underground dams are known to be advantageous over conventional dams, evert if they have some drawbacks such as their limited location for development and small sizes. The analytic hierarchy process(AHP) is an analytical tool, supported by simple mathematics, which enables one to explicitly rank tangible and intangible factors against each other for the purpose of resolving conflicts or setting priorities. In order to check the applicability of AHP to the evaluation of underground dam sites, lour candidate locations were chosen. They have suffered from problems like water-supply shortage and delayed dam construction. The analysis results are compared with those of the previous study using a conventional method. It is believed that the developed method can provide central or local government with a basis for reasonable decision-making regarding underground dam development.

  • This study presents a model to minimize vibration and noise of powertrain mount on a compact car which has the application of Stop & Go performance, in order to reduce CO2 and achieve better fuel-efficiency in accordance with the environmental regulations in automotive industries. In the first step, we analyze the powertrain mount system of the automobile "A" and present variables about rubber stiffness applied on powertrain mount using the Taguchi method. In the next step, we verify the optimization of vibration and noise which meet Stop & Go performance using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method on the proto products for each variable. Using this validation system on the initial stage of the powertrain mount design, it is expected that we can grasp vibration and noise problems caused by engine movements and control them effectively without engineering know-how about powertrain mount rubber stiffness.

  • A grouping process through the similarity comparison is required to effectively classify and respond a malicious code. When we have a use of the past similarity criteria to be used in the comparison method or properties it happens a increased problem of false negatives and false positives. Therefore, in this paper we apply to choose variety of properties to complement the problem of behavior analysis on the heuristic-based of 2nd step in malicious code auto analysis system, and we suggest a similarity comparison method applying AHP (analytic hierarchy process) for properties weights that reflect the decision-making technique. Through the similarity comparison of malicious code, configured threshold is set to the optimum point between detection rates and false positives rates. As a grouping experiment about unknown malicious it distinguishes each group made by malicious code generator. We expect to apply it as the malicious group information which includes a tracing of hacking types and the origin of malicious codes in the future.

  • 신종 및 재출현 전염병이 지속적으로 유행하고 해외 전염병의 국내유입가능성이 증대됨에 따라 국립검역소의 검역관리 사업의 효율성 평가는 매우 중요하다. 연구는 평가 구성요소 사이의 상대적 중요도, 즉 가중치(weight) 부여에 있어서 과학적 타당성을 인정받고 있는 계층분석절차(Analytical Hierarchy Process; AHP) 기법에 의한 이원비교방법을 사용하여 설정하였다. AHP기법은 복잡한 다기준 의사결정문제(multi-criteria decision making problem)를 계층화하여 단순화 체계화시킴으로써 그 영향도를 계량화하는데 탁월한 기법이라는 평가를 받고 있다. 실제 측정에 있어서는 본 모형을 이용하여 얻어졌다. 대영역(기관평가영역, 서비스 및 프로그램평가 영역), 중영역(투입, 과정, 결과, 검역업무, 검사업무, 위생관리업무, 병원체조사감시업무, 전염병예방홍보 교육업무)으로 구분하여 최종적으로 평가지표로 선정된 지표는 실제 국립검역소 사업에 적용하였으며, 이에 대한 최소한의 평가지표를 최종 선정하여 향후 국립검역소사업 평가체계를 보다 체계화 하였다.

  • PFI(Private Finance Initiative) Project is carried to expand infrastructure effectively through participation of private investment. From the year 2005, the range is expanded not only industrial infrastructure such as made road, harbors and so on but living infrastructure such as school facilities, environmental facilities. For this reason BTL(Build-Transfer-Lease) system is mainly used in new private finance initiative project but in existing private finance initiative project BTO(Build-Transfer-Operate) system was used. BTL system is operated to judge fitness of private investment and classified into quantitative VFM(Value for Money) and qualitative VFM. In this research the estimation item of qualitative VFM which is hard to deduce the effect is created and after surveying of questionnaire in target of experts, relative importance and weight is established with AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). By estimating efficiency and benefit of quantitative VFM and qualitative VFM aspect effectively it is expected to support a rational making decision for operating BTL.

  • In recent years, there has been more reconstruction and redevelopment of apartments rather than efforts to consider alternative to extend the life time oh the apartments. It is essential to try to develop ways to adequately maintain and to use the apartment facilities efficiently in order to preserve earth environment and the limited resource. However, lacking research on the effects obtained through remodelling and maintenance have interfered with the vitalizing of the market. The objective of this study is to propose criterions and methods with which to evaluate adequacy of developing method. A survey was performed to investigate important evaluating methods in order to obtain advices that can smoothly progress improve apartment developing method. This study applied AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process) methods for reasonable dependancy of developing in apartment. Through this study, the flow of apartment market is elevated to reaching the level in advanced nation.
