The six fabliaux of the Canterbury Tales are a notable artistic achievement. Of all of them, however, the Merchant's Tale is the most notable to show Chaucer's development of the scope of this genre. We will look briefly at the characters of the fabliau narrators who are crucial to Chaucer's drama of relationships in the course of the Canterbury pilgrimage framework. To distinguish the accomplishment of the Merchant's Tale, we will consider the relative merits of each of the other five fabliaux in the Canterbury Tales. The least flawed of the fabliau narrators, the Merchant will tell a powerful tale about an old man's lust turned into a hasty marriage gone wrong that aims its satire at the noble ruling class of the land, not the usual targets of Chaucer's or most other writers' fabliaux. Further, unlike the light-hearted and dismissable endings of the other Chaucerian fabliaux, the Merchant's Tale has what we will call an Act 6 of continued deception at all corners of the love triangle represented by the senex amans January, his young wife May, perhaps now pregnant after her tryst with Damyan in the pear tree, and the still present young lover Damyan. This triangle of mutual deception will continue into the unknown future under the male and female forces at odds as personified in the king and queen of fairies, Pluto and Proserpina.

The high-tech large warships are minimal and they are always monitored by opponents, and become primary targets when conflicts occur. The improvement in reducing susceptibility has significant importance because it is difficult for a ship to maintain mission capability and functionality once it is damaged. Ordinary decoys are effective only under the premise that the ship has already been exposed. Traditionally, for naval vessels, techniques related to the radar have been used in military stealth techniques to ensure confidentiality. The corner reflector, on the other hand, can produce rather large radar cross sections. Continued use of deceptive systems such as chaff during operations will help to improve survivability of naval ships. From this viewpoint, corner reflector was considered for making radar countermeasures and deception technology. This paper reviews the current status of corner reflector basis decoys and the technical feasibility of corner reflectors for developing structural decoys.

We analyze the jamming/deception performance of an active decoy against ground tracking radars on dynamic combat scenarios. Based on the movement and the interference flow of an airborne platform, the trajectories of the active decoy is accurately calculated by solving 6-degree of freedom equations of motion. On realistic combat scenarios, numerical simulations are examined to analyze the jamming performance of the decoy for various movements of the platform and RF specifications of the active decoy. Effective jamming/deception area against the ground tracking radars is estimated from the simulation.

The tracking radar system is a pulsed tracking system that searches, detects, and tracks targets in real time for ships operating in the ocean. Ships defend themselves through soft kill operations to confuse or deceive the tracking radar. Soft Kill operations include passive chaff and active noise jamming. This paper understands the basic concepts of electronic warfare and explains various deception systems in operation on ships. In addition, each deception The radar system design to respond to the system is explained.

The purpose of this study is to promote the understanding of the objective of Daesoon Thought through 'examining the Objectives of Daesoonjinrihoe.' The objective of Daesoon thought was set when Kang Jeungsan Sangje descended to human world, upon the plea of divine sages, buddhas, and bodhisattvas, and determined to save the world and relieve people far and wide. For building an Earthly Paradise with Daesoon thought, Sangje carried out the great work of Reordering of the Universe for nine years and passed into heaven. Cho Jeongsan Doju, who received the heavenly religious orthodox through divine revelation from Sangje, served the late will of Sangje and established Main Tenets, Creeds, and objective of Daesoon thought. The objective set by Doju was continued to Park Wudang Dojeon and formed the Objectives of Daesoonjinrihoe. The Objectives of Daesoonjinrihoe consist of three sets of objectives in sequential order, which are related in organic, mutual beneficient, and integrative with one another. The Objectives starts from individual cultivation and expand into worldly reformation: 1)one's Spiritual transformation through Guarding against self-deception 2)Renewal of human beings through Realizing Earthly Immortality 3)Opening of new world through Building of Earthly Paradise. Also, in these Objectives of Daesoonjinrihoe, Three Realms of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity keep close relations to enter into new world. These Objectives are based on the 'thought of mutual beneficence' and are realized with Daesoon thought, which is the Dao of 'Crowned King' that goes beyond the previous thoughts of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Objectives of Daesoonjinrihoe have following details in each objective as following; (1) 'Guarding against self-deception-Spiritual Transformation' is for human nature. In Daesoon thought, human has the potential to restore conscience, which is true nature, and return to undefiled essence by 'guarding against self-deception'. In other words, it views that one can reach into the stage of spiritual alignment with the Dao once he recovers conscience through cultivation of Daesoonjinrihoe based on the idea of 'Guarding against self-deception'. (2) 'Realizing Earthly Immortality-Renewal of human beings' is for ideal human character. 'Realizing Earthly Immortality' in Daesoon Thought indicates the advent of ideal human beings called 'Dotong gunja'(virtuous beings who are aligned with the Dao). They are leaders who integrate politics and religion in helping people to renew themselves and make the world into Earthly Paradise. (3) 'Building an Earthly Paradise-Opening of new world' is for ideal society. Daesoon thought aims to making a peaceful world by creating an ideal society of heaven on this earth. Park Wudang Dojeon, who led Daesoonjinrihoe, emphasized the importance of Three Basic Activities: Spreading of Sangje's virtue, Edification, and Cultivation: and Three Major Activities: Aid and charity, Social welfare, and Education. Dojeon said "One should make effort to reach the utmost goodness through enlightening their bright virtue and cultivating their talent virtue." In this words, he made clear that the Objectives of Daesoonjinrihoe can be realized when people enlighten their bright virtue and cultivate themselves with their talent virtue. In conclusion, the Objectives of Daesoon thought were clarified of their meanings by Sangje, established into laws by Doju, and actualized by Dojoen in various activities of Daesoonjinrihoe.

This study investigates the impact of perceived risk, perceived deception, and negative emotional factors on consumer distrust, dissatisfaction, and boycott intentions towards both YouTubers and products that fail to adequately disclose paid advertisements, commonly referred to as "hidden advertisement." Conducted through an online survey, 306 YouTube viewers from South Korea participated in the study. The findings reveal several key insights. Firstly, perceived deception, perceived risk, and negative emotional factors are identified as contributors to increased consumer distrust and dissatisfaction. Secondly, both consumer distrust and dissatisfaction exhibit positive correlations with boycott intentions towards YouTubers and products. This research seeks to unravel the intricacies of online consumer boycott intentions and aims to elucidate the underlying reasons behind such actions. It is noteworthy that in this context, the ramifications of boycotts extend beyond influencers or YouTubers alone, impacting consumer distrust and dissatisfaction, thereby influencing boycott intentions towards the associated products and exerting a lasting impact on a company's branding efforts.

The purpose of this study is to analyze college students' TV advertising information recognition, comprehension and affecting factors on them. Data were collected by a survey of college student consumers after experiments with TV commercials. ANOVA, Duncan, and stepwise multiple regression analysis were carried out with the gathered data. The results are as follows. First, the TV advertising information comprehension degree of the college students consumers were shown to be low, by 41.2%. The comprehension degree was especially low when the information was presented visually without any verbal expression. Second, assuming that the comprehension of TV advertisements is defined by a correct perceptual understanding after recognizing the consumer-deception factors, the percentage of correct answers was poor, by 29.2%. Third, according to sex, average monthly income, degree of immersion on TV commercials, advertisement attitude, and consumer education of school, the TV advertisement information recognition and comprehension showed varying degrees between the groups. In the case of women students whose average monthly income was 100 to 300 thousand Korean won, had a high degree of immersion on TV commercials, and a high degree of consumer education at school, the TV advertising information recognition was shown to be high. In the case of third year college students who had a medium level of immersion on TV commercials and a high degree of consumer education at school, the TV advertisement comprehension was high. Fourth, the high explanatory factor of TV advertising information recognition and comprehension was found to be common because of consumer education at school.

To project military power, the paradigm of the modern warship aquisition has evolved with more large platform and high-technology equipment. For example, the Aegis combat system equipped warship is one of the most advanced and capable defense systems currently in use. Concurrently, if the warship attacked and disabled, it may worse the asymmetry of the battle field and it also depress the morale of the fleet. For that reason, to keep and protect few number of the big and high technology equipped warship from enemy is very important. At the present, the performance of unit weapon has enhanced remarkably. A Korean-built SS-209 class submarine, Lee Chun-ham, participated in Naval Exercise Tandem Thrust conducted in 1999, sink the target ship ex-USS Oklahoma by a single torpedo. USS Stark was struck on May 17, 1987, by two Exocet anti ship missiles and disabled. For this reason, susceptibility should be prior to vulnerability and recoverability. In this paper, deception ship which is small and chief but has very similar signatures to large and high technology equiped warship has conceptually studied by using systems engineering approach. And it may be a effective way to enhance the susceptibility of the key fighting power.

When an enemy platforms transmit electronic jamming or tracking interference signal to a friendly ship's radar, the radar have to avoid the jamming and to track targets continually without losing the targets with the electronic protection techniques. Electronic protection is an essential key for a platform to survive in electronic warfare, for this purpose, jamming simulator was developed to provide electronic warfare environments for the test and evaluate the effectiveness of radar's electronic protection techniques. Jamming simulator has ability to generate a variety of deception and noise jamming signals using the DRFM which minimize phase distortions of 1GHz broadband radar signal with the phase sampling method. This paper presents the design contents of the jamming simulator to process the analysis of broadband radar signal and generate jamming signal, also proposes the algorithms of the deception and noise jamming and verifies the effectiveness of the simulator by field trial.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of olfactory stimulation on the balance ability of the elderly. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: A total of 20 subjects were randomly assigned to the olfactory stimulation group (2 males and 8 females) and deception olfactory stimulation group (3 males and 7 females). Subjects were subjected to 30 second 3 times olfactory stimulation and deception olfactory stimulation, and the assessment measured pre and post postural distance and postural speed. Results: In the elderly, the olfactory stimulation group was significantly improved the postural distance and postural speed in the eyes closed state than the deception stimulation group (p<.05). Conclusion: As the information is provided through the olfactory stimulation, the postural distance and postural speed are significantly improved. therefore, it is expected that the olfactory stimulation in the elderly will be an effective intervention method to prevent fall.
