This study is on the reading movement of public library. The purpose of this study is to provide who and how to campaign reading for library users. In conclusion, I'd like to claim that the dean of public library have to make efforts first and the librarians also have to develop various programs for library users continually.

Two factorial designs with quantitative factors are called geometrically equivalent if the design matrix of one can be transformed into the design matrix of the other by row and column permutations, and reversal of symbol order in one or more columns. Clark and Dean (2001) gave a sufficient and necessary condition (which we call the 'gCD condition') for two symmetric factorial designs with quantitative factors to be geometrically equivalent. This condition is based on the absolute value of the Euclidean(or Hamming) distance between pairs of design points. In this paper we extend the gCD condition to asymmetric designs. In addition, a modified algorithm is applied for checking the equivalence of two designs.

This is an interview with Professor Kwang-Hyung Lee, founding Dean of KAIST Moon Soul Graduates School of Future Strategy and founder of the Department of Bio and Brain Engineering of the same university casting two questions about academics. The first question is what pattern is desirable in the evolution of research topics of an academics. While traditional researchers in science and engineering tend to focus on one subject in ever greater depth over time, Professor Lee's research agenda has spanned several new topics by gradually changing the content of the study: from artificial intelligence to bio and brain research, and to creativity development method, further to future study. The second question is about researchers' social responsibility. He has devoted to contributes to industry fields and the nation through academic activities as well as educating several successful business people, founding a new academic department and graduate school of future studies.

There are a lot of problems in the face detection area. One of them is detecting faces by facial features and reducing number of the false negatives and positions. This paper is directed to solve this problem by the proposed triangle method. Also, this paper explans cascades, Haar-like features, AdaBoost, HOG. We propose a scheme using 12-net, 24-net, 48-net to scan images and improve efficiency. Using triangle method for frontal pose, B and B1 methods for other poses in neural networks are proposed.

A special group of polymers, those from renewable resources, has attracted an increasing amount of attention over the last two decades, due to two major reasons: environmental concerns and the limitations of our finite petroleum resources. Generally, polymers from renewable resources (PFRR) can be classified into three groups: (1) natural polymers, such as starch, protein and cellulose; (2) synthetic polymers from natural monomers, such as polylactic acid (PLA); and (3) polymers from microbial fermentation, such as polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB). Like many other petroleum based polymers, various properties of PFRR are also vastly improved through blending and composites formation.

This paper is descried the experimental results of beach process including storm surge and beach recovery. By testing different surge levels and durations, effects of these to shoreline change were evaluated. In addition of beach recovery were investigated experimentally. On the other hand, we proposed the method, which can be applicable to complex hydrograph such as storm surge by modifying equation proposed by Kriebel and Dean. Moreover, applicability of this method is verified by comparing computing result with experiments.

We demonstrate color video displays driven by carbon nanotube electron field emitters. These nanotubes are incorporated into the device by selective growth using low temperature chemical vapor deposition. The device structure is simple and inexpensive to fabricate, and a 45 V switching voltage enables the use of low cost driver electronics. The prototype units are sealed 4.6” diagonal displays with 726 um pixels. They represent a piece of a 42” diagonal 1280x720 high definition television. The carbon nanotube growth process is performed as the last processing step and creates nanotubes ready for field emission. No activation post-processing steps are required, so chemical and particulate contamination is not introduced. Control of the nanotube dimension, orientation, and spatial distribution during growth enables uniform, highquality, color video performance.

This study examines the effect of mother's market work participation and presumably in the home, on the production of child quality, where child quality is measured by nutritional status. In general, our analysis answers how does mothers' employment affect away-home food consumption and their children's diet quality. The data come from the 1994-1996 Continuing Survey of Food Intakes by Individuals (CSFII) in 1998 and the sample used in this study is 1774 children that provided information on their food intake for two days from 1065 households. The direct effects and indirect effects through foods-away-from home consumption were obtained. The results suggested that although mothers' employment showed small direct effects on their children's nutrient intakes, it can have a larger effect through foods-away-from home consumption.

Contemporary organizations strive for customer agility through the deployment of digital technologies on customer-focused operations to build enduring customer relationships, with mobile apps being one of its prominent examples. Drawing on prior agility and ECT literature, this study proposes a model to examine customers' view of a firm's customer agility. Our empirical test of conceptual model from data collected in a field study from 128 customers demonstrated that the conceptual model offers good explanation for customers' view of a firm's customer agility through relationships among customer expectations-customer perceived firm's responsiveness-satisfaction. Data were analyzed using PLS, polynomial modeling, and response surface methodology to examine the relationships between customers' digital interactions with the firm, influence of digitized interactions on customer expectations, customers' evaluation of firm's responsiveness, and subsequent customer satisfaction.

A feruloyl esterase encoding gene (designated fae6), derived from a leachate metagenomic library, was cloned and the nucleotide sequence of the insert DNA determined. Translational analysis revealed that fae6 consists of a 515 amino acid poly-peptide, encoding a 55 kDa pre-protein. The Fae6 primary structure contained the G-E-S-A-G sequence, which corresponds well with a typical catalytic serine sequence motif (G-x-S-x-G). The fae6 gene was successfully over-expressed in E. coli and the recombinant protein was purified to 8.4 fold enrichment with 17% recovery. The $K_M$ data showed Fae6 has a high affinity to methyl sinapate while thermostability data indicated that fae6 was thermolabile with a half life ($T_{1/2}$) < 30 min at $50^{\circ}C$. High affinity for Fae6 against methyl sinapate, methyl ferulate and ethyl ferulate suggest that the enzyme can be useful in hydrolyzing ferulated polysaccharides in a biorefinery process.
