The sound we hear is transmitted through the atmosphere. However, both the sound we want to hear and the surrounding sound are mixed, and noise is generated, and the sound is not clearly transmitted due to factors such as distance. In particular, in closed spaces like buildings, it is often difficult to hear sounds from outside because of the sound of reflection. People with hearing impairments, such as the elderly and the deaf, have a hard time hearing the sounds they want to hear. Thus, we are developing a hearing aid that can detect radio waves. To this end, we propose the development of a hearing aid that uses FM radio and Bluetooth. These devices are expected to be useful not only for the elderly and the deaf but also in situations where information is transmitted to a large number of people, such as students and tourists, in a large space. The main purpose of this device is to enable users to hear sound correctly without blind spots.

The purpose of the study is to identify the accessibility of OpenCouresWare(OCW) from the perspective of college students with visual and hearing impairments. Six students with visual impairments(3 blind and 3 low vision) and four students with hearing impairments(2 deaf, 2 hard of hearing) implemented usability testing. Two modules in KOCW were selected for testing. Students implemented usability testing and then each individual case was analyzed through quantitative and qualitative methods. As results, the degree of usability and accessibility in two modules indicated low level. Implications and recommendations for designing OCW module based on the results were suggested.
The purpose of this survey is to grasp the special school therapeutic education teachers, stress degrees in the real educational fields, and to campare the different stress degrees by the teaching responsibilities, by set by age, by the careers of special teaching profession, by his or her assiduity by the academic careers and teacher qualification, and by the reasons of stress. To perform this survey, the writer analyzed the answer sheets of the questionnairs returned by 85 special school therapeutic education teachers all over the country. The results of the analysis are as follows: First, the mean value of stress by the whole teachers was shown as endurable, and there was no difference among stress towels by the teaching responsibilities. As for the ratio of teachers confronted with the dangerous level of stress. the teachers taking charge of feebleminded school teachers the highest ratio, and those charging of deaf & dumb school teachers, the lowest. Second, the comparison by age didn't result in any difference, but in the relation of age to the handicap division there appeared meaningful differences. That is in the case of the therapeutic education theachers charging of crippled school, it revealed that the older they were, the more stress they suffered. In the case of the teachers charging of visually deaf & dumb school the tendency was opposite. The comparison by the special teaching profession careers, there showed no difference in the stress degree. The high or low academic careers didn't make any influence on the therapeutic education teachers stress degree. Third, The revealed on the highest stress degress, because reasons of relation the student's parents with students behavior.
Inclusion of hearing impaired students in general schools is the current tendency in deaf education today. The goal of inclusion is to promote the academic and social inclusion of hearing impaired students, where academic inclusion focuses on higher academic achievement and class participation level. However, some studies have shown that hearing impaired students attending general schools mostly experience feelings of isolation, rejection and loneliness, and encounter identity development problems. This study reviews the research on the inclusion of hearing impaired students in general schools, as well as the perceptions of their parents, teachers on their academic and social inclusion. A further aim of this study is to explore the supporting services, teachers's attitude, career guidance service and effective collaborative partnership among teachers for hearing impaired students. This study concludes with suggesting the community of knowledge as integrative supporting strategy for inclusion.

This study looks into how hearing-impaired college students use libraries and what their information needs are in order to prepare basic materials which would be applied for developing a library service program and others proper enough to be used by the hearing-impaired college students. In order to achieve the research goal, the study gathered data from a total of 155 hearing-impaired college students through a survey and interviews and a frequency analysis, a cross validation, a t-test and a one-way ANOVA were conducted to analyze the data. At the end of its research, the study confirmed that the hearing-impaired college students' gender, years, degrees of disability, schools, specialties and prosthetic appliances would make significant differences in how the students use the libraries. In addition, the study took a look into differences in the hearing-impaired college students' information needs caused by types of the students' prosthetic appliances, schools and degrees of disability and found out that these types of the prosthetic appliances the students use would significantly affect every category of their information needs. The study now also understands that both the schools and the degrees of disability would make significant differences in a few categories of the information needs, and the former influences education and promotion targeting users and arrangement of sign language interpreters while the latter affects education and promotion targeting users and improvements in browsing environments.
Purposes: Speech acceptability means the subjective judgement of listeners regarding the naturalness and normality of the speech. The purpose of this study was to determine the predicting variables for speech acceptabilities of children with cochlear implants. Methods: Twenty seven children with CI participated. They had profound pre-lingual hearing loss without any additional disabilities. The mean of chronological ages was 8;9, and mean of age of implantation was 2;11. Speech samples of reading and spontaneous speech were recorded separately. Twenty college students who were not familiar to the speech of deaf children evaluated the speech acceptabilities using visual analog scale. 1 segmental (articulation) and 6 suprasegmental features (pitch, loudness, quality, resonance, intonation, and speaking rate) of speech were perceptually evaluated by 3 SLPs. Correlation and multiple regression analysis were performed to evaluate the predicting variables. Results: The means of speech acceptability for reading and spontaneous speech were 73.47 and 71.96, respectively. Speech acceptability of reading was predicated by the severity of intonation and articulation. Speech acceptability of spontaneous speech was predicated by the severity of intonation and loudness. Discussion and conclusion: Severity of intonation was the most effective variable to predict the speech acceptabilities of both reading and spontaneous speech. A further study would be necessary to generalize the result and to apply this result to intervention in clinical settings.
This research aims to perform an in-depth investigation about meanings and essence of working as clinical research nurses in local general hospitals. In order to interpret and reveal the meanings of role experience, data were collected from objects of 7 participants for 3 months. Data were analyzed by ethnographic research tools of Spradley. Clinical research nurses have experienced expansion of roles through new social learning processes. Conclusively, this study will provide useful basic data to develop new curriculum about clinical research nursing for nursing students and to improve working conditions for clinical research nurses.e purpose of this study is to design and implement a sign language dictionary for the deaf to understand information communication terminologies. When the deafs who have difficulties in communication use the internet, they can get help from this dictionary in accessing various types of information and expressing their intension. In order for the deaf to utilize the internet as efficiently as ordinary people, they must understand information communication terminologies first.

Methods : A questionnaire survey was conducted in the Special School of the 311 students in the area of the metropolitan Seoul. By means of Chi-squared test and Fisher's exact test, oral hygiene habits for each type of the subjects, the contents of dental care services, the prerequisites to improve oral health, were inquired. To evaluate the effects to the current oral health status of types of disability, 2-way ANOVA was practiced. Results : The handicapped with Visual impairment, mental retardation, multiplicity with disabilities, answered negatively in their own oral health status. 47.4% of the deaf can do brush for theirselves without the inconvenience, but in other types of disability they showed that they were helped by others. Subjects did not use the secondary oral hygiene necessaries because, except brain damage, almost of types of disability impeded the convenient use. 60 to 88.2 percent of the total respondents were the recent visitors to dental clinique within 1 year, and the most common motives of the visiting dentist, is a routine medical examination, their movements to the dentist in all types of disabilities, needed helps of others. Most of them received medical treatment at a private dentist, the handicapped preferred the private care and place(49.8%).
