The Database Industry Promotion Act was proposed at the National Assembly plenary session on July 26, 2012 and since then it has been in the process of enactment in consultation with all the governmental departments concerned. The recent trend of economic globalization and smart device innovation suggests a new opportunity and challenges for all industries. The database industry is also facing a new phase in an era of smart innovation. Korea is in a moment of opportunity to take an innovative approach to promoting the database industry. Korea should set up a national policy to promote the database industry for citizens, government, and research institutions, as well as enterprises. Above all, the Database Industry Promotion Act could play a great role in promoting the social infrastructure to enhance the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises. This article discusses the background of the development of the Database Industry Promotion Act and its legislative processes in order to clarify its legal characteristics, including the meaning of the act. In addition, this article explains individual items related to the overall structure of the Database Industry Promotion Act. Finally, this article reviews the economic effects of the database industry for now and the future.

Then, this study suggests a definition, classifications and the industry structure of database, and presents the developing processes of both world and Korea database industry. Finally, the problems of domestic database industry of Korea are pointed out and the policy to foster it is suggested.

Most of the people in marketing area know that database marketing has been one of the most powerful marketing tools and thus database marketing industry grows bigger and bigger. For both effective database marketing and database marketing industry, personal data are the very essential resources. Unfortunately, in Korea, both database marketing and database marketing industry stays far behind compared to other countries because it is practically very hard to legally trade personal data for database marketing purpose. Instead Korea has a illegal spam problem which might be a natural consequency of strong restriction on personal data in the situation of huge demand for personal data. KT SODiS can be called the frontier of Korea's database marketing industry since it is the first legal business in this area. In the first 5 months, SODiS obtained 2 millions of legal customer consents which can be the strong base to help database marketing activities of other companies. This case shows marketing strategies of KT SODiS to establish infrastructure for Korea's database marketing industry and suggests some future tasks to further develop the industry.

In addition to enabling access, database accounts play a protective role by defending the database from external attacks. However, because only a single account is used in the database, the account becomes the subject of vulnerability attacks. This common practice is due to the lack of database support, large numbers of users, and row-based database permissions. Therefore if the logic of the application is wrong or vulnerable, there is a risk of exposing the entire database. In this paper, we propose a Least-Privilege Account Separation Model (LPASM) that serves as an information guardian to protect the database from attacks. We separate database accounts depending on the role of application services. This model can protect the database from malicious attacks and prevent damage caused by privilege escalation by an attacker. We classify the account control policies into four categories and propose detailed roles and operating plans for each account.

Mapping of EXPRESS, which is object-favored language to represent IFC model, to Relational Database is not straightforward. Model size can be much bigger and data can be missed through process. However mapping to the object concept added database, such as Object Oriented Database or Object Relational Database, may be simpler and have lots of advantages. This study investigates previous IFC mapping studies, concept of Relational Database and Object Oriented Database, and mapping methodology to Object Relational Database using object.

Research materials of Korean traditional shoes have so far been mainly literary explanations or plane pictures expressed on the basis of the explanations and photographs of incomplete forms of relics excavated and it makes us have difficulty in observing them visually and producing products with them by design application. This project is to establish database of literal data of Korean traditional shoes and visual data using 3D in order to make the foundation of developing culture industry contents using Korean traditional shoes. According to the initial research plan. first. it analyzed and arranged the Korean traditional shoes into period. sex and function as the research goals of the first year. categorized the form. composition. materials. patterns. and colors of traditional shoes and then database of the materials was performed with text. Second. visual image materials including forms. composition. materials. patterns. and colors of traditional shoes were established as database with scanner. digital camera and computer 2D. Results of such a database will be able to be used as important materials which can be the foundation of culture industry contents development of traditional shoes and be the materials for developing digital culture contents of traditional shoes and teaching Korean traditional culture.

Purpose: In this paper, we will discuss 1) prioritizing databases to be integrated; 2) which data elements should be emphasized in federated database integration; and 3) the degree of efficiency in the integration. This paper aims to lay the groundwork for building data governance by presenting guidelines for database integration using metrics to identify and evaluate the capabilities of the UK's air quality databases. Methods: This paper intends to perform relative efficiency analysis using Data Envelope Analysis among the multi-criteria decision-making methods. In federated database integration, it is important to identify databases with high integration efficiency when prioritizing databases to be integrated. Results: The outcome of this paper aims not to present performance indicators for the implementation and evaluation of data governance, but rather to discuss what criteria should be used when performing 'federated integration'. Using Data Envelope Analysis in the process of implementing intelligent data governance, authors will establish and present practical strategies to discover databases with high integration efficiency. Conclusion: Through this study, it was possible to establish internal guidelines from an integrated point of view of data governance. The flexiblity of the federated database integration under the practice of the data governance, makes it possible to integrate databases quickly, easily, and effectively. By utilizing the guidelines presented in this study, authors anticipate that the process of integrating multiple databases, including the air quality databases, will evolve into the intelligent data governance based on the federated database integration when establishing the data governance practice in the railway industry.

The purpose of this study is to develop a recruiting platform resolving the mismatch between corporate job and job finder's competence in recruitment market. For this, we investigated technological trends and limitation on recruit platform. Based on the findings, this study investigates the trends and directions related to recruiting platform evolution and identified critical success factors and development strategies for successful development of recruiting platform. Two development strategies include employment of online resume and construction of database assessing job finder's competence. We also proposed target system architecture incorporating job database, competency assessment form, capability oriented resume. To analyze user requirement national competency standards and core job capability evaluation model were analyzed. Next, we designed integrated database, user interfaces, and dynamic functionalities using the forms developed in earlier stage. Finally, we assessed the fidelity of form item, integrity of database, and the usability of interface to evaluate the effectiveness of the system.

Recently, the energy industry is implementing renewable energy supply policy to reduce energy consumption. The purpose of this study is to build a database that can help promote the supply of geothermal energy system to prepare for the increase of renewable energy demand and to develop a method to evaluate the possibility of geothermal energy system installation by using database information. The data used in the study was reliable using open data provided by national agencies. We obtained information necessary for the possibility of geothermal energy system installation, constructed a dedicated database, and studied the method of calculating the geothermal well capacity by using the database information. In the future, this study will establish a local environmental evaluation standard and add information on other renewable energy to contribute to the activation of renewable energy supply.
