  • Recently, the researches to discovery drug candidates from natural herbs have received considerable attention. In human body, enzyme mostly metabolize the compounds of natural herbs. In this study, we analysis the enzyme interactions using assoication mining. We get this data from BRENDA(: BRaunschweig ENzyme DAtabase) system. Based on enzyme interaction model, we divide the metabolites into substrate metabolites, product metabolites, inhibitor metabolites, and activating metabolites. We then compose substrate metabolite transaction, product metabolite transaction with each metabolites and enzyme interaction transaction with all metabolites. Also we take account of organism for each transactions. We mine frequent metabolites and patterns from six transactions using association rule mining. And we analysis the relationship among metabolites. As a result, we identify the distributions and patterns of metabolites consist in enzyme interactions. We found that metabolites include in only substrate are identified and have very low supports. This results can be useful to develop the effective metabolism prediction model for compounds of natural herbs.

  • The 2PL-HP(Two Phase Locking with High Priority) method has been used to guarantee preceding process of a high priority transaction(HPT) in real-time database systems. The method resolves a conflict through aborting or blocking of a low priority transaction(LPT). However, if HPT is eliminated in a system because of its deadline missing, an unnecessary aborting or blocking of LPT is occurred. Recently, to resolve the problem, a concurrency control algorithm using alternative version was proposed. However, the algorithm must always create the alternative version and needs an addtional technique to manage complex alternative versions. In this paper, we propose an efficient concurrency control algorithm that prevents needless wastes of resources and eliminates unnecessary aborting or blocking of LTP. And it is shown through the performance evaluation that the proposed concurrency control algorithm outperforms the existing concurrency control algorithm using alternative version.

  • An e-business client application in ubiquitous mobile computing environment may become disconnected from the enterprise server due to broken communication connections caused by the limitation of mobile computing environments(limited battery life of the mobile device, low bandwidth communication, incomplete wireless communication infrastructure, etc). It Is even Possible that mobile client application Intentionally operates in disconnected mode to reduce communication cost and the power consumption of the mobile device. We use “data hoarding” as a means of providing local autonomy to allow transactions to be processed and committed on the mobile host despite of disconnection. The key problem to this approach is the synchronization problem that serialize potentially conflicting updates from disconnected clients on master objects of the server database. In this paper, we present a new transaction synchronizing method that splits a transaction into a set of independent component transactions and give the synchronization priority on each component taking the possibility of use and conflicts in the server into consideration. Synchronization is performed component by component based un synchronization priority. After the Preferred component of a no bile transaction succeeds in synchronization with the server, the mobile transaction can pre-commit at server. A pre-committed transaction's updated value is made visible at server before the final commit of the transaction. The synchronization of the component with low synchronization priority can be delayed in adaption to wireless bandwidth and computing resources. As a result, the availability of important data updated by mobile client is increased and it can maximize the utilization of the limited wireless bandwidth and computing resources.

  • As the areas of computer application are expanded, the real-time applicition enviroments that must process as many transactions as possible within their deadlines have been increased recently. Conventional disk based databaes system is not appropriate in real-time transaction processing due to delying time for disk I/O processing. When the system is overloaede, the performance of transaction scheduling technique using earliest deadline first deteriorates rapidly because it can assign the highest priority ot a transaction that has already missed or is about to miss tis deadline. Therfore, the performance of suggested transaction secheduling technique is made to improved by propos-ing the doule locking mechanism based on priority. Finally, in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed priority-based double locking techniques under single proessor and main memory database system environments, the simulation model was developed using the SLAM II language.

  • The talent trading platform is a platform that brokers transactions such as program coding, media content production (video, music, presentation materials, etc.), design, learning, and repair. Existing talent trading platforms provide a server-client model-based service, which incurs server operating costs and arbitration labor costs for transactions, which has a disadvantage that users bear high service fees. This paper proposes a method to reduce server and database operation costs by uploading transaction information to blocks through the system as a distributed app (dApp) based on the Ethereum platform. In addition, it proposes a method to lower transaction fees by reducing the labor cost of transaction arbitrators through smart contracts. Compare and analyze the cost processing procedure and transaction fee size of the blockchain-based talent trading platform and the existing talent trading platform.

  • An IFC Server is a database management system that stores data complying with a standard data format, called IFC, and keeps track of data transactions, modifications, and deletions. It plays a role as an information hub for storing and sharing information between various parties involved in construction projects. There have been several efforts to develop an IFC Server, however, they suffered from slow performance and long transaction time due to a complex mapping process between IFC files and relational database structures. In this study, we aim to develop an IFC Server using an object-relational database system. Since IFC has an object-flavored data structure, we expect to have a simpler and faster mapping process from IFC to the IFC Server. This paper reviews existing studies and describes the overall framework of the OR-IFC Server.

  • Database administrators should be aware of performance characteristics of database systems in order to manage database system effectively. The usages of system resources in database systems could be quite different under database workloads. The objective of this paper is to identify and analyze performance characteristics of database systems in different workloads, which could help database tuners tune database systems Under the TPC-C and TPC-W workloads, which represent typical workloads of online transaction processing and electronic commerce respectively, we investigated usage types of resource that are determined by fourteen performance indicator, and are behaved in response to changes of four tuning parameters (data buffer, private memory, I/O process, shared memory). Eight out of the fourteen performance indicators cleary show the performance differences under the workloads. Changes of data buffer parameter give a influences to database system. The tuning parameter that affects the system performance significantly is the database buffer size in the both workloads.

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheduling method without timing covert channel of real-time transaction for secure database systems that implement mandatory access control. Our scheduling method use the wait queue based on security level to remove timing covert channel. And it use priority queue that consider transaction type, deadline, and weight. Therefore, the proposed scheduling method prevents timing covert channel because it is kept noninterference between transactions with different security level, and maximizes the sum of the weight of transactions that satisfy its deadline. The simulation results, is a comparison of traditional methods, show that our scheduling method is improved to 30%.

  • Temporal databases support an efficient historical management by means of valid time and transaction time. Valid time stands for the time when a data happens in the real world. And transaction time stands for the time when a data is stored in the database, Temporal Query Processing System(TQPS) should be extended so as tc process the temporal operations for the historical informations in the user query as well as the conventional relational operations. In this paper, the extended temporal query processing systems which is based on the previous temporal query processing system for TQuel(Temporal Query Language) consists of the temporal syntax analyzer, temporal semantic analyzer, temporal code generator, and temporal interpreter is to be described, The algorithm for additional functions such as transaction time management, temporal aggregates, temporal views, temporal joins and the heuristic optimization functions and their example how to be processed is shown.

  • During a decade, e-Commerce environments supporting real-time transaction processing have been getting larger. In telecommunication and financial environments, research and building for main memory database systems have been doing to support real-time transaction processing. A research on indexing for fast transaction support focuses on reducing cache misses or reducing memory access latency when cache misses happen. In the paper, we propose a prefetch method for tree index structures to reduce memory access latency. We present a prefetch-efficient pCST-tree and show superiority of the proposed tree by experiments.
